A last minute drop in that was surprising. First off, when you enter you wonder if it is open, with all the shades drawn, but that sets aside the busy outdoors, for a calm interior. The staff was extremely nice and helpful from the first moment. We had never been here, and it took a bit for us to absorb the menu, and the wait staff was happy to answer any of our questions. We ordered gyoza and the shrimp balls to start. The gyoza was decently done, and the shrimp was crunch on the outside, and still nice and juicy in. We then had a variety of rolls, nigiri and specialty rolls with a Chicken Katsu Curry bowl. The Chicken katsu was well done, very well fried, and still moist interior, and the rice and curry combo was just the right amount of both. The nigiri were all well done and had a good rice to topping ratio, and did have a bit of wasabi under each piece. The rolls were also a good mix of interior and rice. All were well prepared. Ichiro Sushi is the only sushi spot in Milton & for me, I didn't have the best experience with the establishment. Now I'd like to preface that I have never dined in and have only ordered delivery from them. My first time ordering from here, I ordered online for delivery and order a dragon maki. On their website under the "Would you like to add extras?", it prompts up an option to add temaki/hand roll. At the time, I mistakenly thought that this was a great deal, basically a buy one maki, get a hand roll and I didn't think that they would charge their hand rolls for the same price as the makis lol... Fast forward, when the food was delivered, I was shocked to only see one singular hand roll that I was charged $25 for (total) and only that. I immediately called the restaurant to make sure this was not a mix up and the lady at the time was kind of dismissive and rude about the situation. Unfortunately I did mistakenly think that I was going to get both a hand roll AND a maki (which I admit is my fault) BUT it prompts up in a very confusing way on their website and also as shown in delivery apps. For example, if the extra option to add hand roll is to get the roll in the form of the hand roll, they should make the option to be listed as: "Choose one: *6-8 piece maki OR *hand roll", not "Add"... it is very misleading. And the reason for my low star review is because when I spoke on the with a lady, I spoke to her very kindly and honestly was not too bothered about the delivery situation, however, she did not appreciate that I misunderstood and basically told me that there is no solution to this and you can order again, if you want. Ichiro may be slightly pricey but the price is justified by the great sushi. All of their rolls are well put together and travel well for delivery or takeout. If you are somehow not into sushi know that the miso soup is very good. Also the avocado salad is very flavorful - and has roe in it! I found Ichiro over quarantine and I have been going ever since! I've gone there to pick up and have gotten delivery through GrubHub and the like. The food is always ready on time and it is some of the best sushi I've had in the Greater Boston area. I usually get the following: Sake sashimi (salmon). Can I just add that the sake is my favorite! The salmon is so fatty and the slices are thick! Maguro sashimi (tuna) Hamachi nigiri (yellowtail) And then I'll get some type of roll. Spicy tuna is a go-to, but it's not spicy enough. I wish they had some of that spicy mayo on the top. It's still good, but not the "spicy" type of roll I'm used to. One of my favorite rolls is the Four Season Maki special roll that has lobster with cucumber and avocado and topped with salmon and tuna. It's sooo delicious and decadent, but I don't get it all the time because it's an $18 roll. Overall, all of the fish is so fresh and thick cut. They don't skimp on quality or quantity. I really wanted to love this place, but there were little drawbacks that just didn't work out. First off they put Spicy Mayo on pretty much everything which just overwhelms any other flavors. The Takoyaki tasted like it was frozen. The only Maki I enjoyed was the Autumn Maki, but to be honest it's pretty hard to mess up something with shrimp tempura in it. The Winter Maki was super weird, if they didn't tell you it had scallop you would've had no idea what you were tasting (it definitely didn't taste like scallop). And the salmon nigiri was meh, not terrible but not the greatest quality salmon you will have. The service was amazingggg tho, our lady was so nice and the food came out fast. read more

I have not learned my lesson, I tried them again today and it was disgusting. The sushi rice was mushy and not holding up when you picked it up to eat. The salmon on the top was not fresh and tasted like paste and the shrimp had a fish odor. I promise I will not return, I deserve to receive edible food for the amount they charge for sushi. The wife really wanted to try it. I was hesitant since I was going to have to refinance my mortgage to get a few maki rolls. Anyway I gave into my wife like I always do and we refinanced. $97 for 3 rolls, edamame and chicken teriyaki. Didn't need the arm and leg it cost me since I'd be sitting down to eat and only needed one arm to use the chopsticks so it ended up being fine. Really tho, the spicy tuna roll had the smallest piece of tuna in it. Don't know how you can mess up a sweet potato roll but it was awful. The chicken teriyaki was inedible and came with uncooked vegetables. In all the sushi places I've ever ordered I've never gotten raw vegetables with a hot meal. The last roll (lobster with raw pieces of tuna and salmon on top) was actually pretty good. The presentation was nice but the food did not come close to the price or presentation. Amaaaaaazing! My tummy is full of fish and I have a huge smile on my face. The sushi was all super fresh. We had salmon nigiri (some of the freshest I've ever had), Christmas maki (super tasty spicy tuna roll with big chunks of tuna), winter maki (for the white tuna and scallop lover..my personal favorite), milton maki (a little heavy but still tasty), and the volcano roll (perfect mix of tempura and spicy tuna). We have been meaning to try Ichiro since moving to Milton. I am glad we finally did. The food here was really good and decently priced. We ordered primarily maki rolls (about 8 of them, see pics). The rolls were fresh and pretty tasty and creative. I would have to agree with one of the reviewers about the spiciness of the spicy tuna--it's not very spicy. We definitely over ordered as we were not sure if the rolls would be small or not--we had enough leftovers for another meal the next day. Service here is good--she kept checking in on us and refilling out tea. Our server accidentally gave us the wrong roll (which was intended for someone else). However we told her to put it on our check as we ate it and loved it (it was the Ichiro roll). I would definitely come back and try some other rolls and sushi. They had uni as a special on the board but they didn't have it when we ordered!! I was disappointed but had the fried oyster appetizer instead. The menu has other items like teriyaki and udon, but I would probably just stick with sushi. Decor is no frills. Parking is available on Adams street on any of the side streets in the area read more

Great people, atmosphere, and especially food!! I like to get miso soup, salad, seaweed salad and a couple of mellow rolls, and these guys killed it. Hot sake completed the picture. A home run!! --- I am returning after maybe 1.5 months. I cannot believe it, but they remembered exactly what I ordered, and even remembered my name from the business card I left. They are so well organized here, they have light in regular soy sauce on the table, and asked if it was OK to bring me water, to which I replied please no ice. That is top service. We ordered both the chicken and salmon teriyaki maki rolls which were really good! I've never seen that on a menu before but I'd recommend it for something different. I also got a caterpillar roll (my go to) and my husband got the vegetable dreaming maki. They were both yummy, but a word to the wise and the gluten free out there: the sweet potato on the veggie dreaming is tempura style so the rolls contain Panko. We will be back for sure! read more

I ordered delivery from this place. So i know nothing about the restaurant itself. The rolls were good and they have a decent selection of custom rolls, which is nice. But i agree with another reviewer here, they are bit expensive. And the sets are sets of 6. I was hoping for sets of 8 rolls. So while the flavor and taste was pretty good, but i don't the value was so high. Delivery was quick (I live a mile away) and they didn't miss anything. So there's that. Every time that I have visited there is a regular customer being greeted as though they're old friends. The restaurant is small. You can choose to sit at the bar and watch your sushi prepared or receive table service. Take out is also an option. There isn't anything special about the decor. It's a very clean restaurant with simple decorating that's expected in a sushi place. The food outshines the building itself, which is better than the opposite in my opinion!
