Best hibachi / Japanese food in D'Iberville, MS. I've been to this place multiple times already and its pretty good considering I've come from CA for TDY where its a melting pot of asian food. Staff is helpful and friendly if you have any questions about about the menu. Right when you walk in, it reminds me of a modern Japanese restaurant with alot of color on the walls and furniture. Lady was on phone when I arrived. I stood there for five minutes while she was on the phone. She hung the phone up and walked to the back. No greeting. Just because you have teriyaki in the restaurant does not mean that you need to make all meet swim in it. Salmon did not taste like Salmon and the piece of fish's size was comical. Very thin. Hard dry chewy steak! Everything was overcooked bland and hard. The rice was not fried properly it was just soy sauce color. I hated that I wasted my money on this horrible slop. I got cold food tonight tried to get them to give me a refund because she said I ate some of the food! the guy at the counter took my food and walked around to the customer showing my food to other customers saying I ate some of the shrimp and still refused me a refund and forced me to take the food with no refund after he paraded the box of food around to all of the customers to try to act as if he didn't give me coke food. My initial review is just 2 stars. Honestly I expected more from this place. I should've guessed that with Express in the name is was going to be a fast food kinda joint. You walk up to register, look at menu, order food then pay much like Newks. The food quality was subpar, lacked flavor, and the fried rice was cold in the middle. Food was served in a styrofoam takeout plate with a plastic fork even though I dined in. What? No chopsticks??? Like I said my expectation was much bigger. I can say the dining room was clean, but then it should have been, it just opened. The only thing that looked promising on the menu was the rolled ice cream desserts which I did not order. I went ahead and tried the daily chicken special for $5.00 which come with fried rice. The chicken was hot and fresh off the grill with a nice glaze sauce that had some vegetables and the rice was great too. For the ice cream i went ahead and got the oreo cookie icecream which was $5.95 and you can pick up to 3 toppings and whip cream. Ice cream was really good and creamy. They sell beer as well and also have a nice outdoor patio you can dine out in. Overall pretty good place to eat and have some icecream for a quick bite. Not only is the ice cream here spectacular in their flavor profiles but being able to actively watch them create your ice cream in front of you from the mixing to the rolling on the anti-griddle. The rolled ice cream was on point. The rest of the items on the menu, not so much. I was incredibly let down and I really wanted to like this place. I came here 2 different times hoping that my first experience was just a fluke. The quality was just not there when I had the chicken and shrimp box (first time) or the sushi (second time). The chicken and shrimp was cooked decently but it wasn't anything to be excited about. The sushi rolls were huge and deep fried. The actual meat of the sushi (the ingredients other than rice) was just lacking. I am realizing more that you just can't get decent "Japanese style" food anywhere here. This restaurant is horrible. The food was bland. Nothing was seasoned. Not even a little bit. I ordered the steak and chicken combo platter with fried rice. Absolutely everything was bad. Even the Egg drop soup, which was the best part of the meal, was sub-par. And the won ton strips for the soup were stale. The steak and chicken were cut in cubes which made them tough and chewy. The fried rice was old and it was the worst. It had no peas, carrots, onion, or egg in it. Just heated up on the Hibachi Grill and splashed with a bit of soy sauce. I did not order any sushi because the sushi bar was lacking in freshness and cleanliness. This was absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten by far. I called the restaurant to try to take my food back to get my money returned because I could not eat it and they hung the phone up on me. Don't waste your time or money on this place. This place is conveniently located right across from Walmart on Sangani Blvd. When I first walked in, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Very cute, neat and clean. They had music on where it wasn't too loud and not too quiet. This place seems like a nice place where you can hangout with your friends, have dessert and eat. I really enjoyed their chicken and steak hibachi with a side of egg drop soup. The portion is fairly decent. I ordered the Cow Boy Roll and I loved the texture of the deep fried sushi roll. The flavor was amazing but I got quite a few chewy pieces of steak otherwise I'd have given this dish a 5 star. The crab rangoon my wife and I shared was excellent and full of flavor. My wife ordered the beef yaki soba and thought the noodles were a bit over done but she really liked the flavor. She also got quite few chunks of chewy steak. Overall, this place is really close to being 5 star just need better cuts of steak. read more

Nice little spot in D'Iberville. Hibachi without having to sit for a show. I usually order the chicken hibachi lunch special which is $7.99 I think. You get plenty of meat and I usually can't eat all of my food. The rolled ice cream is very good too but kind of pricey at $6.00. Overall I like this place. read more
