I went in for karaoke as I do often and yes it was busy but I waited 2 hours, saw the same people sing multiple times, people that came in after me singing and my name was never called! I went up to the host and asked for my 3 dollars back and she looked for my slip which was way in the back, handed it to me with my money and never even said I apologize that I couldn't get you up to sing! I owned a karaoke business for many years and would never do that to someone, and I didn't even charge per song! I went here on Saturday the 16th of November after work. I never write yelp reviews unless I have to. Also when a venue has just that one staff member that is letting the business or team down that is not the business's fault. I was having a nightcap with my partner and just before 4am we had to leave of course because it was closing time. The young guy that was working at the bar was awesome! But the young lady had an attitude with us and when she told us to leave she said 'get out' like we were absolute filth. She did not tell anyone else to leave. It felt like she had attitude with me as soon as I walked in. I almost let this go but I think it's wrong to let something like this go while there are so many amazing ppl that want to work that take pride in customer service. Iggy's is an amazing spot! Everything else was great and I will always consider coming back if I'm in the area. I just believe this is something that needs to be addressed. For a late Thursday night, there were many people and I felt like most of them were singing karaoke which is great vibes and the bartender was nice. I couldn't give it a 5 because they had a 2 drink minimum when buying drinks with your card which forced me to drink more when I was more comfortable drinking one at a time but even worse was the men's bathroom door didn't lock so I had to manually hold the door closed when using the bathroom (I hope they fix it soon). This place had the potential to be fun, but we ended up waiting 2.5 hours for our songs we paid for to not be played. There is no system in place, no list, just whatever or whoever the karaoke girl wants to play to show off. I'm an avid karaoke goer so I understand having to wait but this was ridiculous. Not a fun atmosphere, a claustrophobic bar with overpriced drinks considering how grimy it is. The karaoke feature isn't worth it, with the amount of time you're waiting around for a song since they tend to instead just take your money and play what they want. How little did I underestimate Iggy's in my last review...I merely mentioned "fighting" but last night they really outdid themselves with a shooting! Nine bullets at 3am spilling out onto Second Avenue. Cops galore and it even made the news. If you are looking for some excitement this is definitely one way to find it. Pure class. read more

I ultimately got a refund but it will never erase their lack of responsibility, the aloof attitude from the crappy bartender, the hassle I had to go through and the fact that I missed a basketball game because I was running around going back to this bar to see if they found my card and ultimately having to go to the bank to get a new debit card. This was a weekend getaway and their lack of responsibility placed a huge burden and inconvenience to our weekend. We were asked to change our review after we got our refund and we still absolutely refuse to do so! The refund was the least they could do! Glad this place is still around! It adds some variety to the usual second avenue scene. The crowd depends on what celebration floats in but as this karaoke bar has a stage, I'm always in! For the UES, the drinks are on the reasonable side. This place has some great energy. Hubbs and I came here last night to celebrate our girlfriend's recent nuptials. They reserved a long table for family and friends but we roll deep so, most were standing. It wasn't a big deal because the place is fun. They have a long bar and plenty of games like Jenga to pass the time but we came out for Karaoke. The DJ was great. She joined in and sang some songs, herself, and was very interactive with the crowd. We arrived around 8:30 pm on Saturday night and the place was pretty empty. After about an hour or so, it quickly started to pack up. People came in groups and everyone was so nice to each other. The crowd was joining in on the songs and despite the political climate we're experiencing right now, the vibe was energetic and full of love and respect. It was a mixed crowd and everyone was just enjoying each other and the music. The service was great even though it was packed. The bartenders are really nice and absent of that usual pretentiousness you tend to get at some places. The DJ called out different specials during the night like $5 Fireball shots that lasted for a limited amount of time. The drinks were good but we had to eat first because thats what we do. I stuffed some wings down my gullet and hubbs had a burger. Both were typical bar food, not great but did what was intended. After we had a chance to fill our bellies, we just went HAM on the drinks. We all took turns getting up on stage to sing a tune and the crowd sung along. It was great. I definitely want to come back. read more

Came to this Irish pub a few weeks ago for some karaoke. Karaoke starts after 9. You pay $2 per song for the song you want to sing. The bartenders were cool, very social and attentive. Drink prices were reasonable and cheaper than other bars (it was an Irish pub). I got the spinach and artichoke dip and the beef sliders to share. The spinach and artichoke dip was phenomenal. They serve their food in take our containers. I wish they didn't underestimate their food because it was really good. I think they should get rid of the takeout containers and actually serve with presentation. I don't know if I'll come back as it's pretty far from where I live but this place was cool and I highly recommend if you're looking for some good karaoke. They have a book of songs to choose from and they even have a stage. read more

If 2nd Ave between 75th/76th were a family, Iggy's would be the neglected stepchild next to its popular and spoiled older sibling, The Stumble Inn. Most people walk past it and hardly take notice. Try as Iggy's might with their drink specials and hand-written signs outside that boast a good time, they can't quite seem to draw in the crowds. But that's actually part of what's great about Iggy's. I've been to Iggy's twice, both times because The Stumble Inn was too crowded. It's chill, non-pretentious, and under-rated. The bartenders are very friendly and very Irish, and the bar-goers are laid-back. They also have karaoke on certain nights, darts, and other games to play. They have a full bar and a decent selection of beers on tap. Their specialty cocktails are all terribly sweet, so unless you're a just-turned-21 college kid, skip these. They also have a food menu with your standard pub fare like nachos and wings. Great casual karaoke bar upper east! Iggy made renovations several years ago, so the back area is still casual but is nicer, not as divey as it used to be, with interesting artwork added. Recently visited a friend who lives in the Upper East Side. We went drinking on a Saturday afternoon and this was one of our first stops. We ended up enjoying it so much that we stayed for about two hours. Through the place is more lively at night with Karaoke, its vibe in the afternoon is perfect for having a few casual beers at the bar. The bartender was fantastic and quick and there were plenty of sports on TV. Drinks weren't horribly expensive either. Only complaint: The bathrooms are kind of disgusting and in need of some fixing, but I never have high expectations for dive bars. read more

I've been here maybe 15 times. Tonight was sooo bad, I don't think I'll return. First, the DJ was bad, she didn't know how to work the computer. She was letting 30 minutes of radio play in between 1 karaoke song. The energy was DYING. There were only 10-15 people in the entire karaoke area. Not all of whom had put in songs. Listening to lame radio songs for that long is something you can do in an elevator, without paying for it. My friend and I paid for our songs, and never sang. I started talking to the strangers around me to see what was up. They were waiting 2 plus hours to sing one song. She was letting her friends stand on the stage and dance around while she played radio songs and they'd sing to the radio. Then she'd have her friends sing a few songs. While people who paid never sang. Taking someone's money for a service, and not providing the service...what is that called again? ummm...oh right! A crime. I complained to two bartenders who just shrugged.They said let's give it 20-30 minutes and see. Well that was the time she was playing the radio between each karaoke song. Then two Latino men told me that the DJ actually IN ALL SERIOUSNESS asked them for A BRIBE to play their song!!! That was it. It hit me she was purposefully making the night suck hoping people would bribe her to put on the karaoke songs they had paid for. And the bartenders and everyone were OK with this. We waited an hour and a half to listen to the radio. And watch her friends dance around. This was truly embarrasing. Everyone thought the DJ was incompetent or stupid, everyone was saying it. You seriously just click the song. It's not that hard. Then we realized she was doing this on purpose, in the hopes PEOPLE WOULD BRIBE HER to play songs. Then we left. Without ever singing our songs we paid for.j They then let a guy change the words to a song and stand up there and yell "eating ass" again and again for the entire song. I'm OK with divey places but this is truly an embarrassment. I don't know if their management knows this is how it's being run. If they don't, they should figure it out quickly. It used to be packed here and fun. They used to actually play your karaoke song within an hour, and most of the songs were karaoke singers, not the radio. And maybe that's why there were only 10-15 people there the entire night tonight on a weekend. Asking people for bribes is...I have no words. read more

After a recent visit, I am updating my 2016 review. Thankfully, Iggy's has reopened. Not so thankfully, draft prices have increased substantially. While I understand the necessity to increase prices after the calamity of 2020, Iggy's prices have increased more than most, I think. Gone is the $3 PBR on tap (no more PBR on draft!), now we can settle for a $5 Bud Lite. Even worse, other beers, like the Brooklyn I tried, sell for a whopping $9. I wonder what Iggy would think of this, may his memory be a blessing. read more

Luke, the DJ, was a Broadway singer who sang backup vocals for all of our (misguided) attempts at ABBA and other pop songs. Been to this dive bar plenty of times before and always enjoyed the atmosphere. They have some top shelf choices of alchohol, but that is sure not why you entered this establishment for. They have Flat Screen TV's, Karaoke, and occasionally comedians. There is absolutely no way you can not be entertained in the bar. If you are hungry, you can order food from somewhere else delivered at the bar. Easy going place with your neighborhood regulars serving beer and cocktails at very reasonable prices. read more
