This is your average dive sports bar on upper east side. It's like a family here everyone knows each other. Has been around since the 1950's. Its on the smaller side of a bar. There are big tvs around the bar as its a good spot to catch a game with friends. They have a decent size bar area. They have a nice selection of beers and cocktails as well. There are table and chairs to enjoy your drinks at but there is no food served here. The bathrooms for the females are very small ( the stalls). Just FYI. read more

Great bar to watch the F1 races at! There's no kitchen, so you're free to bring your own food in/have some delivered. The bar tenders are very personable and nice and want to get to know you. I love the way the seats and bar are set up to watch the TVs. read more

I really enjoy going here when I want to escape. Dartboard is almost always open to practise on. There is seating like there might be a menu but no food just drinks. You can bring your own food in and it is totally fine. Average beers on tap none of my staples. At least they have tiny cans of PBR (no tall boys) but who cares. The all male staff are memorable and unique and so are the regulars. The randomes that come in from time to time are typically fun folks. I avoid this place when it is packed because normally it is just one dude back there. Tons of screens to watch all the games on a Sunday. Lots of cool sports memorabilia on the walls. (Rangers mostly) one or two arcade games (no more pinball) Like I said in the beginning this is a perfect spot to hide, drink, shoot and be left alone. Don't forget to tip well. A decent spot to watch Michigan football. The random day we were there they had one bartender and she was fighting the good fight for sure. There must have been 100 people in there and she held it down. God bless her. Good times were had. They have enough TVs to make it worth your while and the drinks keep flowing...as they should. Only bummer is that they don't have food but then again they do so much right. Can't get down on that. They do allow you to order and bring in food which pretty much everyone was doing. If you're in the mood for a true UES Yorkville neighborhood bar, this is undoubtedly that. No frills but good ol'fashioned Irish hospitality. Place where you'll always strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. Never really that crowded but enough so you're not bored. My friend lives right around the corner to this place, and we decided to come here for drinks before a night out We definitely weren't dressed with the crowd lol.. It's more of a chill, laidback bar.. but of course we were dressed up to go clubbing heh..... The bartender was so nice and helpful! My whiskey+gingerale was only $5 and when we couldn't decide what else to get, he suggested a lemondrop shot. Delicious!! Rock on. This is an off the beaten path very cool Irish pub on York Ave, upper east side. with a lot of room to move and fair prices on beer, wine, liquor. At least one of the bartenders has great taste in music and will accommodate requests if they don't suck. Awesome music is essential for any great bar or club. A great bar with a casual and homey atmosphere. I make it a point to stop in every time I am in the area. It's an extra treat if Christina is working! She really knows her stuff, and seems to make everyone who enters feel welcome. I think being a great bartender takes true skill - and she definitely has it down pat. It's an excellent place to pop in for a drink or a round of darts. Never too loud for conversations with friends, and plenty of room to spread out. Perfect for a cozy night. Dear Yelp Reader, Best pub on the east side of Manhattan. Period. Look they don't serve food. Get over it. Delicious pizza across the street is totally welcome in the bar. I REALLY wanted Baileys to be my new local pub. I just moved from 3rd ave to 1st ave... and I need a new bar within stumbling distance. Bailey's seemed like the nice, laid back atmosphere I needed. Darts, photo hunt, lots of dark corners and cozy nooks... candles and the "local paper" to keep you busy add a nice touch. But then there are the dogs. Sorry puppy lovers... I just don't need your pets sniffing around my feet when I'm having a few drinks (or worse, having a bite to eat) with my friends. You don't need to bring your dog everywhere. I realize I might be firing up some dog lovers right now, but I just don't think eating and drinking establishments for people should be shared with animals. Lastly, a roach crawled onto my purse which was conveniently on my lap. I know roaches are everywhere, but I couldn't help let it take off like a quarter of a star. They now have EROTIC PHOTO HUNT!!!!!! (any bar with that is a friend of mine - is there really anything better?) This past Sunday I had yet another damn good time at Bailey's. We ordered Thai food right to the bar. Another pint with my Pad See Ew please! There were a ton of people with their dogs which is a not only a great conversation starter, but I mean it's hard not to have a great time with dogs around. Can I pet Fido? Can I roll around on the ground with Fido? Hard to be miserable when you can pet a sweet puppy. $5 beers kept us there for a few hours. Great bar. read more

I'm sitting in here right now. 11pm on a Friday night. There are less than twenty people here, which is good I guess if you don't like a crowd. There's also a few dogs in here. Nothing overwhelming on the canine front. Crowd is not young, maybe thirties and forties. The bartender has been farting into the microphone for a while and playing clips from when that guy said everyone was bein raped and to hide yo kids. Funny, right? Ha. Ha. I read the reviews for this place and was so excited to come here. Man was I let down. I ordered three beers: Yuengling and miller light drafts, bud light bottle. Whoever said drinks were cheap can explain the $17 for three basic domestic beers. Cheap would be under five bucks each. Clubs and lounges have beers for five or six each, and this is not a club or a lounge. Maybe my money is going toward paying for these people's dog treats. Anyways, as soon as I finish this solid gold beer (I think that's what I paid for) I'm getting out of here and not coming back. I hope I don't step on a land-mine on my way out. read more

I've lived in two places in New York (the UWS, and Brooklyn) and this relatively nondescript pub is the only thing that dependably forces me to travel more than five blocks for my hoppy fix. Is it because I've got friends who live(d) directly above it? Sure, that helps. But after a few visits, and wayyyy too many dollar bills shoved ever so unceremoniously in the digital jukebox (80s hair hits for $100 please, Alex), this basically became my neighborhood bar even though it wasn't anywhere near the neighborhood. It's often busy enough to not make me feel like I'm a drunk just wasting my life away, but quiet enough that I don't have to yell at my friends (or the bartender) just to be heard. They have a fistful of menus to order anything you want and there's a 7-11 across the street in case that taquito urge just can't be quenched. And, really, nothing's more shocking than to have the shades drawn for a night of alcohol-infused fun only to open the door expecting the cool brunt of nighttime and get passed by someone jogging in the bright, early-morning sun. I should go to this bar more. The one time I did visit, I saw A.J. from the Sopranos outside, drunk and belligerent. The bartenders were politely stern with him, and he eventually left. So, it appears to be a hot spot for agitated low-level celebrities... AND it's very close to my apartment. There are several TVs, friendly bar staff and many options for beers. Bailey's has an comfortable Irish feel to it, but it doesn't use it as a shtick. You go here to gather with friends, have a few drinks, and maybe watch the game.... no gimmicks need. read more

This bar is absolutely the best on the Upper East side! So welcoming and fun. We came in a year ago and it's now our "local" - even though we don't live nearby. The bar staff are absolute rock stars! Christina will make it a party no matter what! She's super attentive and makes everyone feel like family. Rich, who works mostly days, is the most solid, affable guy you will ever meet - and he's a huge Mets fan (bonus!). And Mark is so sweet and always goes out of his way to find out how people are doing. Long story short - go to this bar! read more

When I lived on the UES I used to spend my evenings and weekends there after the dog park. I LOVED that I could take my dog and drink too! Decent priced drinks and staff who remembers you. Can't complain. Although, depending on the bartender service can be slow. I never was treated badly but I know a couple friends who had bad service. I'm sure it was just one of those days. Rude Went there to watch a soccer game. With complete understanding that it is not a popular sport in the US, the place has multiple TVs and was playing the same American football game on many of them. When we asked if we can watch a soccer game (it's okay to tuck us away in the corner on a small TV), bartender just interrupted and said, "I don't have the TVs for it" and walked away. Hope you are interested in a popular sport and willing to tolerate a stressed bartender that can't be bothered with people. If so, you'll get multiple viewing angles.
