Awesome experience…read more I used Eastern as an FFL to pick up a handgun I bought online. Easy-peasy and reasonable transfer fee. We and my wife both took the CCW class here and had an awesome experience. Very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I'd anticipated a very long boring weekend class but the instructors were fun and engaging. Nick, Tyler and Mellisa were awesome.

Very unprofessional and untrustworthy experience. TK Defense transferred firearms to Eastern Armory…read moreso I could legally take possession of them. Eastern Armory then offered $500 total for three high-value firearms and repeatedly tried to buy the .300 Blackout AR pistol after I declined. Less than an hour later, they claimed they were "not comfortable" completing the transfer and turned all firearms over to Montgomery County Police and State Police without providing clear reasoning or documentation. I received conflicting information, poor follow-up, and no real assistance in resolving what happened. Be very cautious dealing with this business. I do not trust this place and would advise others to be very cautious. Don't Recommend! REPLY TO NICK-BUSINESS OWNER-12/14/2025 Thank you, Nick, for responding. I appreciate the responsibility you have as an FFL to ensure lawful and safe transfers, and I understand the need for caution. However, several important clarifications should have been communicated to me clearly and directly at the time, rather than after the fact. The "prohibited person" you reference is my brother, which should have been obvious, as we share the same last name. TK Defense was fully aware of this as well. When I made statements such as "let me check with my brother," "my brother will come with me," or "my brother will drive me to the store," I was not referring to that brother. I have more than one brother. The brother I was referring to also holds a valid Maryland HQL (Nick, call me if you need to verify this), is knowledgeable about those firearms, and was simply someone I was consulting with and who would have accompanied me. Because the transaction was halted before I ever arrived, any assumption that I intended to bring a prohibited person into the transfer process is speculative and unverified. I understand precaution; however, precaution should be grounded in facts, not assumptions. Additionally, I want to note that a woman consulting with a male about firearms does not equate to a straw purchase or transfer. Given the increasing number of African American women lawfully engaging in firearm ownership, it is important that lawful behavior not be mischaracterized simply because guidance or assistance is sought. I also want to add that I figured out your speculation, as someone from the store called me more than 10 times within a single hour. During the first call, based on saying the word "items", he stated, "I figure you are around people and can not talk". That same individual acknowledged this, yet called nine additional times in a row. He was acting like I sat around doing straw purchase/transfer for others as a full-time job, as if I didn't have a full-time job.

Sadly, I am unable to leave a review with 0 stars…read more I attended the 3-night security training course with Security Training Academy and the experience was extremely unprofessional. Within the first portion of the class, the instructor clearly stated that taking pictures of the slides was allowed (no video or audio recording). That guidance directly contradicted what happened on the second night, when an individual who later claimed to be the owner abruptly interrupted the class and aggressively singled me out by name, threatening to remove me for doing exactly what we had been told was permitted. There was no attempt to clarify policy, no professionalism, and no respect shown. The situation escalated unnecessarily and created a hostile learning environment. I deescalated and continued the course, but the damage to the overall experience was already done. To make matters worse, once that individual left, the instructor admitted that we had, in fact, been told photos were allowed and apologized. That inconsistency and lack of leadership speaks volumes. As someone who coordinates trainings for a large security company and was actively evaluating potential providers, I can say this experience alone disqualified this organization from consideration. Consistency, professionalism, and clear communication are basic expectations for any training environment, and this fell short on all three. I would not recommend.

My wife brought me to GUNTRY for my birthday, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with a simulation session, which was so cool. I am already planning to do it again. The shock pack that zaps you when you get hit is wild. It is a little crazy, but honestly really fun to try. We spent an hour at the range afterward. It is definitely loud and a bit tight, but it gets the job done. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful the whole time. The retail shop is huge too, with tons of firearms and accessories to browse. We ended the night at their cigar and whisky event, and that was a great time. The whisky was strong and plentiful, and dinner was delicious. It was all catered in house by the cafe. Pricing is pretty reasonable overall. Their lesson rates seem lower than a lot of other places I have seen, although I have not had a chance to take one yet. My only complaint is that I wish it were closer. I live in DC, so it is definitely a trek, but it was worth the drive.
