I came in and was greeted quickly and kindly. they sat us in a booth, and immediately our server was there with a very beautiful smile, and warmly asked us for our drinks. a few minutes later we had our order taken. it wasnt long at all before our food was on our table. it was hot and amazing. and couldnt have asked for a better outcome. thank you IHOP. read more

It was maybe 1.5 months ago but I came in and it took about 10 minutes to get seated. Ordered waters and coffee. Took another 15 minutes to get water. Was told kitchen was backed up and they'd get our orders in 20 minutes or so. Was there over an hour and still no one would take our order. We were Travelling and kept getting told a reasonable wait time until we'd be taken care of but it never happened. We were also told there was a leak in the kitchen roof which didn't seem food safe. Well over an hour wasted in an IHOP and we ended up having to do McDonald's breakfast so we could get on the road. Ended up being late, we should have given up on IHOP sooner. The menu is the same as every other IHOP. We like to eat here for the senior discounts and because they let us substitute a side salad for a healthier option. We always get good service at the Emporia IHOP. Ask if there is a BOGO on weekday afternoons. read more

My husband and have been eating dinner at the IHOP in Emporia, KS once a week for the past four weeks. We are very impressed with the better service and quality of food then had been in the past. Every time we have eaten there these past four weeks, we are greeted promptly to be seated, promptly and courteously, had our order taken and food was delivered in timely manner, warm and good. The main two servers have been Marissa and Leon. They have provided super service over the past four weeks. The manager (I did not get her name), also greeted us on several occasions to make sure everything was OK and to see if we needed anything. I highly recommend eating at IHOP Emporia, KS. Walked into this total ghost town of an IHOP at 8pm Thursday. After a couple minutes a young man emerged from the kitchen and invited me to sit at a dirty table. After asking for a clean table got retabled only to discover how sticky and unclean the menu appeared. Gross Inquired about the advertised Thursday-specific entree deal and the server found himself unable to answer in an informed manner. When I politely asked how to make a worthwhile dining decision based on his lack of knowledge the response only showed further ignorance. Then he got attitude because I wasted his valuable time by deciding to leave. Has anyone else noticed how lower wage workers expect more pay while refusing to perform at a level worthy of higher wages? Walked into a clean restaurant waited to be seated. No one at the desk where it states wait to be seated. Sat down after a few minutes and received our water and coffee in a short time. Gave our breakfast order but it seemed to take an extremely long time for a breakfast with a restaurant with few customers. My husband asked for onions in his hash browns and when we received his dish the was a small amount of grilled onions on top. When we got the bill it was shocking to see a charge of $1.79 for those onions I know there is a charge but that was excessive. read more

The food is good but it has gone downhill a lot, do went have nearly the choices for pancakes and waffles. The many flavors that I used to be provided with in syrups are now gone, only one or two now and very limited quantities. There seems to be an IHOP on every corner of a small town and even off the interstate. It's mid afternoon and needing substance I stopped at one of the places I never stop. Pulling open the menu -- I see it has been updated. There are loads of choices, but I settled on over easy eggs, bacon, hash browns and buttered toast--the traditional. I am hoping it's hot and fresh. Just as I figured the food is good, not spectacular, but something to keep your stomach from rumbling. The service here was amazing! Our server, Katie, was super nice and helpful. She was patient while we looked for our orders, and even helped suggest an item that the kids enjoyed. She asked us if we were finding everything alright in a timely manner, and brought us our food quickly. The food was delicious, definitely recommend getting the new york cheesecake pancakes! The ihop in this area's food is great. That being said, the waiting staff is not great. There were maybe four individuals working. They took orders without notepads which caused them to mess up the orders. There were people in the back yelling "if she shows her face here I'm going to bash her f-ing head in" at the top of their lungs while we tried to eat. Would not recommend. read more

If I could give more than five stars, I would. The IHOP in Emporia, KS is amazing! The GM, Dawn, went above and beyond for me recently. IHOP is looking to get into catering and I had an event in Emporia at 6:15 am. Dawn asked employees to come in early to make food, found a delivery person and made sure the food was AMAZING. The people at my event loved it and were very impressed with the yummy food. If you need to cater an event, this IHOP really shines. The staff is courteous, and follows through on every request. I'm impressed. I cater many events, and Dawn's actions (with the help of her great employees) really made my event shine. Dawn and her team represent the IHOP brand well and are great to work with. I will use them every time I am in Emporia or the surrounding areas. read more

05 / 11 / 2021- evening: Me & my wife only. Resturant had maybe 8 tables / booths that had customers w/ no big groups. Ordered chicken strips for both of us, she had buffalo style. Side order of oinion rings which were obviously of frozen grocery store variety. My order arrived at least 10 minutes prior to wife's. Both were not very tasty, very tough. Buffalo style appears to be different only by them being soaked in hot sauce. Beverages served in kid size glasses, filled w/ ice, which results in frequent refills. I went to the Commercial Street Diner and it was closed so this was the only breakfast place that I knew of. I ordered the "Split Decision" which included two bacon strips, two sausage links, two eggs, two half slices of French toast, and two pancakes. I told the waitress not to bring the two pancakes as I would not eat them. I got the pot of coffee and only had one cup. I ordered the eggs medium and they were over easy at best. In my opinion it was too expensive for what you get. $13.00 including the tip. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

They are not enforcing CDC guidelines or making people wear masks into or out of the restaurant. They say our large group at a 4 person table and just brought up extra chairs and made us cram into it. They took 45+ minutes to bring our food and when they did a lot of it was wrong. They kept forgetting to bring our silverware, and disappeared into the back and didn't come out for long periods of time. There were multiple other issues but those are a few to sum it up. read more

Well, after a year and a half, my daughter talked me into giving the Emporia IHOP another chance. I must say, there was a 100 percent improvement.
