I went on a Sunday afternoon around 2 o'clock and was seated immediately. I have never had this type of Ramen before, and they were extremely helpful in explaining how to order it. They have the salad and soup separately and you can serve yourself, which was really nice. The Ramen came out quickly and was beyond delicious. Hibachi was a little overpriced for quality. My sushi was not good at all. It didn't even taste like fish and that's all it was. Too over mixed with breadcrumbs to stretch the amount. The outside is unassuming but don't let that fool you. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. The menu is fairly extensive and the prices reasonable. Great local lunch place. We had the Tuna Poke bowl which was very fresh and the hibachi shrimp lunch. Service was excellent and very attentive. We were on a schedule for lunch so they got us in and out quick. Overall a good experience. There is not a hibachi table where they cook in front of you. The name made me think there would be. We've indulged the sashimi, which was fresh and artfully presented, and the hibachi, which was most excellent (and the seaweed salad appetizer is delicious!). We used to eat here pretty regularly, as the food was pretty good. Of late, we have been disappointed. Recently, we ordered some filet mignon/shrimp hibachi combos, which are expensive. Not only wasn't the steak filet mignon (although we were charged for that), it wasn't even good quality steak. It was very tough. They used to provide soup with the hibachi meals also. In the last few orders, we have not received the soup unless we order it separately (and are charged for it). Sushi ordered recently has been disappointing also. Based on the drop in quality and quantity of food, it will be a while before we try them again. read more

Stopped in to try the new Hibachi restaurant in Long Beach and I am glad we did! It is rather plain on the outside much like the previous place that was there but once inside it is a charming place. A lovely mural decorates the room we were seated in which is where the sushi station and soup/salad bar is. The place smelled like a combination of good food and clean, so we were looking forward to our dinner. The waitress was extremely pleasant, a lady from Thailand who was very happy to make recommendations. My husband started with the Gyoza and also had sushi. I tried one and it was very nice, just what you would expect, with ground pork lightly seasoned and onion, lightly seared, and the sauce was good. His sushi was good- he said it was not the best he had ever eaten but it was fine. He had eel and yellowtail. The presentation was rather fun as well. I opted for the shrimp and chicken hibachi and it was pleasant- the sauce had a flavor I could not place. It was a good sized portion and the rice that was served with it had an almost popcorn like flavor. We ordered chicken teriyaki to take with us for lunch the next day since I am rather lazy, and I sampled it on the way home. I believe I liked the teriyaki a bit more than the hibachi. It came with a spring roll and a section of a california roll which was an unexpected surprise. It heated up the next day just fine.
