I got the churro sundae with a scoop of tres leche and a scoop of tequila ice cream. The warm churro was delicious with the cool ice cream. Also got a medium Reese's and the serving was quite generous and the ice cream was tasty. I sampled the tamarind and taro and I will definitely be getting a scoop of the taro next time.

The portions were very disappointing as we each requested a flight of three scoops for $6.25 for a flight. The scoops were so small that they were truly a taster amount. As can be seen in one of the photos, an entire scoop of ice cream fit on a plastic spoon. I was excited to try the unique flavors offered but the quality and pricing/serving size takes Flamingo off my list of go to ice cream shops.

They took what Grandpa's did, ran with it, and took it to a whole new level. And they're still one of a handful of places in the Twin Cities that actually makes their own ice cream. You really can't beat that for flavor and quality. All of the ice cream (and sorbet) is made in house with a small creamery in the back kitchen. They have a LOT of flavors, many of which are unique and one-of-a-kind. And they're constantly coming up with new varieties. In addition, they sell cookies, chocolates, and candies. I personally think the coolest thing in the shop was their soda chilling machine thingy--you pop your glass bottle drinks inside, and it chills them down in just a few minutes! (I left mine in an extra couple of minutes to turn it into a slushie, which was so perfect on a hot day). While we waited for our drinks to get ice-cold, we wandered through their massive candy selection. They have everything from nostalgic, old-school retro candies to fun new treats. Once our sodas were ready, we went to the back to play pinball, which was a total blast! Be careful if you bring the kiddies, I feel like you'll be spending a lot of money! This is such a great spot to take out-of-town family and friends for a fun afternoon. The food area wasn't open while we were there, but that just gives us a great excuse to come back soon!

Today I enjoyed a scoop of the "Tres Leches" ice cream in a cup, which was recommended by the ice cream lady. The ice cream is so smooth, creamy...and the flavor was so refreshing and not too sweet. Such a nice surprise and I am so delighted about this discovery! I loved every lick of my spoon and I can't wait to try other flavors. LOVE!
