Excellent place for Korean food very close to campus! Portions are huge and everything tastes fairly authentic (comparable to Korean food that I have had in LA). Some of the food portions were so massive that we had to take a to-go box for it, which made for a great cost-efficient meal the next day. I would DEFINITELY come back the next time I am in town, this one is a can't-miss for sure.

Kimbap Togo containers made it plating unnecessary.

Needed to bring something to share at a holiday party and Kbops kimbap came in clutch! They looked and tasted amazing. It was a big hit at the party. I bought 8 kimbaps and they were all gone by the end of the night. I ordered them through Yelp and it was done in no time. They also come in individual containers. Great for sharing and also not if you want one just for yourself. This is on the UofM campus so expect to do street parking.

    So good!!!

We were in the area and craving for gimbap, so we decided to stop by. Parking is scarce and will need to drive around otherwise there's parking ramp with a small fee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is right on the corner, bright and yellow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a big menu with pictures to order from. Order at the counter and they'll bring out the food to your table. They ran out of gimbap, so we ordered other items.

I love getting my Korean food fix here! I got the Kimchi Chigae and the Bu Dae Chigae, both super good! I usually can't handle spice well but this was just the right amount of spice. We also got a kimbap roll which was so good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is smaller but does have a large table if you want to accommodate big groups, but probably would be best to come when it's slower.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is probably the worst part about this place, it's located in Dinkytown so you can imagine the nightmare during game days. They do have street parking in front of the restaurant if you want to test your luck. Overall, great food!

The food here always hits when I crave Korean food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a good amount of seating available but can fill up fast when they're busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking can be hard to find during the semester. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like that they have some sort of Korean show or music playing on their TV and it's not too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went here for a solo food date and it was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got their Jampong and Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Pancake) and the portion was a lot! I had to take half of each home and eat it for dinner.

Kbop is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the city. The menu runs the gamut of traditional Korean foods, and everything I've tried has delivered in full. A few personal favorites are the budae-jjigae (military stew), seafood bibimbap, and jjajangmyeon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is straightforward by design, cafeteria-style and counter service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get busy during dinner during the school year, especially on winter weekends when a roiling stew hits like nothing else.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One thing to be aware of: you have to buy any drink you want, including bottled water. And should you venture to the spicier side of the menu, you'll want a one. It'd be cool if they added even a simple water dispenser as this can feel a little cash-grabby, but the food is good enough and reasonably priced such that this can be overlooked.

DELICIOUS Korean food, in a modern, no-frills and minimalistic kind of atmosphere. Service was okay considering you order at a counter, then pick up when your order is ready (yup, just like at McDonald's). We arrived around 7pm and there was only one person in front of us when we got in line to order. After we ordered, our food was ready in 5-10 minutes. Here's what we ordered: 1. Beef Bulgogi (5/5) So delicious and flavorful and perfectly cooked. Order this every time! 2. Japchae (4/5) Yummy, but not as good as the Bulgogi. We ordered with chicken, but it was a bit dry so I wish we opted for the beef. 3. Dukbokki (2/5) It was hard and chewy. Spice level was ok, but it wasn't the best dukbokki I've tasted. 4. 2 Bottled Waters for $1.50 each. (0/5). Have I mentioned how much I hate paying for water at a restaurant? Also, be prepared to pay for parking, or parking far away since the Dinkytown U of MN area parking situation can be difficult sometimes. On-street parking was about $3 per hour. I would definitely come back when I'm craving good Korean food.

There is paid street parking nearby. It's open at least, closed this coming Monday and Tuesday for the 4th. Order at the counter and pick up your order when they call your order number. No names here, you are just a number to them. The woman taking your order wasn't warm or inviting or friendly at all. We ordered bottle of water, kimchi fried rice with the egg scrambled, kimchi jjigae, kimchi jeon, tteokbokki, Kimbap. $62.39 The kimchi jiiage comes with soft tofu instead of the hard tofu at our favorite spot back at home. It's subpar, not a big fan of the broth much. Their kimchi pancake is really thick and nice and crispy. It's quite good. The banchans: cucumber, braised fish cake and kimchi, all are okay. The tteokbokki is okay, the rice cakes are bloated and slightly overcooked. The kimchi fried rice is super salty and maybe too heavy on the soy sauce, it's not as good as our favorite restaurant back at home. Actually most of the dishes are quite salty. You will likely need to get more water as you go. We were so thirsty as we ate our food up. It was quite backed by the time we left the place.

Came here for some warm Korean stew and this place delivers. The jjamppong veggies are a little different from the typical cabbage, carrots and onions but the Smokey flavor is spot on and the banchan sides were a great accompaniment. Size of the soups are very reasonable and shareable with a friend if you order an appetizer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is cafeteria style seating so order and wait to pick up when your number is called, when you are done return the tray.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Always a great spot if you're craving a quick Korean bite. Today, I got the beef bulgogi plate. With a mixture of grilled beef, veggies, and slightly sweet sauce, you are in for a juicy meaty treat! Service was quick. Makes for a fun trendy spot by the University of Minnesota!

I have had Korean BBQ here before as well and honestly I thought it was pretty decent. I ordered the bibimbap and it was very sloppily made with not enough ingredients. I used a good amount of gochujang for flavor which was normal but even the vegetables included in the original bowl were very plain. The japchae was pretty good as the vermicelli noodles were very flavorful. I would've preferred to see some more bell pepper pieces in it, though. My partner got the salmon roe nigiri, the agedashi tofu, and the soft tofu stew. They thought those dishes were pretty good. The agedashi tofu specifically, however, was a bit too soft in terms of its outer skin. Plenty of tables available and lots of parking on the street. The place was pretty full by the time we left. The restaurant is huge with a good ambiance. Clean and not too loud. If you opt for AYCE, you mark your choices on a sheet of paper. You're given some marinated tofu, broccoli, tofu, kimchi, sprouts, greens to begin with. We ordered beef bulgogi, spicy pork, pork belly, and brisket. I probably could have done without the brisket or pork belly. Brisket dried out super fast and the pork belly was a little too fatty. Also ordered gyoza, fried rice, black bean noodles, seaweed salad, and a shrimp tempura roll. All were delicious, but we ended up with far too much food for just two people. At the end we were given ice cream. It was individually wrapped so we took it to go since we were so full. I'd definitely return again in the future!

The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. As a musician and audiophile, hearing something moving or stirring can illicit a very visceral emotional response. I experienced a very similar response with that very first bite. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree. On its own, it is perfectly balanced with the right amount of salt, acid, and umami. I tacked on some sticky rice and Hmong hot sauce...use with caution! It's potent but so delicious. A small is 8 wings, a medium is 16 wings and a large is 24 wings. The wings themselves are good sized. We also ordered the cheesling fries which was also a very generous portion. The wings were very crisp and hot when they came out. The kept there crunch through our whole meal! I was impressed that the breading didn't start to get soggy. Each portion was filling, and the food was hot and fresh! My least favorite thing was the seafood stone pot. I wasn't a fan of the sauce, the spiciness, and it having frozen veggies. I preferred the regular bi bim bap. I would recommend coming here!

One can always easily find something on their menu that they can also find in Korea at a random location, and this establishment also gets the flavor right, along with the small plates that complement the meal. Whether it's the stone pot bibim-bap or just the bibim-bap, mixing rice with the given meat and vegetables, along with some gochujang, made it authentically delicious. The seafood pancake was more plain than the kimchi pancake, which was to be expected. It had the perfect amount of seafood to not make either the seafood or the pancakes overwhelming in terms of amount. The kimchi pancakes had the right kind of saltiness that was given by the kimchi. Once again, authentically delicious. The galbi tasted amazing, and I think I could taste a certain amount of butter based on the type of oiliness and saltiness that the meat had. I could remove the meat easily from the bones, and the meat was easy to chew as well. I think the black bean noodle was the only item that I was more critical about, because it was a bit watery and the sauce was plain. However, it wasn't bad at all and I still finished all of it. Just comparatively, it was less tasty, and I have had better in Korea or China. Around this area of Oak Street, if people want to look for good Korean food, there are a few very good options, and this establishment is definitely one of them. I would highly recommend it.
