Tony and his brother are great at what they do and they keep their word and they fix things right the first time. I have had them help me with my Dell laptop a couple of times and I bought a used unit from them to use as a backup and Tony was a champ every step of the way. I am older and they treated me with respect and answered all my questions no matter how silly. If there were more people like these 2 in the World it would be a better place. Prices are good but it is the intangibles they both possess that sets this place apart. Tony helped me in so many ways and every other sentence out of my mouth was Thank You for helping me. This last visit to see them I was under enormous work pressure and Tony handled both my laptop breakdown and my freaking out over my work load and I could not be happier or more thankful. Truly good guys and a good place in fact I am buying a new laptop in a week or 2 and am taking straight to Tony to have him set up the whole thing for me and transfer all my data. After having a TERRIBLE experience with another computer repair company in Davis, my experience with iFix Electronics was a great delight. My computer needed to be "overhauled" -had many problems. In less than seven hours it was fixed and working better than ever and for a very reasonable price. I had some problems reinstalling some of my old programs so I took the computer back the next day. It was the many good reviews people have written about this IFix that brought me to a headache of having my computer recently repaired by these guys. Feeling so good about iFix, I contacted them immediately when my laptop got problem. They are nice people, I agree. Their service charge is way.. way.. up high, I also much agree. They are skillful at tech, yet, I don't think so. Just two days after their 'fixing', and with a couple of hundred dollars from my pocket, my laptop was down again. Bringing back them the laptop just to receive then another 'fixing' suggestion with another ...'reasonable charge '... What a headache! Loosing time and loosing also money... for nothing. I dropped my phone in the toilet a few months ago. It went completely black, so I put it in a bowl of rice for the day and went to run errands. When I came back, it still had no sign of life, so I brought it to iFix. They were able to revive my iphone within 3 days! I love that they have a policy of only making you pay for the repair if it works. 3 weeks later I noticed my phone had a minor glitch that seemed to be related to the water damage, so I brought it back to iFix. They were able to partially fix the glitch for free, but since they couldn't fix the problem completely they gave me a partial refund from the price I paid originally, even though it had been several weeks! Overall, I was very impressed with their professionalism and honesty, and I'm thrilled I didn't have to buy a new phone! read more

I took my dead Dell tower to iFIX and they replaced the power supply unit. When I booted it up at home, there was a strong burning smell so I took it back in. They said there was nothing wrong (I could still smell the burning). One week later the new power unit cooling fan motor started making a noise (burning smell?). iFIX replaced the defective power unit under their three month warranty. Four months later this replacement power unit cooling fan started making noise. iFIX refused to replace this faulty unit because it failed one month after their warranty period. I reminded them they had installed two faulty power units in a four month period. They still said it was out of warranty. Bad replacement parts and bad customer service, find another business to fix your computer. read more

I have taken my computer issues to these fellows four times, once for a Mac and three times for two of our PCs. Each time they fixed the problem quickly and without great cost. They always gave me a solid estimate and discussed possible things that could cause the problem. A couple of times when I brought in the problem, one caused by my having dropped the 17" laptop, they looked at the laptop right there at the counter, ran a test or two, made some adjustments, and did not even charge me because they said it only took a couple of minutes. They also advised me about a few things to ensure future problems would not occur. Wow! That's small town service. The computers stayed working well afterwards. read more

These guys are amazing! My computer started freaking out one day, and I called them and they asked me to just bring in the tower. I brought the tower in, gave them a little time and they were able to find out that the hard drive had crashed. I had not backed up my computer, however they were able to get the important documents from the desktop so it was not a total loss. They installed the new hard drive, new windows, and even some of the programs that I had been using! I had my computer back the VERY NEXT DAY!!! I stopped by with a pair of headphones that needed a speaker reattached. I used to do simple work like this with my uncle when I was a kid, but lacking the tools now I went to iFix Electronics. I was told that the headphones could not be repaired. However, I walked two blocks to another repair shop, was ensured that the repair was indeed simple, and a couple of hours later (and at a reasonable price) I walked away with headphones that worked perfectly again. I will take my business to the other repair shop in the future. read more

My laptop was running slow so I dropped it off for a diagnosis. (Fortunately, I saved most of my stuff on a memory stick before going there. Otherwise, I would have been 100 times more angry.) Four days later, the guy told me that it is just overheated (which I had been aware of for a long time). Then, he said my laptop does not have Windows, and it costs $90 to reinstall it. I was shocked. Of course I wouldn't give $90 to these unprofessional people!!!!!! My laptop became a piece of junk and I had to buy a new one. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

I have come here twice and both with great results! First with a broken hinge, turned out to be a missing screw that they fixed in 2 minutes for no charge. Second was because my battery was not charging, and because the plastic casing/lid around my screen cracked and was literally falling apart. It cost me $105 total to fix both of those issues, and I got my computer back in less than 24 hours. Very friendly service! Also, Geek Squad told me I would have to send it in and it would take 3-4 weeks just to fix the cracked lid, for minimum $85. In comparison, iFix is a MUCH greater deal and way more convenient. I came here after I spilled water on my laptop. It still turned on, but it wouldn't charge. After I explained what happened, they opened up my Macbook and scanned it for about a minute. Then they told me they need to clean up the corrosion in the parts. This cost me $250. When I got it back about a week later, they claimed everything was fixed, but my laptop still wouldn't charge. I went back to ask why its still not charging and the technician simply said, "I don't know." Strange thing was, my laptop wouldn't charge with my own charger, but it would charge with another one. They offered to trade my laptop charger with one of theirs, but they said it's not a legitimate Apple product. Since I had no other choice and wasn't willing to purchase a brand new macbook charger, I agreed to exchange. Less than a week later, the cheap, bootleg, Chinese charger broke... Now I am chargerless and I can't ask for my old one back either. I do not recommend this place at all, especially if you need parts replaced. read more

THE BEST COMPUTER REPAIR STORE!!!! Their service is amazing!They are very honest and affordable, which is ideal for a student like me! The first time I went there last year, I thought there was something wrong with my computer because I thought I spilled water on it. The water had spilled on the bottom, no where near the keyboard. Long story short, Tony mentioned to me that its not worth it to spend $100+ to fix it for water damage when I wasn't sure, and recommended I wait it out before I come back in to get the keyboard replaced. I came back in a few months later when it wasn't working and realized i had a problem with my charger, and only spent $30 to fix it, much better than if I had spend the $100+. Such honestly and integrity in business is rare to find these days, and I wholeheartedly trust all of the staff at Ifixit electronics. I HIGHLY reccomend this place to anyone! They tried to pull a fast one on me. I needed to get my fan replaced. They said they "replaced it" for $130. I brought my computer home but was still have the same exact problems. I complained to iFix that the same problems were still occurring. They said that they changed the fan. They said to bring it back because there might be a bigger problem. I got a call from them saying that the motherboard was bad. However, there were no signs that my motherboard was bad. My fan just wouldn't start. I got upset and told them to change the "replaced" fan again. But this time I marked it. After exchanged words, they changed the fan they never changed in the first place. Now my computer works perfectly fine. Thankfully, I know how to take my computer apart and have a very basic understanding of comp hardware. Otherwise, I would have been out $330 plus for a $25 part. I am never going back to them no matter how cheap they are. Very unprofessional business and location! read more

Ifix Electronics is by far the most cunning and malicious business in Davis. Their tactics are quite simple: Milking you for more money a little bit at the time so you do not feel the agony of coughing up a large sum of money once you go back and pick up your laptop. All customers, such as myself, must and should know how they operate their business by defrauding you of your hard earned money. First! they do not provide you with a written estimate detailing the cost for the parts and labor to be done on your laptop. I must emphasize that such requirement is the law under the Bureau of Electronics which is the governing body under the Department of Consumer Affairs. The reason they do not follow the law is simply because initially they do not want to have a paper trail and therefore can always doctor an invoice if they know the customer is going to file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs which I had to do in order to get my $280 back for a misdiagnosis on my MacBook Pro. Even after I filed a complaint with the Bureau they did not care and showed a total disregard of the law, consumer satisfaction, and much less of the law. So beware of what you pay initially and please ask for a detail invoice especially for them to detail out what they did on your laptop. You will notice that they are very vague in explaining the how and the why in their invoice. If you must please go to the Apple Store who guarantees their work or there is no charge for the repairs. Do not go here!!!!! My screen went out the other day on my Iphone 5. I went to get my screen replaced, which cost me $90. When I got my phone they told me that my home button wasn't working. It was working fine before. When I went home I plugged in my headphones and there was no sound. Note before I replaced my screen there was nothing wrong with hearing music on my headphones. Today I went back and told them the issue. The guy said there was water damage. This was never told to be when they fixed my phone. I told them it is there responsibility to fix it since they messed it up. I asked for the guy in charge, who happened to be the guy I spoke to the whole time. He was very unprofessional and rude in helping me with this issue. He was very arrogant and unwilling to help at all. If you can help it I would not go to this store. They are all about profits and don't care about there customers at all. If you for ever reason have to go to this store checking to make sure everything works before you leave. What the point of getting your phone repaired if you end up with more issues then when you first went there. I well never go back and would give a ZERO rating if I could!!!! read more

worst service possible. repaired my phone and it broke in the same exact way 27 days later. they refused to live up to 1 month warranty with a bunch of bullshit excuses. said they "forgot" how they fixed it last time so they couldn't do it for free again, even though my receipt was in the computer system. My phone is barely over a year old and now completely broken. read more
