Great whiskey tour & tasting! Just the right amount of samples. We learned a lot and our guide was very knowledgeable & funny. For the price, it was very reasonable and we got a discount off our bottle and little souvenir glasses came with the tour price. They have a nice little bar inside as well if you want cocktails afterward. Definitely take your out of town guests here!

In an industrial section of Denver lies Colorado's first whiskey distillery. Went on a fun, informative tour with Amy, which included 4 tastings. The store and bar area make you feel like you are sitting in a mountain lodge. There is an outdoor area as well. The bar area offers seasonal whiskey drinks with snacks. Highly recommend for the whiskey aficionado visiting Denver!

These guys know how to do classic cocktail like no other. The Sazerac is simply outstanding. Had a Paper Plain that I loved. And of course a great barrel aged old fashion. All great!

Wow! What an amazing Whiskey Tour! Our whiskey guides, Adrianna and Jackson were odf the cuff! A no nonsence tour of how Strananahan's Whiskey was created... lical Denver story and not like big name whiskey... but better! The tour starts in their lounge that is quite cozy... Then we headed to the fermenting and barrelling rooms to learn about the natural sweetness of the various whiskeys. We had the opportunity to try 4 different whiskeys with interesting barreling stories from white oak to sherry to Vermont maple barrels. Be sure to reserve a tour time and eat before your tour as there is no food offered for these 80+ proof tastings. Our tour guides were personable and knowledgable... And added bonus, you get to take the engraved glasses with you! I highly recommend this tour for locals and visitors alike!

This is a traditional whiskey distillery in Denver. They offer a fine 80 proof classic whiskey for those starting to learn about fine whiskeys. From there you can graduate to their standard whiskey and from there roll to maple or apple sherry or rum casket varieties. They offer several more. You should try one of their flights. Very enjoyable spirits I feel any time of year. In cocktails or just an ounce pour to savor. Love the single barrel . Very nice finish. Come in and ask for Devin or Kevin.

An amazing tour by David. Very interesting walk through on how whiskey is distilled. Tasting along the way did not hurt. Very informative stories about how distilling started in Denver. Great gift shop and bar. Music outside while you enjoy your cocktails.

I have taken the tour and had a drink here several times. It's a great place to bring people! The whiskey is outstanding, the tours are informative & energetic, and the place is just super cool. Lots of interesting events and classes. The bar area makes outstanding cocktails and oozes Colorado kitsch. Even the old truck out front isn't just for show, it has a legit history. It's definitely not the little bootstrap operation it started as anymore, but it still has the right...spirit.

We had such a great time at this distillery! The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and the drinks were fantastic. We tried a flight that included their Original, Sherry & Apple Whiskey, and the cocktail Whiskey Inferno. As someone who isn't usually a big whiskey fan, I was a little skeptical -- but the Whiskey Inferno completely won me over. You can barely taste the whiskey, and the drink itself was absolutely wonderful. Ryan & Steve were super knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting background about both the distillery and the whiskeys we tried. You can really tell they're passionate about what they do. Overall, it's a super cool spot to check out whether you're a whiskey lover or just curious. Highly recommend! Editing to add I ending up getting the "oh, snap" cocktail and that was also wonderful

Great Tour and generous tastings! The bar tenders and personable and great. Get the tasting flights of their snowflake releases which is distillery only. I didn't know I'd become a fan of American whiskey vs just Bourbon. Loved our time.

Stopped here today with a group of 10 for some drinks - love their whiskey bar! Service was super friendly and attentive. I ended up getting the lavender whiskey sour (freakin love me some lavender) - it was delicious but a little bit too sweet. Presentation 10/10. Then, I got the seasonal drink "Please send Love" (Stranahan's Blue Peak, Pumpkin Spice Syrup, Copper Door Espresso, House Allspice Dram) - delicious! The cocktails were also super reaps reasonably priced - $12/$13 each. Really cool cocktail bar.

We again went for a tour in September and had an amazing experience. Our guide was fantastic and the samples of course were delicious. I took a bottle of the Brandy Cask home and can't wait to enjoy it!

Got here on a Thursday, about 15 minutes before the lounge opened. Hung out on the couch in the store area, the store employees were super nice. The lounge wound up opening 10 minutes late, and the bartender still wasn't ready. She attributed this to a new cocktail menu that required extra prep. No big deal, but the bartender seemed like she didn't want to be there. No smile, no enthusiasm, no "sorry about that," definitely minimal talking. I would dock 1/2 star, if I could, for the less than engaged bartender. The drinks, however, were outstanding. I had the raspberry hibiscus sour, which was not only pretty, but really good. My husband had the standard old fashioned; it was fairly bourbon forward, but very good. There isn't any food service here, but they do have a couple of packaged snacks you can get (pretzels, trail mix, etc). I do wish they had a kitchen and served some bar food. The prices were reasonable for craft cocktails and locally made bourbon. Didn't do the tour, but definitely would if we had more time. All in all, cool little place, and I would totally go back for the crazy whisky cocktails.

    Are kids allowed here?

We brought a baby and a four year old here. We didn't go on the tour so I don't know about that.

I received a bottle for Christmas, but don't know what kind of whiskey it is. Is it bourbon, scotch or rye whiskey. If none of the above what does it most closely resemble?

This is like discussing politics with many varied points of view. On their VIP tours, (I've done several) they make a specific point of saying it's an "American Whiskey". There are also two additional facts that preclude it from being a bourbon.… Read more

Can I still go on the tour if I don't drink? I understand...it is distillery but I was just curious Thanks in advance!

The restaurant is modern, sleek, open, and well lit. The service is out of this world. Everyone is falling over themselves to help you, though not in a gross way. I had two pastas (you could have either a full pasta dish or a half, and I chose to have two halves). I had the goat cheese gnudi (lamb ragu, fennel pollen, pecorino). Half portion was 14, whole 28. It was rich, meaty, and delish. I also had the mushroom pappardelle (pickled pearl onion, crispy maitake, sheep ricotta, dill). Half 18, full 29. Rich, filling, luxurious. My friend had the duck, which she loved. She can't eat red meat and it was prepared in such a way it almost made her feel like she was eating red meat again. My friend's husband had the scallops as an app (we tasted them too, they were decadent). Then he had the paella, again, a crowd pleaser. We ate every bite of all of it. We had several complex, amazing cocktails. Not the run of the mill. Ingredients that are more unique than the average spot for sure. A lot of gin and absinthe. We had one called Ecto cooler (rum, lychee, kiwi coriander shrub) that we all enjoyed immensely. It's not cheap. For all three of us, with our decadent entrees and multiple alcoholic drinks, as well as dessert and apps, was around 450 with the appropriate tip (I did tip heavy because the service was so spectacular). But I also appreciate this restaurant pays a living wage and charges a small uncharge to allow for this. Amazing experience. And on a pedestrian walkway and near clocktower cabaret, so you can have a great evening.

It took about 45 minutes just to get our order taken, even though the restaurant nor bar were busy. Our orders were read back to us and corrected at the time, yet issues still followed. I said no pickles multiple times, it was acknowledged and confirmed, and my food still came out with pickles. I also ordered parmesan fries and received regular fries. Instead of bringing out some parmesan fries I was offered to use the parmesan powder on the table you shake on pizza or they could bring out a side of parmesan. Another person in our group ordered a side Brussels sprouts with their food, which was a stated option from the server, and received fries instead. After ordering, no one checked on us at all. We were a party of 4, and one person's pizza came out first, and we were told our food would be up shortly, which turned into another 30+ minutes. In total, it took 50 minutes to get food for the remaining 3 (all ordered simple sandwiches/wraps)- I eventually had to walk up to the bar myself to follow up. They offered shots to our table even though it was very clear our group wasn't drinking. They eventually gave us 25% off, which was appreciated, but it didn't really make up for the experience. The frustrating part is that the food itself wasn't bad, but the service completely overshadowed it. Disorganized, inattentive, and disappointing overall. The tables nearby had delays in their service, and incorrect order items as well, so we know this wasn't a unique experience to our party. I would recommend their team work with a great manager to streamline the service and communicate with their team and patrons more effectively.
