[[HIGHLIGHT]]Gorgeous facility.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went on the Top Shelf Tour, and stayed to enjoy the bar as well. I am reviewing both. The Top Shelf tour is $15 per person booked in advance. It is an hour long guided event including several whisky tastings along the way. It is a wonderful narrative plus science explanation. Really nice. Our tour guide was 10/10 engaging. She gave me permission to share her name in my review: Frances. And she to make sure to let Wally know she is far superior hahahaha! Her enjoyment and love of her work made the tour so much better than any tasting experience I have had. Take some cash to tip your guide at the end! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The separate bar is lovely, beautifully crafted and plenty of room for friends to enjoy the full menu of spirits.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!!

Great whiskey tour & tasting! Just the right amount of samples. We learned a lot and our guide was very knowledgeable & funny. For the price, it was very reasonable and we got a discount off our bottle and little souvenir glasses came with the tour price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a nice little bar inside as well if you want cocktails afterward.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely take your out of town guests here!

In an industrial section of Denver lies Colorado's first whiskey distillery. Went on a fun, informative tour with Amy, which included 4 tastings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store and bar area make you feel like you are sitting in a mountain lodge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is an outdoor area as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bar area offers seasonal whiskey drinks with snacks. Highly recommend for the whiskey aficionado visiting Denver!

These guys know how to do classic cocktail like no other. The Sazerac is simply outstanding. Had a Paper Plain that I loved. And of course a great barrel aged old fashion. All great!

Wow! What an amazing Whiskey Tour! Our whiskey guides, Adrianna and Jackson were odf the cuff! A no nonsence tour of how Strananahan's Whiskey was created... lical Denver story and not like big name whiskey... but better! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tour starts in their lounge that is quite cozy...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then we headed to the fermenting and barrelling rooms to learn about the natural sweetness of the various whiskeys. We had the opportunity to try 4 different whiskeys with interesting barreling stories from white oak to sherry to Vermont maple barrels. Be sure to reserve a tour time and eat before your tour as there is no food offered for these 80+ proof tastings. Our tour guides were personable and knowledgable... And added bonus, you get to take the engraved glasses with you! I highly recommend this tour for locals and visitors alike!

This is a traditional whiskey distillery in Denver. They offer a fine 80 proof classic whiskey for those starting to learn about fine whiskeys. From there you can graduate to their standard whiskey and from there roll to maple or apple sherry or rum casket varieties. They offer several more. You should try one of their flights. Very enjoyable spirits I feel any time of year. In cocktails or just an ounce pour to savor. Love the single barrel . Very nice finish. Come in and ask for Devin or Kevin.

An amazing tour by David. Very interesting walk through on how whiskey is distilled. Tasting along the way did not hurt. Very informative stories about how distilling started in Denver. Great gift shop and bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music outside while you enjoy your cocktails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I have taken the tour and had a drink here several times. It's a great place to bring people! The whiskey is outstanding, the tours are informative & energetic, and the place is just super cool. Lots of interesting events and classes. The bar area makes outstanding cocktails and oozes Colorado kitsch. Even the old truck out front isn't just for show, it has a legit history. It's definitely not the little bootstrap operation it started as anymore, but it still has the right...spirit.

We had such a great time at this distillery! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and the drinks were fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried a flight that included their Original, Sherry & Apple Whiskey, and the cocktail Whiskey Inferno. As someone who isn't usually a big whiskey fan, I was a little skeptical -- but the Whiskey Inferno completely won me over. You can barely taste the whiskey, and the drink itself was absolutely wonderful. Ryan & Steve were super knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting background about both the distillery and the whiskeys we tried. You can really tell they're passionate about what they do. Overall, it's a super cool spot to check out whether you're a whiskey lover or just curious. Highly recommend! Editing to add I ending up getting the "oh, snap" cocktail and that was also wonderful

Great Tour and generous tastings! The bar tenders and personable and great. Get the tasting flights of their snowflake releases which is distillery only. I didn't know I'd become a fan of American whiskey vs just Bourbon. Loved our time.

Stopped here today with a group of 10 for some drinks - love their whiskey bar! Service was super friendly and attentive. I ended up getting the lavender whiskey sour (freakin love me some lavender) - it was delicious but a little bit too sweet. Presentation 10/10. Then, I got the seasonal drink "Please send Love" (Stranahan's Blue Peak, Pumpkin Spice Syrup, Copper Door Espresso, House Allspice Dram) - delicious! The cocktails were also super reaps reasonably priced - $12/$13 each. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cool cocktail bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We again went for a tour in September and had an amazing experience. Our guide was fantastic and the samples of course were delicious. I took a bottle of the Brandy Cask home and can't wait to enjoy it!

3.5 glencairn glasses .... I took a friend on the Stranahan whiskey tour. It was a blast. Both funny and informative Michael was a great tour guide. I personally do not care for any of their whiskeys neat but thats a personal thang I highly recommend coming a tad early and hanging out in their cocktail bar... which are FANTASTIC. Play some shuffleboard Great experience

    Are kids allowed here?

We brought a baby and a four year old here. We didn't go on the tour so I don't know about that.

I received a bottle for Christmas, but don't know what kind of whiskey it is. Is it bourbon, scotch or rye whiskey. If none of the above what does it most closely resemble?

This is like discussing politics with many varied points of view. On their VIP tours, (I've done several) they make a specific point of saying it's an "American Whiskey". There are also two additional facts that preclude it from being a bourbon.…

Can I still go on the tour if I don't drink? I understand...it is distillery but I was just curious Thanks in advance!

Maybe locals never go. Honestly, I had low expectations. And yes, you are going to eat bull balls here. That is part of the deal. Fortunately, my low expectations were exceeded considerably. The Rocky Mountain Oysters (the bull balls) basically taste like batter. I would say their consistency and taste are most similar to calamari. A half order is plenty. The horseradish which accompanied the dish was milder than mayonnaise but still tasted nice and it was definitely better than the ketchupy stuff that also came with the plate. The buffalo prime rib was tender and not gamey at all. The (beef) steak was nice. They also offer other game animals like elk and quail. Our server was wonderful. She gave excellent recommendations. You can't discuss this restaurant without mentioning all the stuffed animals everywhere and the zillion animal heads mounted on the walls. It takes a little getting used to. The bar upstairs is very cool and is worth a visit but you want to dine downstairs for the best ambience. The food is good but not amazing. Call me a dumb tourist but this is a unique, fun place.

Very, very cool. We started with Rocky mountain oysters because we were feeling spicy. They were fine - you can fry anything and make it palatable. Overall, food was yummy but holy cow, was it expensive!! Definitely don't come here if on a cheaper budget. I did enjoy the interesting selection of meats and it was all cooked perfectly. The sides weren't mind-blowing (for that price I expect to be wow'd) and if you're a vegetarian, you're options are very limited. I had the cheesecake for dessert and it fell short of the mark, sadly. Large cocktail selection and their old fashioned was well made (again, high price tag). Service was friendly and plenty of staff happy to give a little history lesson. I would perhaps return to bring someone very into meat and history, but outside of that would pass.

As we wandered through Larimer Square, the menu posted outside Rioja caught my eye, and we decided to stop for lunch. I'm so glad we did. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our pup was immediately greeted with a bowl of ice water, and despite the hot afternoon, our own water glasses were never allowed to get empty. Those little touches made us feel genuinely welcome. We started with the Summer Harvest Salad ($14) with Rebel Farms greens, freekeh, crème fraîche, pistachios, and fresh herbs. The kitchen thoughtfully split it into two bowls for us, and it was one of the best salads I've ever had--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. For our entrée, we shared the Dumpling Lasagna ($18), made with duck sausage, mushroom ramen broth, egg roll dough, chili crunch, and green onions. It was unlike any lasagna I've ever tasted, wonderfully creative and absolutely delicious. Although it couldn't be plated separately, they provided extra plates so we could easily share. We couldn't resist dessert and ordered the Flourless Fudge Torte ($14) with milk chocolate ganache, cherry compote, and vanilla crème anglaise. It was every bit as decadent and delicious as it sounds, and the perfect ending to an outstanding meal. Between the exceptional food, attentive service, and welcoming patio, we left feeling pampered, well-fed, and truly appreciated.

It took about 45 minutes just to get our order taken, even though the restaurant nor bar were busy. Our orders were read back to us and corrected at the time, yet issues still followed. I said no pickles multiple times, it was acknowledged and confirmed, and my food still came out with pickles. I also ordered parmesan fries and received regular fries. Instead of bringing out some parmesan fries I was offered to use the parmesan powder on the table you shake on pizza or they could bring out a side of parmesan. Another person in our group ordered a side Brussels sprouts with their food, which was a stated option from the server, and received fries instead. After ordering, no one checked on us at all. We were a party of 4, and one person's pizza came out first, and we were told our food would be up shortly, which turned into another 30+ minutes. In total, it took 50 minutes to get food for the remaining 3 (all ordered simple sandwiches/wraps)- I eventually had to walk up to the bar myself to follow up. They offered shots to our table even though it was very clear our group wasn't drinking. They eventually gave us 25% off, which was appreciated, but it didn't really make up for the experience. The frustrating part is that the food itself wasn't bad, but the service completely overshadowed it. Disorganized, inattentive, and disappointing overall. The tables nearby had delays in their service, and incorrect order items as well, so we know this wasn't a unique experience to our party. I would recommend their team work with a great manager to streamline the service and communicate with their team and patrons more effectively.
