Dan greeted me before I even entered the shop, and I was surprised to see he was the only one working. All of the phone repair shops I've been to have had at least two workers, but this many certainly wasn't necessary today at iGeek. Dan was efficient, friendly, and professional from start to finish. He quickly looked at my iPhone 5s and told me to return in an hour because he had other phone repairs ahead in the queue. The price to repair the entire screen was reasonable, and I would go back to iGeek on State Street. I also like the Square digital receipts provided. I was impressed, he said it would only take 10 min to repair my broken iPhone screen, but he did the whole transaction in under 10 min. My phone was completely screwed up after a crazy weekend and at first took it into the Apple Store to get a new screen. Long story short, apple was just being apple and they told me they couldn't replace my screen due to some liability issues they didn't want to get tangled with. Phone stopped charging over the weekend. I dropped by the apple store and was told the charger port (and possibly more hardware) had short circuited. They offered me $300 to replace the phone. I dropped my iPhone and naturally it landed on the screen side that wasn't protected. So I went to iGeeks and was greeted by Dan who was very forthcoming and said it would be done in 20 minutes. Dan is great. Our daughter had a water bottle leak in her backpack, which wet her 6S. The phone died in stages...very sad to watch! She panicked, I panicked, and after we tried to dry it in a jar of rice...we ended up buying a new 6S. Some months later, I began calling around trying to find a local repair service to bring the phone back from the dead. Many shops told me they do not fix "water damage." Then I found Dan's iGeeks; he said it would not be a problem. iGeeks has a shop in Santa Barbara, but he also offers pick-up service and you can drop your phone off at a secondary business location in Buellton, which is what I did. He fixed it in about a half hour, while we were having dinner at Mother Hubbard's. The phone needed a new screen and that was it. Quick, reliable, and honest! I'm not sure how I got so lucky finding this place on my first try. Dan was great at helping me recover 3 years of photos that I otherwise would have lost forever. I was able to drop my phone off before my work shift and by the time I came back, everything had been taken care of. I must also add that Dan gave me some great advice on how to always make sure my photos are backed up and some other phone tips. Disclaimer: this review has been updated to reflect my most recent experience at iGeeks. My original experience was not the greatest but I returned today (8/1/2020) to have Dan take a look at my iPhone 6S Plus since the screen started to become unresponsive to the touch. I showed him how the left side of the screen was lifted up. He immediately took the phone apart and noticed that the battery was showing signs of "bulging" and was pushing up the screen. Dan told me he could replace it for $60 but given the less than stellar experience I had previously had he was willing to do it for $40. Needless to say, he was quick and efficient and now my phone has a good battery and a responsive screen. I am satisfied and gladly give them a 5 star review. Like Dan and I talked about earlier, communication is key in a business owner versus customer relationship. I would gladly recommend iGeeks to others. This guy Alec, is the only person (maybe anywhere) that knows several ways to fix anything wrong with your phone and will figure out exactly what's wrong and not try to charge you for anything extra or rip you off.
