Floyd was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator. It can be really daunting as a same sex couple to find vendors who will make you feel comfortable. Floyd was wonderful to work with. He was very professional while being laid back, which really matched our energy that day (surprisingly!). He did a great job working with my wife. We are not exactly people that enjoy being in the limelight but he made us feel special and at ease as he was telling us when to hold hands, when to move, when to kiss, etc. The photos didn't take too long to receive after our event. He was very patient with us as we picked through our favorites. The final edits were gorgeous! We are so in love and very happy with the results from our wedding day. Some other things to note. Floyd is just simply awesome. On the day of the wedding, Floyd showed up early and confirmed what we had discussed regarding style and timeline. My husband and I are seriously the most awkward when it comes to photo shoots, and I feared our photos would look forced. Leave it to Floyd to figure out a way for us to look like "us." I found Floyd early in the wedding planning through Instagram! I had met with a few photographers before but I wasn't really sold on any of them. Not that they weren't good, but either their "vibe/energy level" didn't match ours, or their photography style was too "intense" and "serious" (you know those photoshoots where it looks like the couple is about to face the apocalypse together?), or their prices were way out of our budget. Floyd is such a talented and experienced photographer and highly recommend him if you're looking someone to capture that love in the air! Initially, I was not even going to have a photographer at my wedding ceremony because everyone was booked. This review is long overdue but here nonetheless. I found Floyd on Yelp (of course) as well as 2 other photographers. After viewing their online portfolios, Floyd's work stood out the most as classy and modern with the magazine style photos which is what I was looking for. I immediately e-mailed him and got a response within the next day. I was ecstatic that I was able to book my first choice and just as ecstatic that he was prompt with his responses. We got married at the Royal Hawaiian and Floyd knew that place like the back of his hand. He chose amazing spots for us indoors considering it rained the day of our wedding and the pictures turned out gorgeous despite the gloomy backdrop we were handed that day. He captured amazing moments that make you go "ooooh" and "awwww" and seeing the photos helped me relive the night that seemed to go faster than I would've imagined. Doing wedding vendor research from 2,000 miles away was a difficult task. So before I made any "serious" inquires, the companies I would consider had to meet the following criteria: 1) have a well developed website showcasing recent works 2) have good/great reviews on various sites and 3) answer my inquires in a timely manner (email worked best for me since I work 8-5 Monday - Friday so, all of my communication had to be done in the evening via email).
