    Feeding Turtles

Great little spot to see all sorts of reptiles up close and personal. Everyone was helpful and kids get a chance to feed turtles and tortoises during their visit. Great price too!

This place is such a gem! I didn't know what to expect because of the limited photos here on Yelp and a non-functioning website, but WOW! I am so happy I came here with my family (husband, MIL, son (8), and daughter (4) First of all, service is above and beyond. All the employees seem to love their job and are very knowledgeable about the animals there. They took their time to discuss the animals with my kids during demonstration/feeding time. We came on a day the AC was not working so they were giving out popsicles to the kids. What a nice and thoughtful gesture! The animals themselves are super cool. There's a great variety of not only reptiles, but tarantulas and a few birds. There are small posters giving information on each animal and their names. You can pet the animals that aren't in a cage and an employee will come out periodically with an animal for you to observe more closely. You can feed the tortoises lettuce and give turtles some meal worms. I'm unsure about all the pricing, but I don't believe it was expensive at all to come in. I think you can also purchase some of the animals and applicable equipment. We loved the whole experience. We are thinking of adopting a couple tortoises after coming here. I hope this establishment flourishes. If you're on the fence about coming here, just do it! You won't regret it!

It was so much fun for the whole family. It's cost friendly and children under three years old get a free entry. My toddlers were able to pet an iguana and a snake. Also we were able feed the turtles & tortoise and there is plenty of reptiles to look at. I would highly definitely recommend this place for a family outing.

We went to visit family in idaho. Looked for something to do indoors because it was cold. The staff here was very friendly. Lots of hands on interaction with the reptiles. Learned lots and had a great time. Would recommend if your looking for something to do while in boise indoors with the kids. Great for my small grandchildren to run around and look at things and hands on activities.

Great place to spend some time and get up close with a large variety of reptiles along with some birds and fish. We spent about two hours here just taking our time admiring them all, and really appreciated being able to pet and hold some of them.

The cats' rooms are extremely clean and well-maintained. Each room also has an outdoor catio that cats have access to. The staff are friendly and well-informed about the cats. They also write notes on the walls within the rooms about each cat for visitors to reference to. Response time to emails is very fast and staff do well in assisting with issues, even after adoption has taken place. We adopted two cats and have had a great experience during and after the adoption process. We will definitely be visiting again the next time we choose to adopt another cat.

So, preemptively, I checked the box "indoor/outdoor" on their adoption form. They asked for explanation. I explained that we'd allow the cat to go outside if he/they wanted to. We live out in the mountains, so there is plenty of space to explore. We were rejected by this organization because we are "out of policy" I offered to provide references, vet references, pictures of our old cat, etc. We were emotionally engaged (at the start) with two little guys, and this place rejected me and offered me another cat. I am incredibly sad and nowhere on their website says they would "reject" me. This place will allow you to engage emotionally, only to reject you. Suggest going to Idaho Humane Society as they don't discriminate.

The vets Roxie has seen there were caring, gentle, compassionate, concerned and genuinely interested in my dogs health. Educated, experienced and qualified to provide exceptional care for my animal. They have given financial assistance to me for my dog in the past more than one time. I've been ever so grateful for! Idaho Humane Society staff is courteous, they communicate between staff great. Professional opinions on one occasion that the mass removed from my dog ( a different dog) was not cancerous and recommended it wasn't necessary to send of for further research to find out if the mass was cancerous. She was accurate! Sadly this particular vet that provided care for the mass left the Idaho Humane Society. I believe she relocated. All my experiences with IHS have been good except one time about 13 years ago. My dog at that time was very sick, the vet treated me like I was abusing my dog. My dog was terminal, I didn't realize how sick my dog was. I got him from a rescue and I believe when I got him he was already very ill. Which I later discovered after the exam at IHS. The vet recommended to euthinize. I was in shock. The vet refused to let me leave with my dog and said the dog had to go into the hospital or be immediately euthinized. I couldn't afford the hospital care and the dog was obviously at the end of it's life. I wanted to spend until the next morning with my dog before I had him put down. The vet treated me terrible and basically tried to keep us hostage at The IHS. When the vet left the exam room for a few minutes, I immediately left out a side door with my dog and went home. Later animal control showed up at my door wanting to view my dog and take possession of my animal because of that vet! I had beat them to the punch and already contacted Kuna Pet Care Clinic for an appointment to have the dog euthinized the next morning. Once I informed animal control officer that no she wasn't going to take the dog and that I had made arrangements, the officer verified it with Kuna Vet Pet Care Clinic. And then IHS vet and animal control officer couldn't take action any further. Kuna Vet Care Clinic was extremely compassionate and helpful with the services to end the dogs life. It was a horrible experience with IHS. But this was many years ago and I'm sure that vet is no longer with IHS. Also I believe a vet like that one was a very rare vet in terms of vets aren't typically lacking compassion, treating animal owners like they are animal abusers. Vets usually aren't demanding and controlling either. I think it was a isolated experience. I don't believe IHS would ever have another vet similar to that one. I definitely highly recommend IHS. More than I would other vets and vet hospitals such as West Vet. They have horrible reviews.
