1 Star for pretty flowers, but they were delivered a day late with no notice, no reply to multiple emails afterwards, and a delivery driver with a *terrible* attitude. Totally ruined the surprise and impact. (and cost $75) You know when you want to surprise someone on a special day? That day happened to be a Sunday and I don't live in the area, so I went looking for a flower shop that would deliver on a Sunday in Fort Lauderdale. Ideal Orchids had good reviews and the perfect plant. The website was fairly easy to use, so you can order directly on there at any time of the day (versus calling). They also do same-day delivery. When I ordered it, I designated for it to be delivered on a specific Sunday (again, it was time-sensitive). I got an immediate email confirmation with the delivery date stated clearly (incl. my additional note to leave the flowers on the front steps if no one answers) and was stoked about the quick response. The day came and went and I never heard from my friend. I finally texted on Monday to ask if he'd gotten a special surprise in the mail and... nope! At this point I emailed the address listed at the bottom of the confirmation as the contact email to ask what was going on. A few hours after that (a day late), the flowers were delivered by an extremely flustered woman. Apparently she had to go back to the truck several times because she hadn't brought the flowers up to the door when she knocked, and then when she brought the flowers, she left the gift note in the car... By that time, she let him know she was having a bad day. Sigh... Ok, I get it, we all have bad days, but you're delivering flowers with a "congrats" note! Maybe don't vent to the recipient? My friend let me know he'd gotten them and how it went down and I went back to my email and saw a confirmation of delivery. Again-- a day late. It even said on the confirmation that the delivery date picked was March 1st, and the delivery was confirmed on March 2nd. No note to let me know what had happened. I emailed again to say I'm really disappointed and that, at the very least, I should be refunded the $15 delivery fee. Crickets. It sucks because the flowers were really pretty, but being able to trust that your order will be delivered when you designated is a big deal. It lost a lot of its meaning because it wasn't a surprise on the day of the accomplishment AND I ruined the surprise by asking the next day. Also, the person who delivered it really made it an unpleasant experience on top of it being late. I would never use this service again. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and then lack of response to two separate emails afterwards is very bad customer service. If you choose them, I'd recommend calling and triple confirming that they will deliver on the day you need. A confirmation email is not sufficient. read more

We ordered flowers for mothers day a d paid by credit card over the phone since we are not local. We were told, a day later, that they will not be delivering for Mothers Day. Why would a florist not deliver on one of the best weeks for sending flowers? We thought, a shop owner can make his own rules. We requested our money back and was told we would get a refund. Now almost a week later, we have not received a refund and the florist does not pick up the phone. You cannot leave a voicemail (mailbox full) I am not sure what is going on with this business but they took our money and we did not get flowers for mothers day. I had gotten a beautiful terrarium for my birthday, and after two months I noticed one of my plants seemed a little off, and I needed advice on caring for it. I emailed Nick about it, and he immediately responded, and told me to feel free to come by and he would take care of it! I was a little late getting to him on time, and he was so sweet and thoughtful that he stayed open and completely restored my terrarium and now it looks even more beautiful! He is very knowledgeable and now I know how to care for my terrarium even better. I truly felt so happy and was so glad both Nick and Tony were so helpful! Every level of Nick's customer service went beyond expectation in his execution of my telephone transaction on Sunday, February 18, 2018. He managed to pull all that off, without showing me any sign of frustration. He was juggling unexpected delays with his floral delivery, and hiccups with his inventory, while simultaneously doing a delicate dance of placating this difficult lady on the phone, who had a sweet drawl in her voice, while she gave him a whole lifetime's dose of sass, and put the fear of God into him. In short, it's fair to assume, I was quite unpleasant to deal with. But this patient, and determined, young man just kept me calm, and ultimately satisfied with my transaction. So...5 And anyone who knows me knows...that coming from this girl....that's a MAJOR ENDORSEMENT! I'm laughing because, if you knew me at all, you'd know that's huge. I don't hand out compliments. I hand out insults, kinda like candy at Halloween. However; compliments are deserved here, and I'm nothing if not fair. Begrudgingly, but still fair. Nick and Ideal Orchids: whatever the occasion - condolences, congratulations, or actually - maybe just to put some happy into someone's life. Put some Happy in your own life. On a side note - I'd be remiss, if I didn't mention this: I am not local to Pompano Beach, Fl, or obviously Ideal Orchids, I'm a Georgia Girl, so I was really concerned, about the status of my delivery, so to put my mind at ease, I received a picture of my arrangement, on their doorstep, from Nick himself. I've included the picture with this post. Nick also upgraded my arrangement a couple of ways without a cost increase. Where on Earth can y'all receive this kind of customer service these days? Disappointed in the service I received today. I purchased a $50 terrarium in march and somehow a couple of the plants died. I did everything they told me to do to care for the plants and they still died. I called today to see what they could do to help me out. The lady Kate I spoke to said to come in and they will see what they can do to take care of me. She said the manager would be back on Tuesday but that I could drop it off today and see what he wanted to do, so I agreed. I went to the store today and upon dropping the plant off , Kate said she would just switch out the plants no problem! I was like awesome! Super excited that she was so friendly. But was I wrong!! When we came back to pick up the terrarium it was beautifully put back together. Then Kate proceeded to tell me how much she was charging me . Although initially she never mentioned anything at all about charging me at all. I already paid $50 bucks!!I was pretty shocked when she told me how much she wanted to charge me for the plants. I asked her why didn't she tell me from the beginning and she was like we don't do free work, rude! I also then asked her why the manager wasn't going to look at it and she said she was the manager all of a sudden . I was just shocked at the whole situation and Kate was pretty rude about it and ripped all of new plants out of my terrarium and proceeded to put the dead ones back in. That's just not how you treat people nor how you run a business. I'm baffled at the whole situation! I love giving my business to small business owners but I will never return there!!
