Typical franchise restaurant. Decor is what you would expect when walking in. I read reviews of bad bathrooms just now, but I did not use any of the bathrooms. My fiancée did, but she did not complain about them. The waitress was an older woman, she was sweet and very accommodating to our food order. She was there the right amount of times, not too much and not too little. I ordered the chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, over easy eggs and a side of pancakes. My only concern was the chicken fried steak. It didn't seem to be cooked thoroughly, but it was edible. The rest was good. My fiancée ate just about all my pancakes, LOL. #84/2022 This is really 3.5 I'm going to go up it to the four. I haven't been to this particular IHOP probably in about over 10 years I usually go different places when I'm in the Morris area most of the time I'm usually just on interstate 80 hammer down for Iowa having usually ate prior. But this time I happen to be across the street at the pilot and I thought I want to have a nice sit-down breakfast and I only have the tractor I'm headed home so I thought I'll come over here and eat. This is an older IHOP since right next to a hotel which is change names many times through the years and is directly behind the Chicago area giant Costco distribution center here in Morris Illinois. Approximately 20 minutes as crow flies from Joliet Illinois. There's a small little independent fuel stop where you can park the truck at they charge for parking overnight 10 bucks which is reasonable they shut down tonight but most bigger truck stops for safe secure parking are about 15 to 20 bucks a night I do get reimbursed unless I'm not home time so I don't worry too much about it. So I pulled in walked over noticed that they had their holiday hours on the door and this is one of the older IHOPs it is a very large IHOP inside it's got quite a bit of acreage compared to some tiny ones now. I was greeted by James immediately it was very professional and jovial you can see he likes his work and then the waitress came and I ordered up some coffee. Something I noticed though when I looked into the condiment section there was no Splenda. I thought maybe they had it behind the counter cuz there was the pink and the blue but no yellow she said nope we're having trouble with our supplier we can't get any for almost over a month or more now for some reason they're not sending it we put it on the order we don't get it. here in this post covid modern world we're now living in there's a lot of things that you find aren't there that you normally used to rely on having so you learn to adapt How do I adapt I buy 500 packs of Splenda at a time in a box and stick it on the shelf in the truck so if there's no Splenda hey we got it covered I got my Splenda Kevin's a happy camper. Having had prior before at various ones: the swedish crepes I decided I wanted them again. So I ordered them up knowing it'll come with a little bit of butter Ligonberries little powdered sugar and cuz I was feeling like a pig I ordered the full order of bacon side too. Food came out quite quick it looked delicious it tasted delicious the crepes were excellent nice light thin the way they should be little extra on the butter but I was easy to move to the side and the bacon was perfect nicely done just a little bit of crunch to it. However the reason I'm holding it really three and a half Stars One is because the bathrooms could use a little cleaning they're not really quite up on the ball per hour checking on them they were okay but they could have definitely used a little sprucing I'll leave it at that.. they were usable though don't get me wrong they weren't unusable. Lol So knowing that I could roll my truck in and walk over here during their business hours I definitely will when I have a taste for IHOP not think twice about coming in if I'm in the Morris area and getting some food here I prefer IHOP for breakfast or brunch I'm not big on their dinners they're okay in a pinch if it's ihop or McDonald's but it's just sort of depends on that particular day but I do like for breakfast. Like many there I hoppy hour continues on I got there a little bonus thing here we can get your bank your pancakes and stuff I'm not into that stuff I got enough to keep track of with other kinds of apps. All in all though I was quite satisfied and definitely very pleased with the food which is what really matters the belly was happy. read more

Greetings from Morris, IL. I had planned on stopping at a local diner, but not only did I turn the wrong way, I was in the wrong lane. So, I ended up at IHOP. The place was pretty crowded, but getting seated and placing my order was quick. I ordered the Rooty Tooty Fresh-n-Fruity (peaches) Pancakes. Well, the cakes were served hot 8-) , but the peaches were not only on the cool side, they were a bit hard. And, there were only 6 of 'em (very difficult to make 6 peach slices go far on a 3 stack of cakes). The staff was friendly And courteous. And, the Wi-Fi was strong. Not only do they get 3 Stars for an inadequate amount of fruit, but the guy in the booth behind me made it impossible to sit properly (he was worse than the kid who kicks your seat in the theater, or on the plane). So, for only the 2nd time in my entire life, I moved to another table. And at that one, I had to shift my seating because the springs were poking me. read more

This is the WORST IHOP I've ever seen!!!!! At least three waitresses AND the General Manager working. There were about four tables with people at them. My table didn't even have all the syrup and waitress made no attempt. It took three of us IVER 10 minutes to pay, and 2 guys waited over 10 min to get seated and then got up and left because they put them in the back at a dirty table (note they took them to that area because the main area had no clean tables) No idea where the GM was. She surfaced for a bit in her pink tank top sporting her healthy collection of tattoos! (NO objection to tats or those who have them-point is that she looked unprofessional as all get out) After I finally paid, I went to restroom where I was greeted by full trash can and urine looked under the urinal! Came in hungry and was ready to order everything with my friend. After sitting down, we waited for over 30 minutes and nobody came to take our order. I looked at the waitress couple of times as she was barely coming in the room, she looked back, noticed us but never came to ask if we need anything or the finally take our order. We did noticed though that she was constantly in the kitchen chatting and laughing with the cook. After 30 minutes we decided to leave and go to Chili's across the street. Went 2 days ago for lunch. Only giving 3 stars because of owner/management. The waitresses here bust their asses and are usually short handed. People in back standing around eating or day dreaming! When we walked in the hostess did not greet us. She did not say hello or hi. She did not make eye contact and was rude. She told us there was a 10 minute wait when there were at least 20 open tables. As we saw customers leaving she made no effort to get us seated. She then started ringing up checks for multiple customers leaving. I went to the desk and asked her why we weren't getting seated since so many people were leaving. She then mentioned there were only 3 servers working...not my problem. Your location is surrounded by numerous hotels. Being a Sunday you think someone in management would know to scheduled additional servers. It's common sense. Idiots are running this location. Only one server, one manager, no cook. The manager did the cooking. It was 6 AM and I was the only customer in the whole decrepit place. It still took 20 minutes to get my food which was cold when I got it. At the end of my meal the server shows up with the bill and her little personal purse. No cashier. You pay the server directly and she makes change with her own money. Place is literally falling apart and obviously not going to be repaired. Sign says 24 hours, but it's only open 6AM to 10PM. I don't get it. How can an IHOP get less than four stars? It's not like you go there expecting a four-course French meal prepared by a Michelin star chef with a fine burgundy suggested by the resident sommelier. We go there and expect... well... a chain pancake house, and that's exactly what we get, without fail. Sometimes the service is great (mostly it is) and sometimes not so great (having a bad day darling?). Eggs are eggs, pancakes are pancakes, a cup of coffee is... you get it. My problem is being from out of town here for work I don't know much about the area or businesses within. So when the google and GPS states OPEN 24 HOURS EVERYDAY plus there is a huge sign on the front of the building that says 24 HOURS it is safe to think it's open 24 hours. Nope. You get told that the tiny weekly schedule on the front door super cedes the giant 24 HOURS sign on the front of the building. No big deal I guess just when you get people driving here because it's the only thing open early and now you have waisted your time. read more

It was a rainy night and I had just gotten off work at the local Walmart. I decided to spend my money at Ihop, because I have heard good things about it. Until that night I went in and waited over an hour for my food. My waiter (that went by the name Kevin) Never once asked what my name was!!! When I finally got my food there was no syrup on my plate. When I asked Kevin for more syrup he grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and yelled in my face "No More Syrup". He then swiftly punched me in the jaw and told me to leave. I called to make sure that they were going to be open at 11p and the staff that answered was very rude and said yeah we are open 24/7. I get here at 11:10p and before I can even make it to the door a staff member came out and said we are no longer serving we stopped seating at 10:30p. I emailed their head office and never heard back. So I guess now they are not open 24/7 everyday only certain days but nothing is posted anywhere about this change. read more

I then asked the manager when we were going to be helped and got attitude right away. There were four a servers there and no service was being done. Our food was brought out by another kitchen worker and we were never seen again by anyone to ask how our meal was. The entire time the workers were all yelling at each other across the floor over who had what table. Stopped in for dinner while we were in the area and it was not hot out it was raining and it was ridiculously freezing cold as the air conditioning had to be on max. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant. I heard a man that worked there even give a shout out to someone that he was very cold. We told our server who was very nice and he said he would ask HER if she could turn it up. I ordered my usual tilapia as it has never disappointed at my local IHOP. When the older woman asked what my friend and I wanted to drink she got an attitude with us, and she has not been back to our table since. Took my family there hoping for a nice breakfast. It was busy when we got there so I had to wait but no big deal. By the time we got a table it was slowing down. Even though it was slowing down the Service was still slow and only talk to the waitress twice. Once to place the order and the second time for the bill. The only person that was helpful was the manager. But when the waitress brought the bill she tried to charge us for a meal we ordered but never received. She never offered to refill our drinks. After we were seated, which consisted of dropping the menu and walking away, she then walked directly to the server and very obviously said something to the server about us, because the server looked right us. We were out of town on a bike trip from Chicago we stayed next to ihop so we ate there in the morning and the service was great! The manager was so friendly standing at the door and helped with our drink order for our group, Mary Ann was our server and she was wonderful!
