We did go the day after there was a malfunction with one of the larger rides. That part of the park was closed. But it didn't stop us from enjoying the rest of it. Maybe this was why the lines for the rides weren't that bad. We were able to get right on most all of them and the girls were even able to do some rides multiple times. Lunchtime was in their little restaurant where we had pizza and I bought additional mozzarella sticks, which are actually very delicious. Funny enough, the highlight of the whole park was our souvenir cup, which you could go around refilling for the whole 2026 season. This included the Slurpees that are self-serve at two spots in the park. On a hot day, these Slurpees were really really good and giving us life. Most of the parents got them, but we use them again this season? Probably not, but it kinda added to the fun, and we all had a really great time.

I calmly explained to the girls working the window that if Adventureland advertises "free fathers for Father's Day", they probably ought not to exclude those of season ticket holders. The optic is that " we don't value the season ticket holders". This isn't the first time this year either. A recent outing for our daughter's grammar school would not admit season ticket holders to the event. I've been around long enough to remember when adults didn't automatically have to pay to enter the park. Seems that after Covid, Adventureland has taken a new philosophy to soak every dime they can from the public including at the expense of season ticket holders. Please change this.

If you were to choose between Rocking Horse Ranch and Great Wolf Lodge, it's an easy choice. Yes,…read moreRocking Horse Ranch is more expensive but there is an endless amount of activities for the kids to do. We came on the coldest weekend of the year but my kids had a blast skiing, snow tubing, horseback riding, pony rides, arcade, game room, playing laser tag, swimming in the pool, the outdoor hot tub, and the nightly shows. Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon. I guess we'll have to wait for another Black Friday deal.

While they are a bit older than the resort's main target audience, it ended up being a great fit, especially since they had never been horseback riding and hadn't skied before. Everyone had a great time. We stayed in the main building in a room with two queen beds and bunk beds. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable with soft mattresses and pillows. Temperature-wise, it was funny, my son and I were warm, while my wife and daughter were cold, so I guess that means the room temperature was just right. One thing to note: the walls are thin. You can definitely hear noise from nearby rooms and above. Since this is a family-focused resort, that's kind of expected. It didn't bother us, but if you're looking for total quiet, this may not be the place. Since it was midweek, there were discounts, and they even offered us on our last night an extra night for and even more discounted rate. We were ready to head home, but I would absolutely consider staying longer next time. The resort is all-inclusive, and the food was solid overall. * Breakfast was your typical buffet--scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, etc. They will cook eggs to order if you ask. * Lunch was buffet-style as well and changed daily. Not amazing, but it got the job done. * Dinner was my favorite meal and felt a bit higher quality, with multiple courses and limited menu options (which I actually liked). * Dessert was fun, especially the ice cream machine. One thing I noticed is that the food is served at a kid-friendly temperature, which took a little getting used to. I'm guessing they do this so kids don't get burned. The activities were the highlight. Skiing was fantastic because it was almost empty, there were only a few other people on the hill. Since I hadn't skied since the early 90s, it was great to have the space to fall a few times without worrying about others. The staff was extremely helpful and encouraging. The hill is more like a bunny slope, but honestly, it's perfect for beginners. If you spent a few days learning here, you'd feel confident going to a bigger mountain. Horseback riding was also great, and since it was midweek, we could have gone multiple times a day. The indoor/outdoor heated pool was really nice, and there's even a waterslide. A lot of the resort seems better suited for summer, and some things were closed for winter, but we came mainly for skiing, so that didn't bother us. The staff deserves a lot of credit. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and we never felt rushed. There's a saloon downstairs where they run games at night and offer a free drink of the night. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available. One small downside: when the dining areas close at night, soda machines aren't accessible, so you'd need to use vending machines (machines were coin only, so I couldn't use my Apple Pay), which felt a little odd for an all-inclusive resort. But, you can grab drinks to go while the dining room is open. On our last day, they let us do a late checkout since no one was checking into our room. We were able to grab lunch and head out without rushing, which was really appreciated. Definitely a lot more things I can talk about, but these were just the stand out things I remember. Overall: Rocking Horse Ranch is a great choice for families, beginners learning to ski, or anyone looking for a relaxed, all-inclusive getaway--especially midweek when it's quieter. It's not luxury, and it's definitely kid-focused, but it's fun, comfortable, and well-run. I'd absolutely go back.

Perhaps it's because of the sheer size of the mall or perhaps people were busy celebrating Mother's Day elsewhere, but it wasn't as busy or crowded as I would've expected. Although the food court wasn't packed, the wait for Jollibee was insane (probably a 25-35 minute wait). It was worth it though, I hope more malls in the U.S. have Jollibee. After eating, I explored the mall a bit. American Dream has a NHL-reuglate size ice skating rink (entrance is on the first floor, where you can also get the tickets). But what's wilder is the ski and snowboard resort - the first indoor snow resort in North America. I didn't go in but I could feel the chilliness from the condensation on the windows. There's also an NJ Hall of Fame, laser tag, Sesame Street Learn & Play, and Nickelodeon Universe inside. You can enter Nickelodeon Universe (no tickets needed) but you need to buy points to go on the rides. Even if you don't go on the rides, there are plenty of photo ops. I saw Spongebob and Squiward taking photos on a stage. Other cool things about American Dream: A ferris wheel called American Dream that allows you to see the NYC skyline, a Toys "R" Us train that goes around on one floor, and HMart. There is a fancier part of American Dream with high-end stores, too. I didn't come here for shopping though. Plenty of spots in the parking garage and it's $6 for each vehicle, though the first 15 minutes are free.

1 star - More Nightmare Than Dream…read more (But giving a 3 star since what was actually open was fun.) Took my daughter to American Dream Mall for her birthday weekend, expecting water slides and celebration shakes. What we got was a masterclass in disappointment. The water park was closed for electrical work. Fine -- things happen. So we headed to the shake shop to salvage the birthday with one of their fancy cake-topped frappés. Also closed. At this point the "dream" branding was starting to feel like false advertising. The hotel situation wasn't any better, not that the mall can be blamed for this. But fair warning to others who traveled as far as we did for this magical weekend. Pool closed for the entire weekend -- not for a quick cleaning, but pending state inspection results that could take "days to weeks." Called around to other hotels thinking we'd just move. Same story everywhere. Apparently post-Memorial Day weekend triggers mandatory state testing after high guest volume, and every pool in the area was in limbo. Nobody mentioned this when we booked. Back at the mall, the game room -- where the closed shake shop lives -- lost power entirely. And if that weren't enough, the fire alarm spent a good chunk of the afternoon flashing and blaring "there is a fire in the building, evacuate immediately" on repeat. Not once. Multiple times. So to recap: no water park, no birthday shake, no hotel pool, no game room, and a fire alarm that cried wolf so often we genuinely weren't sure whether to panic or just keep walking. Happy birthday, kid. At least the parking lot was open.

When we arrived, everything was up and running as if it were daytime. All the games, rides and attractions were in service. I rode Go Karts for the first time in yearrrs and I actually came in first place. Me! That was dope. The BIG FUN though was all the water rides. Lazy River, pool tubing and the main pool were all open and full of people ready for a great time. We were treated to a DJ who understood the crowd assignment and shoutout to the most wonderful staff. All employees on this night were in a great mood and they gave party vibes too. The promoters didn't over sell this event, so crowds and lines weren't a problem at all. I had such a blast that I wasn't even mad about getting my phone wet. I'm looking forward to going back to The Funplex for another After Dark night out. I thought they were gonna shortchange us but that didn't happen. We were given the whole experience. Good stuff!

Unfortunately, after my most recent visit, I can honestly say it will be my last. Boulder Dash was, without question, the worst roller coaster I've ever been on. It wasn't exciting. It was just painfully rough. By the time the ride ended, my friend and I looked at each other in complete disbelief, and several other people were doing the same. Everyone seemed shocked by how violent the ride was. We both walked away with whiplash, sore necks, bruises, and red marks, and I could barely walk afterward. In my opinion, the ride has become far too rough to be enjoyable. After that, we went to the yellow and green tube water slide. The employee at the bottom handed us a tube that was completely filled with water. Since the tube isn't transparent, we had no way of knowing until we tried to carry it. It was unbelievably heavy, and we struggled to haul it all the way up the stairs while people walked past us. When we finally reached the top, even the lifeguard couldn't lift it alone. It took all three of us-the two of us and the lifeguard-to get the tube into position. It was frustrating because the employee who handed it to us should have realized how unusually heavy it was and given us a different tube or emptied it before sending us up the stairs. It's really disappointing because this park was such a big part of my childhood. I expected to leave with good memories, but instead I left sore, bruised, and wishing I hadn't gone.
