I have been here for probably 9 times within these two years(just from my clumsiness)...these guys are amazing!!! The first time I dropped my iphone 8 and got it fixed I did have some issues with video recording where I had to hold something on the screen (example Instagram and snapchat videos) BUT when I addressed this problem to them, the team was ready to handle the issue. I really enjoy that they put the customer first and ensure their service is top quality. Came here to get my iPhone XR screen fixed + LCD. Back story - I did not use a phone case for over a year and then one day, as fate would have it, I cracked my phone. After many months, I decided to get my phone fixed. I sent out quotes to many local repair shops in Manhattan and compared their prices to Apple's as well. Andy from iPhone Screen Repair Expert NYC responded extremely quickly with a lot of information and gave me a fair quote. I traversed to the site near Grand Central Terminal (the entrance is next to Chick Fil A; you enter the double doors and go to the 3rd floor!). There was no wait (since this was during COVID). Pros: + QUICK / Professional service (in and out within 10 minutes basically, but prepare for 20 in case) + Nice technician - told me that Apple had taken out a part and forgot to put it back in so he warned me that I shouldn't drop my phone anymore + Was helpful in providing information on nearby ATMs for cash (btw, I think they prefer cash, but also accept card!) + Office is nice and next to a doctor's office I think + Ample waiting room + bathroom + Screen works really well - fully functional and responsive. The only consideration is that it's not exactly the same screen as the original iPhone XR screen, however I don't think most people would be able to tell and also it is cheaper than what Apple would charge. The screen is fast, responsive, clear. The customer service here is great as well. It turns out Apple forgot to put back my SIM card as well and when I messaged Andy to ask about it, he responded immediately. The prices were really reasonable, and it was so quick! They told me it would take about 30 minutes, but I feel like it took maybe 15 minutes at most. Friendly, quick service! Years ago I got my screen repaired here w/o issues, so I returned recently when my iPhone X had water damager. I explained what happened - after the phone being underwater, FaceID was not working and later it was not possible to turn the phone on. I was told to leave the phone there, they'll do diagnostics, and will let me know if it is repairable, and if so for how much. A few days later, I was told that the phone can be fixed for $189, which I agreed to. After picking up the phone, I discovered that the FaceID was still broken. I let them know, and I was told that they knew it can't be fixed -- which I wasn't told beforehand. They also complained that the work already done was costly and they made no money on this, which of course is an excuse, and not my fault. I was offered to bring the phone back and they would remove some of their parts for a refund; however, I was leaving NY and unable to come and leave the phone again. If they are losing money, I should have been quoted more than the $189. Mainly, I should have been told that the phone cannot be fully repaired -- objectively I did not get what I paid for - a repaired phone. read more

To summarize: Numerous screen problems with their poor aftermarket screens requiring multiple visits, the technician lied to me and to his boss, and the cherry on top is a major COVID-related violation - lack of mask for the technician, who didn't even put one on after mentioning this fact. I actually reported them to 311 out of respect for those at-risk, and they visited a few days later, upon which they were STILL violating COVID rules and issued them a warning. For those trying to be careful, I'd avoid this shop as clearly they are not respecting the COVID reopening guidelines despite what they may say, especially given the fact that it's a small, enclosed office space. If you want a high-quality screen and honest repair staff, go elsewhere. Very disappointing experiences with Andy and his team regarding a cracked iPhone X screen. Andy stated that the replacement screen would be OEM OLED over Yelp message. They swapped the screen, but after a couple of hours, it was clear it was not even OLED, let alone OEM. Black parts of the screen remain backlit, didn't dim nearly to the same degree as an OLED screen, reddish tint to the screen, worse viewing angles, etc. Andy said after messaging, "Please come by we will give you another one to try or full refund if u still don't like the color ." Nice offer, but either way still need to make the trek back out to their office (45 min for me.) Made the trip back, and they replaced the screen a second time. They got Andy on the phone and, paraphrasing, he said he wasn't sure why they used the screen they did, but it was not the right one. This time, the new screen was better off and was OLED, though certainly not OEM. Within a couple of hours of leaving again, the screen started having very inaccurate touch sensitivity for typing and clicking, including detecting a normal press as a hard press, etc. etc. I went back into the store once again, third time there now. They tried a PRAM reset, I believe, which I had also tried, but for some reason, it started working a bit better. After leaving, however, clicks registering as a hard press started happening again within a couple of hours, so I ended up just turning off the hard press functionality as I was just worn down of dealing with issues with them at this point. Fortunately, the touch inaccuracy remained minimal, so all seemed okay... ...until one day, the phone's screen started heating up dramatically. After about 30 minutes, the screen's top half stopped working, strangely. No big deal, right? They offer a year warranty for non-damage related issues. I return to the shop to swap out the screen. Again. My first visit to them since the mask mandate was put in place, and the technician is not wearing a mask the whole time I was there (see photos), which from the start had me uncomfortable. He took a look at the phone and said the internal LCD must be damaged. He tried to show me where the "damage" was, but there was nothing there. You can see the phone working fine and no scratches visible under the surface from my attached photos. So basically, after speaking to Andy on the phone (which the technician tossed on a table with some attitude after I stated I didn't want to touch it and would prefer it to be on speakerphone instead for COVID reasons.). Andy said, in essence, that because the top part of the screen was not working, that would have to mean the LCD has been damaged by some fault of mine. I bought a new, even better case after the first damage, had on a screen protector, and I am generally very careful with my phone (the initial repair was sparked by my first iPhone screen crack I've ever had since I bought my first one many years ago.) This coupled with the fact that there was no evidence of damage, it's clear this screen was just another dud all along. Andy also didn't take my comments seriously about his technician not wearing a mask the whole time I was there. Before I gave up and left, I heard the technician lying to Andy, saying something along the line of "the screen looks like he's been playing baseball with it" (a weird way for him to put it, I must say, but truly ridiculous if you see the phone screen photos I've included). I don't know why he felt the need to continue to lie to Andy, maybe to try to cover himself. Anyways, I write this review, as the money spent with these guys is completely trivial to the many, many hours of wasted time I've had dealing with them. I don't post reviews often anymore, but I felt the need to take the time to do this to warn consumers about these guys. read more

I replaced the cracked glass screen of my iPhone here and told them initially that I had broken the power button and had it adjusted the week before (and paid a lot for that part) so they needed to be careful if they needed to press it. When I got my phone back, they demonstrated the screen by repeatedly smashing the power button and when I said they broke it again, they told me I just needed to press 'extra hard.' Needless to say, the power button (which was a way more expensive repair) no longer works. To add insult to injury, they said I should try my phone screen on my way out. I did and something felt off but I couldn't figure it out and left. Now week later, I realized that my screen feels significantly more...sensitive than my old one with the same settings. Imagine scrolling through Facebook now and constantly accidentally clicking on every post. Or trying to type and hitting all the keys around it. I tried to slow down the click rate but then it took a second to type every letter. This didn't happen before, with any phone, even with the cracked screen. I asked some technical forums and they said that it was due to the quality of generic screens. Also just as an FYI, the receptionist on the 1st floor sends everyone to an identical looking phone place on the 6th floor. That is a completely different business and I feel bad that they are diverting business there. read more

I went ahead and got my battery replaced at the same time and now it's like having a brand new phone. Hasn't held a charge this great for a good long while now. I've dropped my iPhone 7 probably 5 times a day for the past year and the screen finally shattered yesterday. Ironically, I had a tempered glass screen which was completely undamaged. Rather than spending $150 at the Apple store, I came here for the repair because of its good reviews! I had a pleasant experience right off the bat. I was greeted by Yung who was super nice. The replacement was done within 35 min. The repair guy did some tests to make sure the phone was working correctly. When he was putting the new screen on, there was a white spot that wouldn't go away so he replaced the screen again. Now my phone looks good as new. You will not leave disappointed! I was given a free case for my phone since Yung saw that my current one was super old. They also have a 1 year warranty on the functionality as long as the screen isn't cracked again which is a huge plus.
