We were / are not impressed. We have been here forever. Ordered two smoothies and a salad! The smoothies are prepared and given to you right away, then you wait! And wait! And wait! While we have been sitting here, we have watched multiple unsatisfied customers come and go. They are out of bacon, they just told a man. What? Ok. So the guy said he just wanted his money back. They had to call someone to see how to return the man's money. We honestly believe the man left without his order or his money because he (understandably) became frustrated. We were told they were out of ginger for our smoothie. We chose another add in. The smoothies are mostly ice. Not impressed at all. We will never go to another Tropical Smoothie again. We are from San Antonio and I had a similar experience at our Tropical Smoothie. Unbelievable. The man that came in after us just got his salad. I'm still waiting. They just said they have no forks! Well, that's a small thing, but it is the last straw. Salad is still not ready! We have now asked for our money back. The boy making the salad hasn't changed his gloves and has touched EVERYTHING! Love this spot! The decor has nice pops of color. The place is very clean inside. I ordered the acai berry blast without the banana. There are no sizes to the smoothies. Just one size. One is plenty enough. The smoothie was very good. It definitely gave me a boost to the day without caffeine. The workers are very happy and helpful. I always enjoyed Tropical Café but lately they are gradually making a few changes that make them seem a bit careless. Recently I ordered a Capris Sandwich with a side of Corn with Jalapenos. The Sandwich was a bit cold and the Corn with Jalapenos was hot, wrap in saran wrap. The wrap was sticky, caved in and it surely did not look very hygienic. I brought it to their attention and was told, this is how the owner wants it. A similar situation happen when I order a smoothie, I asked for a ¼ tsp of sugar in it and they wanted to charge for the sugar which historically they never charged. I guess when someone gets very sick they will be more careful with hygiene and presentation. read more

Ever since I found a Tropical Smoothie while living in Florida, I've loved their food. I was so happy to find one in Rockport while visiting. Unfortunately I don't live close by but my dad does. I ordered him some food for Father's Day. Door Dash does the delivery and the driver picked up the food and never delivered. However, the manager at Tropical Smoothie went above and beyond to make sure my dad got his order. I really appreciate all of his help. The Smoothie was fantastic the chicken flatbread came with tomato after I specifically asked no tomato and the cashier read back the order as no tomato I got the sandwich with tomato. There was a more mature lady working behind the counter I'm not sure if she's a manager or the owner but in my opinion she is very rude to her employees does not say please and thank you to them. When I was there she told one of them that the dining floor needed to be swept and that was it didn't say please and thank you if you're not kind of your employees how can you be kind to your customers? She also was just very rude while she was out on the floor barking out orders to her employees while there was a room full of customers that are waiting on their smoothies and food. read more

In my expert opinion I believe that the tropical smoothie cafe is a very well known very clean and very nice establishment. I believe that they do slack a bit on fully taking care of customers. Because I believe as a customer you should be treated with the at most respect. I feel this a very good establishment for the price they do very well with presentation and for the age that they hire at I believe they do very well especially knowing that they are a very small but very well known establishment. We went to the AT&T store next door and had to wait for the new phone to update so decided to check this place out. It was really cute on the inside. It was national flip flop day and they had a special going on. My dad ordered a sandwich and added a smoothie with it. My mom ordered a smoothie and my dad got a free smoothie (the special). They gave our smoothies to some other guys that were sitting down. The men told them they didn't order them and so they gave them to other customers. The store started getting really busy and I had to go up to the cashier and tell her we never got our smoothies. Thank god for this place! I had a peanut butter cup smoothie with no sugar added and my daughter made her own with kale and fruit. My husband had the same as me. I was so happy to finally have something healthy on this island (yes it is not an island, but it is what I call it)... it was a good $20.00 bucks for everything, but at least it was cleaner eating. The smoothies are based in ice and water, so has a consistency of ice cream. My daughter would of ate these all day/ every day if possible. I work a lot of doubles on the weekends and there isn't always time to grab a bite to eat on my hour break so I pick up a smoothie with energizer and multivitamin and while it isn't the healthiest thing to do, it serves as a viable substitute. My first visit the smoothie was very good and I was totally sold on the place. My second visit was utterly disappointing. My smoothie was way too thick and not smooth at all. The fix was to dump half out, replace it with water and blend some more. I complained it was now too thin. I was not offered a new smoothie. My comment was basically ignored. I'm tempted to give them another chance because the first smoothie was really good, but the customer service the second time was inexcusable. read more
