    Sushi and Chinese food
    Katie Z.

We popped in for a quick dinner while in downtown for a salsa class. I like that they had both Japanese sushi and Chinese dishes to choose from. My friend and I shared a California roll and the chicken with mixed vegetables dinner with fried rice. The portion size for the chicken and vegetables dinner is definitely shareable. We ended up boxing up leftovers. The chicken and mixed vegetables also came with a side salad or your choice of egg roll or Crab Rangoons. The service was fast and we received our dishes pretty quickly. I noticed they were also busy with a lot take out orders as well. Definitely would try again if I was in the area. The prices were very fair compared to a lot of other Japanese restaurants!

Sushi was good!!! Lots of choices, both classics and regulars. Had lots of noodle and appetizer dishes as well, but I was there for sushi. Small environment, so expect slower service since sushi is rolled and dishes cooked with minimal staff, but great with a lot of taste. I ordered 3 rolls and it came on a special bridge plate - super fun!

I arrived at Ichiban at about 6:45. I was seated promptly. I was greeted again by a very kind server who quickly took my order and returned with my hot tea within 5 minutes. Her service after that was pretty slow. The food took a long time to come out and I had to send it back because it was cold. My egg roll came out long after the chicken dish and rice. When I got my food back it was hotter, but still not hot enough. There was a nice amount of chicken, the flavor was OK. The stir fried rice was pretty basic with egg and soy sauce. Definitely nothing special. The egg roll was pretty average too. The atmosphere is fine and they were very busy for a Tuesday night. I'll come back, but tonight really wasn't their night. I'll probably just stick with the sushi which I recall was pretty good.

Tucked in a hallway in downtown fort Myers, you have Ichiban! Unfortunately we came at a busy time and the service took quite a bit, but the food was generally ok. Nothing too special but got the job done for the price. Would recommend for a lunch date.

So, word to the wise - make reservations for dinner in advance when staying in Downtown Ft Myers in season (at least on the weekends). We found out the hard way that it's nearly impossible to get a table many places. Luckily, Ichiban was able to seat and feed us after lots of wandering around asking for tables at other places only to hear of 1-2hr waiting times. The menu lacks sushi options, but has plenty of other items depending on what you're looking for. I wanted sushi however and went for the "deluxe" option. Despite being very busy, the staff was hustling and the order came out after a moderate wait. We had some edamame to start, followed by a couple sushi combos, served with salad or miso soup. Pretty standard Japanese restaurant stuff. The sushi was more than palatable. I've had better and I've had worse. I'm general, the place was a little greasy and smelled of fried foods. It wasn't our first choice, but was fine for what it was...a place to sit down and eat on a busy night downtown with no reservations.

So happy I finally got my friend to go to this restaurant. When I was in jury duty, a police officer showed me this restaurant when we got to take a lunch break. It was really good then and it was even better this time. We tried the sweet-and-sour chicken you get two sides. I try the crab raccoons. I gotta tell you they were the best I've ever had anywhere and I've had them all over the place. My friend tried general Tao chicken. She didn't want it spicy. It wasn't, but it was flavorful and delicious. She tried the lo mein with it, which was really really good. The table next to us had sushi. It was amazing. It was like a platter that was beautiful. It was a vegetable roll. It was absolutely amazing and when I asked them, they said it was delicious. Next week will be bringing back other friends cause everybody's always just looking for a good Chinese/Japanese restaurant.

Ordered here from Uber Eats. It was AMAZING!! Will be ordering from here again. I can't really tell if service or ambiance was good but the food is amazing.

This place was the bomb-diggity for sushi, killing other sushi haunts that attempt to compete. I ordered a ton of sushi rolls, which my lady and I destroyed. We didn't leave anything left -- not even ginger. Located in the mall part of the Indigo Hotel, Ichiban was glorious and good, good and glorious. We were in town to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays; the birthday girl requested a sushi celebration, which no one opposed (nor should they). I've been to many sushi bars in my time, and this one was grand, grand in a way that made me feel like a king among kings, staring intently at his rings to where the caged birds began to sing until the halls started to ring. But I digress. I ordered a few rolls for starters, such as the Volcanic Eruption, Green Dragon, and Sunshine rolls, served on a bridge -- not a boat, a bridge. All burst with tasty goodness and delight that I remembered them on my palate for many nights. Moreover, the Yellowtail Extreme roll was especially tantalizing, while the Eel sushi and Mackerel sushi we ordered on the side was a nice final touch to an evening where we washed it all down with this lovely pineapple saki for spiritual oneness. If you're passing through downtown Fort Myers, then stopping here if you have a craving for sushi is a must. If you're staying at the Indigo Hotel, then even better because Ichiban is a stroll away from the lobby entrance where you don't need to go far to eat. If you've been day drinking and need to scarf down some tasty goodness, Ichiban is king if sushi is what you are craving.

Not busy. I am one of 4 people here. It's a Wednesday evening around 7pm. By the looks of downtown there are some bands playing so maybe that's why it's not busy. I ordered the Philly roll and spicy tuna. Both were fairly plain, as expected. These aren't fancy rolls. But they had a decent flavor. Fish was fresh and tender.

Located just outside the Indigio Hotel. Nice place. Very small inside. There were 10 people inside and a large group (9) came and they had to sit outside. Service was very attentive. Food was good. I had the standard, General Tso's Chicken with white rice. My wife tried something different, Chicken and Walnuts Bento Box. My was good, nothing special. My wifes was "different". The chicken looked like it was coated in mayo. She said it good. Hmmmmm. They had a full Sushi menu, and looking back, I wished I had tried that. Some of the platters that came out looked very" presenting". Next time.

This is my first visit to Mahi Sushi - Thai Cuisine and Pho. As I walked in, I quickly recalled I was here many times under a Mexican restaurant. The ambiance is well spaced out with many tables and a small Sushi Bar. One look at their Sushi Bar, I decided to forego the Pho and Panang Curry. Yes, there was one roll I recalled that was very popular here, Magic Eels. I normally have a Saporo or Kirin or Heineken with this dish but because of the cold weather I opted for a hot tea! The Magic Eel roll has the BBQ eel (Unagi) as its topping. This is cross between salmon and chicken without any fishiness. The meat is soft and fluffy with some tempura flakes for crunch and cream cheese for silkiness. Avocado and cucumber add freshness with a drizzle of eel sauce! I was in Seven Heaven! While the restaurant is named Mahi Sushi, it is a full-service Japanese and Thai spot with Pho! OMG, my excellent experience with Magic Eel will draw me back to Mahi Sushi forever!

We had to wait a few minutes to be served. When she finally came back, we ordered the steamed gyoza to split. I got the sashimi martini with seafood salad as an appetizer and my husband got a jalapeño firecracker or something appetizer. And we ordered the dynamite roll for us to split. The gyoza came out pretty quickly, and then they brought my martini seaweed sashimi, but they didn't bring my husband's firecracker appetizer so I had to sit there and wait for his to come so I didn't eat without him eating. Well, they served a table of 10 while we waited for the other half of our appetizer order. We go out for sushi because we like raw seafood. Their menu for their rolls is lacking with raw seafood. Their rolls had the fake crab meat or something in there was steamed or tempura. The only role they had that was all raw and not just a single first item was called the dynamite roll. And that one had 2 types of raw fish ( I believe it was tuna and yellowtail, but I'm not 100% sure) avocado and it was delicious, We walked in at 5:30 and did not walk out until 7 PM and it was not busy. There was three tables on our side. I could not see it was on the other side, but I can't imagine that being more than two because what I did see was empty. It's an older place, so it's not new and fancy but the food that we got was very good however, they need to have more raw options for rolls that are assorted rolls and do better with timing.
