Its off of the intersections of the Olney Laytonsville Road , Olney Sandy Spring Road and Georgia Avenue . This place is on top the big Hil above the other parts of the Shopping Center. This Is Called The Olney IHOP . This place has a huge parking area that needs repaving soon . As you enter this place you see the host Station. In the rest of the area you sed a huge dining area where people can day and enjoy themselves. This IHOP has a concealed kitchen area where they perform their magic to make your best foods you could ever want or ever find anywhere else around . Sorry No Wifi . This place only has two ways of having a menu you can find either online or They have a personal menus to use when eating there. . They have fantastic food on the menus all you could ver want . I love this place fir its far.ers choice dishes, Blueberry, Raspberry and chocolate chip pancakes . This place as great staff there to help you . I reapplied recently and handed in my resume. I hooe to hear something soon . I want the jib thrre without Fear , Judgment, Or Bad Politics used against me ir anyone else. . Everyone including me deserves chances fr jibs there ti make a difference and build bridges to every walk of life that comes in there . IHOP are the most successful chain of Restaurants in the United States . Thats why I love this restaurant . But what happened during the Covid Pandemic it was unlawful inexcusable unprofessional Reprehensible, Disrespectful, And wrong on all levels . Went despite the bad reviews I read. it is close, my first visit. We were greeted right away. Given our choice of a table/booth. Coffee was brought quickly. The $6. value menu is now $7. The food arrived in a timely manner and the service was excellent. Breakfast food was good. We will go again and recommend you consider a visit based on our first visit. read more

I placed a to go order to pickup some breakfast this morning and yes, my order was ready when I arrived but the restaurant didn't have a lot of people seated when I arrived. I realized after I left the first time I didn't have my beverage so I had to come back and then I got a small beverage instead of the 30 ounce strawberry lemonade that I ordered. I couldn't go back because I had to go somewhere but I didn't feel like turning around again. I am not sure if I will visit this location again because of the service.... I wasn't impressed overall. Solid service. As we walked in there were 4 people at the host stand doing nothing. The host took us to a booth that immediately moved out of place (literally fell apart) when my little brother sat on it. The host stood there and did and said nothing. The manager said "put them at the next table" which was dirty. So obviously the host stood there and continued her favorite move... do and say nothing. I eventually just took all the stuff off the table and went to the next table and sat my family myself. The whole time we sat there neither the 4 hosts or the two managers sitting there doing nothing cleaned it. Eventually a server went and cleaned it. Feel bad for the staff who rely on tips. I serve and work in restaurants and there's nothing worse than bad superiors and bad hosts. Tips: get your food in to go containers with to go utensils when dining in to avoid uncleaned items. Covid is going around protect yourself. My daughter loves IHOP, I prefer the other breakfast location in town but I was like cool lets go being my last experience was on a weekend and surprisingly even though it was busy it positive seated fast, food servered fast and excellent service. Well today was a little different, it was during the week so it wasn't as busy but we entered no one was at the front so we had to wait, after a few minutes someone came over to seat us. Server (the reason for the two stars) was extremely nice, very professional. Quickly took our order. She quickly brought out drinks and poured my coffee nice touch. Food came out pretty quick, it was hot and tasty. Even my daughter said she was impressed. The issue came when I noticed after drinking half my coffee it was a lipstick stain on my mug. Sigh I don't wear lipstick. I alerted my server, she was extremely apologetic told me she would take off the drink and get her manager. Manager came said she was sorry wasn't anything else she could do but she would speak to the dishwasher. Didn't seem serious to her, I know mistakes happen but with covid numbers rising, flu cases increasing and the high number of elderly who visit this location it alarmed me. I noticed as we were leaving the manager was extremely eager to socialize with a second group who entered as I was leaving, she commited to them on how she knew her attire was up to par as they laughed and walked away (appeared to be friends being she was starting to share some tea, lol). I also noticed a vender who appeared frustrated with his visit I noticed he aldo has to wait awhile to get assistance. He needed to ask a question but when he saw her chatting he just threw his hands up and walked away. Don't get me wrong the manager seemed to be very nice just a little distracted. My suggestion would be just be more mindful of whats going on and provide more empathy towards customers when an error occurs. I probably will not return for a while or if I do I'm requesting all "to go items" even for dining in. read more

I've come to this ihop multiple times since it opened in Olney and each time there has been an issue. We were seated at a table with syrup and crumbs on the table. The hostess wiped the crumbs with her hand before seating us. Three silverware wraps had forks or knives with food on them. The glasses did not look properly cleaned. The syrup caddy was sticky and the menus felt greasy and sticky. We asked for to-go syrup to eat with our meal. The food tasted good, but it was hard to get over all of the unsanitary surroundings leading up to the meal. We came on a weekday for breakfast around 11:30am this time and the wait time for a table and food was not too bad but when we asked for the syrup packets with our food the person who dropped off the food seemed frustrated with us. Bottom line, as a server at another restaurant, I've seen mistakes happen with service during a rush, but these issues were sanitary concerns that should always be a top priority. I would not want my family or friends to eat here, which is sad, because ihop is normally a great space for a weekend breakfast. read more

Just ew. The cups are dirty, the staff is rude. I came with my son and had to ask the lady about an extra meal and drink charge on my bill. She took it off but if I didn't check my billing would ha e paid the 60.00. The theft in practice is horrible and the food is OK. They will add things to your bill and have you pay for staff meals. I came here for dinner about 2 weeks ago after I saw an ad on Facebook for their $20 dinner deal. When I went to the restaurant though, the deal was nowhere on their menu. I don't know if the ad was released early or if their menus weren't changed out but it was disappointing. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs and it was ok... I've had better at different breakfast places. My fiancé ordered the spinach and mushroom omelette and he enjoyed his omelette. He liked the hollandaise sauce, which I wasn't a big fan of. The pancakes were light and fluffy. I am giving them 3 stars because although the food wasn't great and they didn't have their advertised deal, the server was awesome. He was very friendly, seated us quickly, and came back often to check on us. I wish I could remember his name so I can give him props! read more

Not a good experience with service at this place. First of all, we walked in at 7 pm and we where the only other customer there for dinner. What does this instantly tell you? Waiter started friendly enough. I started my order with an appetizer then dinner. My son ordered his dinner. Waiter comes back ~ 10 min later with dinner, no appetizer. I politely reminded that we had ordered appetizer and would like that before entrees. The waiter instantly snaps "No you didn't" and he proceeds to show me his order pad to prove I had not ordered an appetizer. How is this supposed to validate anything - if he didn't write it down, I must not have ordered it, right? We get into an escalating disagreement about "who is right". If I were a considerate waiter, I would have instantly apologized and said something like "my apologies, I must not have heard, let me put that in right away for you". I called the manager out who was sympathetic and who affirmed that no waiter should ever respond like that. Anyhow, not a good experience. Frankly, I am amazed they are still in Olney...this is not the first time we have had bad service there. read more

This IHOP appears to be managed and serviced by young adults some of whom have discriminating practices toward some of the customers. This behavior has been witnessed on more than one occasion. Also, the pancakes are not consistently prepared, and have been overcooked whereby they split open, and on my last visit, there were black particles on the surface of the pancakes which possibly was an oven range that needed to be clean or some other practice that seemed to target me. Some of my acquaintances have stated that they do not go to this IHOP. I have been going to IHOP for over 40 years. It is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. Worst ever! Server never brought us silverware, another person brought out food and we couldn't eat it without silverware.. when the server finally came back and we asked him for some... He said he would be right back... Then he stopped at another table to take their order while we sat there with cold food... I finally got up and asked another server for silverware and she gave me 1.( we needed 2) then she grabbed one from the front and dropped it on the floor.. I really hope she didn't give me the one that was on the floor but I have a feeling that's the one I got... She slammed it down on the table and just said here! My friends bacon was under cooked and when our server finally cane to check on us, he took it to go fix it, and never came back... Then we finally asked for our check and he never brought it... Should have checked YELP before visiting this place, but at 10 o'clock in Olney you have few options. This place is the new diaster in town and is filled with the same poor service that's becoming too familiar around here. Atmosphere: Air conditioner was jacked up and the lights were very bright. Service: Horrible. I'm guessing this was the waiter's first gig. Had to ask for silverware and napkins after recieving appetizer. He was putting napkins and silverware on every empty table while neglecting ours which actually had two people sitting at it. He also had to be asked for refills. Food: Over priced and unremarkable. I got a side salad and had to settle for blue cheese, because they were out of almost everything else. How does that happen? I thought about ordering more, but by law they have to list calories in Montgomery County MD. Everything else on the menu looked like a dietitians nightmere. Salad was fresh, but only consisted of lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was a generous serving though for 3.99. Paul and I split mozzarella sticks. Not the best I've had but far from the worst. Paul ordered a breakfast sampler and frankly he got ripped off. You can get all that and a bowl of grits and biscuits and gravy at Cracker barrel for less. It all came out hot, but when I tasted his hash browns it tasted like a ball of grease and salt. Not sure if the salt part was Paul's doing. Bill: 29 dollars and change. This was for a breakfast sampler, mozz sticks, side salad and two beverages. Seriously this place is an embarrassment to breakfast restaurants everywhere. I'm giving this visit two stars...the booth seats weren't clean...they had food from the night before or and earlier visit left for us...our waitress was pretty good, very tentative however food did take a little long for IHOP...and it wasn't hot. This being my second visit...thought things would have improved with all the bad yelp reviews...we won't be coming back and will continue to make to trip to the tech road or Rockville location. I'm being generous with my stars, because we were a challenging crew. 8 moms, all toting children 4 & under. They wisely gave us a section off to the side, which was helpful, and likely kept our crazy from bothering other customers. Our waitress definitely had her hands full, and did her best. She was friendly and kind the entire meal, even when dealing with 8 separate checks, to go boxes/drinks, and fussy/noisy kids at the end. Food was decent. Nothing over the top that I couldn't make at home. I was shocked they didn't have sausage gravy for biscuits. Now, I am a salty over sweet girl by and by....give me a bag of chips over cake any day! However, that was some of the saltiest bacon I've ever had. It was somewhat jarring. To make things worse, their salt shakers are actually salt pourers. The moment you tilt those suckers, your entire plate is covered. My hash browns might have been delicious, but they were sadly ruined. Soda fountain is not anywhere near the correct settings, as the soda was very diluted. My son loves cheeseburgers and did not care for the kids menu sliders meal (which they kindly served him at 10 am). I think the rest of the group enjoyed their pancakes/sweet menu items. The weirdest part of our meal was that the manager or franchise owner was present and was just hovering in the distance watching our craziness ensue, never really chipping in to help our waitress or our group, beyond delivering a high chair at the beginning of the meal. I've noticed the reviews so far have a common theme regarding poor service. The saying goes leaders should lead by example. I'm sure lots of complaints are due to it being a new location. I've gone in once, but I've mostly ordered by phone (online ordering is not available at the Olney location). In person, my experience wasn't bad. I went on a Saturday and the wait was only a few minutes. The waiter was really nice and accommodating. I had an infant and a toddler so she sat us in a table with enough space for the stroller. She did forget to bring us a side we ordered, but took it off the bill at the end. The food was the same as every other IHOP so no complaints there. On the phone, it always takes FOREVER to order. Either the staff don't know how to use their ordering system or they don't know their menu. Every time I order I am left on hold because something I ordered is being disputed lol. They say they have to charge me extra for something that comes with the order or they can't find the item! They really need to get the online ordering available. I am excited to have IHOP in the area so I hope they can get it together soon! I love their Harvest Grain Pancakes! read more

This is a new IHOP in the Olney, MD community. The restaurant staff is friendly but needs additional experience and training on customer service. I was seated immediately. I ordered the Cinnamon Hawaiian Roll french toast with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and hash browns. My order was delivered quickly but was lukewarm. I requested silverware three times before finally getting utensils to eat my food. I did not receive water at all as requested. The waitress was quick to bring my final check before I finished eating. I was not finished my food and wanted to order an additional beverage. I requested the waitress several times to pay for my order. For about 10 minutes I could not locate the waitress to pay. The waitress was at the front counter and did not come by my table to check me out after multiple requests. I finally just requested change, paid in cash and left. I'm hopeful the service will get better. For now there is still much work to be done in training the staff. read more

Checked out the new ihop in Olney today...pretty nice...our serve Taylor was very patient and friendly...great job Taylor!! No, fault to Taylor because I saw her write down our order and instructions...however the cook did not cook my eggs soft or add enough cheddar cheese to know that there was cheese in our eggs...eggs were hot but pancakes were cold. Taylor did offer to take our orders back, but we were hungry and had a doctors appointment to get too. I'm giving it three stars for Taylor's customer service and not five because of the cook not knowing how to cook soft scramble eggs with cheddar cheese, and for the hostess not being friendly. We then had another lady walk up and signal for us to follow her. (She never talked to us though). Food order came out wrong. When the food came there was hardly any eggs on the kids plates. An entree that I've had at the Germantown location was lackluster here with horrible eggs. The pancakes were dry tasting. NEVER AGAIN! You can never get through to anyone. You call and either go straight to their voicemail (which is full, so you can't even leave a voicemail) or you get through and are put on a hold (but no one ever picks up/you never get off hold).
