We were passing through Mount Pleasant and stopped for breakfast around 8:00 am. A friendly hostess welcomed us and we were seated immediately. Server took drink orders. The atmosphere was super! Drinks delivered fast -- small talk with server was light-hearted and fun. Manager checked on us a few times, as well as other customers. Food was on the table within minutes -- hot, fresh, and delicious. We left full with smiles on our faces! The town of Mount Pleasant has a jewel! Stopped by on our way to Arkansas for a quick breakfast. We got there before 8 a.m. and it was me, my daughter and her toddler. When we got there, there was only 1 couple there and one waitress and a host. FOOD: Average IHOP fare. We had eggs, hash browns, bacon and coffee. Nothing spectacular. ATMOSPHERE: Average IHOP--clean but run down. SERVICE: there was one waitress and she made it a point to complain (repeatedly) that she was the ONLY one there, while she would bark orders to the host. I can see when someone is in the weeds & I can be empathetic to someone that is really trying to provide good service. It was really off-putting to watch the constant complaints. One group of 6 and on solo diner, In an age of COVID -19 and I get seated on the other side of a low divider from the big group, instead of any of the 12 other booths. The WORST experience EVER!! We travel ALL over the USA on business trips and eat iHop for breakfast when possible which is often! The waitress (bless her heart) brought the food in phases! We had to ask multiple times for the hash browns, bacon (first batch brought out raw when asked for extra crispy, butter, salt (they didn't have any... no seriously this ihop has run out of salt and pepper! How is that even possible??? My pancakes were made TWICE mind you and still brought out burnt! I will give a 5 because we are regulars here and they are always pleasantly anxious to serve us. We came at 930 on a Thursday and it is not busy which works for us. Internet here is extremely slow so great time to actually communicate with your family and friends. We normally always get the same thing. My husband gets French Toast, bacon, sunny side up eggs, and hash browns. Today I got a Waffle (something different) with 2 eggs over medium and turkey bacon. Everything was great, I just wish they offered soft butter to spread easier on your waffles. Nothing beats butter all over with syrup. Oh hey they have all you can eat pancakes. I never go to IHOP due to a situation many years ago. I was hungry for fried steak and eggs and this was the best, if not only, option in town. There seemed to be only 1 person working the whole restaurant. It was several minutes before I was seated. I told the worker what I wanted and was told they were out of that. I was waiting for 2 hours just to try and get some water, still didn't acknowledge me while I kept trying to get her attention, I got tired of waiting had to say excuse me 7 times to get her to come to me, she was very unprofessional, she was can I help you very rudely, I told her that I waited 2 hours and she started going off on me and still didn't take my order, she's supposed to be a manager and the way she was talking to me says a lot other wise. I waited 5 minutes and then called to tell them I was here. After 5 calls that no one answered, I reluctantly went inside. Once inside, I had to wait another 10 minutes before I even saw a worker. It took them another 5 minutes to acknowledge my existence and ask me what I was here for. The app showed my food would be ready at 10:27, yet I didn't receive my food into 11:00. This is ridiculous. Walking in the door, I could smell pee. There was a "danger wet floor" sign like you see when they're mopping, but the floor was dry. Best guess is some drunk peed on the floor last night and they put the sign down and then didn't bother to clean it up. Great portions, horrible waitstaff. They are more focused about yapping in the kitchen than serving the 5 tables they have between the three of them. My crepe was burned on the bottom side, and my drink remained empty. The booth is broken and the extreenly over weight staff has the temperature set to 50 degrees. I have been to many IHOP's in the country, but this was hands down the WORST IHOP I have ever been to, and it was the worst restaurant I've ever eaten in. The meal started with a waitress with a major attitude. Her tone was short and frankly she spoke to our family rude. Food was ordered and all around we wanted turkey bacon. With hardly anyone in the restaurant, we waited for 45 minutes. At this point, my mother in law was so frustrated she cancelled the order. The waitress actually got upset and argued with her telling her it was coming, but the fact is, she didn't want it. I guess she had to prove herself right and she brought it out anyway, and all plates had regular bacon. We politely told her that we said turkey bacon (we don't eat pork) and she said "No you didn't you ordered bacon." Again arguing with the customers. We left that place. I went on Friday night the 6th of April, 2018. I had the Turkey dinner from the 55+menu. My broccoli was ice cold, the mashed potatoes were ice cold and the stuffing was congealed. It was a horrible experience. All totaled, I spent $57 on a meal for me, my wife and nieces and nephew. My wife's dinner was mostly inedible as well. Order was curbside but when you call to let them know you were there, they just pick up the phone and hang it up without saying anything.
