Grilled calamari and bread for the table
    Nadine J.

I've been here three times and everytime, the food and service has always been great. We love how they give you bread for the table while you wait for your food to come. For the appetizers, order the grilled calamari! I've ordered this twice before and I will continue to order it (as long as it's on their menu lol). I have ordered their pasta, pizzas and focaccia's, and nothing has disappointed. The only complaint I have is that when we received our bread basket, there was an empty butter container put back into the bread.

Ice Cream Patio Ltd. should not be call Ice Cream patio.. as there are really limited choices in gelato selections.. around 8.. and the patio itself is really small facing the parking lot... not my type of patio! :) The restaurant was empty with just 2 table occupied.. I just want some ice cream and a cappuccino.. I didn't feel to welcome as the waiter reluctantly gave in on my request of having my scoop and coffee served in proper dishware! My bill was put on my table the same time when my food was served... Gelato di nocciola ($3) - Since I love hazelnut, Nocciola is always my default gelato of choice. Especially here where the choice is so limited - nice and creamy and full of flavour without being way too sweet Cappuccino ($4) - surprising smooth and tasty.... and the milk was nicely frothed! Ice Cream Patio also serves pizza in their wood burning stove... and other traditional pasta and meat dishes... I might come back for their food.. but I don't know if I can stand the indifference attitude of the wait staffs! Maybe I should have been used to it from my share of experience with Chinese establishments!

I have mixed reviews on this caprese salad. It tasted good, however the presentation needs work. Tomatoes are cut WAY TOO THICK.

So a girlfriend and I went here last week because we were craving pizza. First google maps brought us to the old location so it took us a little longer to find the place. We started with the caprese salad. The tomatoes were thickly cut. Now for me I like consistency and it really bothered me that it wasn't. Also the pesto was a little harder to find because of the giant pile of greens they placed in the middle. We also ordered the gnocchi and an arugula pizza. These we great to the taste. I would have to add that chilli paste they serve with the bread is amazing. Service was rather slow at the start, it took a while for us to be asked if we wanted anything to drink. By that time we already knew what we wanted to order.

Service extremely slow but the food too good! We went during early lunch time to beat the lunch traffic and order fist. We made a reservation as we were a big group. If you been to Italy, the service is just like in Italy relaxed and slow. But when it came to food it was worth the wait. I ordered a one of the chicken pizza but got the chicken removed as I eat halal meat. The reason I ordered this pizza as the topping were much better then their vegetarian or sea food option. The pizza included zucchini, red peppers and mushrooms. The pizza was made with love and I loved it. We also tried their Gelato and it was quite good and yummy. Then to top it all up we got an espresso macchiato shot and it was quite smooth, strong and very nice.

This is one of the only places that offers fire oven pizza in Toronto. And it's one of the best pizzas I have had to date. We ordered the boneless fried chicken strips as an appetizer. The chicken was flavourful and crispy. Then came the pizzas ! We ordered the artichoke ham pizza and a green pepper chicken pizza. The pizzas were around the same size as a small pizza you'd get from chain pizza restaurants. However, the crust was thin and crispy. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Food was great, server was amazing even though we were just a party of 2 and he was simultaneously handling a family of 12, celebrating a Birthday. Ordered the Patio Grigliata, even the vegetables and mashed potatoes were cooked to perfection. Wasn't too much of a fan of the pasta in the Chicken Parmesan, but the chicken itself was really good. The Nutella spread with bananas on the dessert pizza was deelish and their Bacio ice cream made in store was to die for!!! My overall impression of the place was fabulous mainly because of the service we received and their authenticity of flavours (minus the pasta) My only suggestion if you're planning on visiting is to visit in the afternoons over the weekend because I've passed by this place a few times in the evening and they're generally packed with a huge line-up, which could change your experience of this place. You will get better service and food quality when they're not as rushed and overwhelmed with the crowds.

He's in his twilight years of working so these days he mostly spends his time making his own red wine from scratch, hunting turkeys, and growing vegetables in his garden. He clears the vibe check. I'm yapping now, but all this to say he picked Il Gatto E La Volpe for dinner so I knew this food was gonna SMACK. We started with margherita pizzas for the table, arrancini, calamari, and a couple bottles of red wine picked by Uncle Dan. My Mom got the gnocchi bolognese, which I knew I would get 80% of as she eats like a mouse, so I went with the Florentine steak. I hate to be corny and say "everything was sensational," but everything was sensational so Imma leave it at that. My favorites were the gnocchi bolognese and arrancini though, as I had never seen gnocchi bolognese on a menu. It honestly should be a more common dish. I'm making a prediction that by 2029, gnocchi bolognese will be a standard item on all Italian menus. Service was great, vibes were up, and this was just a great place to enjoy some much needed family time over some red wine. These haters got me stressed. SHOUTOUT TO UNCLE DAN! Food (3.75/5) - they have a good selection of items on the menu and a couple of specials of the day as well. - Vitello ai Funghi - veal cutlets in a seared assorted mushroom and white wine sauce. It was just ok imo... the veal was a bit chewy and not tender as I was expecting. Sauce is ok bit understated. - Tortellini alla Bolognese - veal filled tortellini in a homemade Bolognese sauce. This was a nice dish with a nice flavourful Bolognese and tortellini cooked properly. - Cozze Marinara - mussels in a marinara sauce with garlic, onion and herbs. This rating is based on a casual dining restaurant experience…read more 3 of us came in for dinner on a Thursday night. I made the reservation in advance and wasn't sure what to expect. The place has been here for years but this was my first visit. It's located in a plaza on the south side of Hwy 7 so there's private parking. As you come in, there's the bar and the entrances to both the main and private party dining rooms. We were quickly greeted and given our choice of seating in either room, as the private party room had only a small birthday party in a little section. We could enjoy a colder temperature in the private room, or average room temperature in the main room where it would be less noisy. We chose the main room and it wasn't uncomfortable. Our host provided our menus and gave a choice of bottled, mineral, or tap water. Tap water in stemmed glasses with ice was fine with us. To my surprise, it came with a full basket of complimentary bread, butter and spicy oil. I have not seen this for years and we appreciated it. We ordered a rice balls (4 pcs) appetizer which came with marinara. They were a good size and had some cheese pull. Our entrees were a Ricky pizza (one of their 20 specialty pizzas); chicken parmigiana; and home made pappardelle with chicken and pesto cream sauce. Our orders were served within a few minutes of each other, all huge, and piping hot. We were offered additional grated cheese tableside. Besides our host, the owner (I assume) came round to serve my husband's Montecristo cocktail and wish him a happy birthday. He continued to check in along the way as well. This restaurant reminds me of being in Calabria at eateries just like this, meaning, the Italian equivalent of the British neighbourhood pub experience. There are families with children who may roam, groups of ladies getting together for a meal, singles having their pizza and beer after work, all in a space that somehow makes you aware of being connected in your mealtime. The food is what you may remember enjoying as a kid at your Italian friend's house: nonna's home made everything, from the bread and oil to the pasta and tomato sauce. It's not fancy, it's plentiful and hearty home food. The tomato sauce is fresh, exactly what all my family produces from their own jarred tomatoes. My chicken was cooked through without being dry. The pizza was nicely crisp and charred, straight from their wood oven. The pesto cream pappardelle was delicious, with plentiful pieces of grilled chicken. Both my daughter and I had half our meals left to enjoy later. You can order half portions for half the price. My husband managed to devour his whole pizza. He even ate the crust - which he never does. We didn't order wine or dessert as that was waiting at home. I didn't think to check if they offer any prosecco besides the basic wine list but their website is very well done, so I will look again, because I would definitely return. It will be like being back in my family town in Italy.

Although we're not from Toronto and had never been to this restaurant before, our friends had booked a large section of the venue for over 30 guests--so we really didn't know what to expect. What followed was nothing short of amazing. We started the evening with some beautifully crafted cocktails. The drinks were delicious, and our waiter was quick to offer creative twists on our usual favourites--setting the tone for the night ahead. When it came time to sit down for dinner, the experience only got better. They kept bringing out plate after plate until we could barely move! The food was phenomenal: every dish was full of flavour, perfectly served at the right temperature, and visually stunning. A special shoutout to our waiter, Alex. He was outstanding--attentive without being intrusive, always ensuring our glasses were full and that every new course arrived with perfect timing.
