The workers were very nice and helpful! I was able to get my computer working in just a few days! The time to get the parts were what took most of the day, they put the parts in just a few hours. So far, it seems like it is working well and new but I will update if something is off. It was very affordable compared to the Apple store and other places. So grateful to IDOTECH for saving the contents of my ancient MacBook! The last time I powered it on was at least 3 years ago, AND I forgot the password. They got it going, was able to reset the password, and saved the contents onto an external hard drive. Pushy guy. I dropped off computer for diagnostic after water damage and he called me back later confirming what he said earlier, which was that the computer would be too expensive to fix. Diagnosis is $39 I said I'll be there soon I'm in the middle of buying a new laptop. He says do not buy a new laptop, you need to come to the store right now. I said ok, and he continued talking about how I need to come and give him the password to my files after I've said ok multiple times to which he continued talking about how I need to be at the store. I said I'll be there in 20 mins to which he replied "good" I appear in store, give him the password and he says all the memory is in that laptop (a different one than mine) insinuating I buy it. I'm not in the market to buy one since he literally told me on the phone "do not buy a laptop". Felt like this guy was just being pushy and greedy. He pointed out another (used) laptop in the display case, to which I said no (I had already said no to all the laptops he showed me for being too small or too heavy (to which he said it's not that heavy over a 4.6lbs one. My original laptop is 3.3lbs) If you want to be pressured into buying a moderately used laptop for more money than a new one from best buy (on sale) and be more stressed out than you already are, definitely come here. Wow, these guys are lifesavers. My laptop hinges were broken and the frame was separating from the screen when you opened it. I gave them a call and they said they could fix it a few ways but they had to see it. Drove down and said the screws were probably the fastest way to go. The manager Michael responded to my review saying transparency is very important but continues to lie. He said he identified a fault CPU after i had provided a new one. So no, he didnt really identified it. It was the last part. The only thing left it could of been. After providing ram and motherboard and GPU. The whole point was so I did not have to do this but it is what it is. First off, no you did not get my approval before proceeding with the work beyond diagnostic, you called me and told me the price would be 200$ which was my first time hearing this. You said it was before you installed windows, I never asked or approved of this. Then you said somewhere along the lines of, that's fine we can remove it and undo the work we did but we can guarantee it will work. As a first time customer, that is not something you want to hear. At this point I don't want them messing with my pc cause they can intentionally mess it up. Not saying they would do such a thing but its a thought that crossed my mind. So we agreed to 150$. This is not asking for approval before doing the work like you said. "Transparency is very important" If you did not try to be sneaky and upcharge me this review would be a bit different. In private messages after the review I posted, Michael stated and I quote "sometimes we have done the work already because of the nature of the job" "If the customer does not agreed on price we always have the way to undo the work" If you had my approval why wouldn't I agree on price and why would you have to undo the work? This implies he knew he had to this but yet said nothing about it during the quote he gave me on the first day. If this was part of the "diagnose" why would you not include that in the price but rather surprise me at the end. read more

PC stopped booting one day. Got a diagnostic from Idotech, then attempted to rebuild it myself. After that minor disaster, Idotech was happy to credit the diagnostic to a rebuild. Once they're installed the new pieces and sorted out the wiring nightmare from my own attempt at reconstruction, I brought my PC home and was still having issues. They were happy to look at it again the next day free of charge, and did minimal eye-rolling when they pushed my self-installed RAM stick in the rest of the way and booted my PC up in front of me. I hope not to need their services again for some time, but if I run into hardware issues again, I know who I'll be contacting first. read more

4.9.2018 I took my lap top there to have the password reset, they did some other things (reloaded Windows 7 Pro) and charged me $80 . It was done on time and they explained what they'd done pretty clearly, I will be back to have them fix my other lap top that's messed up with 'incredibar' ~ a worthless search engine that sends you to sites you have zero interest in and cannot be easily removed . One tiny fly in my otherwise happy ointment : they didn't bother to check to see if the Ethernet connection works and it didn't so I had to schlepp on back, he fixed it while I waited . Five stars is only reserved for those who go above and beyond and this is exactly what they did here at iDOTEC. I first brought in my laptop a few months ago because I had dropped it and the hard drive was pretty much gone. So I came here and for a reasonable price they gave me a new one and my laptop was working normally again, however 2 months down the road the hard drive was messed up again but I didn't drop it or spill anything on my laptop. So I brought it in again and they solved the issue no problem and got me a new hard drive. They were very friendly and nice in keeping my updated with my laptop. I dropped off my MacBook and an external hard drive on Saturday and by Tuesday got a text saying it was all done. I didn't have much data so my total was only $50. They fixed my MacBook air for the most affordable price possible, I really appreciated all of their hard work and patience. My MacBook had an issue with the motherboard, which is a pretty expensive issue to fix. Normally a fix like that would cost around 350 dollars but they were willing to bring the price down to 250 dollars because of financial conflicts I was going through.
