Delicious drinks! This was my first time going back in the last few years. The menu has definitely grown and the decor has changed. Typically I just get a classic milk tea but i've been looking for a good yogurt drink. This has got to be my favorite in town now! The boba/tapioca pearls were super soft which so nice. The staff was super nice and helpful. The wait time wasn't that long as all either. Ample seating inside with cute murals and a nice LED sign. Something for everyone here! I liked that the drinks also were not that sweet. However my friend who likes hers sugary was wishing hers was sweeter. So keep in mind as they do not ask for people's desired sugar levels. read more

What can I say... after a subpar experience at Kabob House this more than made up for it So I thought to myself the last time I had Durian fruit it was stinky. What the heck... I went for the Durian ice cream. The way they make it it's sorta like Coldstone creamery on steroids. They definitely get a pump for the novelty factor here. We are all familiar with cold stone, which is made for you on a cold stone, but until recently I was not familiar with such delicacies being made on a cold slab, and then rolled for my consumption! The folks here do just that and make it look pretty with plentiful, often brightly colored toppings! This place is located next to kebab House and charter college, just behind Wendy's off of knob Hill. The place has a relatively small footprint, but is doing some awesome things with ice cream. We shared a double Oreo, which was Oreos mixed into the ice cream, topped with an Oreo, Froot Loops, Banana slices and a Poky stick. It was very tasty! Our adventurous little man got milk tea with tapioca bubbles, and they did a very nice job of it! They also have an option that is coming soon of red been on top, which look like a red version of the tapioca balls. Very excited to try this! There's seating for maybe 30 people inside and they had plenty of folks helping move things along. The options for ice cream included a dozen or so defines options as well as more than you can shake a stick at if you are using your imagination. They also have bubble tea, including milk tea and smoothies. This is definitely going to be a place we hit up a lot over the summer! There's really no reason you shouldn't be trying this place... Rolled ice cream seems to taste slightly better than normal ice cream for some reason. Treat yo self! read more

Ice cream: ordered monkey business which tasted reminiscent of dippin dots banana split. Slightly disappointing they use costco brand hazelnut spread instead of actual nutella because hazelnut flavor is barely there. We walked in maybe a day or two after they opened and the line was outside the door. Thai ice cream and milk tea are new offers in Yakima and the response from the people in line really reflected this. I really liked and was surprised by the amount of work that goes into making this. There are four separate stations that are each working on a dish. There current menu covers form different types of ice cream from the classics that include Oreos, coffee, strawberries and bananas to more unusual flavors like avocado and Durian. Icy Tai....Yakima is a predominately Mexi/Brand Name restaurant type area. Recently though, Yaktown has experienced a growth of eateries that are familiar to those on the East and West coast. In the past, when a person thought of having a cold treat, the options were Baskin Robin, Dairy Queen, Or a shake from the burger joints. Next came the frozen yogurt "buffets." Lastly, we have been blessed with gourmet frozen creamery business. This evening, with friends and family, we gave Icy Tai a go. For weeks, I've heard mixed reviews about how great it was but there was a long wait between ordering and receiving the order. Let's dive into the review. The location is in a very new development that offers a wide variety of services....mainly food! It's where blockbuster used to be on Nob Hill. It's the same building as Charter College, Kabob House, and Dickey's BBQ all in the Rainier Square. There is seating for about 30 people. The ordering board over the register had some smaller font which presented some difficulty seeing the menu. This was corrected though by a paper menu. We arrived at 8pm on a Friday evening. There were several families enjoying their order and several that came after we ordered. We had a party of 5... on a Friday evening, we waited 9minutes and 22seconds for our order. Perhaps there's been a learning curve from opening day to this evening. I'd say the order came super fast considering each order is made from scratch. A liquid cream is poured on a cold flat surface. The cream is blended with toppings, chopped by hand, and then smeared from side to side making a thin film. The film is chilled and stripped away in rolls, much like sod is for a yard. A yard reference, it's the best I could come up with. After each strip is roll up, they are placed inside a bowl and arranged like a bouquet. "Hey, what about the pricing?" Glad you asked. We had bubble tea as well as one of the one of the frozen treats. The frozen treats were around 6.00 each, two people could easily share it.... it's ice cream though and tastes better when it's not shared. An experience like this is truly one of a kind. read more

This is for their boba drinks. They were out of boba when we were there, but no big deal, I went with red beans. I ordered regular milk tea with red beans and I watched them make it. They use powdered milk, added liquid, loads of ice and some tea. The taste of powdered milk over shadowed any tea flavor. Simply not a good drink and I got an upset stomach after drinking the tea. We've been going to Yakima for softball for a few years now and have found a great spot to stay and heard last time that there was a rolled ice cream spot around the corner from us, SO we were on a mission to find it and Yelp, as usual, seals the deal! Walking in there was a line but we are use to it, especially when traveling for these tournaments. It just gave us more time to decide what we wanted as the options they had were almost endless!! The Icy Tai is the hero Gotham needed, but not the hero Gotham deserved. When it comes to something original and fun people never think about the excitement of Yakima. This place however is creative, unique, and overall and most importantly, delicious! Affordable too. Smoothies are so good! The place smells a little bit stuffy as if there's no ventilation but the smoothies are really good! Service though, isn't the best, the employees (whenever I'm there at least) seem lazy and don't attend you right away. Sometimes I understand if they're busy but most times I'm waiting and they're on their phone texting, back towards the door. It's quite sad to see lack of service when the products are so good, I guess it makes up for service but because of lack of it I won't be going back. This may be harsh only one star. However instead of remaking me ice cream from scratch they tried to pass it off on to me from a mistake they made. I don't like whipped cream at all can't stand it. So it limits me to two options i ordered number 13. Avocado. They asked me if it's okay with whipped cream i said no. However they still tried to serve it to me by scooping out most of the cream. The ice cream in itself was ok. I was expecting a lot more flavor. It just seemed really milky for the taste. I got the #3 and my fiancé got the #1, and we both had the same thoughts. I'm giving it a 2 star rating because there's a lot of room for improvement. The service was very awkward and unfriendly, and the wait time was extremely slow. Not only that but my fiancé and I ordered ours together and they came 15-20 minutes apart. There's no organization for when it gets busy. We waited for almost 20 minutes for his ice cream just for someone to almost take it had we not been watching. Hair nets should be a must and they're not. Slightly disappointing. read more

I was pretty excited when I heard there was a new ice cream place in town! My brother tried to explain to me exactly what it was, but you really need to experience it to fully understand it. When you come in, they have screens showing all of the different order options. The screens were pretty small in were hard to see, but they've also got some handouts that you can grab which show the exact same thing. We order the the double oreo and the chocolate graham cracker. After ordering it's kind of a cluster trying to get your order. They don't have any sort of numbering system so it turns into a free-for-all with everyone else who might have ordered the same item as you. They definitely need to do something to fix this. It does not a lot of seating, so finding a spot during peak times can be tough. After the confusion settled of whose order was actually up we got our desserts. They were really good! The ice cream is significantly lighter than what you would typically expect (almost like a sorbet), but the flavors were all there. This place is definitely worth a try for everyone who enjoys ice cream! We plan to be back regularly! read more

Who doesn't like ice cream? I personally love ice cream, and Icy Thai is a really fun and delicious treat. We went to Icy Thai and ordered the Banana Strawberry and the S'mores. I really enjoyed watching them make the ice cream rolls. The s'mores came with a graham cracker and a marshmallow that they had toasted with a blow torch. The banana strawberry came with pieces of banana, whipped cream and caramel. Both were really flavorful and I thought that they were delicious. The only thing I would say is that they should put a glass divider to separate the place where they make the ice cream rolls from where people stand and wait for them. That way no one coughs on the ice cream or anything. I give Icy Thai a 5 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend. read more

They have the worst customer service I've ever seen! I went in with my 1 year old and 3 year old and ordered a tea and 2 ice creams. The tea came out in 10 minutes, the first ice cream came out in 1 hour and the second ice cream came out 2 hours later after they closed because they had forgotten about that order. They started turning people away before their actual closing time because they were so busy and people were getting mad because they weren't technically closed yet. After my full order was complete 2 hours later with 2 restless kids, I asked if there was any way to be compensated for my time and their screw up, such as a discount on my next visit or something, anything, and they said that "they don't do that". What type of customer service is that?!?! The orders don't come out all at once, they are extremely unorganized, confused, rude, and their customer service sucks!!!
