2 stars overall We came here after seeing so many great reviews, so we're excited but unfortunately our experience didn't quite live up to the reviews We ordered chips and salsa and asked for extra salsa at the counter when paying. Re the salsa the interaction felt a bit uncomfortable (it seemed like asking for extra was an inconvenience), which was surprising given that we paid for chips and salsa. And the salsa is on the watery side; and isn't too flavorful. They only gave us the green and red but not the orange one. I miss it when real taqueria's had salsa bars laid out so you could retry various salsa's various them not letting you try the different types of salsa even when you order chips and salsa and 3 meals. The veggie burrito was also disappointing. When ordering, we were told it included grilled veggies, but it ended up being just bell peppers and onions. I was hoping for a bit more variety on the vegetables, so that was a letdown. They should call it a bell pepper and onion burrito instead of grilled vegetables and it didn't even include guac or anything special just rice and beans. We also tried a tamale, which had much more masa than filling, throwing off the balance. They do add some salsa on top, but it doesn't make up for the lack of much filling. Their carnitas burrito was okay as well. Overall, the food and service didn't live up to the glowing reviews, and it felt underwhelming. The food is solid... I've tried tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc and all are delicious. For me, the green salsa served with chips/meals is amazing!!! Many places serve chips and salsa, but I will always go back because of the green salsa served... not sure if it's called verde or tomatillo, but it makes the restaurant for me. read more

Been here about a half dozen times and the food is very solid. Our usuals are the chicken mole enchiladas and the two enchiladas (one with green sauce and one with red sauce). They're all excellent. Today we tried their super burritos and asked for them grilled. It was burrito heaven. We also had a really good and potent sangria. Service is always super friendly and accommodating. read more

Amazing little spot! I've always driven past and never had a chance to stop. I ordered the deal of the day, shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the super burrito, they were both incredible! We sat in their adorable outdoor patio with lovely decor. The service was excellent, both gentleman that helped us were helpful and patient (with answering all my questions about the menu and when I spilled my salsa ). Chips and salsa were $2 but came with a variety of 3 salsas. Overall lovely little place with great service and cozy ambiance. We'll definitely be returning! read more

Solid baja style fish taco, so good. Fish is tender, flavorful sauces, nice and soft flour tortilla. I went with the fried fish option. It eats kinda messy, you'll definitely need some napkins on hand. The shrimp taco is also delicious; it comes with fajita veggies. I wouldn't recommend the chile verde, the pork was pretty dry. Tried this place recently since I was in the area . This is a review from a vegan / vegetarian person. Liked that they use a good mix of veggies ( bell peppers , zucchini , onions ) for their veggie options compared to many places which will simply omit the meat . Tried the a la carte enchiladas , 1 each with the red and green sauce . Omitted the cheese to make it vegan. They use chicken broth to cook the rice so it is not vegan / veg friendly . The beans are vegan / vegetarian from what I was told. The flavor of the sauces was nothing remarkable , so not sure I would want to try the place again. read more

I paid over $17 for a burrito and they got my order wrong. They tried to make up for it by giving me a side of beans. What am I going to do with a side of beans by itself? Didn't even give me a fork to eat it with. Remake the burrito if you got the order wrong! read more

This is still our favorite Mexican restaurant. I read my prior review and felt I should update it because I wanted to highlight that their ceviche is always outstanding. Their food is always fresh and tasty. I had family visiting from Washington state and they agreed it was the best Mexican food they'd had in California in recent years. Yum. read more

The meats and ingredients taste of a higher quality than some places, they ALWAYS get our order correct, (and it's usually substantial) I like their menu and it's always fresh and ready when we arrive. This place is solid and consistent with their flavors and portions. The fish tacos are and so far everything we've tried (although usually just the fish tacos) has been tasty and very generous portions. The service is as you'd expect from a place where you walk up to order. Friendly staff and the food is brought to your table in a timely manner. The eating area inside is pretty small and if it's busy it can be tricky to sit down. The outside patio was closed (presumably due to weather, although it's covered so I didn't think the rain would be an issue, maybe T's something else. Craving a burrito bowl but wanted to cut down on the carbs some. After a quick search, found iGuey's naked burrito (no tortilla). Placed an online order and it was ready when I arrived about 15 mins later. IGuey = chicken, Carne asada, and grilled shrimp with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. Ordered it with no rice. Out of the 3 proteins, I liked the shrimp more so and would probably order it with just that next time. Totally satisfied the craving. May not look like much but it was filling. read more

Been going to iGuey Taqueria ever since my co-worker told me about it. And as a company lunch, we've been periodically ordering take-out from there for the last couple years. Their special baja fish tacos and burritos are fantastic. I order the fish grilled as I don't need the extra batter. What's so good is that I can fully taste the fish - they're generous with the amount - and the rest of the fillings don't overpower the fish. I've order both the regular versions as well as the super versions - and love both. It just depends how hungry you are. :) I've also ordered the iGUEY taco and burrito - and really like them too, but my go-to is the fish ones. Came here after a few people who know my love for burritos told me I should try it and found myself driving in the area, and I decided to pop on in. The rain had begun to fall, it was after the lunch rush, and no line to he seen. I peeped the menu which is on the chalkboard written on the top part of the walls when you walk in. Not sure why I looked because I knew that a steak/shrimp burrito was in my future. For me the burrito was more of a 3.5. I like when the steak has crispier edges, here the meat was kinda soft. and the shrimp could've used more time of the grill. I like that you have a choice of beans (pinto, black, or refried). The rice was flavorful, although they were light handed with the guacamole. $13ish for a steak/shrimp is standard. The cashier asked if I wanted chips n salsa, didn't mention it was an extra $1.5, but what's a burrito without some fresh crunchy chips , am I right? The habanero salsa was pretty good and the green was too. Salsas are more on the watery side, which is great for pouring onto the burrito, but not so much for the chips. Overall, good burrito for the area. A bit of a drive for me but judging from the other reviews that Baja fish would be the next thing I'd try if I find myself here again. read more

iGuey is located on the corner of White Oak Way and the Main Street: El Camino Real. You can't miss it as it resides next to Trader Joe's. There's mostly street parking available. The Taqueria has charming decor with indoor dining area and also a small patio in the back. The first time i tried iGuey Taqueria, i needed to pick up a couple things at Trader Joe's. It was easy to walk in order then go shopping and return to the iGuey to pick up my meal to go. The second time I ordered meals online through GrubHub. Really easy ordering process. Though I wondered why i got corn tortillas when I know I selected flour tortillas when ordering the veggie fajitas. The tortilla chips and salsa got a more chewier over time than crisp but the salsas were great in dipping. Both times each meal was delicious. The sides of black beans and rice complimented each enchilada or fajitas plates. The veggie taco is flavorful and with good amount of filling. Service is overall friendly. read more

We ordered the 2 combo plate with a beef enchilada and a chicken tostada. Also got the super burrito with steak. It was hearty and filled with all the usual. Steak was really tasty. But it lacked just a little oomph- definitely still tasty but maybe not as juicy or greasy as I like my super burritos (or like Taqueria San Bruno which is my gold standard for burritos). Overall it was pretty good! Portion size for the combo plate was generous and was split into two takeout containers because it was so large! Beans and rice were really nicely flavored. They packed the takeout really nicely and included a bag of chips and pre packed salsas! Service was friendly and they thanked us and smiled when we picked up the food. It's the little things.
