Arrived at 12:30 for lunch. Seated immediately and drink order taken thereafter. My server arrived shortly and I ordered the t bone and eggs and substituted sausage for the pancakes. This restaurant seems pretty new inside and out, or it's been well taken care of. Every table and the door was clean. It was comfortable, and relatively quiet inside. I don't know what brand of coffee they use but after I ordered it, I noticed how good it was. Good aroma, smooth, and no bitter taste. I like that the had a salt and pepper in a grinder on the table. Our party of 6 had a really disappointing experience here. We waited about an hour for our food, and when it finally came out almost everything was wrong and the food was cold. It felt like every time we ordered something, there was an issue with it. Our waiter, William, never checked on us during the meal. Anytime we tried to ask for something, he would walk away before we could even finish asking. One person asked for hot sauce and he brought an empty bottle. We also didn't get silverware until we asked for it, and even then we only received 5 sets for a table of 6. The seating situation was also frustrating. When we walked in and said we were a party of 6, the staff asked if we could squeeze into a booth, even though they could have easily pushed tables together. Ironically, while we were waiting, another party of 6 came in and they did exactly that for them. On top of that, the food was overpriced for the quality, especially considering it was cold and not prepared correctly. William also made things uncomfortable because he stood there staring at us when it came time to tip, which made us feel pressured. It takes a lot for me to pay for eggs I can make at home. But since my wife wants ihop I'll go every now and then. I usually go for the same thing which is boneless chicken fried chicken and a splashberry drink. Which I love if made right. Unfortunately this last time it wasn't very good. Neither were the refills. Disappointing since that's usually my big draw to Ihop. It'll be a good while to go back since consistency was a problem. We were coming home to Corpus Christi on 181 and the wife says she's hungry...looking at restaurant row along the highway in Portland, we thought "why not a late breakfast?" So IHOP it was. We could see through the window that it wasn't crowded at about 9pm so we were seated immediately. I will say this before anything else: the food was just as we expected...the food was good. So, we sit and had menus in our hands for a good 20 minutes before someone comes and asks if we've been helped. Order taken, it's another 25 minutes before our order arrives. It wasn't busy. Food was good. But then we sit there waiting for our check for about another 15-20 minutes not seeing our waiter anywhere. When he FINally comes back by, he's able to get us our ticket right away and then promptly disappears for another 10-15 minutes. He's our cashier, so we didn't feel good just leaving the money on the table as some customers did arrive after we did. I was contemplating leaving the ticket/money with the next waiter/greeter we saw just so we could leave...but then finally saw our guy waiting on a table across the room so I grabbed the money and ticket and walked over there and said "here ya go" and proceeded to the door. This time I ordered chicken and waffles with a side of fries. Fries were cold and hard. Chicken was so cold I didn't take a bite. My waffle was so cold and soggy. The place was dirty and instead of investing in plexiglass between booths they made frames with visqueen. It looked awful and almost fell on my head. It made no sense. They only had it by the booths.
