    Fish dip

Live music and seafood. You sit outside along the water. The place is enormous. Parking is everywhere. Tables everywhere. No clue how they keep track. Got a smoked fish dip for starters. Never had anything like this before. It's served with ritz crackers and small slices of jalapeño. It was absolutely delicious. Is this something that's at other places? Really never saw it before. For my main course I got the lemon herb salmon salad. Really didn't need the starter. This was plenty filling. Very good. Salmon had some bone in it so be careful. I was surprised by two pieces and one I accidentally swallowed. The avocado in the salad was not ripe at all. I had to pull it out. Couldn't stab my fork into it. Staff is awesome. Super friendly. Price is ok. It's seafood so... Overall I like the place.

Went to the Crab House because they have an all you can eat blue crab special. They have indoor and outdoor seating, with views of the surrounding wetlands. We ended up sitting outside because their was a long wait for the indoor seating. I ordered the all you can eat blue crab special, and the waitress explained she would be bringing my food out first, since the process of eating crabs would take longer. They started me off with about 2 dozen medium sized blue crabs. They were all male, seasoned heavily with Old Bay, cooked well, and easy to break down. It also came with an ear of corn and fries. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and checked in on us frequently. This was probably my favorite meal during my trip to Wildwood.

We visit the Crab House atleast once everytime we visit the region. We love their backside seating along Jarvis Sound. The views are pretty spectacular and we like watching all the boats come in to dock. Crowd levels can vary during peak season and sunny weather so plan ahead. The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking but it still gets busy in their large gravel lot. Especially when they have live music playing -- which is fun! It's an open aired environment with picnic tables so it's best when the weather cooperates. They do have the option to tent the restaurant in to close it off. Service has been okay over the years as they are more of a seasonal restaurant (I'm guessing). On our recent visit we opted for crab cakes which were good. Our son got the all you can eat blue crab. Most dishes range from $15-25 with the all you can eat based on market at around $40-60. After a few drinks the bill can easily crest $150 here for our party of 3. It's worth a visit more for the atmosphere than anything else!

The crab house was my favorite place while visiting Wildwood NJ. This place has amazing sunset views and great food and service to match. I got the lobster roll (cold) and absolutely crave another one with the French fries on the side. We also got other seafood dishes like their famous crab in my party. Shrimp service was also notably good. The vibes here are so great and relaxing and seafood is so fresh.

Service was exceptional. I sincerely appreciate the extensive menu. My yellowfish tuna sandwich was to live for! It really seems like an upscale restaurant on the water. Chef was very accommodating for my shellfish allergy.

July 27, 2024 - 8 for dinner We came by boat/dingy docked off the US Coast Guard facility. SEATED IMMEDIATELY and got a sunset water view table!!!!! I have been going to Stone Harbor, Avalon, SIC, Townsend Inlet and of course Cape May and Childwood since the 1960s. (lifeguard, sailing, fishing etc) Loved the old Zaberers in the 1970s. Never knew about this place.!!! WOW, stunning size and massive dining operation!!! And yet, the service, the food and the attitude of EVERY person working there and on the faces of the patrons was 'electric' and happy??? No food pictures as we were eating, conversing, and socializing with friends old and new. All the food was fantastic. Service was EXCEPTIONAL. Side note: We changed our plans and met friends HERE @ The Crab House after STANDING in the sun at Port Side Marina for over an hour on a TWO and a HALF hour projected wait for TWO 4 tops not together for our group of 8 table!!! (in the end, I was eating dinner at the Crab house almost THREE hours later when my "wait list 2.5 hour text message from Port Side arrived" .

We decided on dinner here last night (Friday evening week before Memorial Day weekend). None of us had been here before. The restaurant is huge and very well maintained! We were seated at an indoor window table. It was so nice! How did they know we were VIP? Lol Our server, Sam, was great and we will ask for her when we are down here again! We ordered a bunch of food-I enjoyed the seared scallops entree that comes with a side salad, veggie of the day, roll and potato. My boyfriend wound up ordering crab fries (real crab with cheese and sauce in the oven), fried clam strips, hush puppies and clam chowder. Our friend had soup and a large salad with shrimp on it (I forget which one it was). We were all very pleased with the food, service and restaurant!

Pleasantly surprised! The food was good, service was great, and the atmosphere (sitting out on the bay) was perfect! Will definitely return.

What's the best time to go and see a sunset in July?

This might sound silly, but I watch my phone to see the exact time for sunset. I get there 15 minutes early. Enjoy the view! ☺️

My family enjoyed two dinners here on a recent vacation to Wildwood Crest (we liked it enough to…read morecome back!). The restaurant is set apart from most of the other crowded areas near Wildwood which gives it a quieter, more homely feel. Lots of kid friendly options plus some nicer plates for the adults. Indoor table seating is pretty tight but they also have a nice patio and a bar area. We shared the shrimp from the raw menu (though it was cooked) both nights. Giant 1lb plate; not too hard to peel yourself. My wife really liked the crab cakes. They were very rich and came with a wonderful cooked vegetable medley side. I tried the shrimp gumbo bowl with a tomato sauce over rice. It was fine though a little more plain and the rice was a bit hard. My stepdad tried the reuben (giant) with an appetizer of potato leek soup (pretty creamy). He gave both a thumbs up. The kids' chicken tender platter was also huge. The tenders had a nice seasoning and were very thick. Tons of fries. My daughter tried the turkey sandwich one night; it came with a solid 3/4lb of deli turkey, so leftovers for like two days.

Seems like it's under new ownership. They spruced the front up and slimmed down the menu…read more We went on a slow Monday night. Service was ok. We got the drunken spicy shrimp, French onion soup, New Orleans hot bowl & tenders fries for the baby. Everything came out fast. French onion soup was solid and the star of the show. Tenders &'fries were basic run of Wildwood frozen Sysco special. I tell you (hint hint) if I was opening a restaurant down here, all you need to do to stand apart is make fresh cut fries and bread your chicken tenders and you're ahead of every restaurant. Anyhow back to our review. The drunken shrimp were decent size drenched in open jar of sweet spiced duck sauce. 1st impression, shrimp had gone to AA and have been on the wagon for a bit. The New orlean shrimp sausage bowl was mixed in tomato sauce w pepper and onion. Not a ton of flavor profile or spice needed for the Nola moniker. I will go back and try the cheesesteak and the roast beef dip. Crest Tavern. You dropped the Fitzpatrick now pick up the seasonings.
