I have what would be considered dirty blonde hair and Jamie recommended balayage at my previous hair cut appointment. I spoke to friends who'd had balayage and an old stylist from where I used to live so decided to do it and told Jamie I wanted to go blonde blonde. She said yeah she's going to do that. When she started blow drying my hair I said it doesn't look much different and she responded that it'd keep getting lighter over the next few weeks, that to get to the color I wanted it'd take multiple appointments (something she didn't mention until I pointed out there was no change) and insisted she saw a big difference. (Side note: she started curling my hair, I asked her not to and she continued anyway which I thought was weird and in hindsight probably done to distract from the fact my hair looked almost the same) I gave it a month and it didn't get any lighter. Not a single person noticed I had my hair done and after $410 ($500 with tip) that was really disappointing. She ended up letting me come in to have it redone free of charge and what do you know it lightened several shades to exactly what I wanted. So much of a difference I seriously have trouble believing a lighter shade couldn't be achieved after one treatment like she said (friends and internet research agrees with me). I probably wouldn't be leaving this review if that was it but she was really rude and kind of scolded me at the end and told me no stylist would do this for free, that lightening to a noticeable difference is only possible after 2 treatments, and that hair doesn't actually lighten after unless you're in the sun. Everything she said contradicted itself so it was really confusing and misleading plus her attitude was crap. I obviously won't be going back and would not recommend this stylist to anyone. The salon is nice and the other stylists seem friendly though

I reached out to Sandra as soon as I got back to the States and she kept me updated on the store reopening and booked me in as soon as it was safe and allowed. The woman at the front desk couldn't have been nicer in offering me a refund and free blowout but the kind gestures in response are not why I am writing this. I went in asking for a two inch trim and a blowout. The man who trimmed my hair, Bilal, took off more than six inches. I requested numerous times from the beginning of the appointment and throughout the appointment that I wanted only two inches and I was dead set on keeping my hair long. I repeated this constantly as I didn't want any misunderstandings and requested he not make any adjustments to my layers either as I was trying to grow them out. By the time I could even change anything about it, he had forced me out of my chair for his Instagram content and proceeded to take 6-8 inches off (I even have the video of it that he took for his Instagram content). I was so devastated by the fact I had emphasized so greatly to him and in front of the other staff how I only wanted two inches off, I am shocked and extremely furious with the negligence of the salon and realized that there are numerous other reviewers with similar stories on Yelp reviews. Please do not come to this salon because there is an incredible lack of consideration for anything customers request. I am heartbroken over losing so much hair but feel like it's important to warn others.

Gerard listened to exactly what I wanted, was thorough in his execution, and I left feeling very happy - definitely NOT "meh". :) For reference, I had a partial highlight and haircut. My color may not look complex, but I am very particular about having my highlights blend naturally (zero demarcation line) and Gerard totally delivered on this. Additionally, parking was easy, I had zero wait when I arrived, and the whole vibe of the salon was mellow/relaxing. I already have my next appointment scheduled! 10/10 would recommend.
