Too bad I couldn't give this IHOP no stars. I was there last week my husband and grandchildren for breakfast. We were seated when we entered which to me meant the service should be fairly good. Wrong. It took a very long time for the server to come to our table. We ordered two decafs and one regular coffee. The server informed us that the decaf had to be made, and brought the reg. coffee. It there was a very long wait until we finally received the worst coffee I've in years. It was supposed to be fresh but it tasted old and burnt. I ordered the cream cheese crepe without the topping. My grandson ordered a combo breakfast without the eggs. (the wasn't a price adjustment) It took a very long time for our food to arrive. Too long since people were being seated without a wait. Therefore, they weren't extremely busy. When my crepes arrived they were covered in the sugar loaded topping I didn't want.The crepes were half full, nothing like the photos in the ads. It was not sent back because I didn't want to be served after everyone at my table finished their food. All of our food was only slightly warm even though it was brought over as soon the chefs placed on the counter. Guess I will be making breakfast. read more

When I was a kid, the pancakes at IHOP tasted like buttermilk and although the syrup wasn't real maple, at least it had a flavor and it was sweet. If you want to preserve certain memories, like grabbing a quick dinner with your Mom before she drives your older brother home from his job at Korvette's, they say you should never go back. I now agree. The pancakes tasted like nothing and the syrup was just a sticky liquid that had no sweetness to it and didn't make the pancakes less dry. Our server was excellent, although when she asked us if we wanted more pancakes I wanted to ask, why have we done something to offend you? No wonder they're distancing themselves from the pancakes. Our waitress had a large table full of tough to please people and she, Erikalyn, handled it with grace and style. We were floored at her calm and kindness. The manager, Greg was also very nice. My Husband and I go to the iHop on Wold Road as often as we're in Albany. When we walked in a couple of days ago, we were pleasantly surprised with the changes. The place looks wonderful, is exceptionally clean, brand new booths which are VERY roomy. The restroom is very clean and has zero odor. The staff is AMAZING, fast and friendly and the food was not only presented beautifully, it was absolutely delicious. My husband sent his thanks to the cook and I was able to speak to him before we left to let him know how much we enjoyed brunch, and to let him know that there are cooks- and there are cooks with talent. HE is TALENTED. For those who have given this iHop a less than favorable review, I strongly suggest that you give them another try. It will definitely be worth it! We're looking forward to our next trip up to Albany and stopping into iHop for brunch again! read more

This place is horrible and outright racist. We Arrived at 10.42 am on 07/05/21, and asked for a table for 4. The girl at front could care less while she was texting or whatever on her phone. Finally , when she looked at me, she said one hour waiting. We waited few minutes and saw customers ( caucasian) come and get table in few minutes . I asked her whats going on. Her answer was they were here earlier. If one family did that I would understand, but 3 families in a row. My kids were really getting impatient. So I asked for takeout order. She took it with real attitude and told us 45 minutes. Since we were not according to their likeness, I decided to wait in the parking lot. 50 minutes later when we went in and asked for our food the girl replied it's not ready. I asked how long we have to wait she looked at the kitchen counter and replied I don't know. I asked for the manager,he first glanced at me and replied your order is not in yet. I told him we ordered more than an hour ago. He shrugged his shoulder and Replied," Listen, it is what it is, wait or leave." I was stunned. My daughters were shocked. Worst experience I've ever had. Went in for an afternoon lunch. Both my girlfriend's order and my order were completely wrong. Drinks took over 10 minutes to get. Waitress had an attitude when we tried to tell her that what she thought we ordered and what we actually order were 2 very different things. She brought my girlfriend fried chicken and gravy when she had ordered biscuits and gravy, took over 20 minutes to bring out dry, disgusting biscuits with the wrong gravy, by which time my already wrong order was cold. We love iHop and have been going occasionally since I was a kid. Your experience there depends on the individual restaurant. Food is consistently good, but this particular location is dirty and in need of renovation. It's one of the older ones with the kitchen front and center and it's not in great shape or clean. Two times in a row putting meat on my vegetarian girlfriends plate after a long wait with almost nobody in the restaurant.. then instead of leaving my food when remaking it my food was taken back then just sat on the counter to get cold while we waited.. never had to send back food personally but happening twice in a row here is sad after making it clear it couldn't be on the same plate.. Food was the only saving grace if this Ihop. Took 5 minutes to order our coffee then 15 to order our food after that. Tables around us were seated and served food before our order was even taken. Our waitress (Beth) was rude and could care less about how our meal was. First off i want to say this store is an older store, it could use a facelift, but the story i have is a great one 4/16/15 Today my wife's grandmother had a stroke, so we spent the day and into the night in a waiting room, we decided to stop and get ihop my niece has never had it, so we told her and she could not wait, so i arrived earlier then my wife, and she got there just as the location was supposed to close, the waitress and the cook talked to me while we waited and knew our story, they let us order food 15 mins after they should have closed the doors, we stayed until just about eleven eating our food, and were never rushed and were taken care of in a way you dont expect to find in this day and age , we thanked them from the bottom of our hearts and made sure to leave a good well deserved tip, This place may not be the best looking ihop in the world, but the people make the stop not the wall paper , this is a night i will never forget and a generosity that i thought until tonight had been forgotten in this world, BTW the berry french toast was amazing read more

On 17 July 2015 at 11:15am, we stop into this IHOP. Dirty table with old cold coffee in it. There is no A/C and it was about 90 degrees inside which made the restaurant hotter then the coffee. The outside temperate is 75 degrees. Ordered diet coke and got regular coke. Service was slow.... My order came out wrong, up charged to get fruit and got pancakes. When the fruit came out I got 4 small pieces of Mellon, 1 orange slice, 2 pineapple and one grape.. Which looks like it was frozen. My wife's order came out missing some of the order. To add to this, two loud talking rude ladies that were beside us was like sitting in the Jerry Springer show.... ( I could add more about these two, but that are not IHOP's fault).... Overall: dirty, hot, (which is great reviews for a stripper, but not a food place) food was not good and that is the end of this review. read more

I waited 15 minutes at a table just for water because no one came up to us to ask and then waited 30 minutes just to receive cold food and somehow I was waiting another 15 minutes just for a side of white toast that never came. Smallest pancakes I've ever had at an ihop ! How can the international house of pancakes short people of pancakes ? I've been to many IHOP's around the country especially in New York City and Upstate New York and this one I will never go too again it kind of reminds me of a trailer that serves breakfast probably my worst experience at any ihop. We're writing this review at a local diner. Why, you might ask? Because after spending 40 minutes sititting in a broken booth, in a freezing cold and filthy restaurant (AKA IHOP on wolf rd), it seemed like the only chance we had to get anything to eat. There were 3 orders ahead of us and 2 of the orders sat on the counter for over 10 minutes before anyone stopped wandering around and picked them up. Our table had dried food on it, the tile floor was gross and we walked out hungry and feeling like we needed a shower. There were heartier souls who had been waiting nearly an hour when we left. I really wish I would have read the reviews before coming here. This place is just all around gross. Had my toddler not been occupying my phone, I would have taken pictures. The carpet is no longer made of fabric but actually spilt food. They leave dust pans just sitting in the walkway next to the server station. The containers that hold the syrup for filling up the syrups at the tables didn't have lids on them. The server station which has the open butter container and other odds and ends is right there in the walk way for anyone to breathe on. I watched someone waiting for a to-go order literally lean over the butter with her coat hanging in it so she could ask the irritated cook a question. How the servers put up with the cooks is beyond me. I watched my server go back 4 times while I was eating asking the cook to redo the food he cooked. What's even worse was the owner of this particular franchise was walking around the whole time doing nothing. This place needs to be condemned. Ok, I grew up with IHOP. When I was young I could not believe you had your own syrup bottles with different flavors right at your table! And what yummy pancakes! Fast forward from 1970 to last week. What a sad, sorry experience. The place was nearly empty, about 2:30 on a weekday afternoon. Three of us were seated in a booth for two and we had to ask for a bigger spot. The waitress said ok, but she would have to go get silverware. Ok. We ordered quickly and then waited a good 15 minutes for our food to arrive. My over hard eggs were black and almost without recognition. The sausages were tiny shriveled pieces of cardboard. The bacon looked ok as well as the hash browns. I told the waitress that I couldn't eat this, and she asked me if I wanted to send it back. Ok. Meanwhile my daughter and her friend were scraping off a gallon of red strawberry goo from their stuffed french toast. So sweet and so much they couldn't eat much. Meanwhile the first of my endless pancakes arrived. Raw in the middle. Then my eggs arrived. Over medium, same cardboard sausage, now some raw bacon, and an oily mess of hash browns. And 2 more pancakes. I ate the pancskes, but the syrup lid was broken and fell onto my plate. The new managment has really turned this place around! My family and I went to breakfast here once before and it was awful, long, waits, messed up our order, sat at a dirty table, overworked staff. Granted the resturant itself is set up a bit cramped in one area but we just felt like we were always in someone's way while trying to eat the food we had been served rather than what we ordered. Fast forward almost a year and it's like a completely different place. We were able to come in get a table and enjoy our meal. We were served the food we ordered, well prepared and delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous even though we have two rambunctious little ones. After the meal the manager came to our table and asked how everything was. Such a great practice, keeping in touch with the customers. I also overheard the staff taking extra precautions to accommodate someone's food allergies. It was awesome to see them taking it so seriously and the willingness to go above and beyond for their guests. read more

Absolutely terrible! From the beginning we came in and waited to be seated for awhile and the staff didn't even bother saying, "we'll be right with you". Than we noticed the servers station in the main entrance. Tacky for my taste but my children wanted pancakes from IHOP so we stayed. Finally we where seated at a booth seat with no cushion once so ever. You sat and sunk into the booth. Looking at the carpet it was dirty and had food on it from previous customers. We happened to look up and noticed multiple water stains on the ceiling. And, the best part of it all was it was cold. So cold that other customers ate with their coats on! How do you run a restaurant without heat? And, the staff didn't even seem to notice or didn't care. Anyway, one server came and took our drink orders assuming she was our server but nope another took our food order. Both seemed confused with our orders. The food came and even my children didn't want to eat it. Soggy pancakes for everyone. Nonetheless, it was disgusting. We didn't bother finishing. My husband took our children to the car and I paid our $50.00 bill to eat disgusting food in a filthy environment. If you truly want IHOP go to the one in Orange County. That IHOP is clean, service is excellent and the food is delicious. This place should be condemned. It's a wonder how they haven't failed for health inspections. Save your money and eat elsewhere. This place has been declining in service for the last year or so. The last time I went to this IHOP I brought my husband, father and daughter. The place was almost empty without only about 6 tables occupied. We waited 15 minutes before our waitress even took our drink orders. After waiting over 30 min for our food, we decided to leave just as the waitress was bringing our cold food over. As we were getting into the car we spoke to the District manager (Who was there because of a sewage/main line problem) I told him why I was leaving. He didn't even almost try to stop me, instead said "Yeah, I'm not surprised, I've been getting a lot of complaints about this place." Really!? I was at this location, it was busy, waitress did a decent job despite that, however, the pot of coffee which was on the table before we arrived, was not good, waitress was too busy for me to say anything to, upon paying I voiced my displeasure to the cashier who then called a manager over who refused to remove the $5.18 charge for the coffee because we did not voice our concerns to the server. Bottom line is because this manager did not do the right I will not return to this location. Too bad for them as I used to dine there several times a year. Loved I hop use to go all the time. The ones in Florida are nice, the one they closed on Central Ave. was wonderful. This place was the dirtiest place I've been in in a long time. Let me say I am a visiting nurse so I can say this, been in some places that need to be condemed. WHERE IS THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH. Tables are dirty, menus are dirty, people serving food and cooking are dirty. No hand washing going on there. Served the wrong order and cold toast after 45 minute wait and they weren't that busy. Manager came and said he was sorry wanted to know what he could do? I pointed out the spit food on the back of the booth and he said he understood but had to get back and cook to stop the bleeding. So I was not alone. Bet 5 dollars if I went back the booth would still have the spit food on it. I have never complained or requested a reduction on a bill. NEVER!!!!!! They did not charge us for the food which I didn't request but I only had a few bites of the eggs and toast they remade. They were out of orange juice and out of tea. Unreal The floors and booths are beyond filthy. I could see a case of food poisoning coming into the ER from this place. Believe the reviews! First let me say I never write reviews. I eat out a lot and this had to be one of the worst experiences I've had. First of all the place is too little for a Franchise Name like I-HOP. It is nothing but a hole in the wall. We had people sitting in the waiting area waiting to be called, while there were at least 4 empty booths. It appeared no one was really in charge or knew how to expedite things to make things run a little more efficient. I had to mention to one of the employees that people were waiting and there were empty booths, she appeared to catch an attitude. I ordered coffee and was provided sugar in a cup, because apparently they didn't have packets. We waited approximately 40mins for our food. I ordered a T-Bone Steak Medium-Raw, it came well done, My Son Ayden ordered French Toast with Strawberries and Bananas, He was given Whacked up Pancakes with Strawberries and Bananas. My Finance food was also cold. Just an all around bad experiences and waste of money. I'll probably call corporate headquarters tomorrow and file a compliant, that's how bad this experience was. I often travel to the Albany, NY area for business and make it a priority to eat at this particular ihop. I have always been beyond pleased with their friendly and fast service along with their cleanliness which is huge for me. I hate going into restaurants where it is obvious the bathroom has not had any attention in hours. Before or after my meal, I like to experience a clean bathroom and this is one of the few places that can guarantee that for me. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant is a huge plus too. Whenever my colleagues are traveling to this area, I suggest this ihop and email them the address. Not one of my colleagues nor have I ever been disappointed. I am surprised by the comments below as I have never had a bad experience. The staff is mature and professional about their work and deliver fast but quality service.
