I spent a week calling roofing companies only to be told that I would have to have my entire roof inspected and the minimum cost for any repair would be $450 - $500 even if it the repair was replacing two shingles. Some companies even wanted to charge me additional fees due to the steep pitch of the roof. As you can imagine I was about ready to find myself a really tall ladder and brave the roof myself when I got a call back from Mr. Graves at Graves Roofing in Rockwall, TX. He offered to go out and have a look at the roof and said he'd call me. The same day, in the rain, none the less, Mr. Graves personally went out to my house and found the area with the 2 missing shingles and realized the shingles were on my porch in good condition. So he called me up and said he wouldn't feel right charging me for such a minor repair and promptly got to the repair. I made several offers to pay him and he simply refused. The next day when I arrived home from work he was just finishing up and had actually done more than we had discussed just to make sure I was fully repaired and yet he would not accept any payment. I was absolutely blown away after having dealt with the all the other companies who wanted to talk money before they ever looked at my roof. Mr. Graves has made a customer for life in us. When I first met the owner of the company, Vincent Salazar, the first thing I noticed was his willingness to break down every aspect of the job, from cost of labor, cost of materials, margin, I mean he was like an open book. This struck me immediately. The guy was forthright from the beginning, and when my insurance company (State Farm) would not approve my roof replacement, I was presented several public adjuster's to combat SF's unwillingness to do what was right-replace my badly hail damaged roof! When the work finally started, Vincent was the first one their before his crew to explain to me the scope of what to expect. His team was there before 8am and had my 4000+sq ft home's roof done within one business day. Additionally, he upgraded my shingles to 60 year shingles which ended up with me getting a $3,000 refund from SF for having 60 year shingles installed at no up charge. Lastly, I was told of this great incentive program where if I refer a friend or a neighbor who ends up needing a roof replaced, I get a $500 bonus referal. Works for me!
