I went downstairs with pictures and we were switched to another room. The second room, 201 was cleaner, but had a funny smell. Like old Chinese food or something. I can't quite point my finger on the smell. One of the twin bed's headboard was broken. The room also had bugs, as my daughter got bit and developed hives and my son's pillow had a random bug on it. The good: The beds were comfy. The washers and dryers were free. The breakfast was decent. The staff was very nice. There was a full functional kitchen and dining room table for 6. The view and convenience to AWP was great! For the price, the rooms could be a little better. If you've had the pleasure of staying at random Army housing, you get the gist. I would stay again for an overnight stay, but not longer than that.

We had a one bedroom suite, which was essentially an apartment. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small with almost no counter space, but they had a drawer which made up for that. The AC worked well, with separate units in the bedroom and living room. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hot breakfast was fine, with eggs and meat. Note that non-military people can stay here. Both nights we walked to the Thayer Hotel, just inside the base gates, and ate dinner at General Patton's Tavern. The food and beer were all good.

It looked like the motel had recently undergone some renovations. The sink was outside the bathroom area. The bathroom was a little on the small size. The refrigerator was nice sized. The main downside on the room was that the bed was on some kind of metal frame that echoed loudly when touched. The bed itself was comfortable. The staff was nice and directed us to the parts of town with restaurants. There is no breakfast, but the front desk has coffee, tea, oatmeal, popcorn and Honeybuns for the guest.

Unable to get to the town due to the flooding it took numerous phone calls with the hotel to get them to agree on a 2 room credit. This was not an easy task, despite the town being flooded and all roads blocked they said sorry we are open and it's our policy when you cancel day of not to reimburse. So we agreed to take the two room credit. Our first credit was able to be used. It took two phone calls to arrange but nevertheless they agreed to honor one credit. When I attempted to use the next credit they said it was lost. All room credits need to be used in same year (2023). So they received $180 we couldn't use originally because a flooding disaster and provided no service in return. This is a case of a business who knows despite what they do it won't matter because of the proximity to a University/tourist attraction like West Point. They don't care about customer service, or updating the hotel etc, they will get the tourists and the families who visit students money regardless. Throughout my communication they have been rude and spoke with a tone that was not professional. Again they can do this because they know all rooms will continue to be booked. So I know this review won't have an impact on the hotel but I firmly believe you get what you give. Sooner or later the hotel management will get a return on all the negativity they have given.

Parking is complimentary, and valet is available. For an extra fee, you can add breakfast to your stay, which is a nice buffet of hot and cold items. The hotel offers a lovely, spacious rooftop bar with great views, various seating options, fire pits and (when we stayed) a dj. Our room was spacious, with a separate sitting area and mini-fridge. A complimentary goodie bag was a nice welcome, and included earplugs. Very clean, easy check in and out, walkable to a variety of restaurants and beautiful grounds. NOTE: To tour West Point, you need state identification and may need to go to the visitor's center for additional clearance.

The interior lobby of the hotel does feel a bit outdated, but the rooms were clean and comfortable, I had a desk and a large clean bathroom. Amenities like shampoo, mouthwash, makeup wipes, and even ear plugs were included which was a nice touch. The woman working the front desk was a bit odd. When we arrived we gave the name of the person on our team who had booked the room (who had told us the rooms would all be under his name) and she looked it up, said, "Nope, I just have one room under that name," and then stared at us blankly. We panicked a little at that point - she didn't ask us if it could be under any other name, or you know, let us know that she had other rooms available. We finally spoke up to see if she could check whether or not they were under our individual names, which they were. The rest of our stay went well though -- there was one restaurant (Patton's Tavern) still opened by the time we arrived at 9 pm, so we got some food and passed out. Wish I'd had more time to explore the place, maybe next time.

As we settled in, we started to read some reviews since we got an odd feeling. One of them hit too close to home, I had to use my shoulder to push the door open after using my card. We also found a Key Point pin behind the drawer. the TV had many channels, but nothing good to watch unless you were born in the era of black and white shows. Things still looked worn out and rusted, but it will do. The beds were fine and I slept just fine, my feet didn't go over the foot or anything. I'm happy with the shower because it came out nice and hot (not enough pressure). My towel didn't have any red stains on them, but the ones below did. Overall, if you're just in town for the weekend, it will do. I wasn't expecting anything lavish and will be using them again in the future.

The manager "Wally" never returns call back and hotel attendant is rude, actually hung up on us.
