The project took 4 1/2 weeks from the day they started the kitchen demo. Note in the before photos that we had fur downs & square recessed lights both of which they removed giving us taller upper cabinets & adjustable brightness LED canned lights. We also had them replaced the square lights in our living room & swap the floodlights in our family room's canned lights for the same adjustable LEDs. The general contractor did a really great job of managing the project & has several great subs that he has worked with long term (cabinets, countertops, & tile/backsplash) for work that his own staff doesn't focus on (1/2 of whom are his family). Very high quality work with an attention to detail including bringing any issues to our attention so that they can be addressed (e.g., leaking faucet in the laundry room). Very reasonable pricing & they were agreeable to us adding on extra things like replacing the switches & outlets outside of the kitchen area with the same square modern ones that were put in our "new" kitchen. We are also having them paint the paneling in our family room as a separate project that they will do this week. We will absolutely call them first for any future projects. He seemed kind and pleasant to work with. This was for additional room for my house. He told me that he only needed 4-6 weeks to complete the additional room to my house. We had an agreement that he should factor everything into the cost, so that he won't ask for any extra money later on. After I made the full payment of about $60,000, Alex started behaving strangely. Him or his employees would show up only for a few hours sometimes, no call or show for weeks at times, intentionally delay the construction etc. And when I politely asked him why the construction was taking so long to complete, Alex responded with angry outbursts, and ask for extra money. Each time the price would increase. First it started by him asking me for tips, then he would ask for extra $100 etc. Eventually, he started demanding to be paid $7000 extra even though we have fully paid him the $60,000 that we agreed on from the beginning. When he had these angry outbursts he would insult me using the words, " You're so stupid", " fuck you"... etc He would also falsely accuse me of things that I didn't say. I would like him to screenshot whatever he's accusing me of and post it here for everyone to see. I have posted some of the screenshots of the insults that he sent me. When he demanded the extra $7,000, I asked him to send me bill that detail what he is charging me for, but he has refused to do that. He knocked down my 2 windows connected to my house and refused to seal them up. So, this creates a safety hazard. I'm writing this to warn potential victims. Please make sure you hire a lawyer before you entrust him into doing any work for him. He does seem nice, please don't fall for that. I read the good reviews on this page about his company and believe them. He told me that he was going to complete the project in 02/2025... It's 05/06/2025 and he hasn't completed the construction. Please don't be like me. Have a lawyer present before you sign anything with Alex. I will add more details/screenshots later as needed. Thanks.
