Well, after a span of over a decade, I figure it probably is time for me to update my review of this IFA. As the weather is warming, I have been making my rounds to several stores in search of the things I need for spring gardening. This week, it was a trip to IFA to grab some fertilizer for lawn. I don't do a lot of fertilizing here, but since my former lawn care days, I help out a lot of other folks and if you're into fertilizing (which, you know, has its pros and cons) then IFA's 4-step system is a pretty slick way to get enviable grass. This store is one of the smaller ones in the area but for sure they've moved things around and made more space as it's an entirely different setup than it used to be in that original review. I thought ten years ago that they may struggle to make a go in Draper as more and more rural, agricultural land becomes housing, but they're still there kicking making the most of their square footage. It's a very compressed garden area (but lots of the bulk materials are stored out front) with just a few small aisles dedicated to the thing you love them for: tack and saddle goods, beekeeping supplies, birdfeeders and seed, kitchen materials, and many more. They don't have a huge clothing section, but there's still plenty of warm and durable work clothes there if that's what you're after. I'm very pleased to report that the chicks are in for 2021. They're adorable. But I caution you that unless you really mean it (and are buying the heat lamp, and feeder, and have a coop plan) just pass on them because having chickens is a big deal, and not an impulse buy. But yes, DO go and look at them. If given my choice, I'd probably go to the IFA in American Fork once a week, but this mini version in Draper is also a nice substitute when you need some seeds, or weed killer, or that fertilizer. I have been here many times to get items for my yard such as tools, plants for the garden, and products for controlling weeds and animal pests such as voles. They have a great selection and the employees are always kind and knowledgeable. If you buy lawn fertilizer or other bulky products they will load it right into your car. Prices are competitive with and often better than what you see at the big box stores. I seriously love shopping at IFA. The store has a kind of "old timey" feel that makes it fun.​ read more

I got chicks early this year from a different IFA location and they seemed like they knew nothing about chickens. This IFA though, they were super helpful. If they didn't know the answer, a coworker did. They were so helpful! There are a couple ladies who work there that I always turn to for questions about chickens because they are so knowledgeable and helpful. Vicki and I believe the other woman's name is Barbara. I wish I knew for sure. Short curly hair. I also bought plant starts there this year. Excellent price and they are growing beautifully! My kids love the toy aisle and I am so grateful that it's always organized and clean. read more

I've been to IFA previously, but it's been a while, and last weekend was the first time I'd visited this particular location. It is older and dingier than the next closest (Riverton) store, and really tiny. I've never been in one that was so small. They definitely concentrate more on what I imagine IFA started out carrying: feed, horse tack, some canning supplies, a pretty good size selection of dog supplies, fertilizer and soil amendments along with other garden goods, etc. There was a small selection of outdoor plants (marked down, although most pretty sad looking) and trees (also on sale, but in much better condition). I went with my husband and was telling him how they usually have chicks during the Spring, and then we turned the corner and THERE WERE BABY CHICKS! I guess they have them all the time. I think there were three different varieties in stock, but they had a poster for probably 25 varieties, so I'm guessing they can order others for you. They also had spots for ducks and geese. Lastly, there were maybe 6 adorable fluffy bunnies. I'll be perfectly honest: The interior is not very impressive, and when I first walked in I wasn't very interested in doing much shopping, but the more I wandered around the more interesting things I found. We ended up with some pet supplies, canning supplies, a few plants, and ladybugs and lacewings. Oh, and hubby grabbed ice cream at the register, so a pretty successful trip all around! I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and they were quite busy. We probably waited ten minutes to check out. The employees working at the cash registers were both friendly. Prices are very reasonable (read: ridiculously cheap) on most items. I don't see myself having a need to visit IFA very often, and if I did I would probably lean toward the Riverton location due to selection alone, but there was some old-fashioned charm to this store, and I certainly would have no problem returning here. read more

I came to this store with my husband yesterday to find a rabbit for my granddaughter's birthday. We entered the store excited but sadly left uncomfortable. Everyone was kind towards us besides Monique at cashier. For some odd reason she spoke towards us with rude manner. I don't know why she did maybe cause we were Hispanics. Oddly enough She did show respect towards others who were non color. I am very disappointed on how she treated us. read more

This is my local feed store. We come quite regularly for chicken feed, and lawn fertilizer. I have bout all kinds of things from this place! Chickens, bees, plants, boots, horse stall mates, bbq pelts, coats. I could go on and on. This location is way nicer than the old one next store. The employees are always ready to help you load your truck. Oh they also do inexpensive pet vaccinations from time to time. I'm here regularly, so if you shop here you may bump into me. read more

Post remodel/this store has gone from mediocre to fantastic. A huge selection of items, and more cashiers means faster service.

I purchased some rat and mouse food from these guys and the bags were infected with grain mites. When I called to see if I could return the bags, I was told by the manager that it should be no problem. The day that I brought the bags in to return them, I was met with associates that were rude and gave me problems with trying to return the bags. Grain mites are very invasive and they can seriously harm your pets. These associates did not seem to care that the bags had mites and even the ones on the shelves had them as well. Do not buy Sunburst rat, mouse and hamster food from them, unless you want to deal with grain mites in your cages and room. read more

Very limited supply of gardening supplies. Very little organic options. Did not have coconut husk bricks. They rang me up for the wrong potting soil, and it was a 10 minute ordeal to get it switched. They print a piece of paper every single time someone buys any potting soil, mulch, Pete moss, compost, or anything from there loading.doc. Seems like a complete waste of paper and trees. They seriously can't trust you to just take what you paid for like other gardening stores?! read more

Just starting out my garden and they had just the supplies and advice for me. So helpful. They also loaded up all the big stuff for me.

The customer service is great, and has a wide variety of great products. Me personally, shopping for my bunny was very impressed with the bulk products they had for all my needs. Employees seemed to know what they were talking about as far as rabbit care, but not entirely sure they were always right. But the food my bunny eats and the other supplies he uses from that store are high quality, long lasting, and good priced. read more

I have frequent the store for the last 35 years, I know it's getting busier but they haven't kept up with the times. It's frustrating every time I go they don't have an organize queue for check out. You wait in line a long time while a customers getting answers, that a new customer comes and gets in around the different counter in the hell doesn't check to see who's in line 1st. This is very frustrating for patient customers waiting their turn. I would suggest that they redesigned The way they check people out. This is happened in the last five times I've been there, maybe I'll just find a new store. read more

DO NOT buy baby chicks from IFA. We thought we were buying a couple hens, but ended up with a rooster. After doing some research, we found out this happens frequently to people who buy from IFA. Obviously, they don't guarantee you are purchasing hens. They told us to post the roosters on KSL. This is heartbreaking since we raised the chicks from babies, spent lots of money at IFA to get them set up, and have become attached to them. Do yourself a favor and purchase your chicks from local farmers when they're a few months old. They're friendly and adjust easily to your environment. We learned from experience. read more

Such a great strore to help you with so many different home projects. They really have the best prices for stuff for you garden and yard. Not to mention everyone is so nice and friendly they know what they are talking about and can help you buy the right product you need. Really love this store. read more
