Lipstick on mug.... I don't wear lipstick ‍
    Jeannine E.

Tips: get your food in to go containers with to go utensils when dining in to avoid uncleaned items. Covid is going around protect yourself. My daughter loves IHOP, I prefer the other breakfast location in town but I was like cool lets go being my last experience was on a weekend and surprisingly even though it was busy it positive seated fast, food servered fast and excellent service. Well today was a little different, it was during the week so it wasn't as busy but we entered no one was at the front so we had to wait, after a few minutes someone came over to seat us. Server (the reason for the two stars) was extremely nice, very professional. Quickly took our order. She quickly brought out drinks and poured my coffee nice touch. Food came out pretty quick, it was hot and tasty. Even my daughter said she was impressed. The issue came when I noticed after drinking half my coffee it was a lipstick stain on my mug. Sigh I don't wear lipstick. I alerted my server, she was extremely apologetic told me she would take off the drink and get her manager. Manager came said she was sorry wasn't anything else she could do but she would speak to the dishwasher. Didn't seem serious to her, I know mistakes happen but with covid numbers rising, flu cases increasing and the high number of elderly who visit this location it alarmed me. I noticed as we were leaving the manager was extremely eager to socialize with a second group who entered as I was leaving, she commited to them on how she knew her attire was up to par as they laughed and walked away (appeared to be friends being she was starting to share some tea, lol). I also noticed a vender who appeared frustrated with his visit I noticed he aldo has to wait awhile to get assistance. He needed to ask a question but when he saw her chatting he just threw his hands up and walked away. Don't get me wrong the manager seemed to be very nice just a little distracted. My suggestion would be just be more mindful of whats going on and provide more empathy towards customers when an error occurs. I probably will not return for a while or if I do I'm requesting all "to go items" even for dining in.

Dirt by the table where people eat

We were not greeted as we waited to be seated. When we were finally seated, it took a long time to get menus. The service was slow and wait times were ridiculous as it was not crowded. There was crumbs in the juice glass. There was crusted dirt and crumbs on the seat. Highly doubtful I'll be back! Gross!

    Sticky Syrup Caddy

I've come to this ihop multiple times since it opened in Olney and each time there has been an issue. We were seated at a table with syrup and crumbs on the table. The hostess wiped the crumbs with her hand before seating us. Three silverware wraps had forks or knives with food on them. The glasses did not look properly cleaned. The syrup caddy was sticky and the menus felt greasy and sticky. We asked for to-go syrup to eat with our meal. The food tasted good, but it was hard to get over all of the unsanitary surroundings leading up to the meal. We came on a weekday for breakfast around 11:30am this time and the wait time for a table and food was not too bad but when we asked for the syrup packets with our food the person who dropped off the food seemed frustrated with us. Bottom line, as a server at another restaurant, I've seen mistakes happen with service during a rush, but these issues were sanitary concerns that should always be a top priority. I would not want my family or friends to eat here, which is sad, because ihop is normally a great space for a weekend breakfast.

    Spinach and mushroom omelette

I came here for dinner about 2 weeks ago after I saw an ad on Facebook for their $20 dinner deal. When I went to the restaurant though, the deal was nowhere on their menu. I don't know if the ad was released early or if their menus weren't changed out but it was disappointing. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs and it was ok... I've had better at different breakfast places. My fiancé ordered the spinach and mushroom omelette and he enjoyed his omelette. He liked the hollandaise sauce, which I wasn't a big fan of. The pancakes were light and fluffy. I am giving them 3 stars because although the food wasn't great and they didn't have their advertised deal, the server was awesome. He was very friendly, seated us quickly, and came back often to check on us. I wish I could remember his name so I can give him props!

it's hard to mess up breakfast food, but IHOP is still a nice family-friendly place to go to. They have really downsized on their menu, with no french toast or other breakfast carbs available besides their pancakes.

I personally don't like it when restaurants will serve their own take on chicken & waffles and it ends up missing the essence of the dish. That essence of what I look for in the dish is the foundation of the food at T&J Waffles. The chicken is crispy and juicy with great sauce options to go with the meal. The waffles are light, airy, and sweet (but not overly sweet). I tend to frequent T&J Waffles whenever they come as the food truck, so YMMV if you eat at the brick & mortar location. That being said, I don't feel like there's an inherent loss of quality by eating at the food truck. My recommendation is to eat the food as soon as possible. Chicken and waffles to me has a very short shelf-life where the crispiness fades away shortly after. I think the best way to enjoy is to dig pretty much right away. Definitely check out the spot if you enjoy chicken and waffles! Side note: they have other options too that look delicious, but I can't not order the chicken & waffles when I go.

I was all prepared to sit at a table and have breakfast, but I was already there and I wasn't leaving without food. My dad and I both ordered the classic breakfast platter. It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. This may have been my first time having a homemade hash brown. I'm not sure what they did to it, but here's my guess. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried. My goodness, I should've ordered some hashbrowns to go so I could eat them for the rest of the week. The platter was so good, I didn't even mind having to eat it in my car. Lol. It was filling & $16 well spent.

My fiancé and I have supported this local spot for years. It used to be a reliable go-to. But over time, something shifted--and now I know exactly what it is: the cook, Laura. On 11/28, I ordered steak and eggs. What I was served was not just unappetizing--it was dangerous. The steak smelled rancid, oozed a grayish liquid, and had visible discoloration. We flagged it immediately. Today, we returned to follow up and were horrified to learn that Laura had been explicitly told not to use those steaks because they were spoiled--and she served them anyway. Let that sink in. Why wasn't the meat discarded? Why did she knowingly serve it? Is she untrained, negligent, or something worse? And more importantly--why is she still employed? This isn't an isolated incident. Months ago, I stopped in for a quick lunch and became violently ill within the hour. I had to pull over to vomit and missed an important business meeting. I suspected something was off then, and from that point on, I would call ahead to make sure Laura wasn't cooking. Recently, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. There's a level of disregard here that feels personal. When I asked to speak with her after learning about the spoiled meat, the staff refused and smirked like it was a joke. It's not. This could have led to hospitalization--or worse. This is a public health issue. Laura's actions were reckless, and the restaurant's failure to act is inexcusable. I'm mortified, furious, and deeply disappointed. Willy's was once a place I proudly supported. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The place is old & plain, not a fancy cafe but they got a huge menu with all kinds of sandwiches, bagels and desserts. I would definitely recommend this place.

The bagels and baked goods here are good, and the staff is generally pleasant. On those two alone,…read morethis place deserves your business. But there's a pattern here that keeps me from giving a higher rating, and today it crossed a line. For a spot charging $7+ for a bagel with cream cheese, the policy of charging extra for a to-go cup with ice and a lid has always felt petty. Today it got worse. I asked for an extra cup & lid for ice before being rung up, and the employee wrongly assumed I wanted a simple water cup. When I clarified, instead of extending a small courtesy to a regular customer, he stopped and ran a separate credit card transaction for $2.65, the full price of a beverage, for an empty cup. I had already paid for my bottled beverage. It's not solely about the money. It's about what that gesture communicates to your customer. A $0.25 cup given as a goodwill gesture goes a long way. A separate $2.65 charge for an empty cup does the opposite. The food and early open time will keep bringing me back. But management should keep in mind that it's the small things that turn regulars into occasional visitors.

The…read moreexperience was not good so, since then, I have refused to return even after it changed to Glenwood's. My philosophy is that there are simply too many restaurants in the world to return to a bad one. However, I was not aware that Glenwood's has upped its game. A lot! A helluva lot!!! While the ownership is still the same, everything else has changed - for the better! The dining room is neutral and completely understated. Quiet interior. Hushed energy and soft music. Beautiful finishes. Every surface I touched was clean, warm and modern. The service too was excellent. The hostess was friendly. She led us to one of the biggest booths I have ever occupied. Our server, Erika, was friendly too - also fast, good, charming, well-spoken and hard working. She helped us navigate the menu and made our dining experience really really nice. She is a credit to the restaurant! Of course, you go to a restaurant for the food and Glenwood's does NOT disappoint here either. Based on Erika's suggestion, we started with the Ahi Tuna Battera - a kind of sushi "roll" that is shaped/designed more like layered lasagne (Erika's description, not mine). It was great and almost too big for appetizer size. But I'm not complaining! For our main course, we both ordered the Fire Roasted Rotisserie Chicken. OMG! Delicious. Moist moist MOIST!!! I do not know what the chef put in that marinade but it was out of this world fantastic. Big big BIG!!! A half chicken with plenty of succulent meat on it. Neither one of us spoke until our chickens were picked clean. I only wish I could rotisserie a chicken that good! It was one of the best chickens I have ever eaten. For dessert, we gobbled down the cheesecake, making official gluttons out of ourselves! It was creamy, substantial and the perfect finish to our great meal. The negative to Glenwood's is its location. It is in a non-descript Rockville office building that is nothing special; but locked up and dark at nighttime. There is no other retail business within sight of the restaurant. This weird, lonely location gives it an abandoned - almost desolate - ambiance from the exterior. Driving by, I had almost thought it was a dining room for a retirement home. So, I started out this review by explaining that my bad experience at Stanford Grill kept me from enjoying a good dining experience at Glenwood's. I could not ignore the taint Stanford had given that place. But Glenwood's is a completely different place. The menu had so many great dishes that I want to return and try. I will definitely be back and I can see it becoming "my place." I highly recommend Glenwood's for a great meal in a great restaurant!
