Arrived about 7:00 am on Saturday morning, it was not busy. Jennifer was our sweet server. They have a pretty big menu. We decided on biscuit and gravy, and a steak omelette made with fresh eggs, and pancakes. The omelette was great. Fresh and meat was tender. Pancakes were fluffy and we got the strawberry syrup to go with it. When we poured it on it did not look all that great, but the syrup tasted fresh and no artificial taste to it at all. There was 3 people waiting to be seated when we walked in. The place was empty. After the 3 finally got seated, we still had to wait another 5-10mins to be seated. A woman came from the back, talked to a walk-in customer who was waiting for a call in. She continued to talk to her about random things, while we were still waiting to be seated. My husband and I went in for a late breakfast and our server was okay until she gave us our food. After she gave us our food she was near the kitchen just talking to other staff and never brought the milk my husband ordered with his meal. She then proceeded to walk outside around the building for a smoke break. We ate and finished our meal without her checking on us since she was outside. She also never gave us any refills during our visit. She was gone for around 10 minutes and my husband had to get up and go near the kitchen to find a server to ask for our ticket that we had been waiting on. The server then said I'll go and get her from outside. When our sever returned she said sorry for the wait and smelt of fresh cigarette smoke. There were two other booths attached to ours and they were both waiting on their food while she was outside. If she wanted to take a smoke break she should have atleast gotten another server to cover for her instead of leaving 3 tables with no one around. We will not be returning to this IHOP. The food was okay. We were going to another restaurant, but saw that there were hardly any cars in IHOP's lot and stopped here do we could enjoy each others company. We were seated in the east end with no one else in our area. Our waitress was great. Left her a large tip on the receipt. The shift changed. The next couple was seated next to us. They were very loud and we could hardly hear each other. There were over a dozen tables in that end. Why they were seated next to us is beyond me. Our replacement server chose to ignore us, not a hello or refill, why bother, the other server had already left with the tip when we paid? I was feeling kinda bad for him and was going to leave him a tip anyway, but considering the service he provided (none), the tip was proportionate. When our waitress went to talk to the manager to have her help us out Lindsey came over and threw our waitress under the bus. She was talking bad about her staff and was just not kind. The waitress never came back to see How our food was.. lol which is a must in server industry. I will also be posting this on yelp and google because people need to know what's going on at this ihop. We were seated and given our menus one of which was the "under 10 dollar" menu plus we noticed several posters that said "kids eat free from 4-10 everyday from the kids menu" so we ordered from the under 10 menu and the waitress couldn't find the items on her iPad so she asked a manager and the manager said that menu isn't available on the weekends. It literally says "everyday" on the menu and she gave it to us so the waitress had us pick something else the manager didn't even have the decency to come out and tell us there self even the waitress agreed with us. So we picked out something else and we ate no problems there. When we checked out the total was 53.89 from ihop #1913. We were standing 2 feet from a poster that said kids eat free from 4-10 and it was about 6:00-6:15 pm and they charged us for everyone of those kids meals. I asked the waitress pointing at the poster "all the kids ate from the kids menu so why are we being charged" to which she replied "I don't know anything about that, would you sign this and here is the tip info" and she didn't know how to print a receipt so guess what no receipt. We were all tired from traveling and yard work all day so we just paid and left. I told my wife about what they did and she was mad. I am a teacher so we don't have a lot of money, I teach in a low income school so a lot of people depend on ihop honoring there sales posters and menus they hand out. Why does this ihop not honor the "kids eat free from 4-10 every night ? And why give out a menu that you can't order from that literally says the items are available "everyday" ?false advertising and very misleading and just wrong to do to family's that need that extra money. The 10 min wait to get anyone to notice us should have been a red flag. The wait was ridiculous, tables needed to be bussed and employees playing on their phone and goofing off hanging Christmas decor, wrapping a fellow employee in red tinsel, all while people are waiting for checks and food. This restaurant should be inspected by the health department it is literally falling down. Front door pull almost came off when we opened the door. Screws were stripped out. The inside of the building was worn and really could have used s good cleaning The men's restroom was fairly clean but the door was scrapping on the floor and was badly out of alignment Food was only fair. Ordered the veggie omelet and it came very dry and chewy as in over cooked. Hash browns were just a little dab on an extra plate. And HOP in incapable of finding even reasonably bad servers. Not to mention, as with the reviewer who could not get soft scrambled eggs, I tried to get sunny side up eggs. You just put eggs in the pan with a little butter (hopefully), cook them until the white is done and slide them onto a plate. They had not even started cooking my food until I got there. I never received one apology from the wait staff for making me wait. If you're ever lucky enough to get a seat in the place cuz apparently they don't have a hostess to seat people so you're stuck there waiting for 30 to 45 minutes before you even get put on a list to be seated. If you have the patience to last that long then good luck getting an order placed because it takes your waitress/waiter another 30 to 45 minutes before they even come over there to get your drink order. There's probably another 10 minute wait before you get your drinks and then probably another 15 to 20 minute wait before you can get to place an order on food. Typically, I visit IHOP on weekend mornings. We usually have pretty good service and generous, above average fare. My last visit was on a weekday afternoon and frankly, it was awful. I ordered my regular Michacha. It arrived with no meat, cheese or salsa. The portion was about 1/5 th of the plate compared to the usual 2/3 plate. The waitress kept habging around and chit chatting when we just wanted a few minutes to talk with friends. When we were ready to settle up and go, there was no cashier to be had. I think my experience was an exception but if you plan to visit this IHOP, I'd do it during the busy morning hours when the staff has it together. read more
