Spending a weekend away in the Lake George / Berkshires area with the hubby and wanted to find somewhere to try, stopped in after jumping on Yelp to find somewhere close that was cute with decent food. Decided to give a try. The place is a total vibe, dont let the outside and area fool you! It had been a long day by the time we got here, did the outlets all day long and I was coming down with a cold. Ordered a ton of apps, Crab rangoon dip is GOOOOOODDDD!!!!... Ordered Calamari that apparently I didnt get a pic of, but It was good also. I think we got wings, but I truly cant remember. I got the risotto, I didnt love it but the Shrimp were delish, it had a super strong after taste flavor that I didnt love but couldnt truly put my finger on, Hubby said his pasta was good, but just needed "something". Would def go back just not sure how often we'd be in the area. Drink menu was super extensive and they were great as well. Started to feel not well and literally had to take our food to go, the waitress was soo concerned and caring, it was great, and it was no fault of the food or theirs, I think it was just whatever cold I was coming down with that kicked my ass and I felt like I was going to pass out, sorry TMI... But the response was so nice and accommodating from the staff. We had a reservation Saturday evening before visiting the Egg. The host was super duper friendly and he immediatelly brought us to a small two top in the back dining area. The wine by the glass list was limited and fifty percent was vegan. I ordered the Mosen German Reisling which is more sweet than I prefer but there were no other options. My guy ordered a brown beer on tap, i'm unsure the name. We started with appetizers crab rangoon dip with crispy delicious wonton chips. And the second mozzarella eggrolls. I would pass on the eggrolls im the future. The motz is advertised smoked but lacked a smoky flavor. The Harissa had the spice level simular to Heinz ketchup. My entree was a Cuban sandwich that did deliver some heat, well pressed with plenty of pickles. Cooper Crowe has the best happy hour in the cap region. Half-priced drafts and $10 cocktails. You can't beat it especially as a beer person. They have friendly staff and the owners are lovely. Highly recommend. Food is creative and good! read more

First they are very nice folks here so understand it's not a personality issue but our server checked on us once well after our meals arrived. We both ordered the Pan seared filet medium rare and it came out medium well. Not even sure it was a Filet. It was thin for a filet. The mashed potatoes arrived cold and had some large undercooked not mashed not fully cooked bits in them. I would not dine in again. No apologies for the bad cooked meals. They did take off one of them the bill. Perhaps it was just an off night. We have lots of other choices so we can amicably part ways :-) Hope you do better for others and wish you success. read more

What a great place (one of the few that were open on a Monday.) good bartenders, friendly server who gave wonderful recommendations, the street corn pasta was amazing, the Rangoon dip was a cool variation but not my fav. And the schnitzel was a little dry and over fried but the construction of the dish was good. Really enjoy the happy hour at this spot, great drink specials and we usually share some delicious appetizers as well. Plus the added convenience of having a dedicated parking lot downtown is a huge plus! The ambiance is perfect for a date night or friendly cocktails. Just down the street from Nipper is the Copper Crow. We found this place by searching for good cocktails in Albany on Yelp and Yelp did not let us down! We loved the cocktails! The Blackberry Sour was great and I love that they use aquafaba (essentially chickpea water) instead of egg whites in the cocktails ( the whole egg white in drinks thing just doesn't sit right with me). I also enjoyed the Rose is a Rose with gin, elderflower and guava nectar- light and refreshing. The atmosphere is also really cool and unique with stained glass, an interesting mix of plants and mid century furniture. I would definitely come back here, mainly for the cocktails and maybe some apps. We enjoyed the steamers and the bread a lot. The sauce was excellent. I had some croquettes which were okay. The green salad was nice and a good portion but not particularly memorable. We also got this eggplant appetizer, but this was the only thing that we did not like. Our group of three could barely eat 1/4 of it. I was surprised our server didn't inquire if there was something wrong because it was pretty obvious we didn't like it. They did seem in a bit of a hurry to turn tables over and we felt a little rushed even though it didn't seem super busy. Parking available in a small lot at the restaurant. My friend suggested we go here for my birthday celebration. We got there for happy hour and the drinks were great. We were seated shortly after. I ordered the crab stuffed haddock and it did not disappoint. It was savory and cooked to perfection. I would definitely go back again for a dinner date. My friend was being sexually harassed by a woman at the bar. He was uncomfortable and said he was not interested. She grabbed his ass, kept touching him, and would not leave him alone. I went and told a bartender who acted confused and then asked "wait, is your friend a girl or guy?" Making it seem like if it was a man it's not harassment. When I told him it was my male friend he said "Honestly, I don't know what I can do." Feels like crappy bartending on top of backwards thinking. Stopped in for lunch on a bright sunny day. My husband accompanied me even though he wasn't sure I would like the lighting there. He was right. I found the lighting to be a bit too dark. The manager and bartender, Trudy, was very understanding. She pointed out that it might take some time for my eyes to adjust since it was so bright outside. She was very nice and she was right. I think it's just me. No one else seemed concerned about lighting but I chose a seat at the bar where the lighting was a bit brighter. It seems late lunches are popular at Copper Crow. More and more people arrived after we placed our orders. The menu is influenced by cuisines around the world though the majority are Asian inspired. There's a global atmosphere here. A lot of song choices were in French, including La Vie en Rose. It was fun. I speak enough French to understand most of the songs. I ordered a falafel salad and a Bud Light. The salad was very fresh. The falafel was crispy. The portions were generous. I took half of it home. We asked about brunch. Trudy said there are plans to begin offering brunch. Perhaps by the end of February. Out door dining, a little bit pricy and a longer than expected wait for service but all well worth it when considering the delicious food. Favorites include the Duck Banh Mi Shredded duck confit, which, per their menu is a house duck proscuitto, pâté de foie, cilantro, daikon salad, fried lotus & taro chips. Great combination of sweet, savory, with just a touch of sour. Quaffed with a Bavarian ABT which is both a 10% alcohol content and rich in a good way that doesn't fight you on the way down or over power you with a bitter or sweet aroma. My vegetarian partner was suprised by how delicious their Manchurian Cauliflower Bites (V, GF) were. While possibly able to someday mimic the sweet & hot Manchurian sauce, I am not sure we could ever get the texture of this crispy fried cauliflower right. Worth a visit for sure. read more

My dinner here was a delight to several senses... taste for certain, I enjoyed the decor, and I similarly enjoyed the background music until the restaurant filled up and background noise diminished it. Their innovations with regard to flavors and presentation kept my taste buds excited and happy. Their drink menu has just about anything you could want as well, be it an interesting crafted cocktail, a beer from a large selection, as well as a large list of pours of whiskies as well as other liquors - even absinthe and pernod! Though I do feel the whiskey pours (2 oz.) were a bit above average asking price. The Thai Beef small plate we shared to start felt more like a medium plate, easily satisfying 2 or maybe 3 as an appetizer. Our dinners carried that momentum, with quality, taste, presentation, and intriguing flavors. Of my own dinner, the Venezuelan Asado Negro, I was hooked on the chili lime sauce accompanying the cauliflower, and I wound up having to try it on everything. The Korean ribs are quite spicy, but I was more intrigued by the "kimchi'd collards," words I had never used together before (and never Kimchi as an adjective, lol). Service was pleasant, nothing out of the ordinary, I suspect my server may have been fairly new (but right on point). But everyone was professional and friendly. Overall this was, for me, a top-notch experience and a restaurant to which I hope to return frequently. read more

This was our first time here. The hostess was very welcoming and brought us right to our table. We ordered a blackberry sour and chocolate martini, both were great! We had the brussel sprouts for a starter, I thought they were a little dry and needed a glaze or something added to them. For our mains, we had the Korean bbq short rib with spicy dirty rice, collard green kimchi, and corn bread as well as crab stuffed haddock with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The corn bread was burnt, but that didn't ruin it. The short rib was tasty and tender. The description had 2 pepper icons for spice level and it held true! The haddock was light, flavorful and the crab only enhanced it. Our only gripe was that we waited quite some time for our mains after the appetizer with the place not having many people at the time we were there. Came here for the first time. Entree was very good. I got the schnitzel and it was enormous, enough for at least 2 meals. Five stars. Dessert - key lime pie. Not very good. It's served as a single-serving tart, and the custard filing was entirely runny. I assume that's the intent, but it was unappetizing. I love key lime pie so this was sad. Atmosphere - while relaxed, the entire interior is hard surfaces making it extremely loud - so loud that it's tiresome to hold much of a conversation after a while. Took an hour and a half to get our entrees. Food was good and the atmosphere was great but we ended up having to ask where our appetizers were to even get them. We ended up leaving before we got our entrees because it was taking so long and people in our party were hungry. We asked multiple waitresses for updates on our food with little to no answer. Other parties who were seated after us got their food first. The manager was kind about it but we were extremely disappointed in the service, especially having been here and enjoyed it previously. If you've seen any of my previous reviews, you might know that I am a huge fan of Savoy Taproom. The owner, Jason, is truly amazing and his visions are brought to life with Savoy and now his new venture, The Copper Crow. I really wish tonight wasn't my first visit, I should have been here weeks ago. One of the areas where Savoy shines is cocktails, and The Copper Crow mirrors that exactly. Many of my favorite cocktails at Savoy are also on the menu here, along with other new varieties. Bottom line - if you're coming here, order a signature cocktail. I could rant on the entire review about the Whiskey Sour, but reference my Savoy review if you want to, it's the best drink I have EVER had. And the exactly same drink is served here without any loss of quality or flavor. I had three whiskey cocktails and they all blew me away. Sour, Manhattan, and the Gates of Hell. Let's focus on the food, the vision here is fusion and every dish reflects that. The menu is exciting, inviting, and trust me the flavors deliver. I started with the prize winning Newport chowder, it is an herb forward creamy and dreamy fish chowder. Do not come in with expectations of a regular old clam chowder, the soup brings strong flavors of dill, herbs and fish. It was surprising and unique. As a soup fanatic, I was impressed. For a shared starter, my fiancé and I shared the wonton rolls, a twist on mozzarella sticks, but wrapped in a wonton wrapper and served with a harissa marinara. Again, I appreciated and loved the unique twist on the dish. I forgot a photo of this one! For mains, I went small and got the Bone Marrow Bruchetta. it was a crusty bread, spread with bone marrow and topped with mozzarella and tomato. I had wished the dish was served with the actual bone and marrow, but this was still delicious. The flavors were bold and it was like a twist on pizza flavors. I think the star of the night might have been my fiancés entree, the Street Corn Pasta. Wow. A creamy sauce enveloped the perfectly cooked fettuccini, and topped with cotija, peppers, cilantro, corn, and all the flavors you want for street corn. I chose this for him since he can be picky, but he absolutely loved it. I stole a few bites and I agree, phenomenal. My table of five all left completely happy and full. The portions were notable large and amazing for the quality. We all left with to go boxes. Prices were reasonable, drinks add up but honestly they are so worth it for a splurge. The Copper Crow is large, open, spacious, and the perfect place to catch up with friends and cocktails. I can't wait to return, and hopefully you'll be there soon too! read more

We were in the Albany area n came upon copper crow on Yelp w great t Reviews n thought we'd try it. Sure enough it was great n they accommodated us last minute. Nice restaurant w friendly staff n plenty of parking. We started off w the fried smelts which was a special , Newport chowder, Israeli falafel salad n duck Bao buns. The soups was so good w generous amount of seafood. The corn meal coatedfried smelts w dipping sauce was delicious too. The salad was a generous portion and could have been shared by two and the yoghurt tahini sauce was a great accompaniment to it. And the duck Bao buns were good too. And for entrees we had the street corn pasta, risotto fungi and the duck bahn mi. All very yummy n generous portions that were enjoyed by us. Since we had stuffed ourselves w the small plates we wanted to try the deserts too n had plenty of LO's for home. Tried the chocolate mousse cake, kelya muluk n the fried Oreos. The choc mousse cake n fried Oreos were very good. The kelya muluk was ok. Didn't taste banana in it. Overall amazing dinner. Thanks copper crow. This place is amazing! I miraculously stumbled upon it when googling "dinner" when visiting from out of town. What I found was a warm, wonderful bar and restaurant, with an EPIC bourbon selection. On top of that, their Filet is to DIE for. I've had it three times, and it's always perfectly cooked (mid rare). It comes with perfectly crispy Brussels sprouts, great mashed potatoes, and a bleu cheese butter over the steak that totally takes it over the top. Hats off to the owner Jason, the bartender Bill, and the great chef I spoke to tonight with the hat! Have loved every visit so far.
