Ichiro Sushi is the only sushi spot in Milton & for me, I didn't have the best experience with the establishment. Now I'd like to preface that I have never dined in and have only ordered delivery from them. My first time ordering from here, I ordered online for delivery and order a dragon maki. On their website under the "Would you like to add extras?", it prompts up an option to add temaki/hand roll. At the time, I mistakenly thought that this was a great deal, basically a buy one maki, get a hand roll and I didn't think that they would charge their hand rolls for the same price as the makis lol... Fast forward, when the food was delivered, I was shocked to only see one singular hand roll that I was charged $25 for (total) and only that. I immediately called the restaurant to make sure this was not a mix up and the lady at the time was kind of dismissive and rude about the situation. Unfortunately I did mistakenly think that I was going to get both a hand roll AND a maki (which I admit is my fault) BUT it prompts up in a very confusing way on their website and also as shown in delivery apps. For example, if the extra option to add hand roll is to get the roll in the form of the hand roll, they should make the option to be listed as: "Choose one: *6-8 piece maki OR *hand roll", not "Add"... it is very misleading. And the reason for my low star review is because when I spoke on the with a lady, I spoke to her very kindly and honestly was not too bothered about the delivery situation, however, she did not appreciate that I misunderstood and basically told me that there is no solution to this and you can order again, if you want. Not helpful at all.

Cozy environment! Love supporting a local mom and pop shop! Service was wonderful and food came out quickly. Got some interesting fusions of sushi. Overall, i enjoyed the sushi and atmosphere!

    So much sushi takeout!

I found Ichiro over quarantine and I have been going ever since! I've gone there to pick up and have gotten delivery through GrubHub and the like. The food is always ready on time and it is some of the best sushi I've had in the Greater Boston area. I usually get the following: Sake sashimi (salmon). Can I just add that the sake is my favorite! The salmon is so fatty and the slices are thick! Maguro sashimi (tuna) Hamachi nigiri (yellowtail) And then I'll get some type of roll. Spicy tuna is a go-to, but it's not spicy enough. I wish they had some of that spicy mayo on the top. It's still good, but not the "spicy" type of roll I'm used to. One of my favorite rolls is the Four Season Maki special roll that has lobster with cucumber and avocado and topped with salmon and tuna. It's sooo delicious and decadent, but I don't get it all the time because it's an $18 roll. Overall, all of the fish is so fresh and thick cut. They don't skimp on quality or quantity. I'll be ordering from here for a long time!

Autumn Maki Winter Maki Salmon Nigiri

I really wanted to love this place, but there were little drawbacks that just didn't work out. First off they put Spicy Mayo on pretty much everything which just overwhelms any other flavors. The Takoyaki tasted like it was frozen. The only Maki I enjoyed was the Autumn Maki, but to be honest it's pretty hard to mess up something with shrimp tempura in it. The Winter Maki was super weird, if they didn't tell you it had scallop you would've had no idea what you were tasting (it definitely didn't taste like scallop). And the salmon nigiri was meh, not terrible but not the greatest quality salmon you will have. The service was amazingggg tho, our lady was so nice and the food came out fast.

2 orders of salmon sashimi and 1 order of uni

Hidden gem in Milton. Their maki rolls are unique and most importantly, fresh. The Taki Maki is perfect for fried oyster lovers like myself. Highly recommend the Owl and Four Seasons Maki!! Salmon sashimi came in thick cuts that were extremely satisfying. And last but not least, the uni nigiri was 10/10.

    Milton Maki

A rare find in Milton! Salmon sashimi came in thick, fresh pieces. Totally worth the price. Uni for $4/piece was creamy and sweet. Loved all of the rolls we ordered..especially the Four Season Maki, Owl Maki, and Taki Maki!!! Would recommend ordering take out, yum.

Christmas Maki with mushy salmon on top

I have not learned my lesson, I tried them again today and it was disgusting. The sushi rice was mushy and not holding up when you picked it up to eat. The salmon on the top was not fresh and tasted like paste and the shrimp had a fish odor. I promise I will not return, I deserve to receive edible food for the amount they charge for sushi. This 1 roll the Christmas maki was $16.95. And not worth the time to go pick it up. Yuck

    Spicy tuna

The wife really wanted to try it. I was hesitant since I was going to have to refinance my mortgage to get a few maki rolls. Anyway I gave into my wife like I always do and we refinanced. $97 for 3 rolls, edamame and chicken teriyaki. Didn't need the arm and leg it cost me since I'd be sitting down to eat and only needed one arm to use the chopsticks so it ended up being fine. Really tho, the spicy tuna roll had the smallest piece of tuna in it. Don't know how you can mess up a sweet potato roll but it was awful. The chicken teriyaki was inedible and came with uncooked vegetables. In all the sushi places I've ever ordered I've never gotten raw vegetables with a hot meal. The last roll (lobster with raw pieces of tuna and salmon on top) was actually pretty good. The presentation was nice but the food did not come close to the price or presentation. Would not recommend

    Sake Ikura Don

Best sushi spot in Milton! Perfect for lunch. My boyfriend and I came for lunch before our hike at blue hills. Parking may be a challenge we were lucky to find street parking. The restaurant was empty and quiet on a Saturday but don't let that deter you. My boyfriend and I got a booth by the window and we ordered a Sake Ikura Don (Japanese rice bowl with salmon sashimi and salmon roe) and a chirashi don. The meal came with a salad and miso soup. They served us water with lemon. Overall we would rate it a 4.5/5.

    Great green tea!
    Cyndy K.

Cyndy's Bottom Line: authentic high quality Japanese food. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat before a wedding reception. This is what we ate: Green tea - savory and delicious. Gyoza - delicious and excellently cooked. The best gyoza I've had outside of Tokyo! Sake sashimi - well cut Scottish salmon sashimi. A generous and unctuous slice. Salmon avocado roll - nicely rolled, perfect ratio of fish to rice. Good quality rice. Delicious! I will definitely be back on my next visit! Arigato & Mahalo!

Next, when I was ordering, I asked the guy if I could get a side of the pork, but I wasn't getting ramen. No problem he said. For future reference, that side of pork needs to be in the ramen because it doesn't stand on its own. It was so dry, and tasted off. I also found the guy up front to be rude. My name is Jonathan. The poke nachos were easily the star of the table...honestly to die for. All three sushi rolls were packed with flavor and didn't last long once they hit the table. One had some thick fishy slices but aside from that, wasn't bad. The edamame came out warm and perfectly salted (simple, but done right). The atmosphere was really nice and relaxed, and the service was professional and quick, which is always appreciated when everyone shows up hungry. Definitely a spot we'd come back to when the sushi craving hits again.

I recently wrote a review for the 'Hot & New' Omori in Quincy. While I am not a detractor of Omori,…read morethe experience there left something to be desired. This is due to some creative decisions I disagree with and, at times, very little eel. Meanwhile, Sake Japanese Restaurant hits just the right spot! The creative decisions were excellent, with everything coming together splendidly. The fish was fresh and in more than generous amounts. This, in turn, makes the cost of about $20 per roll seem reasonable and makes it much easier to stomach (I didn't intend the pun, but I will own it). Regarding the Holiday and the Kevin Page, these maki rolls are similar. Both shine with the white fish on top and generous amounts of tuna (and salmon in the Holiday's case) within. The eel and cucumber add a pleasant new dimension to the pieces. I'd say these two are like identical twins adopted by different families. Each will have some unique personality and flair, but at the core, they are one. The crazy tuna brought something different to the table. While I am generally not a fan of the chopped-up style of fish, here it just works, and I didn't mind it. If I were to guess, this is because many places have more tempura than fish and add too much spicy mayo. Despite the style, the tuna was still able to shine through. For the inside, I enjoyed the crunch and freshness of the cumber with the sweetness and savory notes from the eel. Finally, the service was polite and speedy, though it wasn't bustling. Thus, not only would I happily return to Sake, but I would love to order the same three rolls again, for they were *that* good.

While my order was in route, the restaurant called and informed me that my driver forgot the hot items. Before I could even feel an ounce of disappointment and without prompt I was asked for my address as well as phone number and their delivery guy brought my ramen! No extra charge, and when I tried to give him a tip, he politely declined. THAT is platinum level of customer service. And to top it off, the sushi was delicious...I cannot wait to heat up and try the ramen. Highly suggest, if I could give more stars I would!
