It took me a couple of days to have the balls to post this. I'm pretty open and bold about situations but this really scarred me and messed with my confidence. DO NOT GO TO Iggy's Karaoke Sports Grill. What my friends and I experienced was NOT okay. My writing this story does not even tip the iceberg of how incredibly disgusting this behavior was. Within forty five minutes of being there my friends got harassed by a guy, which the bouncer heard, let him in the bar and the guy was so upset that we were not interested he followed me in and started screaming at me calling me an ugly and Bitch. No one did anything. He then got so angry and HIT me in the eye. It was then that he was removed from the bar. The employee who was running karaoke plowed through the bar screaming and knock me against the wall on his way out. Another man was walking thru and kept saying excuse me. I put my hands up so he could get thru and he made a very sexual comment about passing thru me and how I made it an easy access. I TOLD THE BARTENDER. not five minutes later the same guy is arguing with another girl, threatening her, degrading her. Putting his hands in her face. I asked if she were okay and she said no. The man had touched her when she was dancing. I told the bouncer. Nothing. She then threatened to bring her bf back and she did. The next thing we know, two grown men are tussling on the floor. This man then threw a beer on me so naturally I threw one back on him. He then continued to scream at me outside while I was waiting for my friend. He called me an ugly bitch a cunt and how ugly my hair is and trashy my body was. He told me I need to do my hair like my white friends. I was standing parallel to the bouncer and he did nothing. I picked up my phone to started recording and he took my phone and threw it across the street into traffic. Then he grabbed me by the shoulders, shook me, and tried to threw me to the ground. It was THEN THE BOUNCER TOOK ACTION TO LEAVE THE PREMISES. When I was finally able to talk to the manager he stopped my story and said: was the comment he made about your body a good comment or a bad comment?? The bartenders are trash, the bouncers are trash and the management is trash. LADIES! Don't ever let a man disrespect you. And don't go to this trash bar. Once we left to the bar across the street, the employees and surrounding girls said they have had similar harassment stories from that bar as well. That. Is. Disgusting. read more

Totally underrated venue that houses a (narrow) dive bar in front and a party/dance floor in the back. Seems totally underwhelming from the outside but when you enter, your senses will be flooded with how lively this place is. Had a very fun night out with friends and thought it was also conveniently located in UES nearby other usual hangout spots Drinks are OK, the crowd is full of positive vibes (although as other reviews have suggested, some of the male guests are a bit questionable), and if you come with a friend or two, you'll be sure to have a memorable time. It's literally a bar/casual club where you can enjoy the moment and de-stress while listening to some great music. Divey bar on the UES. Great for karaoke - open mic version. $2 a song, gets pretty crowded during the weekends but definitely not as crowded as going to a bar downtown. Some days you got a good voice and the crowd is with you or you're drunk out of your mind and the crowd is not. Sometimes a mix of both. Great venue none the less. read more

I live next door to Iggy's (along with Stumble Inn & Mel's Burgers) and the staff is the most inconsiderate bunch of humans I've ever met. Other neighboring establishments during COVID have followed social distancing rules, been conscious of pedestrians on the sidewalk, and minded the noise but Iggy's has been loud, intrusive, disruptive, and dangerous every time they open. I've had to fight my way out of my own apartment through drunk, loud, and unmasked idiots who show no remorse and a staff that watches and does nothing. Iggys is the BEST!!! Discovered this place a few years ago since living in the neighborhood and it's become my local go-to. There is karaoke every night (and sometimes day) which is AMAZING, but there is also plenty of dancing and seats to go around depending on your preference. Lastly, the staff are all amazing (and mostly Irish ). I planned a surprise party here recently and Ryan (the bartender / manager) was beyond helpful, friendly, and generous - I would recommend everyone plan a party here if you're in the market. Yipes, this place is fully for drunky people. But with karaoke and average beer prices, what do you expect? This is about as divey as the UES gets. The space is pretty narrow except for the back space, where karaoke is going on, so you might get bumped into a lot. This feature was quite irritating. read more

A shadow of its former self. My wife and I visited on Thur FEB 23 so she could sing some Karoake. It appears you have to be a friend of the DJ to avoid having your song buried in a back-beat boom boom boom that drowns out any semblance of the original song. The low light was that the music was set too high and the mic set too low. Some of the song versions were different, not the Sunfly or Sound Choice versions I'm used to. I absolutely LOVE IGGY'S! On November 10th 2015 I celebrated my birthday at IGGY'S. My guests and I had an amazing time! I planned my birthday a week in advance and Ryan at IGGY'S was great he helped me figure out drink specials for my guess and all other logistic issues. On the day of my event Iggy the owner was there to facilitate everything! The bartender Kathy (sp?) was so accommodating. The karaoke DJ was the BEST! My guests loved it they were able to sing and dance and were easily served at the bar. The manager Edris (sp?) was also very sweet. My guests and I ordered food from next door and she helped us coordinate all of the orders and payments. I absolutely recommend having any event you could possibly think of at IGGY'S! This place is the definition of a dive bar. Trashy and smelly. I heard it was karaoke night and came with my friends. It definitely was not what I had expected. When I heard karaoke, I was thinking private room with couches and a large flat screen. Nope, this ain't no K-Town. In the back of the bar there is a small stage where people go up on and sing to the entire bar - all is good when you are wasted though. Plus, it helps that most people there cannot sing anyway. But most importantly everyone is there to just have a good time. It's truly a no judgement zone. It costs $2 to request a song from a rather large selection. One of the most memorable birthday parties that I organized - took place here!!! I will always remember the fun with the karaoke, the food, and the drinks. The DJ comes in the evening and that's when the place starts getting PACKED. But for some reason, most of the song choices are 80s and it was sooooo much fun. I had a group of 30 friends, this bday party took place a few years ago. To date, we still refer to that night at Iggy's because of the craziness that went on. Surprisingly, no matter how large the crowd was, everyone was very respectful. (been to crowded clubs/bars with rude patrons, nuts!). I am not sure if it is the Upper east side civilized atmosphere but when I mean crowded, it was shoulder to shoulder crowded. And even with that, the bartenders still managed to squeeze their way through the different cliques. And on top of that, we were all DANCING, with strangers too!! SOOOO FUNNY. It was like as if everyone got along soooo well. My friends selected the song: "enter the sandman" and the crowd went wild!!! (I dont even know that song) It was a really hilarious night. If you plan to come here, it's good to check it out for the fun of it. But if it's a group, you guys better be willing to sing/dance and to enjoy the party-like atmosphere. For food - there is basic bar food, etc. The place can hold up to a lot of people. For private parties, just work with the manager. Why does this place get so many bad reviews? I've lived in the neighborhood for less than a month and I've already been to Iggy's more times than I can count... mostly because I've been hanging out with a dude that basically lives there ha but I still quite enjoy it. Loved Iggy's. We decided to go here on a football Sunday to watch some football and escape the Sunday scaries. It didn't disappoint! They have a long bar area where it's divey, and it opens up in the back with like a party area. On football Sundays, they have excellent drink specials (6 dollar Bloody Mary/ Mimosa and 3 dollar beers) and free hot dogs and snacks. They have plenty of TVs and most of the games are on. We had great service from our bartender. My only complaint is the gross bathrooms. There is one for men and one for women and they're both disgusting. Other than that, highly recommend! My girlfriends and I had a blast here. If your into dive bars with some old school charm this is the place for you!!! We went on a Friday night and they had karaoke, which was great. (Especially sense the locals can hold a tuner or my drunk self thinks so lmao). The service was surprisingly quick considering how swapped they where. Iggy's is an UES staple. I've been a resident of the UES for several years and have never not had a great time at Iggy's. There's a mix of chill types, frat / sorority types, bougie types and everyone in between which makes nights here exciting, unpredictable, yet somehow comforting. Iggy's is a great place for karaoke! I go there a few times a week and it's a different ambiance every day.  There are sooo many songs to chose from and the list is updated regularly so we can find even the newest songs which is great. While Mondays tend to be really slow, weekends are generally very busy so a 2 hr wait is expected. I was there yesterday and was told there were over 20 songs ahead of me (and there was a sign saying that the wait is over two hours). Pretty typical for Friday nights. I honestly don't understand Melissa B.'s comment who is slandering the DJ at the time for only doing her job. People need to understand that DJs can't control when someone signs up for a song and then also comes up to sing on their friend's song too. Shallow was the only solo (duet) the DJ sang all night (at least from 10-3) that I heard. Also, I'm the one who sang Firework yesterday and had to wait like everyone else (and also, the dj wasn't singing during my song like the review implied). I just feel bad that someone has to suffer in their job because of someone who doesn't want to play by the rules. It's more about dancing and having fun. Everyone gets their turn eventually. Went here last night and they totally LIED about their happy hour. I was meeting a friend who was in town for a few days and arrived right after 7 (Monday night) i was happy to see their sign when I walked in that stated "whole bar half price til 8). I walked up to the bar, ordered from the male bartender, ordered a Stoli O & Soda...then said "this is included in the happy hour right?" He then said happy hour ended at 7...I said, no the sign says its til 8. He then scurried away leaving me drink-less. After standing around a few minutes a female bartender approached and asked if I'd like to order. I said that I gave the guy my order but he disappeared. The girl then proceeded to take about 5 minutes to pour me a vodka soda! I didn't realize it was such a tricky cocktail to craft! After getting my drink, I decided to go outside to snap a pic of the sign to show the bartenders that it indeed said 8pm. That's when I realized where the original bartender had scurried off too - the sign was gone!!! I know I didn't just see the sign wrong because my friend who walked in with me read the same thing (as did other friends who were at the bar). I wasn't coming here expecting drink specials...but I do expect a bar to honor their advertised prices. If you want to end your happy hour at 7....FINE...but GET A NEW SIGN! Totally misleading...I felt like me (and everyone else in the bar) had been scammed. Shady, Shady, Shady!!! Will I come back to this place?
