This place as you enter in you see a huge Dining Area . A staff office and a huge band entertainment stage fir live Entertainment bands on every Friday or Saturday Nights. As you go to the right down a hallway you see a concealed kitchen area where they perform their magic to make your best foods you could ever want or cant fjnd anywhere else. They have fantastic foods here and great menus . They have Great staff including My Family Katherine and her kids including me . But their managers have to work on personality skills when it comes to hiring people like me. When I do a job . I do it professionally by building bridges to make cimmunities and families amd more feel welcomed, At Home , And Feel Like Family There again. But i do it with Great Resect to jnow the cimmunities and the people . I will not let management politics determine how I do my job . I have been through a lot since what the pandemic did to all of us . It was unjustifiable, Inexcusable, Unprofessional, Reprehensible, Disrespectful, Unlawful, And down right wrong. I stopped by for a drink after a nearby event, and it immediately gave me the neighborhood dive bar vibes (in a good way). It was towards the end of the night for them on a weekday, and I just wanted a gin soda. It's a rare occasion for me to he asked whether I want a single or double. So I enjoyed that, and noticed how big the place actually is. I feel like the only thing it's missing is a pool table, haha (unless I missed it). They have an excellent happy hour that I would love to try if I was in the area, but it's kind of far from home. Based on recent reviews, things do seem to be mixed, and I didn't try the food. But I most likely will the next time that I go, whenever that is. I appreciate it the friendly staff, the music, and the vibe of the place and I would recommend it to anyone in the area for drinks at least. read more

This was such a ride. An interesting ride. We stopped by here on Sunday night for dinner and to watch football. TVs a plenty and was happy to see some west coast teams on. When we walked in, nostalgia hit me since the inside of this place looks like a place my family used to frequent in Florida. A younger guy came over to us, we told him there was five in our party and he said he would have to talk to his manager even though there were five or six open tables in view. We got a bigger table near the stage area where the bluegrass band set up for the night. The staff seemed straight up frazzled. It was hard to get our servers attention and had to follow up with requests for a few items throughout the night. I got the buffalo tenders and fries and it was passable but barely any sauce and unfortunately that's one of the items that I requested and never got. It took a while too so this one goes onto my list of "I just want to give you money". It. Seems like a lot of the locals love it and have a history here which I love and would love if we had a positive experience but from here on out this place will stay outta the way of memories (I couldn't resist). read more

Wife and I decided to come here and try this place out after the gym on a Sunday, the service was really friendly and attentive, however the place was very dark and gloomy. As far as the food, it was good but nothing exceptional, the pierogies were the best thing we tried, the so called "best wings in Moco" were a let down, dry and stringy while the grilled chicken sandwich was quite dry but it still tasted good. In the neighborhood for dinner tonight and this looked like a decent place from the Yelp reviews. I'm glad I came. I had the 52nd Street Eastsider sandwich ("samich"). For my side, I got an order of pierogis, one of the items this place is known for. My partner got a bowl of crab soup ($10) and the Duff salad. The menu is interesting, as there's a back story for a number of the items. For my sandwich (sorry, samich), the story is it was invented in New York City 57 years ago. I can't swear to that, but I can tell you it's a delicious sandwich, with a good portion of Grilled prime rib, with sautéed onion, tomato, cheese and mayo on a perfectly grilled rye bread. I have not had pierogis in a long time and the side order of pierogis (4 of them) came in a cup accompanied by sautéed onions. The pierogi felt a little greasy, but that might have been butter. And it didn't taste greasy at all. The potato filling had a nice seasoning and the pierogi pasta itself was tender (not hard or dried out). Really good. My partner really enjoyed the crab soup. Lots of crab on top and the broth contained a variety of vegis, including corn. My partner said the soup could have used a little more Old Bay, but I thought it was good as is. The salad looked great and I was told the chicken was well prepared and moist, the BBQ sauce was tangy and the bacon crisp. Honestly, between the pierogis and the soup, we took half of the meal home. Looking forward to the leftovers. The server was very friendly and helpful. Nice, friendly vibe in this place. This was our first visit. It was exactly what I expected, but hoped for more. It's a generic bar and grill that for some reason appeals to the senior crowd (think gray hair on a Saturday night). The menu is very diverse, which should be a little red flag. Mom ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Burger was overcooked and under seasoned. Fries are pretty decent. Daughter ordered kids wings with onion rings. She said the wings were "mid", overcooked, almost like jerky (ouch). Husband ordered steak, cheese, fries and egg sandwich with slaw on side. Egg was over hard and he kinda expected some runny which it needed for moisture. Maybe the slaw would have done that too, but it was that tangy mayo flavor, so dodged that bullet. I ordered salmon with veggies (steamed broccoli) and pierogies. Salmon was overcooked (there is a pattern here). Pierogies were doused in butter, but tasted okay. We watched a little of the band, which starts at 8:30. It wasn't strong enough to get us to want to drink and hang, although the sax player was smooth! The bar menu has some cool NYC-style dishes! The pierogis were alright, though a tad tough, but the onions and sour cream really made them shine. The wings with Old Bay seasoning were a total winner. The burger was okay and you can add toppings for an extra seventy-five cents each. As a tomato purist, I wasn't too thrilled with the tomato--it lacked flavor and freshness, which is a shame since tomatoes were in season this year. The blue cheese dressing was also a bit weak. Adding some blue cheese crumbles would have made it much better. The signature 52nd Street Eastsider sandwich ("samich") was tasty. Again, the tomato slice didn't quite hit the mark for flavor and juiciness. The service was fantastic, and there's plenty of parking. Live music is available some nights, but the noise level is average or slightly above average, which might not be ideal for deep conversations. Food is solid. Service is a more good than bad. This place is a rustic with a restaurant & bar area that opened in 1989 when it was pretty out of the way. Now, it's still kinda outta the way, but the area is more developed now. They have live music here with a small stage area. I've been here 3 times. March 2019: They had 1989 pricing for their 30th anniversary pricing on that Thursday in March 2019. I knew I wanted to take advantage of like $5 burgers. The burger was delicious. I was at dinner with a woman, but I wasn't counting it as a date more of a friend. We had gone on one date the month before and even kissed, but she had mentioned her boyfriend who was in prison down in Petersburg, VA. And that he wasn't getting out until like 2028, but she loved him. Apparently, he got arrested in Texas in 2016, for some misunderstanding about some embezzlement-related crime and Texas was way too strict, and that she loved him and was dedicated to him and would marry after he got out. Later in 2019, she ended up moving to New Hampshire for a job and is still there. Perhaps, this was a tall tale, who knows? August 2023: I needed to have surgery. Two nights before, two friends & I went here to wish me well beforehand. I got the wings, which were delicious. Server was very nice too. September 2024: That same friend from 2023 mom & stepdad were in town. I wanted to see them, and we were going to meet at his home in Montgomery Village and go to Outback in Germantown for dinner. They came over, and my friend's mom said Outback in Germantown wasn't showing up. Turned out it was out of business! Luckily we checked the website. The next nearest one was more the double/time & distance away in Aspen Hill. We weighed various options, and his mom really wanted Bloomin' Onions. But we looked up various options. Outta the Way Cafe came up in discussion, and I said I'd be fine with that. She looked up menu and said they do have onion rings, so she was cool with that. We got there. I ended up with the Prime Rib sandwich (since I had my heart set on prime rib at Outback). It was very good, tinder meat, and good toast. The server never smiled and seemed to be annoyed. I asked a couple of questions. I asked how much meat was on it, and she gave a generic answer. I said how many ounces, and she said I'm not sure, I can find out if you want me to. She visually looked annoyed as she stormed off. She came back saying 5 oz. I said how many is the burger, she knew that off the top of her head 6 oz. Although I was quite hungry, there were also a couple of appetizers, and reviews were very good on prime rib sandwich, so I got that with the $2 more price. I ate a few of my friend's nachos, and the mom shared a few onion rings with me too and one of her shrimp tempura. All the food was good, but not as delicious as the prime rib sandwich. The stepdad got prime rib sliders, which I thought wouldn't be enough food. He wasn't a fan of his, and he commented how the menu didn't say onions on them as he picked off the onions. I said I don't like onions either unless they are fried like onion rings, Bloomin' Onion, etc., and agreed that was bad the menu didn't state that and that I would've been disappointed with that. Server was relatively prompt and came back with refills on water, which was good. But she failed to smile and had a nasty frown on her. She never asked how we enjoyed our food, which I thought was weak too. I would've been honest saying my sandwich was delicious. I mentioned that to the group that I think it's bad when the server doesn't ask how our food is. They half-heartedly agreed with me. After the meal, I stepped out to use restroom, which was in good shape, clean, working order, etc. I came back, and thanks again to the Stepdad for paying for my meal too! I was thinking it would be a separate check for me. Conclusion: Food is great, and in spite of a few negatives like the server's unfriendliness, etc., this is a solid place, I'd definitely return. read more

First time here, and I must say the location is great. It provides off-street parking. It's very busy for both inside dining or take out. The food and full bar and drinks menu are very extensive with lots of choices. I was very disappointed in my meal today. We are for my birthday dinner. They had a modified menu because there was something wrong in the kitchen. Everything I got was cold or inedible. I had to send the crab soup back because it was cold. When they brought over the crab dip, they asked if we wanted more bread. They gave us very little so I said yes. We were never told that it would be extra. I ordered the prime rib sandwich. The bread was hard as a rock. There was very little meat on the sandwich and it was all shriveled up. That was also cold. I sent it back and ordered DoorDash while everyone else finished their dinner. None of us liked the food. Plus, their bathroom was incredibly small. The stall had enough room for the toilet and that was it. It was hard to close the door when you were using the toilet. I had to open the door to use toilet paper. It was ridiculous!! They definitely need to remodel the bathroom. If something in the kitchen isn't working, the close down until it is fixed. read more

Just stopped in for a light lunch and drink meeting a friend last week. Ron was a great server- volunteered to let us taste the sauces and soups so we could pick one we really liked being our first time here. Chip wings were great and unique. I personally liked the old bay wings the most. There is great service and the food is good. There are many choices on the menu. They also have musics some nights.

It's a hidden gem. It may look a little dumpy on the outside. Same shopping center as the Derwood Post office. I got carry out a few times and their wings are delicious, just as good as wing stop. I had a steak and cheese sub, that was good. Now they have good HH specials starting at 3pm M-F. I'm definitely have to check it out. They have a nice bar, to watch sports. My husband and I were in the area. This isn't just a bar-it's an "experience". The artwork is unique-the staff even more so. I had the smoky BBQ wings with a sweet ice tea. My husband got a burger. The music was decent. This is Derwood's version of Cheers where everyone knows you in some way (elementary/high school, neighborhood, etc). Staff was friendly and professional.
