Was really excited to try Harry's while on vacation in Cape May and unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Upon sitting down, I noticed there were flys everywhere. I get that the windows are open but the fans definitely could've been on to help. Our server forgot our one appetizer and my Mom's meal as well which wasn't great. Excellent Brunch Menu! My friend was visiting so we decided to check it out, and take advantage of off season perks like no crowds,quality food and great atmosphere. We enjoyed sharing a Bagel Board (omg) that was generous in portion size and such fresh lox, red onions, fig spread (delicious!) and cinnamon cream cheese. A couple behind us ordered the blueberry French toast board, and were equally impressed with their meal. It looked so delicious that we actually came back the next day to enjoy that! I highly recommend the Bloody Mary flight! The bacon infused vodka was amazing! We had excellent service from Jazzy on Saturday and Shannon (?) on Sunday. I ordered from the special restaurant week menu: a ricotta spread with red pepper and crostini to start, followed by chicken milanese with a side salad, and finished with blueberry cobbler. Portions were on the smaller side. The ricotta spread was tasty, the chicken milanese was average, and the blueberry cobbler was quite sweet. Service was good, and the casual, lively rooftop atmosphere with ocean views made for a fun setting. We had a reservation, so seating was prompt and comfortable. Prices felt so-so compared to the food quality and portion sizes. I'd recommend Harry's more for drinks and the ambiance rather than the food itself. read more

Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed in the tented outdoor patio area and the rooftop! We were so fortunate to be visiting during the fall and got to experience their "Boo Bar," a Halloween themed pop-up experience with specialty drinks, spooky decor, and guests wildly dressed up for the costume contest. Prime rib sandwich was not prime rib. quality was very poor. mostly fat and grizzle. was not able to chew it..asked for no horseradish sauce on sandwich. upon arrival it was noticeably smothered with the sauce. Buffalo chicken sandwich was dry and overcooked and had tomato slice on it even though we requested no tomato. crab cake sandwich was blah in flavor. I asked for red sauce to be put on side and it was on the sandwich. Not a fan of that sauce. The chicken bites were doable but nothing to write home about. Our Server was Austin and he was awesome and very accommodating. however you need to step up your game on quality of food and possibly inform your cooks they need to read their tickets. can't say I will return nor will I recommend. read more

While visiting Cape May, we decided to head on over to Harry's after a local recommendation. It was all decked out with some spooktacular decor, which added to the lively scene. Savoring the warmer temps on an early October weekend, we headed up to the outdoor deck for a cocktail, and lite bite to eat (no spooky theme outdoors.) Our server was friendly, and my Fall Themed cocktail (Chocolate Martini,) was good, but missing the toasted marshmallow listed in the description. I'd have to agree with some other Yelpers that the food is just "eh." We ordered the Pumpkin Prosciutto Flatbread, and while certainly edible, it was just missing something, that could have elevated it. I've gone back and forth on if I should even leave a review but it's been a month and the whole thing still has left a sour taste in my mouth. I had been planning my sisters bachelorette in cape May for a few months and when she mentioned she would love to go a dueling pianos AND I saw Harry's had them on Saturday nights, it felt like a no brainer. A month out from the trip I tried making a reservation - our party was too big for open table, I couldn't get anyone on the phone and I sent a few emails with no luck. Finally I reached out over DMs on Instagram and was helped pretty quick, they said our reservation was booked (great!). Come the day of our reservation, we show up 10 minutes early only to find that our reservation was NOT booked (not great!). We had 14 girls all together. I understand and mistakes happen, but what really bothered me was how the whole situation was handled. After looking at us all like we had 2 heads, they offered to put us in the wait list (about 20 minutes) and said we could go upstairs and enjoy drinks while we waited. About 30 minutes later when we still hadn't received a text that the table was ready, I had to go back down and ask for an update to which I was met with a dismissive tone and essentially told we still had to wait. After about 45 minutes they finally sat us (unfortunately at 2 separate tables but we were at least next to each other). The bartenders & our waiter & waitress were very nice, the food was enjoyable and the drinks were great, but the whole ordeal with the reservation and how everything was handled completely put a damper on the whole night, not once did they apologize for the miscommunication or inconvenience or even just own up to the mistake. It was our last night out for the whole weekend and I really wish we had chosen to celebrate elsewhere, especially considering we only picked Harry's for dueling pianos and they ended up being canceled that night. read more

It's been a week and I am still thinking about my experience here. Every restaurant me and my boyfriend have been to since we relive our experience at Harry's like it's PTSD. when we first got to Harry's nobody greeted us at the door. We stood there wondering if it was closed. It wasn't. We waited for somebody to come seat us and I got to the point where we had to wave our arm at somebody walking by. Finally, we got sat. 10 minutes later. Immediately, we recognize the fact that the menus online are in accurate to the menus in person. I was craving fish and chips (which are not on the menu in person) and instead, I asked for a PLAIN CHEESEBURGER. when somebody asks for a plain cheeseburger, you assume that just means a cheeseburger. The patty, the bun and cheese and if you're confused, you ask for clarification so we wait for our food to come. Our server seemed confident in our simple order and so we wait. And we wait. And we wait. And finally, our food comes out. It is a burger. Lettuce, tomato, patty. No cheese. At this point, we had waited 20 minutes for our food, and our server was nowhere to be found. So we waited for her to come so we could ask for cheese on the side, we had no problem, taking off the lettuce and tomatoes. She never showed up. My boyfriend had to go find her from the POS system where she was standing on her phone. He simply asked her. "Hey I think we ordered a cheeseburger. Could we get cheese on the side to put it on our burger?" and instead of apologizing or helping she just said "you said burger." Which we did not. We ordered the same thing at the beginning to make it easy for our server. Instead of apologizing or making it better, they came and put cheese on a plate very obviously kraft singles, and then we didn't see our server until she wanted the bill and wanted her money. I wasn't going to make a bad review, but then I overheard another server talking to a table who had ordered appetizers, and when she asked after they placed the order of appetizers, and she had rung it in, if the appetizers could come at the same time as their food and they said no, we would like the appetizers before, she had simply stated something along the lines of "OK well our kitchen is very busy. You were not the only table and here our kitchen has to deal with the upstairs and downstairs area." that's when I realize that the service at this restaurant is absolutely horrible. Waitress was the nicest and very attentive. *waitress mentioned the birds are a problem & 1 actually snagged her whole tray of items. We saw wiring put up at other places & this needs that badly* (Something to look into for 100% sure) Food was 10/10 and the fries were very good. Buns were soft and the chicken was just enough spice and pepper heat. Crab cake sandwich could've had some more sauce or something with it but tons of fresh crab taste. Went to out to eat with my friends and found no one at the front to serve me. Food was god awful felt like I was eating dog shit. Lobster bisque had hair in it and was lumpy. Ever since the menu change (change of owners/management?) this place just hasn't been the same. We used to love coming here in the summers and sitting on the roof while ordering some food and drinks. We went to "Harry's Jingle Bar" last night - their Christmas-filled restaurant with holiday themed drinks - and it was very underwhelming. While the decor was beautiful, the drinks and food were just not great. We ordered a few of their Christmas themed drinks including the candy cane crush, the grinch, holiday sangria, and espresso peppermint martini and we really couldn't drink more than a few sips, which is super surprising because we always said they had some of the best crushes around. The food was subpar and not anything exciting. The wings were probably the best item we got. We took one bite of the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and didn't eat the rest. Really unfortunate because the staff is great and, as mentioned, we used to love this place with the previous menu. It's just not the same anymore. read more

I booked a Friday night dinner because they were also had a band playing (Alzonia). I made a reservation on the website, but when I arrived the hostess advised reservations are only for the downstairs area. But, I could go up and see if seating was available. THEN, when I got upstairs I was told most of the seats were off-limits due to a wedding reception. I was getting frustrated, but we did find a table. Cool. We ordered drinks, listed to the steel drums, and people watched as the wedding party trickled in. I ordered a simple beer and my girl ordered the 'Lemon Crush'. For startes we ordered fried calamari and clam chowder (pronounced chowda). My girl enjoyed the chowda, but the calamari was lacking. It didn't have any seasoning and wasn't fried enough (I didn't think you could go wrong with calamari, but I guess you can). For our main entrees I had a dish which consisted of scallops over rice (I can't recall the name as this is a delayed post). My girl ordered a paella. Again, the scallops were overcooked, drowned in some sort of sauce and the dish was just plain awful. My girl relayed the paella was okay. So, what a difference a couple of years makes. I absolutely loved this place on my last visit. What happened? Oh well, I'll probably check it out when I return. Maybe there will be a new chef. This review is based off the Cape May Restaurant Week experience. This place rocked! For starters, they are on the Open Table app so it was very easy to make a reservation. Not that we really needed one, we came early enough that there were plenty of open tables and we were seated immediately. We were seated in the dining room adjacent to the bar and the open patio. It was a very casual and friendly atmosphere with patrons at the bar watching a sports game. We both went with the special Prix Fixe menu. My selections were: Sweet Pea Arancini, Creole Shrimp and Grits, and Triple Carrot Cake for dessert. My friend went with: Mexican Street Corn Dip and Chips, Chicken and Chorizo Pasta, and Chocolate Cake for dessert. Note: he originally ordered the Apple Bread Pudding for dessert which was unavailable during our visit. However, our server Courtney informed us of this change and allowed us to substitute the dessert with one from their normal menu. That was cool of them! The Sweet Pea Arancini was probably my favorite part of the meal. I've never had this dish before so it completely blew me away. I suggest they include a picture of it on their menu! The description of it on their menu doesn't do it justice. It was fried to perfection with crispy outer shell. The inside was filled with a creamy risotto-esque consistency with the rice and the peas ready to ooze out. It was such a great dish. The rest of the meal didn't trail too far behind either! I'm usually not somebody who enjoys grits too much, but the Shrimp & Grits entree was very good to me! The grits had a very good savory taste and I enjoyed the sauce that came with the shrimp. The Mexican Street Corn came in a very generous portion that was perfect for sharing. When it came to dessert, honestly the carrot cake wasn't anything special. That's not to say it was bad, but the rest of the meal was much better! I would definitely be willing to return to Harry's for another go! Came here for a family dinner on Saturday evening. The band upstairs on the deck was loud yet tolerable. However, with the DJ & music it was so loud we could not have a conversation amongst ourselves without screaming across the table. We would've dealt with the dueling pianos or the band at that point. The service was decent. However, the food has a lot of work to be done. We chose this restaurant due to reading the menu online and picking what we wanted, only to be told the online menu wasn't updated yet and items have changed. The macaroni & cheese was completely tasteless, the flounder was extremely well done and the clam chowder was just OK. Honestly, the French fries were the only good thing. My husband and I went to Harry's Ocean Bar & Grille during a day trip to Cape May. We chose it because of their dog friendly policies (you can have your dog with you in the patio and/or the rooftop). The restaurant was definitely busy and vibrant from the moment we walked in. They had live music in the rooftop section and you could tell right away it is a popular spot in the area. Even with how busy they were we were seated right away because we decided to not wait for the rooftop. Everybody was very hospitable and attentive. The service was also rather quick which is always a plus, specially when you are very hungry. Both the drink and food menus had great variety, they serve beach Americana food and their signature drinks are their refreshing crushers with several different flavors. The food itself was tasty although there really was nothing that stood out beyond simple yummy food. Overall, it's a fun, hangout spot with solid drinks and good food. read more

Six of us walked over from our hotel and experienced a very enjoyable and relaxed dinner Friday night. I started off with a big glass of Blackberry Sangria ($12). Our table shared an appetizer off the Weekend Special menu- a very yummy Crab Dip plate with house made pretzel chips. It had a lot of lump crab meat and melted cheddar, and was quite delicious. I ordered a cup of their clam chowder and a Brussels Sprouts and Arugula Salad ($14) with Asiago Cheese and a Lemon Parmesan dressing. The chowder was excellent- thick with chopped clams and diced potatoes. So was my salad - super fresh, generously portioned and perfectly dressed.
