Every time I grab an icecream, I always chooses smores flavor, and they never tasted anything closer to smores -- but when we were in Country Creamery, I chose the Campfired Smores, and WOW it tasted like chunk of marshmallows being roasted in a campfire with very creamy vanilla icecream -- it was creamier than gelato. My husband had a peach icecream, and they put generous amount of real peaches. My son on the other hand chose the rocky road -- I didn't try it but I can smell real nuts and saw a generous amount of marshmallows in it. I may say, this is by far the best icecream shop in Reno! The staffs were so sunny and friendly, and it's nice they have indoor board games for us to play. I will definitely come back again and try different flavors, or maybe I will order the same thing (Campfired Smores), because it tasted so good! read more

I'd seen the signs for Country Creamery while driving by and thought about dropping in, but I'm so glad a gift card finally got me to come and try their ice cream. They're located in a small retail strip in the RED apartment complex (next to Hub Coffee Roasters). GPS wasn't as helpful as it could've been, and fortunately there was a spot available right outside since I'm not sure where the main parking is. Very cute and comfortable interior. I've had plenty of of homemade and freshly made ice cream, so I was very surprised to find that this tasted absolutely different. It might not be for everyone, but I really liked the chewy, even more than frozen custard, texture. Very reasonably sized and priced (although the premium flavors are a bit more). Their adult small is two solid scoops, and you can pick different flavors for each. Easily shared by two people. My favorite was the campfire s'more, which nailed the toasted marshmallow flavor. Very friendly and helpful service at the counter. Will definitely be back! TIP: You can see the shop from the entrance to Century Theaters. Unfortunately, they close at 9 (M-Th), so no weeknight post-movie ice cream here, though. :( read more

We love ice cream, and we love trying out new places, so we were excited when we discovered this place! Inside, it seemed pretty spacious and seemed clean. I loved the lighting and the simple decorations! They had some fun and unique flavors! I had the peanut butter crunch, and kids had raspberry and cream and campfire s'more. I love the fact that they were handmade! The texture was different than the other ice creams we've had, but it wasn't too bad. Their waffle cones were pretty good! It was softer than the other waffle cones. As in, it was crunchy, but chewy at the same time. Service was okay. The one kid looked like he didn't want to be there. Not necessarily rude, but he wasn't friendly at all. We also kind of felt rushed and they weren't even busy at that moment. It wasn't the best we've had. Will we return? This place is in the newer RED district across the street from public market on plumb. Nestled in with the newer apartments, barber shop, the hub and the cinemark. Parking is a little scarce nearby but we got a spot and there's also a parking garage close. The logo is adorable and so is the inside of the store. Plenty of seating inside a some spots outside as well. The icecream itself they make in house and they are all so great!!! I got the lemon bar and it has actual pieces and lemon and the yummy crust in the ice cream. I also tried the smores and it's sooo good! Real marshmallow and cinnamon swirled in it. The cookie dough icecream is a bit more basic in comparison but still so good. I came back with my parents and husband so they could try and I got the lemon bar (sooo good it has actual lemony chunks in it). My mom is very allergic to coconut though a d as soon as she took a bite of the smores icecream she turned pale and had trouble breathing and was shaking. There were no signs stating coconut would be in the icecream and when we asked them if there was they said no so I'm not sure how it happened but it was a bad experience and she won't be able to go there again. read more

I can't believe this place has been open for 6 months and I've only just learned about it!! I LOVE ice cream, and I think this is my new favorite ice cream stop in town. The staff was super friendly, nice young men. The space is large with a lot of indoor seating, and outside there's a large plaza/courtyard within the RED district which will be nice during the day/warm weather. I was torn between many flavors, as so many sounded interested. They're not your basic flavors, and even the seemingly basic flavors are elevated. Why did it take me so long to try this new ice cream place?! Well, newish as I found out it's been at RED for about 6 months now. The store is very spacious with a ton of available seating, it's very clean inside, and there is nice family decor throughout. We were very promptly greeted and they were very generous with the samples. I must have tried at least 6 flavors before making up my mind - they were all so good I couldn't decide! We were told the kids size holds 1.5 scoops, the small holds 2 scoops, the medium holds up to 4 scoops, etc. I got the small size with a scoop of Mix Berry Cheesecake and Campfire S'more - I was hesitant to mix those two flavors together so they offered to put in a medium cup for me to keep them from mixing. Very kind of them! I don't know where to start on how to describe the flavors - you can truly taste the homemade love that went into each batch. Very creamy with almost a bite to it, the Mix Berry Cheesecake had actual cheesecake in it and a great berry flavor without annoying chunks of fruit. It was outstanding! The Campfire S'more actually had delicious notes of toasted marshmallow, along with other traditional flavors of graham cracker and chocolate. It was delicious! No freezer burnt or icy chunks at all. My husband got the Brûlée Banana Nutella and said it's the best ice cream in Reno. After checking out we got a buy one get one free couple for next time - so safe to say we'll be back! Their ice cream is delicious and all that it's hyped up to be! I originally tried them via door dash and was delighted to visit the Reno location, which is clean and welcoming. Great place to stop before or after the movies. Had to deduct because the in store experience. Manager was a little defensive and snippy when I explained that the picture of the mint chip is NOT what you actually get. The pic in the app shows finely chopped chocolate which melts in your mouth. Now they simply mix in whole mini chips and it's not the same. I tossed out the one I ordered, it just was blah with hard chips. $7 wasted. She told me how laborious it is to chop everything by hand. I suggested they update the picture online or go back to chopping the chips because it was disappointing and the flavor ratio is just different. She argued it's the same thing, same components. I tried to explain to her imagine getting pasta with minced shrimp and noodles when expecting long linguine noodles and big shrimp were pictured. She didn't get it or didn't care. How about the owners get the staff a food processor so they don't have to chop everything by hand and we can get the ice cream as pictured. read more

Country Creamery! The newest ice cream gem in Reno! I've visited Country Creamery three times since they opened last year and each experience has been great. The staff are always nice and friendly and happy to indulge guests with samples and chatter. Country Creamery is especially unique because of the way they craft their ice cream. Instead of traditional churned ice cream, country creamery folds and mixes its ice cream base on frozen metal slabs. Think rolled ice cream but a little different! My issue with rolled ice cream is that the ice cream base is never creamy enough. You will not have that problem at Country Creamery! If I'm not mistaken, the lack of incorporated air is part of their brand (at least that's what I was told at their opening). This results in an extremely dense ice cream, in a good way! The ice cream is extremely rich, and I could only eat half of my single scoop - which means I saved calories, right (even though I ate the other half)? Country Creamery always has inventive flavors in addition to the classics. Where possible, they make everything homemade. On my most recent trip, I tried the brown butter crunch (the speciality flavor for February) and it was delicious! A buttery, almost nutty base studded with caramel and pretzels, it was very good ice cream. The creamery is located at the Reno Experience District two doors down from Hub Coffee Roasters. Stopped by Country Creamery on the way home after a wonderful dinner nearby. A very nice addition to the Reno ice cream scene. The place was a bit hard to find. It is in the Reno Experience District apartment development. Once we finally found it, we were greeted by a huge space with great smells and tons of seating. The young man working was very nice and let us sample some flavors before finally settling on the lemon bar and strawberry cheesecake. Strange note on the pricing- while I feel it's fairly priced, some flavors are marked as "premium" and cost an extra 95 cents. I would rather see all flavors just cost 40-50 cents more than have such a thing as "premium" flavors. Both flavors were very delicious and the ice cream is of very high quality- which is what Country Creamery is all about. Everything is made in house or locally, including the add ins in some of the flavors. They also have a small selection of non-dairy options. I am already looking forward to my next visit! This is next level ice cream. It's rich, dense, freshness flavors forward, but really the texture of the ice cream is what has be coming back again and again. I've never had anything like this! It's almost taffy like with an amazing chew that I could have sworn was stabilizer or gum or some sort, but the staff have shared that the secret is hand mixing the ice cream in small batches on a freezing metal plate (and yes, you can watch them in action!). The owner grew up on a dairy farm and you can tell the richness of the product comes from expert dairy knowledge. The lemon flavor was my favorite, with little chunks of lemon bar type cookie, and I also had the peanut butter. Both flavors were present and delicious without being overpowering, really decadent treat. My single cup lasted me a while because the ice cream texture is so dense you can savor and eat for a while. This ice cream shop is more than just a place that serves ice cream--they have a true passion for high quality desserts! Their ice cream is truly some of the creamiest ive had--it's thick and dense and so packed with flavor. I've loved every flavor I've tried but I think the cinnamon roll special is my all time favorite (I hope they make it permanent!).
