I stepped on my phone (don't ask) and cracked the screen as well as damaged the LCD display! Phone was totally unusable, oof. These guys fixed it (replaced glass screen and repaired LCD issue) in a short amount of time (45 minutes was the quote). When came back the phone was ready in a mini-manilla envelope. A slight LCD color strip remained on the edge when turned on, but it's minor. For my phone paid $65.24 ($59.99 + tax). A yelp check-in could have saved $5 more but I forgot to do it.. This is a kiosk located on the third floor of the Nordstrom side of Westfield Shopping Center. Through the yelp app, I asked for quotes from half a dozen cell phone repair shops and they were one of the firsts to respond. read more

They said it was water damage and changed my screen and battery and charged me about $200 including $50 cleaning fee. 2hours later my phone was dead again. Then I came back to them they said they have special $150 cleaning for water damage. "Do you want to do it?" WHICH THEY NEVER TOLD ME FIRST TIME. Then they said after we do the water cleaning we can't guarantee anything neither. Ok then I said at least please change my old screen back. It was just with one crack and was working fine. They said "yeah we can do that but I can't give you any money back" "because on your receipt we put no refunds on it." And plus: the screen they replaced is not accurate and fast as my old one. I think they are using some cheap crappy screen to do the replacement. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR SCREEN HERE. I have to say I am not blaming on them for not fixing my phone. I made the water damage myself. When I bought the phone case one of the workers said I could try it out and I didn't like the product I could come back for a return within 7 days. I decided I didn't like the color of it so I was going to exchange it for another item the next time I came back, but the sales associate said that because I tried it on already I am unable to return it, but it was a sales associate last week was the one who put it on for me. I just want to exchange the product and the worker I started to act cold towards me after I said I wanted an exchange and said it wasn't possible. I have emailed them a week ago and I still haven't gotten a response. Bad customer service and bad response time please avoid buying from here!! (Also really expensive, my phone case was $40+) UPDATE: I emailed the store that the associates gave me and still haven't had a response! If I could I would give it a 0 star. My daughter dropped her phone and cracked the screen. I had wanted to go to A place in our neighborhood but they couldn't give us an appointment for two days. Luckily iplayntalk replied to my Yelp request for a quote with an appointment that afternoon. They need to know your model then they quote you a price for the repair. The business is a stand within the Westfield mall. At first I was annoyed to have to deal with parking etc. but we were there on A Monday afternoon and it was quiet. It's open during Covid and you're in and out in half an hour - Super efficient! Do not bring your phone here. I came from the Apple store after they informed me I needed a new charging port. The young woman at the kiosk was friendly enough and assured me that they could replace the port in an hour. So I gave them my phone and walked around the mall for a bit. When I came back in an hour, I was told it wasn't ready yet so I had to wait an additional 30-45 minutes. When it finally got dealt with, the nice young woman said it was fixed and they were just going to charge the phone to make sure it worked. Only the phone wouldn't charge. It was just frozen. The repairman came over to assure me he did his job correctly, but my phone wasn't charging or turning on. I had to explain to him how you could tell if he did his job if my phone would turn on, which it wasn't. This was a new problem that he caused, but he refused to believe this. Absolute idiocy. Then he informed me it was my phone's battery that was the problem, but even after replacing the battery, my phone wouldn't charge. So I asked that they take out the faulty charging port and put in the original so I could take it elsewhere. That's when the nice young woman from earlier informed me that they often get defected parts that they use for repairs. The repairman with the long hair and unshakeable confidence was clearly frustrated with having to put the old port back in, so much so that he neglected to put all of the screws back into my iPhone. It was a total waste of 4 hours. I took my phone to a repair shop in Daly City the next day and it was fixed in 30 minutes. This place was going to charge me $100 to fix my iPhone 7 but I only paid $60 in Daly City. That's where I learned the long-haired dweeb failed to put my phone back together correctly. Waited 3 hours for a screen replacement. They broke my home button when they opened up my phone and in turn offered me a free screen protector. When I refused to trade a screen protector for a broken home button, they insisted that they can fix it, but they just needed more time. After waiting another hour I came back, only for them to tell me they put my old screen back on, couldn't fix the home button, and suggested I go to Apple. During the whole process, they also requested that I give them my passcode so they can get into my phone. Bottom line: Waited 3+ hours, screen is still shattered, now my home button doesn't work, and I allowed strangers direct access to my phone by giving them my passcode. DO NOT GO HERE!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!! Please read this before going here. This place is not a reputable business. I was in a pinch and I needed a USB-C to HDMI converter. The places I would usually go like Target or Best Buy were closed so I scrambled to find a place that might have what I needed. I went to the mall and found this kiosk. They had what I needed so I asked the lady to take it out of the case so I could buy it. This is where I will point out nothing had a price tag on it. I asked what the price was while she was ringing me up because I wanted to know what I was spending. She ignored me and told me to open the box to make sure the item was there. I did as she asked and when I looked down she swiped my card and the handed me the receipt. I start to walk away and the look down to see I was charged $130!!! For reference this costs $30 on Amazon or at a regular store. I immediately went back and told the lady I did not realize how much she was charging for this and that I wanted to return it. Keep in mind I had been gone no longer than 30 seconds. She said "ya, I cannot do that." I asked why not and she said no refunds. I asked where it said no refunds and she said "the receipt." How could I have known there were no refunds without a sign or her telling me. The first time I could have known there were no refunds is after I bought the product. I told her she "has a right to run her business how she wants, but I as the consumer should also have the right to know what I am getting into". We argued for a few minutes and at this point I just wanted to get it over with so I offered to give her the product back for half my money back and she said "no". I offered her $65 dollars for free and she said no. Unbelievable. I was about to loose it on this lady, but I had dinner reservations, so I left. After dinner I went to use the product I had just overpaid $100 for and it didn't even work. I usually don't write reviews, but this business is atrocious. Very bad customer service. I've had my iPhone pro max over a year and never had any battery issues. Got my screen replaced friday afternoon, and ever since my battery won't charge up too 100%. Only goes up to 80% and battery drains super fast. I called to see what's going on, and he said that's not their problem and in his words "its like going to a hair salon and complaining about my nails" how unprofessional is that! Wow, was this experience horrible. I was planning on just going to Apple, but I figured why not support small business (and save a few bucks). I passed by their stand when they first opened. I made it clear that I had an appointment in 45 minutes with Apple, but if they could fix it before then - I'd be happy to let them have a go. He assured me that they had "6 years of experience" and would get the job done within the hour. I was curious as to why it'd take an hour, since he was so eager to start and I was the only one there (I got there when the mall opened). Either way, I left my phone with them and roamed downtown for an hour. When I returned, the person who made the sale was not there. Instead, I chatted with another guy. This individual, (should have remembered his name, but he had long hair if that helps) was super compassionate and understanding. He remembered me and was curious as to why I was back earlier than expected. Which was a surprise to me, because I was right on time. Turns out, the technician didn't even arrive for an hour. The original sales guy was simply over selling and under delivering just to make a sale. He had 0 concern about my needs as a customer. Very misleading individual and was rather smug the entire experience. I'll happily pay more at Apple tomorrow. read more

Replaced my 6S screen with a generic screen. Color saturation gradient is really off now with certain shades of green too dark and other shades too bright. This makes me nervous to post on Instagram because my photos will appear different for everyone else. Moreover 3D Touch apps don't accurately measure pressure, and my digitizer doesn't support multitouch anymore with more than 3 points (the Apple screen does 5 points). While the service was cheap, at $100, they didn't tell me they would be using generic parts, nor warn me of these issues. I wish I had just gone straight to the Apple store and had this done with higher quality parts for $170. They fished for me to post a review on Yelp and offered a discount which I find dishonest, so I imagine this will get buried in a lot of 5 star reviews anyway, but hopefully it bodes a warning to someone. read more

Do not get repairs done here. I just had my iPhone screen repaired there and they charged me extra for an "office Apple screen" rather than having them install a cheaper third party screen. Well, a few days after I had the phone fixed the screen started wigging out. Ghost touch, I think they call it. Anyways, I took the phone to the apple store and the first thing they said was "This is a third party screen." So the salesman at iPlayNTalk lied to me. He installed a third party screen and charged me the higher price. I ended up selling the phone and getting a new one. This place is great. Service was kind kind, helpful, and fast. The replacement screen is OEM quality - you can't tell the difference between the old screen and the new one. Took about 30 minutes to have it replaced, and since it's in the mall, you can easily kill time by walking around. Also, you can save $5 by checking in on Yelp. Took in a shattered phone screen (that had been depositing small pieces of glass into my fingers!) to iPlayNTalk after making an appointment online. They took the phone, placed it in a labeled envelope and told me to come back in about an hour. I returned a little earlier than that to purchase a case to hopefully prolong the survival of this screen (I break a lot of iPhone screens), and the gentleman who had checked me in assisted while the repairman finished up repairing my phone. I passed on a screen protector as I have shattered three of those as well, but feel as though I wasn't overly pressured or pressed to buy any add ons or accessories. The phone looks amazing and has responsive touch and 3D Touch works great. I was told the method they use retains the water resistance as well, which is nice as I've heard some repairs can unseal that. Happy to have supplied them with my business. I also did benefit from a minor discount, which I didn't even notice until I had walked away and reviewed the receipt. No shady selling tactics, no pushy sales. Okay, to test his theory, I asked to replace my screen with the broken-original screen. My phone was back to normal. SIR, NOT a software issue! It appears to be a compatibility-issue or other.
