Willy's is a small restaurant that has great farm to table food. The food is great! I had the two egg special with maple sausage. The sausage is amazing! The maple flavor actually bursts out of the sausage. I enjoyed the homemade home fries and the rye toast was excellent. We will be back to Willy's. read more

I don't write reviews lightly, but what happened at Willy's has crossed every line of safety, professionalism, and basic human decency. My fiancé and I have supported this local spot for years. It used to be a reliable go-to. But over time, something shifted--and now I know exactly what it is: the cook, Laura. On 11/28, I ordered steak and eggs. What I was served was not just unappetizing--it was dangerous. The steak smelled rancid, oozed a grayish liquid, and had visible discoloration. We flagged it immediately. Today, we returned to follow up and were horrified to learn that Laura had been explicitly told not to use those steaks because they were spoiled--and she served them anyway. Let that sink in. Why wasn't the meat discarded? Why did she knowingly serve it? Is she untrained, negligent, or something worse? And more importantly--why is she still employed? This isn't an isolated incident. Months ago, I stopped in for a quick lunch and became violently ill within the hour. I had to pull over to vomit and missed an important business meeting. I suspected something was off then, and from that point on, I would call ahead to make sure Laura wasn't cooking. Recently, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. There's a level of disregard here that feels personal. When I asked to speak with her after learning about the spoiled meat, the staff refused and smirked like it was a joke. It's not. This could have led to hospitalization--or worse. This is a public health issue. Laura's actions were reckless, and the restaurant's failure to act is inexcusable. I'm mortified, furious, and deeply disappointed. Willy's was once a place I proudly supported. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Until there's accountability, I won't be back--and I urge others to think twice before risking their health here. read more

We visit the area from out of state 4-5 times per year and always eat at Willy's at least once. The breakfast variety is great, the service treats you like family. The owner is always there, and the sourcing of much of the ingredients is very local. There is one small problem...I can't get past the burgers to try anything else on the lunch/dinner menu. The burgers are fabulous. Tender, large and juicy; and yes they will actually cook you a pink-inside medium rare cheeseburger! This was my first time in a long time visiting Willy's. Willy's is a diner that serves really good menu items from locally produced farms. It's a small, busy establishment, so there's never hardly any seating there when I go, but the staff is really nice, and I always call in my food ahead so I never really have to deal with much of a wait, although standard wait times range from 15-25 minutes. I got the big boy breakfast, they didn't have the coffee crusted flank steak so I settled for the ribeye, with cheese eggs and home fries. My meal was ok. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium but it was medium well, and lacked seasoning and flavor. Not bad, just not what I was looking for. We also got the Challah bread French toast, turkey bacon, and although we ordered grits, with this meal, we got home and realized they weren't packaged with our food. My three year old enjoyed his Mickey Mouse pancake and sausage a lot. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience at all. My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time this morning. We love locally owned, small businesses. However, this one disappointed. The restaurant is small, but that is fine. It was packed. Obviously there are a lot of people who are regulars. The decor is dark and a little outdated. However, they are festive. There were already easter decorations. As soon as we walked in one of the weight staff hollered over to us that we could see ourselves. Not long after we sat, someone was by to take a drink order. Our food order was taken a few minutes after our coffee arrived. Our food took quite some time to come out, but it looks like they have a skeleton crew, so we weren't very surprised. I ordered a Belton waffle with strawberries and whipped cream, and it came out plain. No strawberries or whipped cream. My waffle also came with bacon and eggs. My husband ordered the sausage and gravy and it came with aside of home fries and bacon. My husband said his food was OK, but it was nothing to write home about. Despite the fact that my waffle did not come with strawberries, the waffle itself was OK. Again, nothing to write home about. For what we got, the meal was also very expensive. We were very surprised when the check came. This seems like a nice neighborhood spot, but it's not somewhere that we will be going back to. read more

The place is un-assuming it is on a corner with parking, once you arrive seat yourself. The server comes over and is extremely pleasant and funny. My recommendations would be the Habanero burger it was delicious and the COLESLAW (yum).. I tried the blueberry crumb it was delicious and the cherry crumb was good. But, if you're in northern Anne Arrundel county at any time, there is no way this place is a secret. Everything here is locally sourced by the owner because of his great relationships with local organic suppliers It's great to taste fresh orange juice, milk, fresh off the farm, Every entree is tasty and imaginatively prepared. My husband were out and about one morning and drove past Willy's Kitchen, so we decided to stop in. Boy, am I glad that we did. We have a great experience and cannot wait to return. The venue is really tiny, no real waiting area, so after placing our names on the waitlist we sat in our car. The restaurant was completely packed, but the service is fast and efficient, so the tables are turned around quickly. My husband and I were seated at the bar, which was kind of out of the way, it also allowed us to chat with the staff who were all friendly and personable. My husband order the The Breakfast Sampler while I had to the Farmer BLT. My husband practically devoured his food! He is a big fan of sausage gravy, but can never seem to find one that he likes. But he really enjoyed the sausage gravy at Willys! As for my meal, it was so flavorful, I didn't even add any condiments to the sandwich. It is amazing that such a simple dish could be packed with so much flavor. Best believe, Willy's Kitchen will see me and my husband again real soon! read more

Second visit for breakfast (last was probably over 5 years ago). Just as busy as last time! When we entered, we wrote our name and party size on the paper near the door. There are only two chairs in the waiting area and an extremely small foyer, so if your party includes guests with limited mobility, you might want to have them wait in the car until your table is ready. They have counter-seating and tables available. The dining area is small, and they work to clear tables quickly so people can be seated. When we were seated, we were offered beverages and menus quickly. The food was very good, but not hot (biscuits and gravy had to be eaten first, and it was lukewarm at best. Don't care much about pancake temperature). Refills were provided as needed. Condiments were ready to go on the table. I liked how the three front-restaurant staff worked together to keep everything running, and expressed appreciation for each other. It was also nice to see a notes/tip box that was designated for kitchen-staff only. A bit loud with happy guests, so don't come expecting to have a quiet conversation. read more

We were on our way to BWI airport so needed a close place to have breakfast. This is a small restaurant that looks like it's in a house but the food was delicious! The turkey bacon BLT was on whole grain bread that was really good. I had fried potato skins with it which were fried potatoes. This was a great hole in the wall breakfast spot. read more

The food is still amazing! They had to adjust some things with Covid and supply shortages but their food is still delicious. I continue to go there regularly even though I live in Howard County, it is worth the drive. It is a small place, very lively, with farmhouse decor. There is always a little wait to be seated on weekends but it's not too bad. Once seated your server comes right over to take drink order, also quick about food orders. The food can take some time but it's worth it. I thought about narrowing down some select food choices that I've personally had but to be honest, they were all great. We were only in the Baltimore area for a short while and knew that we couldn't pass up getting some fresh Chesapeake Bay Crab--even if it was for breakfast! The Good: *Fairly large menu with a nice variety for anyone and everyone. *Supporting your local area when dining here as most of the main ingredients are sourced locally--even the bison! *We both enjoyed our crabby breakfasts: the Crab Explosion Omelet and Chesapeake Crab Cake Benedict. They were both full of crab with perfectly cooked eggs. *Great prices as Crab-filled dishes like this would fetch twice the price back home in The Bay. *Cozy location with pleasant and understated décor. Well, Yelp! hardly disappoints! Looking for a Sunday breakfast diner, something the locals enjoy. This is the place. Locals have their own Mug Coffee club. It's small, seats about 50 tops. Counter has room for 10. Staff at the counter was quick to handle the regulars but a bit slower to handle the one offf customers that are not regulars. The menu is extensive with many different options. Farm to Table as well. I ordered the Pig and Blankets breakfast. Paleo pancakes with eggs and sausage patties. Smashed Sausage was homemade. Eggs cooked perfectly. Paleo pancakes were a nice change to toast. Real maple syrup was a nice touch as well. Would I come back? The food was delicious, I'm left with a little hesitancy based on the staff and how much they took to certain guests and not others. read more

What a great, hidden gem! This looks like a nondescript little diner from the outside, but its so much more than that. They use locally-sourced ingredients and do some amazing scratch cooking at Willy's! The service was also super-friendly, we were treated like regulars on our first visit. We come up to Baltimore from Norfolk a few times a year for Orioles games, and stay at a nearby hotel close to the light rail to get to the Yard, and were looking for a good, local breakfast spot. We couldn't have found better. The crab cake benedict I ordered was really amazing, I can't imagine a better Baltimore breakfast item! This was a lovely and cozy spot in Glen Burnie. Interior space is a little small, so you could be waiting if you come a little later. We arrived around 8am on Saturday and it was already full, but a table opened up when we got there. The menu boasts supporting local farmers. One ordered the steak and it was excellent and perfectly medium rare - which is hard for many diner-type places. We had to try the crab balls since it was a seasonal special. To me, it was ok, but apparently it's a crowd favorite. Only disappointment was the pancake - it wasn't completely mixed so some bites had an overwhelming baking soda taste. All the portions were quite large. Flavor is what you'd expect from an American Diner type restaurant. The staff was friendly and willing to help. Be ready to wait though. Everything is made to order, so the food doesn't come out right away. But you'll have to remind the servers, because we saw our plates waiting at the counter and the food had cooled down by the time it got to the table. read more

Willy's is our typical breakfast go-to-take-out spot; ordering out many-a-times, previously warned dining in could have long waits (both for seating & food)- all previous visits we've enjoyed the ease of ordering to-go and the delicious flavors of our meals..but during this particular visit, our first time ordering on a busy weekend, we learned the chaos of a busy weekend can really impact the quality of the meals. We ordered our normal favorite dishes: two ham & cheese omelettes w.rye bread, a breakfast sampler, two short stacks, and a crab explosion omlette w.grits & rye bread Receiving a text my order was ready, I arrived to discover the noted chaos inside-a quite long waiting list, with impatient diners in the waiting area, pointing out it seemed none of the seated diners even had food at their tables. I felt lucky to see my order packed & ready to go. But due to the busyness, it took quite a while for me to be able to check out. I was asked by multiple staff if I needed to add my name to the waitlist, but when I said no I just need to pay for my to-go & go, they said someone else would help me, and the wait continued When finally stopping someone, by practically begging can I interrupt you to just pay & grab my food, I began to check the bags- the friendly staff member took over, holding up each container, listing what was inside-realizing they forgot a few items-adding to our bag, and ensuring me I was "good to go"..only to get home and discover they forgot items they said were actually in the bag already. I will say, for what was in the bag- everything was packed well for to-go travel- the syrups, butters, sauces, gravy, and more traveled well. As for the taste; a toss up between what same delicious quality & very underwhelming quality compared to previous visits Pros: The Breakfast Sampler had great flavor-fluffy moist pancakes, thick french toast, hearty juicy sausage, well-cooked crispy bacon, flaky buttery biscuit well-sauced w.peppery gravy- Short stacks are LARGE pancakes w.unique tangy buttermilk sweetness- wonderfully fluffy- melted butter keeping them moist Cons: The omelettes were inconsistent & overall barely stuffed; the two ham omlettes-one had large ample chunks of ham- the other was probably 90% cheese w.barely any ham- the home fries were undercooked, oily, and barely seasoned. The crab explosion (cost wildly went up due to market price-which wasn't advertised)-disappointing because for a higher price it was very barely stuffed-mostly melted cheese-definitely not as 'explosive' as we've had in the past. and well they forgot the grits so can't comment on their anticipated taste. (I normally give Willy's 5 stars, took a star off for the quality of this visit, but if I rated this visit alone it would be a 2.5) Again, we do frequent Willy's because we typically enjoy the hearty dishes, having out favorite go-tos- but this visit was very disappointing. We resolved to avoid weekend breakfasts because the chaos seemed to really impact the quality. read more

When visiting my Baltimore friends, Willy's is a must. A small well-established venue that has a great following. I fly to BWI and usually stay local, so Willy's is a quick morning drive. The coffee is stunning. Just keep pouring. While many of their breakfast items are tempting, I always cone back to The Chesapeake. It is my very crab-worthy meal. You will not leave hungry, just wanting to come back after your nap. With most quality places like this, you will notice the staff has been steady over many years. There were quite a few patrons in the restaurant already taking up majority of the tables so we sat smack dab in the middle. An older lady waited on us and was very attentive and had great service. In town to drop off someone at the airport bright and early ... so we rewarded ourselves with breakfast. Yelp didn't disappoint with Willy's. Looks a little rough from the outside ... it's basically an old house with an awning or tent out front (not open now) with limited parking. Just the way I like it! Inside was more of the same, but super clean, cozy and friendly. The staff was most generous and engaging ... if Cheers was a breakfast spot, this would be it (though they are open for lunch and dinner also!) The menu is extensive ... but not in the redundant diner sort of way ... in a creative, unique and tasteful sort of way. Specials for the day were posted on the chalkboard over the bar ... Snickers French Toast ... Fried Oysters and Grits etc. My wife got the special French toast w/ a sausage patty on the side. My son always gets a BEC on plain bagel ... but opted for Willy's version on sourdough with habanero cheese (not spicy) and he loved it. I got Willy's omelet w/ homemade grits and fresh rye toast. I asked if I could add 2 fried oysters and they obliged ($3 each). Everything was FANTASTIC. Coffee was typical diner style ... and while tasty, wasn't super hot, my only complaint. Well, that and they didn't have any form of corned beef hash on the menu ... which is my go-to at any breakfast spot. It was a quiet day, but our waitress said it's usually packed on the weekends ... our lucky day! There were tons of regulars sharing a meal with us ... and everyone was super friendly.
