I was told I needed an expansion tank on my water heater It was required. They installed it 345$. After doing some research and contacting the county, they said where I live in Riverview an expansion tank was not necessary, they said it sounded like an upsell. I contacted the company advised I didn't need it to come take it out sending them the supporting documents stating from the county one is not necessary. To my surprise they told me to keep it and they credit my CC back for the expansion tank charge. A few weeks later I was filling the tub to give my granddaughter a bath and the water was all rust. I've never had this issue before. The water heater is fairly new 3 years and I have it drained yearly. I couldn't get rid of the rust. I called the company that installed the water tank they said whoever installed the expansion tank used galvanized piping he took the pipes off they where all rusted inside. I had to pay to have them replaced the pipes. Per this plumbing company no one uses galvanized piping anymore because it rusts. I'm disappointed in this company. read more

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, DO NOT USE!!! If there was an option for less than zero stars, that rating would be too high. Admittedly, we made a mistake. We had an issue with our AC, we had a flyer in the mail from this company so we called. We should have looked up the reviews first. This company needs to be put straight out of business!!! I don't know who the F these people think they are. We signed up for the maintenance plan, $33/mo. Reason we got this is because wanted to have twice a year maintenance covered, with free filters, no service charge, etc. We scheduled the first check, the guy said we needed to replace AC capacitor because it was old and not working, cost was $550 and took him less than 3 minutes to install. We looked at Home Depot. Lowe's and Amazon, the part is only $30-$50. I asked to speak to a manager because that's absurd, manager gives me so BS standard statement about service, labor, warranty and knocks off $125 from the price. Then the guy comes in and says the second unit capacitor needs replacing, we told him to put it back. The guy leaves and he didn't even check/replace a single AC filter. A week or so later, I called to cancel the service and was told someone would be calling to discus the cancellation. Next day, my card was charged for $33. I called again, was told someone would call me back. Two weeks later, my card was charged $33 AGAIN. I called, this time demanding a manager. Manager proceeds to tell me that you cannot cancel maintenance plans because of the smart home AC device. I was like come pick it up or I will mail it. She says they can't be returned, you have to pay for them. What the actual F???? None of the guys that came to do maintenance said anything about not being able to cancel or not being able to return equipment. I hung up and dealt with the situation thru my bank. Do not use this company. Our house was built in 2019, the AC stopped working as we enterence hot months. We called as we have a 2 year old that was sleeping in an overheated room. The technician that came was an absolute wreck, he felt the ac unit, said it was too cold and that we needed new coils, then told us we had to just replace the system entirely. Quoted us for over 14k; all before opening the unit up. Pressured my wife and i to put in our information for a lona, we refused and said we would think about it. He left without putting the cover back on my unit correctly. We then called another company and it cost us 220$ to fix the issue... they either dont know what they are doing, or dont care to vet thier contractors. My daughter slept in a hot house a week longer then needed because of these awful people. read more

The service was timely, and the technition was knowledgeable but I had to use this plumber for an emergency situation, and in the end, it turned out that the service was not needed. My regular plumber could not come out for an that day, and he would have charged three hundred dollars LESS if he had been able to make it. read more

Being in Florida means AC is a must. Finding a quality company with even better customer service is almost impossible since companies know we need them. I did not have any issues with Iceberg! My AC went out and I called them to see if they could fit me in. They were exceedingly kind over the phone and reached out to one of their techs immediately. I called them at 9:15 am to verify my appointment - Nice office lady very helpful - had to reschedule me for 2:00 - 4:00 pm. It is 7:09 pm - no phone call, no text, NO SHOW! They told me not to go out so I would be home, house is now 102 degrees. I sat there all day with my animals sweltering and they didn't have the courtesy to come or call. Having an AC emergency is stressful enough, now add in a tropical storm warning. My ac went out while Florida is preparing for this hurricane. Called Iceberg and not only did they get out same day, they also let me know they'd be open for emergencies during the storm as long as it was safe to send technicians out. Iceberg installed a complete air conditioning unit and ductwork in October, 2019. Over the last 5 years everything worked great. I had Iceberg come out once a year to do a check up on the System. Then Hurricane Milton hit in October, 2024. The area was flooded including my yard. We were with out power for 4 days. When power was restored my air conditioner did not start up. The ductwork was flooded and the unit did not start. The ductwork was changed out, and the old control module was on the blower motor was changed out for a new one. The blower started, but hardly any air was coming out. Two technicians came out to work on it, but still no air. I was getting angry when IceBerg sent out Vick Bazan, one of their senior technicians. After trouble shooting the unit for over an hour, he resolved that the new controller module was faulty. He also cleaned the evaporator coils. The air conditioning unit now works like a champ. I have to say the office staff in Winterhaven is awful, I have had their service ,which was amazing service for the first year, they came out here every six months to check my air conditioner that was installed by a different company, but the company went out of business and I told them from the beginning that it was out of business. This is why I was searching for servicing Plan, my air conditioner is roughly 3 years old, well long story, short, Code enforcer come out and found, a there was no hurricane pad under my air conditioner and said I was out of code and I needed to get some hurricane straps so I called Iceburg Air thinking everything would be good. They treated me well in the past ,they had it out there the next day. Cost me $700 for slab of concrete with no hurricane straps so of course I failed the inspection for code and when I called Iceburg, the lady actually hung up on me, and the code enforcer actually , he was the one actually talking to her and telling her the mistakes that was made, and for $12.95 worth of straps for my air conditioner pad said they were no longer be doing service with me because I asked for these items and asked for them to come and fix it, this person could not get past the fact that we did not buy the air conditioner from them,the lady in the office was rude, no stars at all if you ask me read more

They will try to scam you. Requested a tech because my hvac was not cooling, tech made up a bunch of inexistent problems to convince me to buy a new way overpriced unit. Turns out I only had a clogged drain pipe. To make matter worst he tried damaging my indoor unit's fan by inserting a foam piece inside it, the whole unit was shaking a lot when he left, it wasn't doing that before. Just took the piece out and went back to normal. I paid $79 for someone to try and damage my perfectly good HVAC unit. read more

My AC went out on a Friday. Discovered no AC after 6PM. After waiting all day Saturday for another company I called Iceberg approx 10PM on Saturday night. They got right back to me & set an appt for Sunday morning. It was great...Kitt called to confirm & showed up exactly as promised. After discussion it was decided an entire new unit would be my best option. They agreed to Monday & would be able to accommodate my work schedule. Then after making a call they offered to put the unit in on Sunday afternoon. I am happy with the entire experience. Great service, honest & professional. The installers (Daniel & Abraham) did a GREAT job. The area was cleaner when they left than it was when they arrived. They removed all the old unit & the new unit is wonderful. The absolute worst estimate I have ever received from a business. My A/c stopped working. I already new the fan was not running and did assume it was the capacitor or the fan. The technician was very friendly and easy to talk to. However,the problem is the estimate I received from him on the parts for the installation. I was told it was the capacitor and the contactor that needed to be replaced. The asking price to replace the capacitor was exactly $413.00. The asking price for the contactor was 624.00. My total savings according to them would be 104.30. I told the technician after looking on amzon that a capacitor at loews is 11 bucks and a contactor was 35 bucks. I just could not see my self spending over 1,000 dollars in parts?. I refused the service. I called my neighbor who is a handyman and after inspection on my A/C unit we found it was a bad capacitor and it only coast me 20 bucks to replace. In August my central air conditioning stopped getting cool. The year before the capacitor had gone out and a replacement capacitor solved the problem. I thought maybe it was the same this time. So, had a relative install a new $30.00 capacitor. Still didn't work so Iceberg Home Services was recommended to me by a church member that had used them before. A guy with the last name of "Lebron" came out. He looked at my unit and told me my compressor was dead and I'd need a whole new unit. For $7.000 +. I told him I couldn't afford it as I am a widow on Social security, but maybe I could afford a new compressor . He said they didn't install compressors, good used ,or even new ones, just whole new units... He pushed aggressively for me to do financing through them and make payments. I told him I didn't want to have to make payments for the next 10 years to pay it off. I said I guess I'd just have to buy a window air conditioning unit. He said window Ac units were last resorts and literally pushed for me to somehow try to manage to make the payments. I just was turned off by the aggressive sales pitch and my gut said not to deal with them, even if I HAD the $7.000. I paid him the $99 assessment fee for looking at my unit. A relative called Payne air conditioning about purchasing another compressor. Since Iceberg Home Services said mine was dead. They gave me an estimate of $2.225.00 for a new compressor. That was money I really didn't want to spend either, but better then $7.000 , and cheaper then others were charging to install one. David from Payne Air-conditioning came out to install a new one and was looking at my unit outside while I was in the house. He said it would take a couple hours to install the new compressor. 15 minutes later I feel cold air coming out of my ac vents. Did he install the new compressor so fast? He comes to the door and tells me my air compressor is fine. What happened was my central ac unit DID actually just need a new capacitor, but my family member had wired it in wrong. David From Payne re-installed it correctly and now my ac worked and was putting out ice cold air. He did charge me the $200.00 service fee , but he could have easily did like the guy from Ice berg Home Services did and pretend it was my compressor gone bad. Went ahead and installed the new one like he was there to do, and collected the $2,225.00 .But, he was honest and told me what the real problem was. I thanked him profusely as that was a great burden off my shoulders not to even have to pay the $2,225.00 . just the $200 service fee. I asked him how the other person could have thought it was the compressor gone bad if it was really only that the new capacitor had been installed incorrectly. He didn't dis the other company but he said he saw it in five minutes , and said if the other guy had any ac tech knowledge at all, he would have seen it too. So, my only conclusion is the guy from Iceberg Home Services either doesn't know what he's doing, Or else he DID know it wasn't my compressor that was the problem, but wanted to make big bucks off the mistake of a capacitor that was installed incorrectly. I called Ice Berg Home Services to report it to his supervisor. I was told he would call me back, but he never did. My hunch is that this wasn't just one Ac repair guy trying to be deceptive with me, but probably they are TOLD to do this by their employer. Reading other reviews of similar problems with Iceberg Home Services tends to back this hunch up. I will add. before ANY Ac repair guy came out I prayed and asked God to intermediate for me and send me someone who would be honest with me about the AC problem. And even though a person of questionable integrity did come out. in the end a very honest person handled the situation. So, my prayer was answered. And it's November and my ac is still running cold .And I tell everyone who mentions Air Conditioning problems about my experience with both companies. read more

If I could give negative stars I would!!!!PLEASE BE VERY AWARE of this company. They're up to no good and they up charge like crazy. They changed us $840 for a service in which they did not finish the work and told me I needed a part for my AC unit but the part will not be in for 4-6weeks in the dead of summer because the part was back ordered. I asked can they get the part from somewhere else in which they told me that they can't. When I asked what can I do now they tried to sale me a whole new AC unit for $13,000 and my unit isn't even 5yrs old yet. I told them I don't have that kind of money and they said oh we have a 18 months interest free program. Like we wants another CC bill when rates are sky high. I called another place they came and told me that I didn't need all of that just the part he said was in back order but the new company was able to get that same freakin part and instead it in less than a week later. So in all this company tried to get me for $2720 and that didn't even include the coolant that was also needed. With the other company it was only $1250. I know it's hard times out there for everybody but stop ripping people off. I want EVERYBODY to know DO NOT GO HERE BECAUSE ONCE AGAIN THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER BAD EVEN IF YOU HAVE YOUNG KIDS IN YOUR HOME!!!! I'm letting any and everybody I know how this company is a ripoff. Let me tell you all a tale of a company that overcharged, underperformed and tried to make it right. My A/C unit's fan went out. I went with this company because it was a free quote on repair. They wanted to charge me somewhere around $1,600 for everything including a new fan. Stupidly I believed them because 1. It was July. 2. I don't do heat well. 3. I needed it fixed quickly. Well, it was not fixed right the first time and they tried to get me to purchase another AC unit for $7000. The second time they came out they charged me more than what they originally quoted me (which is why it was $1,600). And it still wasn't working properly after because they put the wrong size fan in the unit. Now, I called a different company after this, after a cleaning/new fan and freon check, their price was $300. I called Iceberg and complained and they did refund $800 back, but only after they tried to get me not to leave a poor review. Well, this happened months ago, but I finally have gotten around to writing this review. The only thing I will say about them is they did refund half of what I shelled out, even tho I should have made them refund more, and the second tech they sent out was very good and stayed after hours to try and help. I will never recommend this company to ANYONE, especially after they tried to badmouth the second company, saying they were a new company with cheap parts, not knowing that company had been servicing Polk County for more than 30 years. Like many people on this board, my A/C unit stopped working. I called and setup an appointment for Monday morning with Iceberg Cooling. Comfort Advisor Aaron AXXXX came out to the house to inspect my A/C and determine the cause of failure. I explained to him what transpired Friday evening when the circuit breaker tripped twice and on the third time, I left the breaker in the off position to prevent further issues. I could have actually caused further damage while flipping the breaker one more time. I showed Aaron where the Air Handler was located inside the house. Aaron did his thing while I was on conference calls for work. He finished his analysis and then came back inside the house to speak with me. Aaron told me, he did not recommend me fixing the unit I have because he is unsure how bad the compressor was damaged since I saw Freon back out of valve and he would not be able to determine the damage until he took it apart again to look at it. He also told me that my unit needed refrigerant, but he would be unable to fill it because it is an older model. I asked him what the root cause of the problem is and he told me that the condenser fan failed and that I needed a new contactor block 30/40 amp 1 pole, and I needed to replace the capacitor despite the unit still kicking on when the circuit breaker is powered on. Aaron was adamant about not fixing my current unit. I asked what a new unit would cost. He quoted me $12,000.00. I kind of chocked because I researched units prior to ICEBERG Cooling coming out to service the unit and the cost even for Gas units are cheaper with installation. He then told me that Gas Units are harder to get and if I wanted convert my unit to electric I could do it at a lower cost. When I questioned the $12, 000.00 cost. He said, how much do you want to pay for the unit? I told him, huh, are you telling me I can negotiate for the cost of the unit? I then said, that is not right. Furthermore, I asked if I could just change out the outside unit since the handler inside the house is in great condition. He told me that it would not work. It will work, but it may not get permitted. Yet in reading some of these reviews, permitting is not a strong point with this company. I turned the conversation back to getting the unit fixed, but Aaron was still pushing the new unit and the Ice Cube Membership. I told him I would consider it down the road but to go ahead and fix the condenser motor and to show me the damage on the wiring block. The block had dirt on it and was not burned or corroded as Aaron said. I asked him to move forward with replacing the condenser motor and he told me that he would have to go back to the shop to get it and would schedule a technician to come back out to replace it the following day. I told Aaron wait, isn't that why you are here today to fix my AC unit? He told me that it is already late in the morning and he had other calls to run. I then asked him about the tech cost to be applied to the cost of the repairs and he started doing math in his head. I said that is not going to work. I need quotes Nowhere in the two quotes he provided does it show that the 99.00 is applied to the cost of the repair. He was also supposed to provide a quote for the new unit but he neglected to send it to me. Knowing that there are shysters out there, I prefaced Aaron when he arrived on my background, education and knowledge of HAVAC and project management, he still tried to take advantage of my situation and force me to replace my AC unit when in reality it just needed to be fixed. How many other families out there fall victim to these deceptive business practices. By the way, ICEBERG Cooling owes me a dollar since Aaron didn't even offer me change and just took my $100.00 without remorse. With what I experienced, I should receive a full refund from this company. Within the same hour, I had another technician already scheduled just in case the first technician\ company were shysters. I had a new A/C just over a week ago. The technician said it came with a 12 month filter, it didn't come with a filter at all. They charged me an extra $1000 to replace the unit on the roof, it took them about 10 minutes to use a small manual lift to get it up there. The installed the condensation drain line in front of the filter and now I can't remove the filter without disconnecting the drain line. I called several times and sent pictures. I never got a call back and they don't seem to answer their phone now. I guess $6000 doesn't buy the customer service that you would expect. I wouldn't use or recommend their service. read more

I called countless companies to get my air conditioner unit worked on but I never got that warm and cozy feeling until I found Icberg. I called them up and they sent a technician named Elon to my home so he could evaluate my machine and give me a estimate, he made me feel comfortable and I new that I was going to select Iceberg to do my repair. A technician came over and never opened the AC unit up, just looked at it and said my condenser coil was bad and would cost $2,700.00 plus other parts and labor or buy a new AC unit for $7,000.00. Stay away! They did not diagnose the problem correctly the first time or the second time. The first visit they told me the fan motor was bad and needed to be replaced. $653 paid to them. It worked for about 20 hours and then broke. They came back out and then said it was a switch. $120 dollars later they tell me it is the compressor that needs to be replaced. An ongoing horrible nightmare. If you do use them for anything, you must actually watch them work and demand that they ask you before executing any decision that involves altering your home. I paid them over $6,000 only to discover I got a knock-off brand of A/C. You must specify the brand. Mine broke down the first month, bad switch. The installation was worth suing over. Rather than carry out the evaporator, they trashed it in my attic, only removing the copper, which they could scrap. Instead of fastening the cut-off switch to the unit or a roof component, they flopped it loose on top of the unit. They broke and left, a huge, noticeable gap in my metal duck work, it was hot two summers ago, when they installed it. They savagely ripped a hole in my soffit. The evaporator tray, that protects my ceiling in the attic, is so cheap, it is slightly over the thickness of heavy duty aluminum foil. After my complaints, they sent another kid to run a return line to my hallway, who did not center the intake in the hallway. When asked, he told me it was to avoid a 24V wire that wasn't even in use! They must push for fast work so much, quality is not a concern. I wouldn't recommend them for anything. read more

We have given iceberg several chances to wow us. Our first service person that came was great very well spoken and looked and acted professionally. Unfortunately that was the end of it. Our a/c went out one Saturday afternoon in July of 2016 it took them 41/2 hours for someone to come out. This person I would hazard to guess was probably a trainee out on his own. While he was correct that it would be more cost effective to replace the unit his diagnosis was faulty. He claimed there was no refrigerant in the system however I was there when he hooked the gages up and there was pressure. Anyway, we settled on a price and were told we would receive a call Sunday mid afternoon to let us know when to expect them on Monday. That call never came. I finally called about 8:00 that evening and was told someone would call me back directly. About 20 minutes later I got a call from someone who identified himself as the owner who seemed irritated. He said they would be here Monday between 10:00-11:00 and would call me when they left the warehouse. About 11:00 they were here no phone call though. They installed the unit and left. I had asked that they transfer the maintenance contract we had purchased and the answer was NO. Moving onto December we had a cold spell and need the heater which did not work. I will say they were out within 2 hours on that visit only to find that the crew that installed the unit didn't bother to hook up the heater portion. My wife was told there would be no charge. Really was that even a question. Now we have today the a/c went out last evening a call turned into 2 calls because no one had called 2 hours after I called then I got a call and was told they'd be out after 10 the next day. Today a fellow showed up about 9:30 said it had a bad blower motor and it would be $275. What a unit that is just 13 months old and have had to have 2 service calls already. So I'm stuck they'll be out to fix it after they pick up the part. Call the number if you haven't heard from someone by noon. Guess what no calls so I called oh they're on their way. 1:45 still not here. I could never recommend this company for anything. read more

Stay away! They call me 2 hrs before the appointment, to advised me that they were going to be there 1 hr before schedule, so I had to leave work early. The technician approach me and my home with out a mask when is mandatory in the county, they do nothing to protect you, I had to ask him to put it on, second think the moment he walk in he said I need to used your restroom, really? there is a pandemic going on. The service consisted in a 35 point check, duct inspection and energy analysis, he went to the unit out side did something for like 7 minutes, but did not even bother to removed the cover of the unit, so not sure how he inspected if he did not removed it; them he came back inside again with out the mask open the inside cover did 1 check and close the unit not even 5 minutes, he said I come back in 10, he came back this time with the mask, went and sat on my dinning room and I asked "are you done?", he said yes, and I said, you did not even open the unit, his replay, was well what you expected you are paying $35, I said, well the service is $100, you had a special for 35, but it should cover the same as you advertised it, his answer was no, you want more you pay extra, and then he said plus your AC is broken, he shows me picture of who knows were, but I can tell you weren't mine, and he told me I have options to pay $8 K, $7K, or 3K WHAT!! my AC is working fine, he said you need a new one. I pay the $35 and told him to leave my home, went I look at the unit, inside the closet he damage the wall, he did a hole and did not even bother to tell me or have it fix, incredible. read more

I feel ripped off , I trusted this company due to the good reviews . Had them install a new a/c unit , then found out that same day other companies were offering that same unit for half the price & they skipped out replacing the thermostat as promised that was 10 years old , how do you change everything else new and not replace a 10 year old thermostat especially for the price charged . Called and Spoke to chuck to see what he could do about the situation, he pretty much gave me the cold shoulder . I wouldn't even be writing this review if Iceberg would have worked something out with me . I definitely wouldn't recommend this company .
