Santa Clara Convention is a good place to attend an event. The convention floor was spacious. There were vending machines for desserts , ramen, snacks, and toiletries. There were food available for sale and the Chicken Tiki Masala was okay . Overall this is pretty cool place for an event.

Welcome to the Santa Clara Convention Center. Absolutely no food allowed, not even from the adjacent hotel. Apparently, they "have specific permit with their catering vendor, so the only food allowed is from the catering company or vending machines. Except the catering company is for a different group at the convention so therefore no one participating in a different convention activity has access to said food. Now that's just silly. You can do better and should do better than that. Children at a dance convention during lunch time only have access to vending machine food (sweet drinks, coffee & snack food only is available) per this policy. Something stinks more that this review...

We come to this Convention Center usually twice a year. Once for the Travel & Adventure Show and again for California Extreme Pinball and Arcade Games Show. When we are spending the night, we'll stay at the adjoining Hyatt for the convenience of being able to go upstairs to rest. When we're only down for the day, we try to arrive one hour before opening time in order to get a decent parking space in the adjoining parking structure. Overflow parking is a long block away and is not enjoyable in the hot sun after having been on your feet all day. The Convention Center is usually well signed as there are often two or three events going on at the same time. Restrooms are usually clean and plentiful. What caught our eyes today were a pair of vending machines hiding behind the escalators on the first level. One was offering 'fresh baked' croissants for $5 each. I didn't get a picture of that one but I did get a picture of its neighbor. We watched as a customer ordered a bowl of Tonkatsu Ramen, using her debit/credit card, paying $12.99. The timer count-down started at 45-seconds to completion but it was probably 60-seconds before the door opened and the bowl could be retrieved. I watched as she opened the bowl and it looked to me like a pre-packaged bowl that was punctured through its lid and plastic seal to allow boiling water into the bowl. Essentially a cup-a-Noodle on steroids as it was advertised to have a slice of pork, fish cake, and assorted other yummies. I have purchased large bowls of ramen imported from Japan that had as many as 7 packets of ingredients included a slice of pork and they were delicious so I'm guessing this is the next step up in terms of quality and convenience. We did not try the machine this time because we were going out for ramen nearby but we'll give it a shot in July if it's still around!

Be prepared to be so cold. You will be blasted with cold air in every hall, room, and theater. Wear layers.

What stood out most was her dedication -- even when she wasn't feeling well, she made sure we were fully taken care of and that everything stayed on track. On the day of the wedding, Jessica and Vanessa from her team were also so sweet and wonderful to work with. They made everything run smoothly and helped us truly enjoy the day without stress. She was also very helpful in giving advice on how to execute our personalized ideas to ensure they turned out well. She is extremely organized and gave us such peace of mind leading up to the big day, especially by coordinating exactly what we needed to bring versus what her team would handle. It was also a huge help that she had a variety of decor items we could borrow, like card boxes, frames, and easels, which saved us from having to buy them ourselves. She had worked with most of our vendors before and ensured that everyone was on the same page via email leading up to the day. On the wedding day, Sushie and her team checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. We are so glad we chose her for her expertise and her can-do attitude!

Pre-COVID, I would avoid a one-hour long commute to work on occasion as my employer partnered with Star Space as a remote working location for their employees. There are numerous working environments (some formal, some informal, and also includes an outdoor patio that has WiFi connectivity) that are all set up with external monitors and peripherals. The printing is fast and there are conference rooms that can be reserved in advance for a small fee. There are sometimes community events meant to bring together those using the co-working space to get to know each other and exchange ideas. Post-COVID, they have aligned with proper precautions for the county and I feel completely safe working from there. There is a key fob that you can use during and after-hours, truly making this workplace accessible 24/7. Their kitchen is also fantastic. It is usually stocked with many single-serve type items (think cheese, hummus, pickle pouches, fruits, trail-mix type snacks, and beverages galore). Microwave, kitchen, and non-stop coffee. (There is oddly a premium coffee machine up front that I have NEVER seen been used as they charge a fee. This seems like it is a waste and should just be made available for users to make their own coffee.). Lunch is usually via a group DoorDash, but I find it easier and cheaper to often order separately and have it delivered to the the front door. All-in-all, Star Space is a wonderful co-working space that allows me to work outside the distracting environment in my own home, but not having to commute to my regular workplace or to another distracting environment like the library or coffee shops. They have great receptionist too. Highly recommend!

I've planned and managed several Marketing events, so I can vouch that the team at Owl Vision is bar none. From lighting to sound to general aesthetic / atmosphere, Owl Vision made our backyard wedding come to life in ways I never imagined. The team did multiple site visits to ensure that we were set up properly with power and that they could provide exactly what we needed (and more) for both the aesthetic, but also for the coordinating team, bartenders, and catering team. Owl Vision worked with our vendors throughout the process, so we didn't even have to coordinate things like arrival times and timelines. The team worked with us so personally days before the event, setting up and customizing the lighting and sound to make sure it reflected our vision. We ran several test runs at dusk and in the evening with them. When our vineyard lights didn't dim, David (owner of Owl Vision) went out and personally picked up dimmers at the store days before our event. During our wedding, we had 4 tea, members running our event: a manager, an MC, a DJ, and a lighting designer. I cannot speak highly enough of this team, who worked in the background to run the reception perfectly. Their setup was not intrusive and they were working efficiently in the background with our coordinator to monitor the timeline. We, as a couple, are big into music and were very nervous about how the night would turn out for us and our family / friends. DJ Tav Tal played exactly what we had hoped for and even accommodated all of our last-minute requests as the night evolved. The team stayed well beyond contract and even helped us turn our wedding into a silent disco. Owl Vision management stayed to make sure the silent disco was working (until well after midnight) and then arrived promptly at 10:00am the next morning to clean up. If you are looking to host an event, no matter what the occasion, do not sleep on Owl Vision. I underestimated how much lighting can transform an event and I feel so lucky to have worked with the incredible team who K N O W S LIGHTS AND MUSIC. Guests continue to rave to me about how special the atmosphere was at our event, predominantly due to Owl Vision's excellent work.
