I've been seeing Angela for Brazilians since 2011, so this is pretty much my longest relationship ever. I adore her. She is amazing and does a wonderful job. I will continue to see her forever. However, this salon is not amazing. Given the tony address, you would expect something luxurious, but this is not. The look and feel of the salon is dated, at best. It's not modern or glam or even slightly high-end looking. The floors are constantly slippery and it is incredibly loud. Clearly, soundproofing was forgotten. Don't bother knocking on the restroom door--you cannot hear if it is occupied, so you will just have to try the handle. The receptionists lack any sort of customer service skills. There were a few good ones, but I believe they have all left. Twice in one year I have shown up for an appointment, only to be told it was cancelled, with no notification. And I was lied to about being called. The salon rectified the situation, but still. This is absolutely unacceptable. Also, you are always put on hold when you call. Electronic communication is also lacking. You cannot book or change appointments online and a credit card is not kept on file. It's almost 2019, and I'm used to salons keeping my card on file, and just confirming the charge and tip when I leave, as well as being able to book online, so I'm shocked at how behind the times PR at Partners is. Occasionally, I'll receive an email confirmation of my next appointment. No text messages, though. I think this could be a great salon, but changes are sorely needed. read more

He is fun, stylish, chatty and talented. He's always on-time, prepared and never makes you feel like he's in a hurry. The salon itself has taken measures to keep safe during Covid, I haven't ever felt like it wasn't comfortable to be there. worst experience of my life. I went in with blonde hair asking for highlights and a cut. I went to Koji. It was my first time at this location. I left with BROWN hair - 3.5 hours later. It was horrific. No communication as to what in earth went wrong! Bad product combined with total failure and lack of communication and skills on part of stylist. A total nightmare. The initial highlights had a pink hue (this was after he had me in the sink for 15 minutes and was putting lord knows what on me. He then said, "I'm sorry... I need to fix..." back the sink. Multiple variius washes... more ?? Colour!? And him saying "I'm not going to charge you". Ok. I had NO IDEA what he was doing. Then 35 min later had brings me back to chair and my hair is BROWN!! o m g. W t h!? I will never set foot in there ever again. Worst nightmare. I have damaged hair and I have to wait months to fix this. I have a wedding to go to in a month And Koji ruined my hair. I have very stubborn hair and very protective of who touches it. I have been going to PR at Partners in Friendship Heights since 2013. The first balayage I ever got done was here, with Mitchell who is no longer there because he's so good he's now an Assistant hairstylist for big celebrities like J-Lo and Kim K. I cannot promise you'll get a stylist that go on to being star hairstylist (I hope they get to reach whatever dreams they want), but my new stylist Rachelle is just as good. I went with a new stylist before her to do a balayage and she did a choppy job. However, I expressed to Rachelle what happened to me, and the PR Manager gave me a complimentary haircut and color treatment. With Rachelle doing the cutting and colors of course. She's great, and very attentive. Some people like to yap when they cut people's hairs. I want full relaxation and Rachelle focuses on haircuts not gossiping. More importantly, lesson learned if you don't like what's on your head don't feel bad, and speak sooner than later (I am not one to complain and give service professionals a hard time, but sometimes you have to be honest). They tend to fix it on the spot rather than wait three months later for your next appointment. If you're good about expressing your needs it's likely you'll be matched with a stylist who fits your needs. read more

I visited this location to get a simple trim and a buzz of my undercut. I was put with a fairly expensive stylist, Mark, who I was assured had tons of familiarity with undercuts (they're not that hard, but do require precision). Instead, Mark shaved my undercut extremely sloppily and not at the length that I had requested, necessitating me to go somewhere else and get it fixed. When I called the salon to mention this, the person on the phone made it very clear she had no interest in discussing it, not even bothering to acknowledge that I had a bad experience. Will definitely be going somewhere else for all my hair needs -- what's the point of paying for a haircut if it's so sloppy you have to pay to get it redone??? read more

The Yelp Pretty Party made me do it... So let me explain. I recently got a blunt bob hairstyle, which was cute for like a minute. I quickly discovered this was not a good option for thick curly hair, and it was a hot mess growing out. I had layers cut in so it would grow out nicely, but I felt a little boyish with the cut. I don't care what other women say that cutting your hair short will make it more manageable and lower maintenance. Short hair is the highest maintenance hair ever, it involves lots blowdrying, styling and you can't pull it back. And if you get caught in the rain for one minute, forget all that hard work. So when I met Maggie at the Yelp Pretty Party, she blow out my short hair in such a cute way to compliment the layers, and I liked what she had to say at the color consultation. I booked an emergency highlights with Maggie (I had six inches of roots) and she took time to show me the ideal colors in pictures. I let her know that in summer, since I surf alot my dark brown hair becomes an entirely different color and how to work with that. In the end, I had three colors woven into my hair, so from a distance it looks as though I have all over shiny auburn hair, just shade lighter than my natural (I think, I don't remember what my natural color is actually). The whole process was amazing, they offered me tea, I had a great time talking to Maggie about Miami nightlife, but the best part was the shampoo. At some point the conversation went as follows: Maggie: So I used to be a massage therapist, is the pressure ok for the head and neck massage? Me: (eyes roll to back of head) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...... I would go here just for the hypnotizing shampoo head and neck massages alone. In the end, I got a great discount from the Yelp party, even bought some Morrocan oil (which is a miracle oil by the way), I stood out in the rain for ten minutes today, still have stick straight hair. I was nervous since my last cut left me with an awful overly layered mess but Saronda listened to my concerns, hair history and what I wanted. Went in today to have a consultation with Frank to get hair extensions put in. This is my first time doing it (in the past I used clip in extensions because...well...I am cheap! :p) But after the clip in ones started getting seriously gross after 6 months, and I got tired of putting them in all the time- I finally decided to take the plunge and get them done as part of my Spring Cleaning regime (it has nothing to do with my house-- and everything to do with manis, pedis, waxing...the works) YAY- I love this time of year...anyway- I digress... During my consultation, Frank talked with me about length, straight or wavy and color. He showed me the products that I would have to buy to maintain the hair and discussed the Do's and Don'ts to make sure I didn't ruin it after making the investment in time and money. We discussed how the extensions will be attached, how long it takes (4 hours) , etcetera etcetera.... I felt really comfortable that he and I were on the same page. I'm really excited to make my re-acquaintance with long luscious hair again!! I am definitely a salon hopper, and this was my latest choice. My stylist here was Olivia, who is very friendly and not overbearing. I wanted to have a more "natural" look to my fake blond hair -- if that is even really possible. Olivia did a great job with the color, and an even better job with the cut. My hair has a lot more pizazz now, and I appreciate that. It was also not ridiculously expensive -- cut and highlights were $180. UPDATE/NOTE: You have to check and double check that the receptionist has booked you correctly. I made an appointment for a cut and color, but the receptionist only put me down for the color -- meaning my stylist was completely booked and couldn't cut my hair. This seems to happen a lot in chain hair salons, so be careful! Even if you are very clear when you call initially, you still need to double check a day or two before the appointment. read more

In August, I went to see Niki. I had seen her two months prior, and she had given me a great haircut, as well as professional and respectful service. For my August appointment, I scheduled it the day before I went abroad for 4 months, therefore it would be the last haircut I had for a while. The appointment was scheduled for 6:15, but I had mistakenly thought it was 6:30. I got an appointment reminder at 6:15 and was startled to see I remembered incorrectly. I started driving (I live 10 mins away) and immediately called them to let them know I was going to be slightly late. They told me if I got there any later than 6:30 my appointment would be cancelled and I'd be charged a fee. No exaggeration, I arrived at 6:31. Niki was waiting at the desk and was extremely hostile. She told me she had never even seen me before so there was no possible way she could fit me in (mind you, for a simple trim of an inch or less on very manageable hair). After reminding her she had in fact seen me very recently, telling her this was a simple mistake, and essentially having to beg for 10 minutes because I was leaving the country, she reluctantly agreed to cut my hair, but I regret allowing her to do this so much now. She was rushing far more than she needed to, and the result showed it (the appointment took less than 45 minutes including washing/drying -- which she didn't even do fully -- which was a shorter period than it needed to be accounting for my lateness). For months abroad, I had a very uneven and botched haircut. Niki, please find some compassion in your heart for simple human error. I've worked in the service industry so I understand how frustrating the inconveniences of guests can be, but my being 16 minutes late did not warrant your rudeness. I only gave two starts out of respect of my first haircut and the price point. But I will never come back to PR at Partners again. read more

I've been stewing over writing this review since the Spring. Stewing over it so much that I could barely make myself open up yelp because of the anxiety of writing this review was too much to bear. I give negative reviews when places deserve them, but a haircut is such a personal thing I didn't want my rage and intense dissatisfaction keep me from an honest review of this salon. I have great respect for people who work in the service industry--as only someone who's worked in the service industry can. But this..... This. I came here for a yelp elite event and was talked into coming back for a haircut even though the free makeup and hair styling was pretty under-whelming. I'd been needing a haircut, but I have a tendency to be very very picky about haircuts and hence, when I move it is a tortuous process to find one I trust. I'd been back in DC for about a year and a half and my hair was long and split-ended and in desperate need of a cut. I'd chickened out every time I thought of going in for a haircut. A good one costs a lot of money. Correction: Going to a good salon costs a lot of money, and USUALLY that is where you get the good cuts. But I had a little money off coupon and I thought "What the hell, it's only hair, it grows back." Never think these things. They aren't true. Haircuts are worth full price. ALWAYS. I came in and of course it is lovely and everyone is nice and chatty and friendly and the salon itself looks great. I was seen right away, so far so good. 1st of all: I got a lame shampoo. No fancy head massage like they promise. 2ndly: I was immediately bombarded by my stylist about color and what kind I should get and blah blah blah---even though I repeatedly said that I was not interested in color and that I did my own and I was very happy with it. NO THANK YOU. *sigh* She kept at it though, off and on throughout the whole haircut. 3rdly: She talked over me when I talked about what I wanted her to do, she was trying to be all friendly and chatty but it was coming off as obnoxious and rude. Especially since I was trying to tell her how I wanted my hair! Like many stylists, she didn't believe me when I said that I wanted a certain kind of cut. I like it simple, without too many layers, and no choppy bangs. I SAID NO CHOPPY BANGS DAMN IT!!!! ugh. Long story short the next thing I know my hair is too short, my bangs are super choppy, and when I get home and brush out my hair (she used product, just like I asked her not to) I realize it is all kinds of uneven!!!!! I was very stressed about it. But I didn't want the equivalent of a waiter spitting in my food if I went back for a fix cut with a chick who felt she needed to hug me after running off at the mouth for 45 minutes and not doing her job right. And then I got a call, from their PR dept. or some such, and they ask their customers to review their experience. Well, I let them have it. Up and down. The next day I get a call from the salon with an offer for me to come in to have it fixed. I told them I would only do it if I could have another stylist. They agreed and I set the appt. When I came back the experience started off better. I got my awesome head massage and my stylist really seemed to be listening to me.... and when she started cutting she was very focused on detail and super careful. BUT. She does this crazy thing to my hair. I want her to fix the mess, yes, and it is short yes; so I'm getting a bob. I ask her to cut it so that it curls under on its own (like a good bob cut should) and she pulls the hair up from all but the bottom 4 inches of my scalp and proceeds to cut the bottom stuff SO SHORT that I start to panic. It isn't bob short, its high-n-tight short. I say something and she gives me this line about how full it will make my hair look and how much I'll love it. *sigh* It seems okay at first. It feels a bit weird, but it does look okay.....kinda.....much better than it was, that's for sure. Oh yeah, and she gave me CHUNKY BANGS. I hate that. But as it grows out, UGH. The short hair underneath starts getting all wonky and uncomfortable and .... oh man, I ended up having to go somewhere else yet again, and they did a decent job (that's another review) but it grew out weird. I really really needed a new stylist after I left the one in Dupont Circle that had a drug problem, and taking a chance with the students at Aveda (first cut was great, second cut was not ideal). I checked out some Yelp reviews and the reviews online for stylists, and I decided to try Dawn at this location. Note on the location - the entrance to the salon is on Jenifer St, but there is an awkward little hallway from the Mazza Gallerie that will lead you there too. When I walked in, the front desk was very friendly, offered me tea, coffee or water, and had me fill out a pretty extensive form about what style I liked, what method I prefer to style my hair, what I've disliked about previous hair cuts, etc. Dawn was on time and wonderful. She really listened to my concerns and what I wanted to have done (and made sure it worked for my face too). I was in and out in an hour with bouncy hair and was super satisfied. The real test of any haircut, IMHO, is what it looks like the next day - and it definitely passed the test! read more

I don't know about the 'we' in his statement, but if anyone has the Midas touch in Washington, it's certainly Frank of PR&Partners. Having known me for about 10 years now, Frank was the first person who saw my teary facade on my return from LA in 2002 where I went to the famed 'Farah Fawcett' salon in Beverly Hills, thinking that the priciest place would be able to take me from my gothic black locks into a free-spirited blonde that I had been all my life. I was wrong. After crying for three weeks (and spending just about that much in salary to have it done), I went dark again within a month and have been nervous ever since to try to lighten. Until Frank. I actually reside in San Francisco, where cool, effortless blonde is the color-of-the-moment. Yet, it was only Frank with whom I'd trust with my tresses. Landing in DC for a mere 48 hours on a layover from a trip South, Frank agreed to meet me on his day off (godblesshissoul) and told me wild anecdotes of DC, reality cast members, the club scene, Lady Gaga, and continued to fill my cup of coffee that I clutched like a child. And 6 painless (and humorous!) hours later, I emerged a BEAUTIFUL natural blonde that has had people turning their heads in the terminal home. And knowing me-- I'm not really a 'natural girl' --Frank chose a color that would equally please my mother as well as myself. (With a little powder and some dark lipstick I easily can transition into my True Blood-self). And the best part? Well, the Lady Gaga story was the best part. But the second best part? This cost me the price of a hair cut in the Bay Area. Frank is a godsend. I'll be back for more bleach and Nitzer Ebb over the holidays. read more

I blame our amazing CM, Tara, for being an enabler. I swear that I'm a loyal gal. A serial monogamist. But that Tara...she keeps encouraging me to stray, and I am only human. First, it was the "Hawt on Yelp 2010"...and I cheated on my normal stylist with a salon on the list. The longing in my eyes for a hair cut to tame my rat's nest of a head...the "oh damn girl, when was the last time you had a treatment on your hair" steamy look in his eyes...I couldn't fight it. We were destined to be. I gave in and made an appointment...and felt so dirty for cheating on my regular stylist not once, but now, TWICE. But I won't stray again...because James from PR at Partners has won my heart and I will never stray from him (well, until instigator Tara dangles another beauty night in front of my eyes). To start with, James was running late and had the receptionist call me ASAP to let me know, so I wouldn't be sitting and waiting for him. Wow! Talk about awesome service! Then I came in, and (embarassingly - the staff all remembered me from the Yelp event...was I really *that* loud? Hahaha...do I have to ask?!) James immediately wisked me into his chair. One touch of my unconditioned hair, and he looked like he was going to cry. Before I could say another word, he had me in the shampoo girl's chair and giving her instructions to give me a hot conditioning treatment...all the while, he was whimpering "oh lord what does that girl wash her hair with...a sand blaster?!?". After my hair was properly conditioned, we sat down for a chat about my hair. For all my crazy ways - I'm incredibly apathetic about my hair. I mostly want it easy to maintain, and nothing too insane (I am a good little corporate soldier after all). Cause honestly, if I want my hair to look fabulous - I just put on a wig. James gave a deep sigh, and listened to my needs (easy to maintain, out of my face, long enough to be pulled into a pony-tail...or easily tucked into a wig cap). And *BAM* he waves his magical wand...and he gave me one of the best cuts I've *EVER* received. No no...you have to understand. He gave me *almost* the same cut that my normal stylist does...but instead of torturing me with round brushes, flat irons and lectures about how my bangs need to be maintained every two weeks...he gave me a slightly choppy cut - one that looks youthful but not trendy...and he blew out my hair with only his fingers. Basically a wash and go kind of cut. It was the length that I wanted (no arguments about how my hair is too thick for long hair), he gave me lots of nice layers (without making them too short - which causes them to stick out in a halo around my head), and no lectures about bang maintenance! *AMAZING* Then at the end of it - James gave me an unexpected discount (because I was at the Yelp event, so he decided that was enough for a "referral" discount), and didn't once try to make me buy product! OMGZ!!! I would be 100% happy right now...but I just don't know how to tell my old stylist that I'm breaking up with him. It really isn't him. It's me. But when it's with someone as amazing as James...surely he'll understand? read more

I have never in my life cried over a bad haircut until today. I've had some bad haircuts before but never as infuriating as this experience. This haircut is beyond repair. There is nothing I can do to fix it, short of shaving my head. Hairstylist did NOT listen and she cut my bangs in the most unflattering way. I came with a picture, I gave specific requests, and I had to walk her through the fixes, yet it is still a disaster. Her hands were shaking the entire time and she kept repeating how she "will detail" my haircut because that's so important. Well, the detailing idea is great, but it does not fix a TERRIBLE haircut. She butchered my beautiful hair and I will NEVER step foot in that salon again. read more

I haven't wanted to write this review because I hate when I can't get quick appointments with my stylist. But, she deserves the praise so here it goes... I can sort of sympathize with some of the negative reviews which is why my review is 4 stars. The entrance to the shop IS a little weird and the salon isn't something to write home about. HOWEVER, Dawn is worth it. I for the first two years that I lived here, I went to colorists/stylists at Immortal Beloved (fail) and one80 (awesome until my colorist went back home...huge bummer), both supposedly top tier salons in DC which wasn't the case. I am not an easy customer. I change my hair color with the season. I want someone who can take me from platinum to brown without any brass and everything in between. My biggest issue, which is one that basically no one can grasp, is that I like my hair ashy. Like almost grey ashy. And then I want an amazing haircut to top it off. Usually, I have a colorist and a stylist because I want someone who really knows color and someone who really knows cuts. By recommendation of a friend, I went to Dawn. When I saw her over the summer, I explained my ash infatuation and that if she messed with the length of my hair, it would be a problem. And I wanted to be more blonde than the medium blonde I already was and I just wanted my layers cleaned up without taking much off the length. That cut and color lasted me 4 months (not the usual month and a half) and my hair looked the same length only healthier than when I first went in. 4 months! And I loved it everyday. Just before Christmas, I asked her to make me a brunette. Again, an ashy brunette (which isn't terribly easy and with the wrong person can look green). Not only was it an ashy brown when I walked out, it washed out beautifully. I can't say enough about Dawn's talent and highly recommend her. read more

I had heard about sugaring, did some research on it and found that this PR at Partners is one of the only places (if not the only place) in the area that does it. I booked an appointment about two weeks ahead of time with Angela. They were ready for me right away when I got there. Angela explained to me how sugaring worked and the benefits over waxing. It significantly less painful than waxing, which I'm sure is part due to the sugar mixture, but mostly her technique. Angela was really personable and professional. I will most definitely be going back. I would recommend seeing Angela for any of your sugaring or waxing needs! read more

Shannon spent a lot of time with me discussing my hair and made sure I was OK with the cut every step of the way. She gave me tips about the best products for me without pushing me to buy anything. I love my cut - my hair looks 10 times healthier and fuller. And to top it all off, the price was extremely reasonable. As for the salon, it was bustling on a Saturday afternoon, but everyone was friendly and efficient. It was clear that many of the stylists have loyal clients whom they know by name. To be fair I've only been to PR at Partners a handful of times, and I keep going back in the hopes it will get better. No luck thus far. I love the convenient location (right off the Friendship Heights metro) and the upscale ambiance, but this salon is always slightly disappointing. I have had my hair cut, but I usually go in for blow outs. The actual results are fine, but the front desk staff is never very friendly or organized, and the last time I went in they checked me in but didn't tell me who was my stylist (I said I would take whoever was available), and didn't tell me if I should sit and wait or go to the person's chair. I was left standing aimlessly for several minutes until someone finally came up to me. The other issue is that every time I've gotten my hair blown out it is SO painful! I've tried different stylists and they all have yanked on my hair and are not too gentle with the flat iron. OUCH! The bottom line is that I wouldn't count this salon out for last minute appointments, but I wouldn't make this my regular go-to place. read more

Gregg is the master of a style that can be worn in multiple ways. I came in to the salon with locks long over due for a cut. Tangles all day and waves I wanted but couldn't achieve. I was desperate for something new, but didn't want to give up on my length achievement, well past my shoulders. Previously I was a pixie girl - mohawk girl who has spent the last 4 years growing this hair. Gregg lopped off my offensive ends, gave me a perfect layers to frame my face and allow my waves to bounce up, that terrible scraggly bell shape I'd been sporting is long gone! If I want a polished look all I have to do allow to air dry, brush it out and touch up with my flat iron. With a quick comb out my fringe air dries perfectly since every hair was cut to lay it its proper place. I can dry the roots and diffuse for still amazing to me wave and movement. This cut makes me want to do my hair and when I don't it does STILL me right! I already loved Gregg for his help in the initial stages of my grow out. We went from pixie to awesome shag, by passing the bob I'd had a gazillion times completely. Now I know he is truly a hair God. Thank you for believing in my wave, as a previously flat limp straight haired girl I couldn't be more excited by this development! If you have a wave hiding that you can't quite figure out Gregg is your guy. read more

I wish I could avoid going to this salon because 1) it is pretty much an upscale hair factory, 2) it is really pricey, 3) I don't live in DC anymore. However! The hitch that keeps drawing me back is because Sandra (Sandy) does an amazing job - cut and, especially, color! Every time she does my hair I think it's even better than the time she did it before! She is very friendly and really "gets it" and is really good at seeing (beforehand) what will flatter your looks best while still keeping it somewhat edgy. She has been on maternity leave for a bit, so I can't say if she's accessible at the moment. The reason for the 4-stars is because I don't like much about the salon/customer service/price... All the stars go to wonderful Sandy! read more

I went to Saronda for the first time for a haircut and Balayage (hand-painted) highlights. I've been getting my hair highlighted since I was 16 (I am now 35), and I've never been so pleased with the color nor has anyone been able to achieve such a natural look until now. Saronda gave me a lengthy consultation to ensure I would get just what I wanted. She did a great job on my haircut and blowout as well. Definitely make sure that you allot ample time for your appointment though, because she is meticulous. read more

I made an appointment to get my hair dyed with one of the stylist. When I came in i brought several pictures of the color that i wanted. Not one, not two, but like 10. I wanted to go from being a brunette (medium brown) to J. Lo blonde. The stylist told me that she didn't want to make me too light the first time around but would lighten me up a bit and add highlights. She showed me the colors she chose which were not as light as I wanted , but much lighter than the end result. The color shes selected were light brown for the over all color and blondish highlights. I trusted her recommendations because I know how damaging bleach can be on hair. Once she was done, all I could see where large round patches at my scalp.I was horrified, even the stylist could see that I was supper disappointed by the look on my face. Some toner latter, my color still looked awful. She wanted to style it but I told her not to because I had been there for 3 hours alreday and I was dissatisfied with my results. She told me she would "fix" the problem if I came in another day. So I agreed and made an appointment. In the meantime, I came in the salon a brunette and left out a brunette with my hair in the exact same style, a slightly damp ponytail. After thinking about it, I decided not to go back and let her fix . Why? Because 1. I brought several pictures of what I wanted and the end result looked NOTHING like my examples.2. My hair had already been through enough trauma with the first dye job. 3. If she didn't get it right the first time, why would I think she would get it right a 2nd time? Second times a charm? Not when it comes to my hair! Fool me once, I won't give you the opportunity to fool me again! The only reason why I gave this place two stars instead of one is because she did offer to try and fix the problem and she didn't charge me for the service because of how dissatisfied I was. As much as I wanted to give her a 2nd chance, my mind and my hair just wouldn't allow it. Not to mention I've been to the salon several times for a sugar wax ( which is amazing by the way) and I have seen several clients walk out with amazing color. read more

Gregg is a good hairstylist but I had some concerns about his timeliness and customer service. Both times I came in for an appointment with Gregg, he was at least 45 minutes late finishing up with another customer. He never acknowledged or apologized that he was running late. I also found it odd that the reception did not call me beforehand to let me know so I could come in a little later. On the second visit he tried to have an assistant blow dry my hair. Luckily she was about to take her lunch break so that didn't happen. Having scheduled an appointment with Gregg and not the assistant, not sure why he would ask her to blow dry my hair. read more

I've been coming here since I was 18 (for about 14yrs). Two years ago I made an apt and it was rescheduled for over a month later because of snow. This was the first apt I have ever been a no show because I became very sick with mono and had forgotten my apt and wasn't well enough to call and cancel. I just tried to make an apt and was told I was not able to see Dawn anymore because I didn't show for one apt in the entire 14 years I've been coming to this salon. I've also referred countless people and will be sure to tell them about my most recent experience, not to mention I was never informed of a no show policy. Leah's deft scissor-hands get my first five star review. I had all but given up hope of finding a hairdresser in DC. My curly hair has always required a knowing eye to keep it in its place, but since arriving in this humid marsh-land the challenge worsened. But whilst the necessity for artful layering had increased, I found myself repeatedly the recipient of heavy-handed blunt cuts. And finally, I met Leah. I heart Leah. She really took the time to find out, not just what I thought I wanted, but also about my style more generally, and how my hair needed to work with my lifestyle. She was honest and realistic. She gave me options, and a plan. And then she executed the plan wonderfully. She guided me through the style and how I could play with it at home. Worth every penny. read more

It was a wonderful day when I discovered PR Partners. I was new to the area and in horrible need of of a haircut. I was desperate so I called up the salon a few blocks from my apartment to see if it was possible to come in for an appointment later that day. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to be squeezed in that afternoon and even happier when I arrived and found that I had been booked with Eddie (now at ILO in Georgetown) who actually understood how to work with my thin hair. I was devastated to learn that Eddie was leaving, but just couldn't bring myself to spend $90 on a haircut (if you are - Eddie is great) so I stuck with PR and was again very happy with my stylist, Stephanie. She always listens to what I want, but will offer up her advice, and I'm comfortable enough with her now that I usually give her general guidance and then let her do whatever she wants. 3 years later and I'm still happy at PR Partners. I've never felt pressured to get services I didn't want or buy products I don't need (unlike other salons I've been to). I've always been pleased with the front desk staff, and have been lucky to never have problems booking appointments. I can't speak to other locations, but I highly recommend the Mazza PR Partners! read more
