By that I mean that I use shampoo, conditioner, and dry my hair with my hands and a blower dryer - not a ton of styling. Jennifer seems to somehow know what I want each time, even when I truly don't, and it always looks amazing. She helps me try new styles, and I would honestly trust her with anything she recommends. While I haven't been to the new space, I didn't second guess my answer when she asked if I would consider changing location. My partner will be seeing her soon, too, and she is more than willing to make the experience accessible (aka earplugs, not much convo,, low sensory, etc). You cannot go wrong with Jennifer, and I can't recommend her enough. I saw my previous person for 20 years, and Jennifer has not disappointed! Update: I visited Jennifer's new digs at Salon Molecule and it did not disappoint! Love the plants, super bright sunny space, and location. It's very close to the Montrose brown line and plenty of parking available. My hair feels as good as always thanks to Jennifer!

Eileen Coria's "weed-whacker assault" has mutated into an unmanageable nightmare that is still too short to professionally tie back. The crooked neckline has grown out into a bizarre hair tail that refuses to blend, making my current daily look best described as a cartoon character. I am updating this review because a truly bad haircut takes months--if not a full year--to grow out, and the consequences don't just disappear when the salon issues a refund. *********************************************************** Avoid Eileen Coria. My December 27, 2025, appointment was a disaster. After the salon failed to notify me prior that my regular stylist was away, co-owner Anna recommended Eileen. I asked for a short bob with long layers. Instead, I got severe asymmetry, one-inch layers that flip out wildly, and a completely crooked neckline. The salon refunded my money, but a refund doesn't fix the emotional toll or the months it will take to grow this out. This cut is structurally ruined and will require expensive corrective appointments to fix. Deeply disappointed.

The manager was welcoming, personable and listened to my request, asked good questions, gave even better answers. Sam, who I picked from the website bio's, was on board with pruning my outgrown, thick hair. She improved on the basic cut and made my hair swing. Sam knows HT cut hair, understands proportion and face structure, and applies her knowledge of making art to create a great look for me. The checkout/reschedule was hassle-free and unhurried. It looks like everyone in the shop takes turns at the front desk as needed. A detail like that tells a lot about how a business is run and how employees are treated. In this case, respected and valued. I like that the surcharge to services covers insurance for employees. Proof that this small business knows how to keep good people. People always ask where I get my haircut so I tell them I get my hair done by some hip Filipino down the block. Its all laughs and stories while getting the full experience. She has taken zero accountability or action to resolve this. Even though she fried my hair, she will not refund as she says "a service was provided." Romelia is the most unprofessional person I have ever worked with and should not be allowed to be in business. Romelia disappeared and left me in the chair for over an hour with bleach on my hair while she did laundry/other things. My hair is absolutely fried, I had bleach spots that did not blend, the hair all around my face completely broke off, which will take YEARS to grow back and I was charged for a bayalage, even though she only did a partial highlight. And the worst part is that I reached out to her in an extremely kind manner to resolve this multiple times and she has taken zero accountability for her mistakes. In fact, she read my message I wrote in tears and chose not to respond for 4 days (although she had time to continue posting on instagram) which is extremely unprofessional. I went into the salon with inspiration photos but also seeking Romelia's advice because I told her I wanted to go blonde but my most important goal was to maintain the integrity of my hair. She told me she could do what I asked without a problem or damage. I left with yellow hair, bleach spots throughout and my hair looked like a skunk in a ponytail by how streaky she left it. It was not blended at all and within 2 days, all the hair around my face began breaking off. I messaged her with photos and she asked me to come back in to fix it. I asked her if we could do a root melt to blend my base color into the highlights and tone my hair to fix the brassy blonde. She told me the only two toners in the industry that were available were warm and ash. I know that color is a wide spectrum and that this was not true. I told her I didn't want to be grey and that is exactly how she toned my hair anyways. At the end, I told her I no longer felt blonde and wasn't sure I would get used to it. She told me that she would not charge me and then asked if I wanted a few waves in my hair, I told her yes if she had time and then she proceeded to charge me $50 styling for waves that took her 2 mins and fell out within an hour. A true professional can admit their wrongs and also admit when they don't know how to fix their mistakes (therefore referring you to someone else). I left with grey hair, more bleach spots and my hair falling out into even further chunks. I had to get bangs today by another stylist just to try to hide the damage because my hair is 3 inches long in the front and along the sides now. I have huge holes in my hair (that goes down to my mid back) that I will now need extensions to fill in for the next several years while it grows back. Every stylist in the salon that fixed my hair was shocked at the amount of overprocessing and breakage I had. PLEASE learn from my mistake and do not go here if you value your hair/sanity. These people are crooks and have no idea what they're doing!! Photos posted are of the breakage/bleach spots after the first session and continued breakage after the second. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
