I met a new friend that is a member here, and she invited me as her guest. Sometimes, working all day, it's nice to have a break, and do some exercise. I arrived here fairly early, and I was greeted warmly by the front counter person. He already had my name, welcomed me, and offered me towels. He gave me a short rundown of the amenities, and then set me off to exercise. It was not too busy this morning, everybody was quite friendly. It seems this is not open to the public. It did have a exclusive feel about it. Everything was really clean. And they had a full variety of exercise equipment as well as a nice outdoor pool. I jumped in the pool, even though it's freezing outside, the pool was around 80°. Sun was shining. It was definitely exhilarating to be out in the open, swimming in a heated pool, with all of the snow still surrounding the recreation center. After the swim, I jumped in the hot tub and there were a few people in the hot tub. Good conversation. It was really an enjoyable visit. I would absolutely come back here read more

Facility is mostly clean, and having trees as far as the eye can see outside the fence from the pool is nice. But $24 per adult (with short term rental pass) for a really cold swimming pool (didn't feel 80°, which they advertised) and workout room is a bit steep. The description mentioned basketball, but that's not an indoor court, and a single ping pong table is in the walkway between the bathroom and pool. They allow re-entry during the day and outside food, which is convenient. All in all, wish we never spent the $60 for the family to get in (we stayed for two hours and had no desire to return later that day). read more

Place looks really nice but if you're having a short stay, I'd stay away. Came with a group with my family and friends and as soon as you enter the lady in the front was rude and to be honest rubbed off as racist. She immediately stated the rec center was for members only not even bothering to ask if we had passes (which we did) but overall just felt like our group was profiled because we are a mixed group. read more

Tahoe Donner Rec Center is the best HOA amenity in Truckee - hands down. The up-to-date Rec Center + classes are great. Access is available to all Tahoe Donner HOA members. In addition - the access to the pools and hot tubs is excellent both in winter and in summer. read more

The customer service here is questionable at best. I've had two increasingly rude interactions with who I assume to be the manager here, and as a member it is both incredibly frustrating and does not make me want to support any of TD's amenities in the future. I suggest they figure out how to speak to people in a way that at least doesn't show ALL of their displeasure at their job. read more

Please stay away from this place if you are visiting and/or staying at the condominiums. This place is a rip off, I showed up at 6pm for my kids and I to enjoy some pool time, paid the $20 fee per person! Which is a lot in my opinion especially to swim in a pool. Soon as we got there they had a 10 minute recess so we didn't get to go in at all. Literally just paid $60 to bake in the sun. I spoke to Allie who assured they have the nicest staff and to call in the morning to see if I can get a day pass or a refund, spoke to Garrett the morning after who transferred me to his manager who told me I could not get either. I understand the refund but a free day pass (that technically I paid for but was unable to use) in order to actually enjoy the amenities was extremely unfair! I would stay away from this place and enjoy the things Lake Tahoe has to offer for free. I could have very well baked in the sun at the lake. Highly discourage this place. read more

Trout creek rec center is amazing, especially if you are a property owner. For ~$400/year, you have access to a good amount of amenities free of charge including trout creek for 4 members of your family. You can pay more to cover more members if needed. My son (a toddler) loves their playground and kiddie pool. I love the gym, steam room, and sauna. Staff is super friendly. My only gripe is they cut back hours thanks to Covid and lack of staff but still great! read more

This place had the worst service i have ever experienced in my 89 years of living. These hustlers tried to lure me into their scam by offering to drive me home for 20$ because i was elderly. They also insulted me with a barrage of vile and disgusting comments about my financial status and my clothes. I will never be coming back to these CRIMINALS establishment ever again. read more

For an HOA gym I am very impressed. The gym equipment is updated and in good condition. They've got pretty much everything I need to get my workout on. They've also got a full schedule of classes (though I think these are an extra charge). I haven't yet checked these out but looking forward to it. Perhaps my favorite part is the jacuzzis. They've got 3 of varying temperatures. They also have 2 pools (one open year round and one only open during the summer). I love coming to the jacuzzi to relax after a long day :) Two different locker rooms. One updated, one soon to be updated. Standard but all you need (except a hairdryer, bring your own). It's great to have such a solid workout facility within the Tahoe Donner HOA (note that HOA members must pay an additional once yearly fee to use trout creek). Totally worth it! read more

Trout Creek Rec center is a great place to relax. The recreational pool is huge and there is a family hot tub and then lap pools and hot tubs for adults. Also has steam, suana, massage and gym. Guests pay $8 a day (under 7 is free) and it's well worth the admission. There's poolside food service which is reasonable in price and the food is good! read more

I tried the TCRC twice during a recent stay in Truckee, confining my visit to the weight room + aerobic equipment side of the building. Everything was in place for a successful workout: lots of equipment of various types, towels when you need them, a clean locker room with easy-to-use showers. If you come in with a member, the cost for a day pass is a reasonable $8. I got good reports on the pool and jacuzzi area but decided to stay indoors. There's open WiFi, by the way. I intend to come back repeatedly. This is a very good place. read more

Came here once for their July 4th concert series. The staff was great and very hospitable. It's hard to write a yelp review based on an event but I do know they go out to provide quality. Great sound company for the festival but the vendors were small in numbers and slow to provide food for the large crowd. read more

This place is so nice. Recently underwent a major remodel and the facilities are top notch. I'm not really into golf so the driving range doesn't do much for me but they convert it into a concert venue and mega-slip-and-slide during the summer, which is fun. Heated pools are very nice. Pros: Lots of amenities (big swimming pool, lap pool, 3 jacuzzis, wading pool, steam room, sauna and gym), lots of parking, they allow outside food and drink (no alcohol though) and friendly staff. They provide complimentary towels! They kick the kids out of the pool for 10 minutes for a potty break every hour, but if you're an adult and you don't have any kids with you... You get a kid-free pool for 10 minutes!!!! Cons: crowded and kids everywhere! Also, there also wasn't a lot of shade. Overall, a good experience. Since we stayed in a cabin down the street, we had 2 passes that allowed 4 people in per pass, it was $8 per person. read more

Took my son and niece over to the pool with the $8, per person, to go swimming, only to find out that I would be required to spend $8 to go in and watch. That is an absurd policy. This is an excellent Rec Center! We were visiting friends in Truckee for Labor Day weekend and brought our kids here for the day on Saturday. Pools were great (kiddie pool, lap pool which we did not use, and the "big" pool). Hot tub was also great. As I chased my two-year-old around we got a great tour of the facilities - excellent gym and group fitness class rooms, sauna and locker rooms too. Huge playground for the kids with a basketball court. Pretty much a family paradise. And if you play golf, you are right next to the driving range and golf course, too. Drop off the fam for the day and go play a round. Didn't eat at the grill or restaurant there/nearby but might be worth it if you didn't feel like packing a picnic (which is what everyone was doing from what I saw). As guests we paid eight bucks per adult (kids under 6 free) and I think you get way more than you pay for. Snacks and drinks at the front desk area are way overpriced, of course, but that's how it goes at any "health club" type place. We will definitely come back when we are back in the area! P.S. One thing that I thought was great was that from time to time, lifeguards would clear the pool for the kids to have potty breaks and food breaks. First time I have seen that (maybe I never paid attention in the past) and I think it makes for a super-family-friendly environment (and a cleaner pool!) read more

This snow play area is where the driving range is at the Trout Creek Recreation Center. It has about 4-5 runs that are decently long. We went in the morning when they opened at 9:30, and it was the perfect time-- there were only 2 other families sledding. I think it gets rather crowded in the afternoons, though. The only thing that could be better is if they had tows so you wouldn't have to walk back up to the hill. read more

We come here every time we are in Tahoe Donner. The kids enjoy the pool and child-friendly jacuzzi and I can break a sweat on their elliptical machines , which are state of the art with screens attached. The weight-lifting area could use an upgrade. The weight training machines there are pretty ancient, from the 80's I imagine because they aren't as smooth as some other weight training machines I have tried. But I still love the butt blaster machine as modern guns don't carry this one anymore. Steam room is very steamy. There is also an adult lap pool and a hotter adult jacuzzi in the adult section. The Marco Polo cafe in site serves decent enough food, but nothing is organic, and not sure if the food contains gmo ingredients. You can get a decent sand which, wrap or burger. They have drinks, ice cream and even alcoholic beverages. My husband forgot my swimsuit and I really wanted to swim, luckily I found something that worked in their shop $80 later. Prices are very very inflated here, as is everything in the Truckee/Tahoe Donner area. But we still come back every time. read more

The Trout Creek Recreational Center is one of the best in the area. However, although they have a 400 square foot room perfect for offering child care, they still do not offer this service. If they offered childcare I know of a least 20 other mothers that would be using the facility on a 3-5 times a week basis. This would only increase the amount of people interested in classes, etc. A win for all, so why don't they offer childcare. HUM? Your guess is as good as mine! read more

This is a very nice recreational facility. Lots of owners and guests and a ton of kids. The big pool is great. Beautifully placed with a view of the tree filled hillside. Lots of lounge chairs, seats, umbrella tables. Downside there is one lifeguard on duty (25 plus people in pool) but lots and lots hanging out under the first aid tent. Several people asked questions of the guards under the tent and they did not seem to care to help. They walked in packs in and out socializing. Finally they added another and rotated more frequently. They have a 10 minute restroom break hourly so everyone gets out. They did not allow adults in during the break like others have said. The amenities are many. There are bathrooms both outside near the pool and locker room type inside. The locker rooms are clean. There is a room for classes, a snack bar, a wading pool, a lap pool, an area to buy gear, a workout room with TVs and towels, a hot tub with showers, a basketball/ tennis court, a kiddie park area, picnic tables and even ping pong and a giant game of chess. The whole area is meticulously kept and the workers are nice except the lifeguard staff who are not that friendly even to the adults. The front desk staff was very nice however. This place is a great place to play and relax. Five stars but minus a star for the lifeguards. Next visit I will check this place out again. Definitely check it out if you are a guest or use it if you are an owner. read more
