Went to the Crab House because they have an all you can eat blue crab special. They have indoor and outdoor seating, with views of the surrounding wetlands. We ended up sitting outside because their was a long wait for the indoor seating. I ordered the all you can eat blue crab special, and the waitress explained she would be bringing my food out first, since the process of eating crabs would take longer. They started me off with about 2 dozen medium sized blue crabs. They were all male, seasoned heavily with Old Bay, cooked well, and easy to break down. It also came with an ear of corn and fries. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and checked in on us frequently. This was probably my favorite meal during my trip to Wildwood.

We visit the Crab House atleast once everytime we visit the region. We love their backside seating along Jarvis Sound. The views are pretty spectacular and we like watching all the boats come in to dock. Crowd levels can vary during peak season and sunny weather so plan ahead. The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking but it still gets busy in their large gravel lot. Especially when they have live music playing -- which is fun! It's an open aired environment with picnic tables so it's best when the weather cooperates. They do have the option to tent the restaurant in to close it off. Service has been okay over the years as they are more of a seasonal restaurant (I'm guessing). On our recent visit we opted for crab cakes which were good. Our son got the all you can eat blue crab. Most dishes range from $15-25 with the all you can eat based on market at around $40-60. After a few drinks the bill can easily crest $150 here for our party of 3. It's worth a visit more for the atmosphere than anything else!

The crab house was my favorite place while visiting Wildwood NJ. This place has amazing sunset views and great food and service to match. I got the lobster roll (cold) and absolutely crave another one with the French fries on the side. We also got other seafood dishes like their famous crab in my party. Shrimp service was also notably good. The vibes here are so great and relaxing and seafood is so fresh.

Service was exceptional. I sincerely appreciate the extensive menu. My yellowfish tuna sandwich was to live for! It really seems like an upscale restaurant on the water. Chef was very accommodating for my shellfish allergy.

July 27, 2024 - 8 for dinner We came by boat/dingy docked off the US Coast Guard facility. SEATED IMMEDIATELY and got a sunset water view table!!!!! I have been going to Stone Harbor, Avalon, SIC, Townsend Inlet and of course Cape May and Childwood since the 1960s. (lifeguard, sailing, fishing etc) Loved the old Zaberers in the 1970s. Never knew about this place.!!! WOW, stunning size and massive dining operation!!! And yet, the service, the food and the attitude of EVERY person working there and on the faces of the patrons was 'electric' and happy??? No food pictures as we were eating, conversing, and socializing with friends old and new. All the food was fantastic. Service was EXCEPTIONAL. Side note: We changed our plans and met friends HERE @ The Crab House after STANDING in the sun at Port Side Marina for over an hour on a TWO and a HALF hour projected wait for TWO 4 tops not together for our group of 8 table!!! (in the end, I was eating dinner at the Crab house almost THREE hours later when my "wait list 2.5 hour text message from Port Side arrived" .

We decided on dinner here last night (Friday evening week before Memorial Day weekend). None of us had been here before. The restaurant is huge and very well maintained! We were seated at an indoor window table. It was so nice! How did they know we were VIP? Lol Our server, Sam, was great and we will ask for her when we are down here again! We ordered a bunch of food-I enjoyed the seared scallops entree that comes with a side salad, veggie of the day, roll and potato. My boyfriend wound up ordering crab fries (real crab with cheese and sauce in the oven), fried clam strips, hush puppies and clam chowder. Our friend had soup and a large salad with shrimp on it (I forget which one it was). We were all very pleased with the food, service and restaurant!

If you like crabs this is a must visit stop! The place is large but there is normally a wait. There are a few different bars you can to and have a drink while you wait. We had a nice large picnic table for our group of 7. They had live music which is always have a plus. Our waitress said it was her 4th day but you would have never known, she was great. For apps, my favorite is the crab stuffed pretzel. It is so delicious! For dinner I had the crabs that you have to break open, which is messy but also fun. This is a great family spot and a must for us every time we are vacationing in the area.

Came with a friend during Wildwood's Restaurant Week in September. We loved their $40 Prix Fixe menu! I ended up doing Firecracker Popcorn Shrimp, Salad, and the Tuna Poke Bowl. My friend got the Fried Clam Strips, Cup of Soup, and the 2 Mile Stuffed Chicken. There was some initial confusion as to what the chicken was stuffed with, because it apparently is different day to day. Also a little confusion as to what the soup of the day was. Not a big deal but thought the server would've known that by the 2nd time we asked about it. That aside, everything was amazing! Since it was a Prix Fixe meal, we were expecting small sampler sizes for every part of the meal. That couldn't have been farther from the truth. The appetizer portions alone probably could've served as entire meals! The firecracker shrimps were delicious, it reminded me of General Tso's Chicken but had shrimp instead. There was so much I had to (happily) take leftovers. The tuna poke bowl was also seasoned incredibly well with good sauce. The coconut rice that came with it gave it a very interesting flavor. However, I think my favorite was the stuffed chicken which had prosciutto inside! Sadly, my friend and I were running late for plans after dinner so we were unable to get the dessert which was part of the meal (that was in no way the restaurant's fault). But the choices were Chocolate Mousse and Bread Pudding. If their restaurant week menu is any indication, I would whole heartedly recommend eating here. Despite being a busy day during peak hours, service was pretty decent. This place also has a pretty picture perfect view of the bay. You should visit during sunset.

Like this restaurant. Very good food. Just what I wanted. Waitress was not that experienced but very nice and friendly. Will definitely come back.

What's the best time to go and see a sunset in July?

This might sound silly, but I watch my phone to see the exact time for sunset. I get there 15 minutes early. Enjoy the view! ☺️

A lovely greeting on entrance. My wife and I used to work at an iconic eatery in phila called Taylor's country store and both of us looked at each other and said we get the same vibes. The decorations were just what you'd hope for in an eclectic little restaurant. Located on the edge of the villas maybe 15 mins from wildwood and cape May if you're visiting down the beach or shore don't sleep on this place. Now for the food we were looking for lunch we have our go to spots but wanted to change it up and I'm so glad my wife chose TBD. Has a great menu with something for everyone. I got a hot roast beef because it's one of my favorites. Side of fries hand cut. First the sandwich was everything I had hoped for I go a couple Roast beef sand places but this has shot to the top. Gravy on the side is how it came and it was just what the sand was meant for ciabatta roll soaked it up perfectly, no prob I'm not a fan of the disintegrating gravy sand I like to control the gravy. Roast beef was thick but not out of control thick, didn't need sharks teeth to bite through it. And not any gristle which definitely mattersHorseradish on the side a little bite not your make your nose run hot but hot enough. Hand cut fries delicious crispy hot and a perfect pairing to dip in the gravy. The pickle was exactly how you want a deli pickle to be crunchy fresh and sharp flavored w real dill I will say it again perfect . My wife had the burger it was huge tasty I know because I had half the right amount of everything. She chose the fresh homemade chips they were marvelous too I know because I grudgingly gave up a few fries to have some chips. It was big enough she said she would be skipping dinner. Anyway it's the kind of place you leave saying I can't wait to go back and try the other choices because you know they will all be made with culinary care and taste great. Don't step nod or miss this place. Being on weight watchers I know I'm gonna regret finding it, but you shouldn't it's on rt 47 the sign w the two black dogs sorry no pics of the food but I was hungry and scarfed it down before thinking

He could have been a little more attentive, drinks ran out without refill. Not bad ... just not particularly fast or thorough. The roast beef sandwich is good. Plenty of beef. Great bread! Tasty au jus. The fries are handmade. My wife really liked them - I would have preferred a little crispier. So, if you like homemade fries, you'll love them. Prices are very fair. Which is good, because they don't take credit cards so you'll have to use their ATM if you forget cash. It's a good spot and worth a try.

First, we were seated in the back where the wait station and door to kitchen was located and staff was just standing around. Server was nice and attentive and our food (just appetizers) were good. The issue we had was the overly aggressive bussers who kept trying to take our plates away even when it was apparent that we were not finished. This happened several times. We dislike when dirty dishes are left in front of us but this was over the top and intrusive. With so many options around town, we likely won't be back.

The beer selection is always impressive, with plenty of options to satisfy just about every taste. Service can be hit or miss depending on when you visit and who's working, but that's often the case at busy shore destinations. My family stops here on almost every trip to our home on the Cape May Bay, so we've experienced it at its best and busiest. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a popular shore restaurant. And yes, if you know about the bathroom situation, you know--it really deserves a permanent fix rather than another temporary patch. The menu offers something for everyone. The pizzas are consistently good, the bar food delivers exactly what you'd expect, and there are several signature dishes that are always reliable and full of flavor. When the restaurant gets crowded, you'll definitely notice it in both the service and the overall vibe, but that's just part of the shore experience. Overall, I'd recommend giving it a try. Go in with realistic expectations during peak times, and chances are you'll have a great meal. We almost always do, and I think you will too.
