Driving across the state, we stopped to take our older friend out to breakfast. Unfortunately we waited over an hour at our table before we were able to get our drinks. He even joked to me that he was glad he brought his own drink because he couldn't have waited that long without it. A few tables came in, sat, ordered, ate, and left before we got our food. The staff running around seemed to be trying to take care of tables but it was pretty disorganized. I know they have a sign up for "now hiring" so I'm assuming they are understaffed, but my unsolicited advice is to not sit tables you can't serve. Once we did get our food the sandwich was soggy and the breakfast items were cold. I'll give credit that the pancakes were hot and weren't bad. Overall a rough visit. Usually work to avoid most chains and fast food spots in favor of local, mom and pop options, and would recommend trying somewhere else. read more

My husband and I drove in from out of town to take our friend to breakfast. We waited over an hour to get our drinks.... which were 2 waters and a coffee. It was close to 2 hours before we got our food. When we did it was cold and sub-par. I will say that the power protein pancakes were tasty. The Cali turkey sandwich was not good at all and honestly hard to get through. We asked for a high chair twice and never got one. I did appreciate that the manager came over after 1.5 hours of us not receiving our food to apologize... but that didn't make us less hungry. We also had a baby with us, so it was hard to have him sit there for our 2 hour visit. My sandwich came with avocado, so I asked for a little on the side to feed to the baby. The server told me there was no avocado in the kitchen. My sandwich arrived with avocado. When I asked again about extra for the baby, she said they only had enough for my sandwich. Odd, but ok. She came back 10 min later with a little bowl of avocado slices for the baby. I appreciated her going back to check again. However, when she set down the bowl, I noticed there were avocado chunks all under her nails and on her fingertips.... So I didn't really want to feed it to my baby anymore.... We were never so disappointed...We arrived and we were seated rather quickly, The server was quick to take the drink order. WE noticed a few minutes later the table next to us has gotten their for and the man asked for silverware and a cup of gravy. They got silverware and another server approached, the man said to her he was waiting on gravy, to which she said it is on its way, I just saw her putting some in the microwave. Needless to say, it never arrived. Our food was FINALLY brought to the table; it was so cold that the butter on the pancakes and waffles never even started to melt when placed on them. Everything was cold. At about that time the man next to us asked to speak to a manager, they ended up taking his order off the bill for him. This manager disappeared rather quickly. They were NOT overly busy at this time. We ask for a manager and another person comes out of the back, he replaced the order for us and it did come back hot. However, these pancakes, which you would expect to be pretty good because after all...This is the International House of Pancakes. This was just not the case. Unfortunately, this location has gone way downhill since we had been there, it is very safe to say we will not be going back to IHOP in Heath Ohio. They did give a 50% discount on the bill but honestly it was not even worth that amount. Think twice, we will go to Bob Evans or Big Apple Cafe next time. The tomatoes were suppose to be cherry tomatoes but they were slimy, soggy diced tomatoes with core pieces in it. The eggs were suppose to be egg whites and it wasn't. The fruit pieces were slimy and bad and some had mold. When I first got there I went to the bathroom and as I was walking out of the bathroom the server was asking what I wanted to drink. I wasn't even at the table and I felt rushed. The ambiance of bad food and poor service makes me never want to return to this location. It took 7 minutes after getting seated for the waitress to come take our drink order, by which time we were ready to place our food order. I ordered the original French toast with a side of bacon (2 pieces). My child ordered the Junior Cupcake Pancake Combo. French toast was a very large serving. I could only eat half. Very fluffy, good flavor and not overcooked. Two pieces of limp bacon for $3.50 not worth it. I wouldn't order a side of bacon if I go back. My child loved her cupcake pancake combo. We were visiting this area for my kid's soccer tournaments. We stopped in between games. We eat at IHOP in our town, but not a lot. We have to say the service was superb. The moment we walked in, we were greeted right away. They even took the time to make personable conversation. There was no wait and they were very attentive. While I was waiting for my food, another diner started yelling for service. She kept yelling, being very obnoxious, until Haley let her know that she would be with her as soon as possible (she was serving food to a table at the time). Haley went over and apologized to the woman, explained that she was the only one on the floor at the moment and asked how she could help. The diner continued to be rude but Haley stayed calm and professional. Not only was my food great, but the service and prices were great as well. The side walk leading to the front door had several (at least 4) Ihop to-go beverage containers littering the walk. It looked like someone had dropped their carrier and no one bothered to pick it up. Our order arrived quickly and was accurate. The food was all good. I would have liked my scrambled eggs cooked a bit more but they were still good. Only 2 drawbacks. One, the decaf coffee was so weak I thought it was just hot water. Terrible. This was the first time this had happened. Two, a long hair was inside my menu and another was stuck to the bottom of the coffee pot. None was in the food. It was a little unappetizing. Trying to get back to some degree of normalcy after COVID-19. Last week we were at another restaurant that did a great job of making us feel protected with limited seating and staff wearing face masks. This iHop not so much. Regular seating, poorly cleaned booths (I had to wipe food off the seat before we sat down) and more than half the staff wearing their masks under their chins continuously. 4 different people delivered our food and 3 of them weren't wearing their masks properly. Finally we were seated waited about another 10minutes to give drink order came back 5 minutes later with our drinks husbands was wrong but was afraid to send it back it may take too long to get another one. The waitress came back a few minutes later took our food order and it was over an hour from the time we walked in the door until we received our meals. The table behind us had been there a good 30 minutes before there order was even taken by a different waitress. There was seriously 6 waitresses working and 6 tables service should have been amazing but we weren't offered refills or even checked on from the time we ordered our food to the time we actually got it.
