From the first interaction at the front desk, to X-rays, exam, cleaning, and checkout, everyone was lovely. There is a positivity and professionalism in the office that is so refreshing. It was great to relax and feel like I was in good hands. Dr. Mendez and Rae did a super job. In addition, the office is small and personable. Everything is clean and rather spotless. I started by calling first, to make sure they accepted my Ins. Yes ok. Front desk person ok nice enough. Prompt got me in timely. So far so good. Person cleaned my teeth with circular thing. I needed a top filing. Dr started to drill WITHOUT NOVOCAINE! Had to tell her to use it. The next day when I looked in mirror I saw that 2 other filings at gum line had been knocked out by the previous cleaning. I went back next day. Dr became defensive saying she didn't "do that" . But she refilled the holes. I don't even remember the reason for the next appt. But she wanted ,$500.00 to replace my gold crown. Which I declined. Whatever it was too much to replace the crown. Then they said my next appt was so much because there was only approx $100.00 left on my Ins. So I left and told counter person Michelle to cancel all I was never coming back. Now 2 months later I get a bill for $364.00!!!! DONT DONT DONT Thus Dr has a chip on her shoulder and slopy. read more

Sad to say this place is a scam. First time, I went in for a cleaning and had to walk out after being there for 20 mins. Dentists were rude and extremely unprofessional, their rooms are unhygienic and the workers make you uncomfortable. They are not gentle with your mouth, they have no idea what they're doing and try to sell you on everything. They insisted I couldn't get a cleaning (which is what I booked) because they needed photos and x-rays done first. I reluctantly agreed- but the way they boss you around and poke and prod in your mouth while arguing with each other or laughing and talking is completely uncomfortable and unprofessional. All of their machines seem old, banged up and used. Their walls are all scuffed. Dentists smell bad. They do not speak eloquently by any means. Just weird vibes in there. I've had an appointment scheduled with this clinic for 2 weeks now and I get a call today that I have to pay a fee because their new head dentist isn't credentialed under my insurance. As an educator with a tight schedule, I moved things around so that I could make it to this appointment, just for them to call me two days before to inform me of a fee I now have to pay because their formerly credentialed head dentist has been promoted. When I proceeded to ask Marcy for assistance in scheduling at another clinic with a credentialed dentist, she said it was something I was required to do. Ideal Dental as a business is very messy and disorganized. Please stay away from any of their locations. I had my gum graft done by Dr. Kulkarni a couple months ago at the South Lamar location. Dr. Kulkarni was okay as a periodontist and answered my questions as I came up with them. The procedure itself was quite painful and no one communicated to me that I would have a needle with local anesthesia stuck into my mouth about 15 times (and I could feel it every time). After the procedure was over, I went to discuss billing. I was being billed roughly $2200 for my gum graft for my bottom left and top left gums, and that's after insurance covered ~$1700-$1800. The next morning at around 5 am, my mouth started bleeding nonstop. I tried to stop the bleeding with 3 different gauzes in 30 minute intervals, but nothing worked so I decided to call the office. The office was closed, so I figured I would try to last until the office opened up and go there in person. I went to the Ideal Round Rock location in person, and I had to have my partner drive me while I held a plastic bag that pooled my blood. I arrived at the location, and the front desk immediately told me to go to the emergency room. They said they contacted Dr. Kulkarni so that he was aware of what happened, and I ended up going to the ER. By the time I got to the ER, I had lost over a liter of blood and was feeling a bit lightheaded. The ER doctor (who didn't even know what a gum graft was) treated my hemorrhage with a gauze and a coagulating agent after determining the source of the bleeding. He tried to reach Dr. Kulkarni, but could only get in contact with the office manager. She okayed the proposed procedure. After a couple attempts to stop the hemorrhage, the bleeding finally stopped. Eventually I went home and was billed $600-$800 for the ER visit. Dr. Kulkarni finally called me back around noon saying that I shouldn't have gone to the ER, which is ridiculous because the clinic literally told me to go to the ER. Right now, I'm asking for reimbursement of my ER fees and a refund or partial refund of the treatment, but Ideal Dental has not given me any response even though it's been almost 3 weeks since I had brought up the case and they said they would respond in 7-10 business days. Ideal Dental needs to have an on-call dentist in case emergencies like this happen again. They also need to train their staff (including front desk) better so that they're on the same page with communication. The business is incredibly sloppy and I would never recommend going here, because they don't care about your well-being, and they just want your money. TLDR: please go somewhere else if you value your health. read more

Very delayed writing this review, but went to Ideal Dental in 2023 for routine cleaning and they suggested a few procedures on both sides of my mouth. I went ahead with the procedures throughout the year, which included a crown. I am now experiencing severe pain in that area today that I will discuss with my new dentist. For my two routine cleanings, I was there for approximately two hours both times waiting around. The second time I went, I wore a turtleneck because my neck was soaked the first time. I also felt like I was a guinea pig, as a few times I was there a trainee assisted. I moved my family to another establishment, but hopefully it's improved since I've been. read more

I have gone to the same dentist for 25+ years of my life back home in Los Angeles - so much so when I moved to Austin, I'd go back to L.A to go to her. Obviously that couldnt last too long lol. My best friend came here and spoke very highly of this place: their customer service and the most important part - taking care of her teeth! I finally decided to give them a try because i was long overdue for a cleaning and what a wonderful and smooth experience. I HATE THE DENTIST lol who doesnt? but now i have to try a NEW dentist? I was pretty stressed the first half of it but Dr. Ryan was so great, explained everything and what I needed & he was so gentle with my teeth. He truly exceeded my expectation. I had my wisdom teeth removed on June 20th. The surgeon thoroughly explained the procedure and answered all my questions beforehand. The surgery lasted about an hour. On the second day, once the numbing wore off, my pain level was manageable, staying around a 3. I'm impressed with how well the surgery went, despite having all four teeth extracted. I appreciated receiving the dentist's phone number for any post-surgery concerns, along with my prescribed medications and an oral solution to keep my sutures clean. All I wanted was a simple teeth cleaning and I told that to the reception boy many times. They said I'm only allowed to do a deep cleaning and tried to charge me $1,200 for it. It's sad that dentistry has become nothing but another money making chain business in a shopping center / strip mall rather than the private independent practices of yore. My home town dentist was always focused on preventative care and providing treatment only when necessary. Not the experience at Ideal. Constantly pushing for X-rays and other services on every cleaning visit - even though I come in every three months - upselling outrageous periodontal services based numbers that are consistently higher than what my hometown academically acclaimed periodontist has provided on interim visits - After becoming a patient when this location was Brush32 - the vibe was different - the dentist was personable and appeared genuine and the experience has transformed into the new dentist (???) being consumed perhaps by corporate sales goals - good luck on achieving your bonus - I'm out of here... read more

I have been going to this location for about two years. The first few visits were Ok. In last year (since changing names) all visits have been turned into a sales pitch. You can't just get a cleaning without them trying to sell you Invisalign braces or having some other kind of procedure done that you don't really need. Today I had an appointment for a cleaning. I told them that I did not want x-rays since I am moving out of state and will get them at the new office. The dentist refused to do a cleaning without me having a few x-rays even though I just had x-rays the last time I was there. That is all they care about is money and not the person paying for their service. I should have a choice of whether or not I want x-rays when I have a cleaning. I had my first visit today and really liked it! The space is clean and up to date. The staff is friendly and helpful. I came in for a cleaning but after reviewing my x-rays we decided to move forward with a crown I had been putting off. The billing estimate was clear and less than my last dentist charged. They quickly and professionally got it done. I really liked the Bose headphones they offered me. I paired them with my phone and listened to my music while they worked. So far it's all 5 stars! Great experience, especially for someone who gets real tense having my teeth picked at for an hour. The office is very clean and staff were so nice - hygienists and doctor! TVs on the wall in front of every chair to help distract, brand new everything. Ultrasonic teeth cleaning pick that takes about 5 minutes to scrape all your teeth, as opposed to 30 min. Didn't try to sell me anything, just pointed out some spots to pay attention to when flossing. And free whitening every 6 months! Highly recommend read more

Dr. Ferrante, Star, and the Front Administration staff were extremely attentive and went above what you expect at a dentist office. I went in for a clean and had photos and X-rays done which resulted in needing additional work. They went through a printout if the recommended treatments along with cost (with my insurance) so there were not surprises. I was offered music, blanket, and even a phone charger. I was asked many times throughout the procedure "how are you doing?" to ensure it was painless and comfortable. I was only able to make it through 1/2 of the procedure and they gladly offered for me to come back at another time to finish. I'd recommend and plan on returning for the second half! read more

Have visited this office before and everyone was pleasant and professional. I dislike one-star reviews off of one bad experience so won't do that here. I had an appointment for 7:40 this morning. It was for a quick consultation with their specialist who is only there once a month. After 15 minutes I told the reception person I might need to reschedule. The young woman who emerged should really undergo training in how to communicate professionally in a clinical setting. She immediately without introducing herself scolded me like a child in a loud voice for all the waiting room to hear, "You need to give 40 minutes' time for the doctor!" I explained that the dentist on my prior visit had told me it would take 20 minutes. Again, loudly and contemptuously, "20 minutes for the visit and 20 for the financial!" This was a consultation ahead of a proper visit so no financial portion was necessary. Then she seemed to take a delight in informing me that the specialist wouldn't be back for a month. I was prepared to reschedule. This person's tone of outright hostility was unwarranted and bizarre. I don't need to be yelled at. I understand a clinic can get behind. I made no demands or said nothing rude. This staffmember, -- who I hope is not a manager, -- decided to cause a scene. So I told the young man who had quietly been trying to help me to cancel entirely. And when she heard that she said as sweetly and as nastily as possible, "You have a NICE day." That's not necessary. It also sends a poor message to the other patients waiting. Other tips: Your automated scheduler the night before said I did not confirm the visit when I had. The front desk team should not post sensitive info like passwords on sticky notes where patients can see. Again, except for the bizarre behavior this morning everyone here has always been kind, courteous and helpful. read more

Moved to Austin in 2017 and dreaded having to find a new dentist. I procrastinated longer than I should have and ended up with several cavities, two of which were so severe most dentists would have told me my only option was a root canal. Thankfully I went to Dr. Lalezari and she saved me from getting any root canals at all! 6 fillings later- I'm practically good as new and have very little sensitivity on my two deep fillings. Dr. Lalezari is awesome!! Facility is clean, appointments are easy to make (great availability), staff is friendly. Cons: 1. Zero reception in building and no wifi- so if your there for hours getting work done you'll be out of contact. 2. If you have double coverage for dental- they still make you pay the out of pocket based on the first insurance, and then you have to wait 6+ weeks for them to file the claim with the second before you can get the refund. Different from most providers- wish they would invoice the amount and allow you to pay once the insurance claims have been cleared. read more

I came here initially to get an annual check up. Got a two cavities fixed and the dentist at the time (Dr. Ferrante) told me I needed Invisalign. I already had braces as a kid and was kind of skeptical since my teeth are relatively straight, plus I was moving to Denver. Oscar, the manager, assured me it was an easy process to transfer Invisalign. He said all you have to do is find a dentist in Denver and they'll accept it. So I agreed to their treatment plan and they removed my permanent bottom retainer. I paid $1200 upfront and ~$300/month as a payment plan ($4500 total). Things went wrong from there. First, they don't have the most up to date equipment to scan your teeth. It took almost a month to get my trays made because they use old technology with plastic molding trays, which took 3 separate appointment to finally get right. Most orthodontic practices use the iTero 3D scanner, which is quick and makes the most accurate assessment of your teeth (which I found out later). After I moved to Denver, it was nearly impossible to find a dentist who will accept your Invisalign case without a transfer fee, somewhere around $700-$1000. That's on top of the $4500 you already are paying Brush 32. Oh, and Brush 32 won't let you transfer the case until you pay in full. So after a few months they want the full $4500! Multiple dentists explained to me that they have to monitor the progress and they get none of the $4500 that I'm paying. You can't split the cost between providers. But it gets better. A local orthodontist overheard my frustrations on the phone with Brush 32 and offered to help. So I see him. He looks at my treatment plan and totally disagrees with everything. Apparently I have a Type 3 malocclusion that was getting worse with the current treatment plan. He said I need to have rubber bands and Invisalign for 15 more months at least. He quoted me $5500. These dentists only need a weekend course to be "trained" to put on Invisalign and he tells me he deals with a lot of botched cases of Invisalign, so be careful out there. It's currently been 4 months since I've moved from Austin to Denver, and the case still hasn't been transferred! I have called them numerous times to get this fixed, including calling the central location, without any solution in sight. They keep making excuses that they have a locums dentist filling in and they can't get it transferred for technical reasons. Waste of $2000+ I've already spent on this. I also would have saved a $1200 lab fee with my new provider had they transferred the case. Total scam job. Do not go to this place. Avoid at all costs. read more

I came across Brush32 because it accepts our insurance and is close to work. I requested an appointment online and quickly received a response and appointment time. Their office is clean and modern, and the TVs help distract from the usual jitters that come with dental office visits. The staff was very friendly, especially Marsha, who went through costs and coverage in detail. Dr. Lalezari was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely seems to care about her patients. This place is wonderful! I've gotten a deep cleaning and some cavities filled and had a beyond pleasant experience both times! If you're afraid of the dentist (like me) have no fear because Dr. Lalezari and the staff will make you feel right at home. Oscar quickly ran my insurance and gave me a full breakdown of everything. Monica was very accommodating with scheduling as well! Patty is always friendly and upbeat and will make you laugh! They've always got the best things to watch to make the experience a little more pleasant as well. Or, if you're listening to music they'll happily sing along while performing your procedure. I asked a lot of questions before and after the procedure and Dr. Lalezari was super helpful and thorough. They're the perfect balance of professional & fun! However....when working on My Mom, the dentist cracked one of her teeth, didnt say anything and maybe seems Rushed since her Dumb boyfriend get there. Some Pinhead.......My mom found the tooth when we got home, she was not pleased. They also screwed up the bill....and did not give my Mom a good reason/explantion to her cracked tooth or to resolve the matter. We will not go back.......not impressed and put off by those actions. Which is needed since most people don't like going to the dentist! The dental hygienist are very knowledgeable about their field and I feel like they truly care about you and your health. And last but not least, Dr. Lalezari, she's an amazing doctor. I've never had a doctor so patient and caring. Also, she treats you like a human being! All around, such a phenomenal experience. With beyond caring staff that makes you feel comfortable to the clean and organized office, I highly recommend coming to Brush32. Ive been here twice for cleanings. They always see me on time. They are communicative about appointment availability and reminders. The staff is friendly and thorough. They are transparent about what's going on with your mouth without trying to upsell you on expensive treatments you don't actually need. Office is nice and technology is modern. I had an appointment at this location which I arrived on time for. I filled out the necessary forms in about ten minutes. I had to wait for over 35 minutes. An associate started to take me in the back of the office and started to direct me into the x ray room. I told the associate that I am pregnant and I don't feel comfortable having an x-ray. The associate then stepped away to talk with the front desk person in a different language. She then proceded to also talk with the doctor on staff. The associate came back to me and told me that they must have an x-ray done in order to provide service (it is required by law). I told the associate I understand but my doctor has informed me that I should not be doing any additional x-rays. I also told the associate I can have my old dental office transfer all documentation. She asked, what trimester are you in your pregnancy ? ( I did not feel comfortable in telling her what trimester I was in but it seemed as though she would just tell me your are safe). The associate stated again with saying, that we must take x-rays, I told the associate to just cancel my appointment. I do understand that there are laws and regulations for the safety of patients/clients but they way I was treated is just not acceptable. The wait was too long and the customer service was very poor. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER!!!! I went in for an exam & standard cleaning, as provided by my insurance twice a year. The assistant did all of the x-rays & I waited. And waited. Finally the dentist comes in, looks in my mouth for 5 seconds then asked if I was interested in veneers (I'm not) but told her I would get a quote to discuss with my husband. She them proceeds to tell me that I needed a deep cleaning which requires numbness & she would have her office manager come in to discuss what my insurance will pay & what I will need to pay. Well, in the office manager comes alright & proceeds to tell me that I'll need to pay $697 out of pocket. Again, I said I would take a quote & discuss it with my husband. So in comes the dentist again so I asked her "Can I just get the standard cleaning that I scheduled?" SHE REFUSED. Then told me I had bacteria in my blood stream & legally she couldn't "under" treat me. 1) I don't recall doing any bloodwork 2) I've never been refused for services that are PAID FOR. I got outta there pretty quick & called my insurance company to let them know what happened. I don't want them or me to be billed for services not rendered. I rarely go to the dentist (I'm 46 and have been 4 times in my life.) I thought my daughter had a cavity so I made and appointment after reading the great reviews on google. The experience was so great, I went ahead and made an appointment for myself. My experience was so awesome that I've even made an appointment again for December. I already posted a more detailed review on Google, but wanted to leave one here too, because I was surprised to see a couple of 1 star reviews. Basically, the whole staff is nice, friendly and helpful. The office is clean and pleasant. Dr. Ferrante amazing. She explains things in detail, answers all of your questions and gives you options. I didn't feel like the office was pushy in any way or that they tried to upsell you on anything. I plan to go every 6 months now even though I've never really needed much dental attention in the past, just because they do such a good job and in case I live to be 100 and need my teeth that long. read more

Buyer beware!! If they hand you an expensive treatment plan on your first visit, get a second opinion at a more established dentist. I can't stress this enough!!! I ran a dental office and was a dental assistant for several years so I'm very familiar with dentistry. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 3 years and I could feel that there was some tartar build up around my permanent retainer, so I was expecting an FMD (deep cleaning common for folks who haven't been in after long periods of time) and maybe a small cavity. At my appointment, I discovered there was no hygienist, indicating the practice couldn't afford one yet or didn't want to pay one. This is typical of start-up practices, a cheap owner/director, or a lack of volume in business. Basically, it's a sign that the business of just getting started or that they aren't doing well. (This was in February, right before lockdown) The dentist was a young woman, which is fine but she was not intuitive and was clearly new at dentistry. When she found out what I did for a living, she started asking me for professional advice and took up 15 minutes of my time. Sorry, I'm wasn't there to help her, she was getting paid to help me. She then did one pass with a cavitron, didn't touch a curette once, and ignored the 5-6mm pockets on my back teeth. She showed my perfectly fine x-rays and pointed out "shadows" indicating 5 cavities. She then told me to have my permanent retainer removed because it was hard for her to clean. Her assistant flossed me painfully and I could still feel the tartar between my teeth. But the worst thing was the $1500 treatment plan they handed me and the high pressure to book it. I went to another dentist who found only 1 cavity that wasn't deep enough to risk drilling into an otherwise healthy tooth. Everytime you drill into a tooth, you risk infection and compromise damaging structure so it better be worth it! The other dentist addressed my need to have an extra perio cleaning in 3 months due to the tartar build up around my retainer and a couple back teeth, something the drill-hungry newbie didn't care to address. She probably hates doing cleanings, most dentists do. But if you're starting out, honest dentistry and doing a thorough job is more important than racketing up over-zealous and extensive treatment plans on healthy teeth to hit your numbers. So many amateur mistakes happened here and my oral health was NOT the priority for them. They followed up to book my treatment plan right after the state reopened elective medicine and I used the reminder to book a second opinion. If you don't know a lot about dentistry, don't let them scare you with a huge treatment plan, GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! read more

Going to this dentist office was truly a terrible experience. Not only did we wait 40 minutes in the waiting room while they took in a walk in patient, but once inside it was apparent that they were just trying to take advantage of an elderly disabled person that happened to have dental insurance. They did X-rays and then proceeded to press the idea of their treatment plan. (She came in for a check-up and cleaning.) The dentist wanted to begin immediate treatment of pulling two teeth and filling some others with plans of putting in partials. Her previous dentist never mentioned that any of this type of treatment was necessary. She is diabetic and does not have stable blood sugar, but they were insistent that they could go ahead with treatment. She was actually left alone in the dental chair while they went to prepare her dental treatment plan and costs. After one hour and a half, we had to actually insist that they do her teeth cleaning. Then they took about 15 minutes to clean her teeth and again pressed the issue of the treatment plan. After two hours at this office, we are not even sure she got a professional teeth cleaning.
