(All the "positive" reviews are planted by the owner and his buddy.) Yet, like an idiot, I thought, "well, they're nearby..." so I gave them a try. They are: 1. Incompetent: they know almost nothing about phone repair. 2. Dishonest 3. Personally abusive I more or less self-diagnosed the phone problem before I came in. Likely a mother board. I arrived on a Friday. The place was a shambles; they were tearing up the flooring themselves, and everything on the counters were in total disarray. No signs of any actual repair work ever being done there. "Leave it with us, give me $25, and we'll call you first thing Monday morning to tell you what's wrong. We guarantee we'll fix it for $99. If we can't, we'll give you your $25 back." Nobody called Monday. Or Tuesday. Or Wednesday. So I called Monday evening. "Um...what phone again? oh yeah, um, we, like tried to turn it on every day..." Vamping to gain time. "Um, we'll totally check it out today and call you tomorrow." Three weeks later nobody had called and I was forced to just buy another phone, so my girlfriend stopped by to pick it up and get the $25 back. They actually mocked her, because although she had the receipt and all the paperwork, she didn't remember the color of the back the phone. (It's not her phone and it was always covered by a case cover, but they are sexist a-holes.) Worse, they refused to give her my money back, and gave no reason, other than they want the money! One of the worst businesses I've ever encountered in New York or anywhere. Believe the real, negative reviews and not the phony "they did a great job" planted reviews. I can almost guaranty the guy will respond with an aggressive rebuttal on Yelp and a threat to sue me, as he has done with all the other TSS customers. Wait and see. If you value your phone, or your money, or your self-respect, DO NOT EVER WALK IN THE DOOR AT TSS.

The visit went smoothly despite the COVID-19 restrictions. Appointment was made from their website. Check-in to the building was safe with ID needed. Andrei greeted me warmly at the shop doorway. Hand sanitizer was readily available. Andrei looked at my phone and right away knew it was a screen issue (vs other components). I didn't want to spend a lot of $ since it was my backup phone but Andrei stated the work was routine which provided me comfort that a simple screen replacement would do. 10-15 minutes later the work was done and thus far phone is working great. We tested out the touch screen (both soft and hard touch), it was still working 98%. It was a little slow. My watch was in his shop for 2 weeks. Arsen called me 1/4/19 to tell me there was a delay in the shipping. He called 1/8/19 to tell me they tried to replaced the screen twice and the motherboard would freeze. Going back to when I dropped it off. It was slow NOT freezing. He says to get the motherboard fix it would basically cost the price of getting a new watch. I said that's not an option. He says he will charge me $45 for the labor. I said, ok can I pick it up today(1/8/19). He said well we're still working on it. I'm thinking to myself Idk, anything about a motherboard. So what exactly are you working on? I brought my watch in 12/28/18. I get it, the holidays were around so a small delay in pick up. I called today (1/13/19)to pick up the watch. My watch is completely dead, lucky I have my charger to see exactly what's going on, but I'm already irritated because its taking a while to turn on. I pay Arsen $45 he hands me my watch and the screen is literally falling out. I said, "when I came in my screen was not falling out like that". You have to melt the adhesive and pry open the edges for it to lift. Please fix it how it was when i came in. He said, it was like that remember? No I dont sir I dont, and you know that. He said I will put some reinforcement on it to hold it in place. I said, please. Ok. I'm very soft spoken and respectful. So I appreciate the professionalism in handling my device to be handled with care. I said my watch broke last year. Yes, 2018.. a few months ago and it was very functional. I know the screen was cracked, but the handling of my device was just poor and distasteful. I didn't need two weeks for you to tell me it wasn't possible to fix. It looked the same when I gave it to you. You fix apples watches. I know you came across a cracked screen before. You could have easily said, this can not be fixed without changing the motherboard. It was such a waste of my time and I shelled out $45 just for you to basically insinuate that you "tried to fix it". Service not rendered. Make sure you know how your device functions before and after in any repair shop. Also, make sure they clarify what they CAN & CANNOT do, before you waste your time. Its like deep down he knew it couldn't have been fixed. I'm so sad. The screen won't stay in place. I legit want to cry. He knows and I know that it was NOT like that. So i cant use it‍. Side bar: At first he tried to charge me $150, but "forgot" he quoted me $100 over the phone. Then he said, oh.. ok. I remember. In general, I like to confirm quotes to make sure it's consistent when I arrive in person.
